Days of Our Lives Transcript Wednesday 7/11/01 Thursday 7/12/01 USA
Belle: Poor Chloe. Could it have been any more horrible? I mean, seeing herself up on that giant screen...
Shawn-D: Just the idea that someone could hate her so much to do something like that.
Belle: If it was Jan and Mimi...
Shawn-D: They a
Mimi: Why? Why did I do it?
Mimi: I never should have let Jan talk me in to it.
Kevin: So, Brady was telling the truth. He didn't do it, did he, Mimi? No. it was you.
Brady: Damn it! I knew Jan and Mimi were up to something tonight. God, If I 'd only gotten to that slide projector in time.
Philip: So this is how you're going to make your money?! How could you do this to me,
Chloe? How could you?
John: Turn the projector off!
Belle: Who did this?
Kevin: He did. I saw him. He did it.
Chloe: [Sighs] So it's just me, myself, and I once again. What's the expression? What doesn't kill you makes you stronger... Much stronger.
Nicole: Victor, get up.
Victor: You startled me.
Nicole: I wanted to tell you this before Philip came in.
Nicole: Your grandson is a genius. Philip and Chloe's relationship is over, and it's all thanks to Brady.
Shawn: Shaw-- Shawn, what's this, huh? What, huh? is the dance over already?
Shawn-D: Yeah, uh, it got over early this year.
Shawn: Oh, okay. Listen, your mom, where is she, huh?
Shawn-D: Oh, we dropped her off on the way over. And dad's going to come by and pick up J.T. when he gets off work.
Shawn: No, that's all right. He's upstairs. He's sound asleep. That's where your grandma is. She's with him right now. So, is it going to be the usual -- the chocolate shake and the, uh, what, the cheeseburger platter with the works, huh?
Shawn-D: Actually, could I just get a water, grandpa?
Belle: Me too. Thanks.
Shawn: And that's all you're gonna have?
Shawn-D: Yeah, for now, for now. Also, grandpa, could I borrow your laptop for just a little bit?
Shawn: My laptop? Now?
Shawn-D: If you don't mind.
Shawn: No, I don't mind a bit. I mean it's upstairs on my desk.
Shawn-D: Okay, all right. I'll just go grab it. Belle, grab that table over there, all right? I'll be back in just a second.
Shawn: Can I tell you, you look lovely?
Belle: Thank you, Mr. Brady.
Shawn: Oh, yes. And did you have a good time tonight, heh?
Belle: In the beginning I did, but it didn't go so well after that.
Shawn: Oh. Well, I'm sorry to hear that. Listen, I'll get you a water, all right?
Belle: Okay, thanks.
Shawn-D: All right.
Belle: Shawn, I can't believe Mimi would do something so mean and destructive, and I ...
Belle: I almost feel responsible.
Shawn-D: What? Belle, how can you say that? First of all, we don't even know if it was them for sure. And even if it was, you had nothing to do with it.
Belle: I could have been a better friend.
Shawn-D: No, no.
Belle: Shawn, she used to be such a good person. What happened to her?
Kevin: You're the one who sneaked those slides into the projector, aren't you, Mimi?
Mimi: Okay, I did it. There, you happy? Guess it's only a matter of time before everybody finds out.
Susan: But why? Mimi, why would you stoop to that?
Kevin: It certainly does boggle the mind. I mean, here you are, friends with the most popular kids in school. Why would you alienate everyone this way?
Mimi: Because I hate Chloe! She's been awful to me, and she thinks she's God's gift and she stole my best friend, and I just hate her, okay? So I wanted to hurt her.
Kevin: Whatever your opinion of Chloe, the point is she didn't ruin the dance for everyone. You did, you and Jan.
Mimi: Why do you think Jan's involved?
Kevin: Chem. Lab. Need I say more?
Susan: Not to mention, everyone's seen you and Jan hanging out, conspiring together.
Mimi: Please don't bring Jan into this, or she'll kill me.
Kevin: I'm not sure I'd put that past her. In fact, I'd say she has definite sociopathic tendencies.
Mimi: Okay, Kevin, look, I know Jan's been rough on you --
Susan: And you've become just like her. You're no better than she is .
Brady: Why would Chloe believe that I would set her up like that?
Chloe: Admit it, Brady. You are chaperoning the dance because Mr. Kiriakis wants you there to come between Philip and me. That's the plan, isn't it?
Brady: Damn! I've got to make her understand. I would never do something like that. That's not who I am.
Philip: What are you talking about?
Victor: Well, Nicole just told me that something unexpected happened at the dance tonight. What was it, son?
Philip: Well, it was -- it was Chloe.
Victor: Did you two have a fight?
Philip: No. Worse. Much worse.
Victor: For God's sake, Philip, tell me what happened.
Philip: I don't feel like talking about it, dad.
Victor: Philip --
Philip: Dad, all you need to know is that you were right about her all along, okay? Getting in with Chloe was the biggest mistake of my life.
Victor: Somebody had better tell me what went on at this dance tonight.
Philip: I can't.
Nicole: Well, I was there and I saw the whole thing, and I can tell you, Victor, it was a hell of a show.
Craig: W-u-r-s-t -- Wurst. Right? 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.
Nancy: Hold it! Wurst with a "u"? Come on, you're kidding, right?
Craig: No, I'm not kidding. I'm serious, as I always am when I play this game with you. Wurst as In knockwurst, as in German, as in sausage.
Nancy: In case you haven't noticed, we're not in Germany.
Craig: Fine. Be that way. Worst with an "o," which I was saving the "o" for a later word, but you know what? Since I'm beating your beehive with a million points here, it doesn't really matter now, does it? What?
Craig: Chloe? You're home awfully early. What's going on? The dance isn't already over, is it?
Chloe: Yes, it is .
Nancy: Well, did you have a good time?
Chloe: No, I did not. But I have wonderful news for you, Nancy. You don't have to worry about me going out with Philip Kiriakis anymore. it's over.
Shawn-D: All right, see what we got here.
Belle: I'm scared to look.
Shawn: What the devil could they be looking at that's so damn interesting?
Shawn: Here we go. Listen is there anything else that I can get for you?
Shawn-D: Uh, no. Actually, I'm all right, grandpa. Thanks.
Shawn-D: This is even worse than we suspected.
Victor: Nicole, I want to know exactly what happened at that dance tonight that got Philip so upset.
Nicole: All right. Well, they were showing slides of the past school year on this big video screen, and then all of a sudden, bigger than life, there was Chloe naked in the shower.
Victor: Naked? But how? Where did the pictures come from?
Nicole: That was the amazing thing. There was this web site address on the photo, operagirl.Net.
Victor: This girl who was dating my son has nude pictures of herself on a web site?
Nicole: Apparently. If you want to see it, you can log on, but don't forget your credit card.
Victor: She's selling them? Oh, good God. Philip, I'm so sorry. I don't know what to say, except that I'm really sorry.
Philip: You warned me, dad, but I wouldn't listen, would I ? 'Cause I was too stupid, too... Ghoul girl -- that's the right name for her after all, isn't it? 'Cause that's all she is a freak. That's all she ever will be.
Craig: Chloe, what happened? Did -- did Philip do something to you? Did he say something?
Chloe: All that matters is that I won't bee seeing him anymore, which should make Nancy very happy since... I'm sorry. I shouldn't be taking this out on you. You had nothing to do with it.
Nancy: With what, sweetheart?
Craig: What happened, Chloe?
Chloe: Oh, it was just the average little high school dance with the average little high school bastards doing what they do best.
Chloe: Someone shot naked pictures of me in the gym shower and then put them up on the big video screen for everyone to see.
Mimi: Okay. Okay, you're right. I'm no better than Jan is and I am rotten to the core.
Kevin: It's not Jan you'd better be worrying about. It's the cops.
Mimi: My God. What do you think they'll do to me if they find out?
Kevin: According to the law they could handle this various ways. I'd say you'd get
somewhere between probation and 15 years in prison.
Susan: What you did is a whole lot worse than just putting slides in a projector at a dance,
Mimi. You put nude pictures of a minor on the web.
Kevin: And that's a felony. We're talking serious crime.
Victor: I assume everyone at the dance tonight saw the, uh, show?
Philip: Yeah. And every guy in school's probably logging on to operagirl.Net as we speak, staring at her, naked. God, as if my mom working in a diner wasn't enough, I'm the laughingstock of Salem High.
Victor: Listen, Philip, I know what a shock this must be for you, but now that Chloe's true character has been revealed, I mean, now that you know what kind of a person she really is --
Philip: You don't have to say it, okay? I'm gonna change my life. From now on things are gonna be different. I'm gonna totally focus on school and get into a good college. Even this summer I'm going to be hitting the books, finding something productive to do. And next year I'm getting straight a's, I promise you.
Victor: I'm happy to hear that, son.
Philip: I'm going back to the way I was. You know, I'm glad she's out of my head. I'm not thinking about her every second of the day. I mean, my relationship with Chloe had me totally off track. So who knows? it's probably for the best, isn't it? It is for the best.
Shawn-D: All right, here it comes.
Belle: Oh, my gosh.
Shawn-D: These pictures are different than the one that we saw at the dance, 'cause she's not completely naked.
Belle: She's like covered in soap suds or something.
Shawn-D: All right, look, it's just $19.95, join now, all major credit cards accepted, meaning that somebody's trying to make money off of this . That picture that we saw at the dance, that was only like a preview to get people to subscribe to the web site.
Belle: Okay, Shawn, I get it. You don't have to keep staring at the screen.
Shawn-D: All right, I'm not. I'm just trying to figure this out. Belle, maybe Chloe is the one who set this up.
Shawn-D: Don't you remember that conversation that we had where she had some crazy idea to make money this summer?
Chloe: I told you that I wanted to work this summer.
Philip: Right. You said you wanted to make money for music school in New York, but you didn't say you actually found a job.
Chloe: I know.
Philip: So, where are you working? What are you doing?
Chloe: I'm sorry, Philip. I just can't tell you the details.
Philip: So you're staying here in Salem?
Chloe: I didn't say I was staying in Salem.
Philip: So you're leaving.
Chloe: I didn't say -- I didn't say anything.
Shawn-D: Oh, here we go.
Philip: What do you mean?
Shawn-D: I mean it's another Chloe mystery. "I have a summer job, but I can't tell you 'cause it's going to jeopardize world peace."
Philip: He's right. I mean, we're your best friends. What kind of job do you have that you have to hide it from us?
Chloe: I don't have to answer that.
Philip: Well, then I guess we don't have to go to the dance tonight, either, do we?
Chloe: Fine. I'll see you around.
Philip: Hey, wait!
Shawn-D: Isn't it possible?
Belle: No, Shawn. Chloe would never do this . I saw her face at the dance when that picture of her came up on the screen. She was shocked. Beyond shocked. And I know you think she's a little weird, but she is not the type of person who would do something this horrible.
Brady: Hey, guys. Listen, have you seen Chloe? I drove by her house and the light in her bedroom wasn't on.
Belle: Brady, I think you should stay away from her.
Chloe: Whoever set up the web site had slides made and projected them onto this huge video screen.
Nancy: Oh, my God.
Chloe: And now everyone in school can go back to calling me ghoul girl, because I'm back to being old Chloe. No more Philip in my life, no one to protect me or give me status.
Craig: He didn't stand by you during any of this?
Chloe: Quite the opposite. But you know what really disappoints me? No, never mind.
Nancy: Honey, please tell us.
Chloe: The one person who I really thought understood me... Well, I was wrong. That very person is the one who did this to me.
Craig: Who was it, Chloe?
Victor: Look, son, I know how hurtful this is . I'm sure you'll have a few moments of embarrassment this summer, but it'll all blow over, and you're a Kiriakis . You'll give as well as you get. You'll end up on top, you'll see.
Nicole: And look at the bright side, Philip. You won't end up in the clink anymore, defending Chloe's honor.
Victor: Which she obviously has none. Look, son, I know you'll make it very clear to Chloe that you'll have nothing more to do with her, but a little bit of advice -- do it quietly. I mean, don't draw too much attention to it.
Philip: Dad, how can this not get attention? Everyone in school is going to be talking about this for the rest of the summer. Man, she had me totally set up, all because she's angry and -- and vindictive. She's been waiting for a chance to get back at me for not telling her you were alive when everyone thought you were killed in paris. I mean, first she accuses me of rape -- which now I know it wasn't her mother pressuring her. it wasn't a misunderstanding. She did it deliberately because she wanted me to fry. The only reason she backed off is 'cause she got scared. She didn't want to have to go into court and lie. Man, whoever put those pictures up on that screen tonight did me a huge favor. Yeah, I should thank them, shouldn't I ?
Chloe: It doesn't matter who did this to me. The point is, I was wrong, and I don't like being wrong... Or being used, lied to, and manipulated. But I guess I have a lot of things to learn. I'll learn them the way I always have -- the hard way.
Nancy: Sweetheart, I know your heart has to be breaking, but --
Chloe: No, Nancy, I don't want to talk to you! And I don't want to rehash all the reasons why, so good night.
Brady: Look, the fact that Chloe thinks that I put that slide in the projector is exactly why I have to find her -- to make sure she knows I had nothing to do with this. I mean, yes, I was... Fiddling with the slides, but I was just trying to figure out what was going on. That's why Kevin accused me of the whole thing.
Belle: Hey, Brady, why were you so suspicious?
Brady: A while back, I overheard Jan and Mimi talking at .Com about doing something to Chloe at the dance. And I ran into Mimi at Salem Place, where she practically admitted that something was going down.
Mimi: Chloe thought she was Miss Popularity, and a lot of kids resent that, so something definitely could happen that...
Brady: Could break up the dream team.
Mimi: Philip will not want to have anything to do with Chloe after this .
Brady: And by the way she was sneaking around the gym floor all night long...
Shawn-D: Near the slide projector.
Brady: Right. And before I could figure out exactly what was happening, there was the slide, up on the screen.
Belle: How can Mimi be involved with something so disgusting and so vicious?
Brady: To hell with Mimi! I'm worried about Chloe, and you should be, too. This is going to set her back in all sorts of ways, and we can't let that happen. We've got to be there for her, make sure she gets through this .
Shawn-D: Why are you so worried about Chloe? I thought you hated each other.
Mimi: I -I tried to stop it. I-I told Jan it was no good, That it would backfire on us.
Kevin: Unfortunately, that defense won't cut it in a court of law.
Kevin: I'm guessing all those slides had your fingerprints on them. In jurisprudence, that's called evidence. Don't get any ideas, Mimi. The school already confiscated the projector and slides.
Mimi: Oh, God, I can't go to prison. I can't! I --
Susan: Maybe in prison you'll learn what it's like to have people call you names. Maybe you'll be walking down a hallway, and all the inmates will be ragging on you.
Susan: You had it made, Mimi. You were in with the "a" crowd, and you threw it all away to get at Chloe, never once considering how what you were doing was going to affect everybody else, the same way you never thought about how calling me those awful, insulting names was affecting me.
Mimi: I never said anything as bad as Jan did.
Susan: So what? I'm not supposed to let it bother me because your insults weren't as bad as Jan's?
Mimi: I'm sorry, Susan. I never meant to hurt you.
Kevin: Did you think Susan didn't have any feelings, or maybe that her feelings didn't count? Or maybe you didn't think at all.
Susan: I'm glad I have only one more year in this school, and then I never have to see you or any of those other horrible jerks again.
Kevin: Hey! You're not talking about me, I hope.
Susan: Oh, of course not. I didn't mean you.
Mimi: Even you two have a best friend. I don't have anyone.
Susan: There you go again, throwing out more insults, implying Kevin and I don't deserve friends, and to top it off, you're feeling sorry for yourself!
Mimi: You're right. What is the matter with me? Okay, I've got to go find Belle. I've got to tell her the truth and make her believe that I tried to stop it.
Kevin: Too little, too late, Mimi. The truth is, you never should have started it.
Craig: Chloe? Chloe, sweetie?
Craig: Hey. I thought maybe you and I could, um... Have a little talk?
Chloe: Craig, if you don't mind, I'm tired. I'm going to bed.
Craig: Well... Before you go to bed, I just... Sweetie, I just wanted you to know that I understand how hurt and bad you must feel about tonight. I'm sorry, sweetie. I really am sorry. Nobody deserves that, especially you. But I'll tell you something. I have faith in you. I do. I have faith in your strength, in your intelligence, and I -I think you're going to get through this . In fact, I think you're going to be stronger because of it.
Chloe: [Sighs] Yeah, I will.
Craig: I know you will. And you know something else? As long as you're in this house -- hey, look at me. As long as you're in this house, you're not going to go through it alone, do you understand me? Oh, Chloe. I know.
Nicole: So, Philip, do you have any idea? Who else could have been involved?
Philip: My money would be on a couple of girls named Jan and Mimi.
Victor: We've met Mimi. We traveled with her.
Philip: Yeah. Yeah, that's right. Anyway, Chloe's had some pretty bad problems with them. Look, it doesn't even matter who did it. The bottom line is, I finally saw Chloe for who and what she really is, and when school starts next fall, I'm going to make her life a living hell. I'm going to roast her so bad she's going to have to transfer to another school -- hopefully, another town. Another state!
Victor: Philip --
Philip: Don't try to calm me down, dad, because I can't, okay? God, I hate her now. I hate her.
Nicole: Poor kid.
Victor: He'll get over it. In the meantime, I have to find Brady and thank him for a job well done.
Shawn-D: Come on, Brady, why the sudden interest in Chloe?
Brady: All right, Shawn, I know where you're going with this, and you're way off. What happened to Chloe tonight was the absolute worst... And I just want her to know that I had nothing to do with it. And on top of the whole thing, Philip abandons her and she's completely wrecked, and I don't want her thinking that I abandoned her, too. All right? That's it. Period. End of story. So, look, if you guys see her around, just tell her I'm looking for her, all right?
Shawn-D: He sure is worried about her.
Belle: Yeah, he is . Brady and Chloe have this sort of weird relationship that I don't exactly understand.
Shawn-D: Yeah. Well, uh, they're both a little weird.
Belle: That is my brother and best friend you're talking about.
Shawn-D: No, I'm just saying that they're alike in their... Weirdness. In a good way, though. You know, I just have a feeling that if anyone can help Chloe now, it's probably
Belle: Or it could end up being a disaster. Shawn, Chloe thinks Brady set this whole thing up, and I know her. When she thinks someone did something to her, she always finds a way to get back at them.
Shawn-D: You know, I was thinking about what Mr. Woods said tonight, about how we need to do something before the hate and anger get out of control.
Belle: Yeah, and just standing by and letting things happen is almost as bad as doing it yourself.
Shawn-D: Yeah, we just need to make things change.
Belle: But how?
Shawn-D: Well, we could start this summer on the ecology trip.
Belle: You know what? You're right. I definitely think we should go.
Shawn-D: Belle... There's something that I got to tell you. Um, can we talk outside?
Shawn: Whoa, whoa. You two leaving already? I mean, without even having dessert? We got fresh peach cobbler back there, you know.
Shawn-D: Uh, that's okay, grandpa. I'll take a rain check. I left your computer on the table. Thanks for letting me use it.
Shawn: Oh, that's fine, that's fine. Listen, tell your mom we love having JT. here, you know? We'll have him here anytime, you know? We'll baby-sit for him. We'll just --
Shawn-D: I will let her know.
Shawn: All right.
Belle: Bye, Mr. Brady.
Shawn: Bye now, and I will be seeing you soon.
Belle: Of course.
Belle: Thank you.
Belle: So, you wanted to talk to me?
Shawn-D: Yeah. Yeah. I, uh, I just wanted to be alone with you.
Belle: Alone with me.
Shawn-D: Yeah. is that okay? [Crickets chirping]
Philip: The only reason she went out with me was to be popular. Now I know why she would never say that she loved me.
Craig: It's okay. I got you, sweetie.
Chloe: I didn't want to cry.
Craig: Are you kidding? I'm glad you did. I'm glad you trust me enough to let it finally come out, sweetie. You know, I think I am finally getting to understand you.
Chloe: Pretty scary, huh?
Craig: No, no, it's great. You're great. I wouldn't want you to be anybody else but you. You know that? It's true. Tell me what you're feeling.
Chloe: Philip hurt me.
Craig: I know.
Chloe: More than I ever thought anyone could. He hurt me because he didn't believe in me. He didn't trust me, and that means that he really can't love me.
Craig: I'm sorry.
Chloe: Craig, I really need to be alone now.
Craig: Okay. I'm sorry, sweetie. You get some rest, okay? [Grunts] I'm getting old. [Sighs] Try and get some rest, okay?
Victor: Ahh. You know, that grandson of mine really came through. I've got to get him involved at Titan. As smart as he is , he could prove to be invaluable.
Nicole: He's not only smart, he's clever. If Brady decides he wants something to happen, it happens.
Victor: You know, I had no idea he had this whole thing planned out.
Nicole: You should have seen the look on Chloe's face when her naked picture flashed on the big screen.
Victor: I knew Brady would step up to the plate. I had no idea how far he'd hit it out of the park.
Nicole: Ahh, chock up the win and mission accomplished. Bye-bye, Chloe.
Victor: I'm just sorry that Philip had to go through all this .
Nicole: You know, he's young and handsome. Girls will fall all over him. He'll forget about Chloe.
Victor: Hopefully, he'll find somebody more worthy of him. Well, to a job well done.
Nicole: But you haven't heard the whole story yet. There's more good news.
Victor: Good news?
Nicole: Kate was there to chaperon, showed up dressed like some homeless bag lady.
Victor: Pulling out all the stops for sympathy, huh?
Nicole: Oh, but it gets better. She was arguing with Roman, and he grabbed her arm, and this dish rag of a dress she was wearing ripped, and she was standing there nearly as exposed as Chloe.
Victor: If you think that would please me, Nicole, you couldn't be more wrong. .
Kevin: It was very impressive, the way you stood up for yourself with Mimi.
Susan: Thanks. it felt great, and it's all thanks to you for showing me that it's time to stop taking all that crap and start fighting back.
Kevin: Way to go, Susan.
Belle: So, why -- I mean, why did you want to talk to me alone?
Shawn-D: Because this is our first date, and it's turned into a disaster.
Belle: But it wasn't your fault.
Shawn-D: I -I know. Just -- I wanted you to have a really good time.
Shawn-D: You deserve that. [Door opens]
Mimi: Belle! Oh, thank God I found you. I really need to talk to you. I am in big trouble, and you've got to help me.
Nicole: Don't shoot the messenger. I was just reporting what happened.
Victor: Kate's using this situation to make Philip feel sorry for her. I've got to put a stop to it.
Nicole: You're not thinking of giving her money, are you?
Victor: Of course not. I'm just going to make it clear to her that if she persists in this, she'll never see her son again.
Nicole: What about getting her fired from the diner?
Victor: I'm going to take care of that tomorrow, and once Kate is out of there, she'll be forced to get a decent job because she'll know I'm controlling her life and her future more than she ever realized.
Nicole: Damn it. That woman is always going to be a part of our lives. Unless... Unless I find some way to get rid of her for good.
Philip: Chloe. I thought we'd be together forever. All the plans I had for us...
Philip: God, I can't let it end like this . I got to see her. I got to talk to her to find out what has happened.
Philip: Why, Chloe?
Nancy: Craig? What happened?
Craig: We talked. We talked.
Nancy: I'm going to go up to her.
Craig: I don't think that's a good idea. She needs some time, sweetheart.
Nancy: You know, Craig, at least she didn't blame me for what happened tonight.
Craig: No, she didn't. In fact, I think this is going to be a good opportunity for the two of you to get closer. For the first time, I think she's starting to realize that you've been right about Philip Kiriakis all along.
Chloe: Full moon. How romantic.
Brady: Chloe, it wasn't me.
Chloe: What? Brady.
Brady: Chloe, what you accused me of tonight -- it wasn't me. I didn't do it.
