Jennifer: And, Hope, I'm very grateful to Jack for saving me, but I-I just don't know where he fits in to my life right now, but you know what? I don't want to talk about me anymore. I don't want to talk about my problems.
Hope: All right. Let's talk about something else. I have to ask, though. Are you going to give Jack Deveraux another chance? [Pouring tea]
Jack: Greta, do you really hate men?
Greta: In my experience, most men just don't measure up.
Jack: Then I'd say your experience is sadly limited. It's a good thing I've come into your life, princess.
Greta: Are you coming on to me, Jack?
John: The only way Brady can know Isabella is through my memories of her, and that is why I keep them alive -- for my son.
Marlena: That's very sweet and very touching. My problem is, however, that for months, for years, ever since Brady was 14 years old, he's been blaming me for Isabella's death. I've been competing for your love with a ghost. I'm losing...badly. So...I'll leave you alone with Isabella.
Marlena: This isn't working.
Brady: What's with the wet head look?
Belle: I am late! Duh! Chloe's waiting so we can walk to school. Where is my Spanish homework?
Brady: Ah! Yo tengo la tarea espaŮol, Belle. Not bad, huh?
Belle: Muchas gracias. Oh, I hate being late.
Brady: Oh, will you relax? I'll give you and the diva a ride to school.
Abe: Yeah, yeah, my wife Lexie had an appointment for our son Isaac's one-year checkup. Yeah, well, have they arrived yet? Excuse me? It's not until next week? Are you sure? Uh, no, no, no. That's okay. I guess I must have gotten the dates confused. Yeah, thank you. Damn it. More lies. When the hell is this going to stop?! Damn. Damn you, Stefano. You've messed with our lives for the last time.
Glen: Aunt Elsie, what's wrong with my son? Why's he so quiet? Isaac. Isaac!
Elsie: Honey, Iím sorry to say, but it looks like your baby's dead.
Barb: The cops are out there. Great. Now I'm hiding from the law, wanted for kidnapping. Still no messages. Damn it, Glen. Call me. You've got the wrong baby, and you don't even know it.
Barb: What is this? Salem Police Department?
Barb: [Southern accent] Uh, howdy, y'all. Can I talk to Officer Bo Brady? It's about his baby.
Roman: All right, it's time to bust DiMera. Move in, guys.
Bo: It's Lexie.
Roman: What the hell is she doing here? Hold your positions. Damn it.
Stefano: Ah, thank God. Come in, come in. [Chuckles] Ah, my daughter and my grandson. You two are my life, but now we have to find our way to a place where no one can find us.
Lexie: No, no. I'm not going. I've decided I can't leave Salem. I canít.
Roman: All right, hold your positions. Wait for orders. No gunfire while Lexie Carver and the baby are in the mansion. Damn it.
Bo: We didn't let Abe in on this operation so Lexie wouldn't warn her father. Looks like she's going to do it anyway.
Roman: Well, that bastard's not getting away. We got every exit covered. As soon as
Lexie and Isaac leave we're moving in.
Combs: Bo, call just came in for you. It's about your missing son.
Bo: Have them trace it.
Bo: It's Brady. You have a phone call for me. Patch it through. Hello. This is Detective Bo Brady.
Barb: [Southern accent] Yeah, I've got some news about your baby.
Bo: Where is he? Is he okay?
Barb: Look, we didn't mean no harm, okay?
Bo: Tell me where he is, damn it. Is he okay? Barb, is that you? Glen's wife?
Barb: No way. I don't know any Glen.
Bo: Drop the act. I know it's you.
Barb: [Normal voice] Look, I got to go, okay?
Bo: No, wait, wait, wait. Please, don't -- don't hang up. If you saw the news reports, you know that we don't want to press charges as long as we get our son back unharmed. Now, there has been a serious mistake here. You thought you had Abe and Lexie's boy Isaac, but you donít. You've got mine, John Thomas. Now, listen to me very carefully. My son's had a very serious medical condition since he was born. In fact, he could be sick right now.
Glen: Okay, he's okay.
Glen: I mean, he's all right now, right?
Elsie: I can't say.
Glen: Well, I mean, he's crying. I mean, that sounds good.
Elsie: Oh, come here, Glen. Look. Look at his chest. Poor little critter. See that scar? This young'un's had an operation of some kind.
Glen: Operation? He's only a year old.
Elsie: Oh, a baby don't wail like that unless he's in real pain. Maybe he has trouble breathing. Oh, poor little mite. He needs some proper doctoring, Glen, at a real hospital.
Glen: No, we can't take him to a hospital. I brought him here, Aunt Elsie. Please, just make him better.
Elsie: Shh. Where's his mom? Did you break her heart, or did she break yours?
Glen: No, her name was Marlo. She's dead. Some rich couple adopted him.
Elsie: He's adopted? Then what are you doing --
Glen: Look, they lied to me. I mean, they wouldn't let me see him, so I took him. I'm going to prove that he's mine.
Elsie: Are you telling me that the law's looking for you? No good. Unh-unh. I don't want the cops around here.
Roman: We got officers stationed every 20 feet around this mansion. Just let DiMera try and get away.
Stefano: Oh, good, Eliana, you're here. Please take the baby. I want to talk to my daughter.
Lexie: Thank you, thank you, thank you. Okay, sweetie. Mommy will see you soon, okay?
Stefano: Good boy. Huh? Look what a good boy you are.
Lexie: Be careful with her.
Stefano: Come here, come here, come here, come here. What do you mean you have decided not to leave? You must leave.
Lexie: Father, will you listen to me? Glen has a court order preventing me from taking Isaac out of the country. I can't get a passport for him.
Stefano: Ah, I see. Little Isaac is not the only innocent here. All right.
Stefano: [Humming] One for me... One for you... And one for little Isaac. Huh?
Lexie: Father, these are fake.
Stefano: They do not have our real names, but the photographs are of us. No one is
going to question our identities.
Lexie: I'm a criminal. This is the future you have for me, as a fugitive from justice. No. No, no, no. Unh-unh. I won't do it. I won't do it.
Stefano: There is no other way. The police have a witness who is willing to testify to seeing Marloís remains in this house. You want to continue mothering your child, then you have to get him out of the country now.
Lexie: But, father, you keep forgetting I have a husband.
Stefano: For goodness' sake, how many times do I have to tell you, Alexandra? Forget about Abraham. Once you have reached safety, then perhaps we can make arrangements to have Abraham join us.
Lexie: Unh-unh. Mnh-mnh. Abe would never break the law, not intentionally. Not even for me.
Stefano: Any man who would not put his wife and child above all else, including the law, deserves to lose them.
Jack: Coming on to you? What ever gave you that idea?
Greta: So you're not interested in sex?
Jack: I find sex a highly pleasurable pastime when pursued with the right person, the right time, the right place. A moonlit beach would be right at the top of my list. But I digress. Actually, sex got me into a lot of trouble with Jennifer. My wife found me a flop in the romance department.
Greta: I-I'm sorry. Um, you know what? We -- we don't really need to talk about this if you don't want to.
Jack: Oh, no, no, no, no, no. You got me wrong. I could perform. I was boffo when it came to the main event. It was just my wooing that my wife found wanting. I forgot special occasions, I never did the flower or candy thing at all, and apparently I took for granted her getting in the mood without actually bothering to try to get her in the mood, if you get what I mean.
Greta: Well, I think Jennifer's right. I think that men need to be more romantic.
Jack: Uh-huh. So you haven't given up on men entirely.
Greta: No. I-I thought I had found someone that had potential.
Greta: In fact, I thought I had found the perfect guy for me.
Jack: Sounds like true love.
Greta: How can you love someone when they treat you like their buddy? I mean, even in garden paradise when warm baby oil was raining down on our naked bodies, it was --
Jack: Lost me. Garden...Naked?
Greta: It's a long story.
Jack: I've got nothing but time.
Greta: We were, um... We were in virtual Eden.
Jack: Lost again.
Greta: Well, we were lost. We were definitely lost -- in space and in time, in each other's arms -- and more than once, may I add. It was this test that we had to go through -- that I had to go through in order to become a princess.
Jack: Could we go back to that part about the warm baby oil? Never mind. Forget it. Wouldn't want you corrupting me.
Greta: Yeah, well, I'm sure Austin wishes he could forget about it, too. It's not like he went through any of it willingly. Although he did seem to enjoy it at the time.
Jack: Oh, baby, I bet he did. Warm baby oil on glistening naked bodies? Ahh!
Jennifer: I really can't think about Jack like that right now. All I'm saying is that I have seen a new side to my husband.
Jennifer: Husband? Where did that come from? Hope, I n-- we haven't been married for years. I never even think of him like that anymore, ever. Never. Ever!
Hope: Okay, it's fine. I believe you. But when you say you're seeing another side of Jack, what exactly are you talking about?
Jennifer: Well, there's just been a couple times. I mean, moments, really, when he just seems like the man that I -- the Jack that I --
Hope: The Jack you fell in love with? The Jack you're still in love with?
Belle: The closer we get to the end of the school year, the harder it gets for me to wake up in the morning. I mean, as soon as my alarm goes off, I just pull those covers right back over my head, which is why I am a wet head today. Oh, and thank you, Brady, for making me feel so beautiful this morning, really. I have never taken a faster shower in my entire life. Oh, Chloe, you know what? The last blast is coming up soon. We should really go and try on some outfits sometime. And speaking of hair, I would love to come up with a new 'do. Of course, I guess I should come up with a date first, huh?
Marlena: John, last night --
John: Shh. Last night... Was last night. It's a new day.
Marlena: We said things to each other last --
John: Let me say something to you right now. You are the most beautiful, sensitive woman in this whole world, and I thank God every day that you are mine -- all... mine.
Marlena: I said some things about Isabella that --
John: Isabella is a part of my past. You are my wife now, and I love you now. You're my present, my future. You know that, sweetheart.
Marlena: I needed to hear you say that. I love you so much.
John: I love you.
John: No, no, no, no. You stay right here.
Marlena: No, I was going to get up and get you breakfast in bed.
John: No, no, no. I want to get you breakfast in bed, so you just lie right back here and stay as beautiful as you are.
John: Don't you go away. All right?
Marlena: Don't be gone a long -- juice and coffee are enough.
John: Doc! Doc, can you come down here?
Marlena: Hey. Last time I looked, the coffee filters were in the -- John? Honey, what's the matter?
John: It's true. My son was kidnapped.
Glen: Shh. It's okay. It's okay.
Elsie: Walking and rocking ain't gonna do the trick for that young'un. He's bad sick. He needs a doctor to check him proper.
Glen: I'm counting on you, Aunt Elsie. I mean, isn't there something you could do for him, something you can give him to fix my baby up?
Elsie: Those choking sounds he's making -- it's way past my home remedies. You need to take him to the County Clinic. It's the only way you're going to save him.
Now get going, Glen. Get going now!
Roman: Damn it. If this thing backfires 'cause Lexie showed up...
Combs: Should we call Commander Carver?
Roman: No. No, it's better if we do this ourselves. All right. Combs, cover me, okay? I'm going to get a little bit closer, try to see what the hell's going on in there.
Combs: Be careful.
Lexie: Father, you're asking me to give up the only life that Iíve known.
Stefano: If you don't, you're going to lose your child.
Lexie: It's all happening so fast. Can't you make it slow down?
Stefano: Oh, sweetheart, sweetheart. I would stop time for you if I could, you know that. But I would only be postponing the inevitable, sweetheart. [ Telephone rings] [ring]
Abe: Is my wife there?
Stefano: Abraham, I presume, no, she's not. I --
Lexie: Abe, Iím here. I'm here.
Stefano: What the hell are you doing?
Abe: Lexie, Lexie, what are you doing?
Lexie: Abe, I love you. I need you.
Abe: Lexie, I love you, too. Listen, I am here for you. But you have to tell me what's going on. Why did you run out of here with Isaac? And why are you at Stefano's?
Lexie: I wish I could tell you.
Abe: Lexie, you can tell me anything. Anything. I'll understand.
Lexie: It's Isaac. Glen and Barb can't have him, Abe. They can't have my son.
Abe: Listen to me. Your father is a very dangerous man, especially to you and our son. Now no matter what he says, he can't help you. He won't help you. I want you to take the baby, and I want you to come home so I can protect you. Sweetheart, your father has you under some kind of spell. But I'm gonna break it right now.
Lexie... Come home to me, please.
Chloe: Even if you can't dance, Brady, I'm sure you'd find a way to amuse yourself at the last blast dance. I mean, all those high school kids to make fun of? You'd be in heaven.
Brady: Sounds like you want me to go to the dance, Chloe.
Chloe: Me? I don't care if you go or not. I'll be with Philip. I was just thinking about your sister. I mean, since she's the only one that you're actually nice to or even care about.
Brady: Well, maybe you don't know me that well.
Belle: Well, if the two of you would stop arranging my social schedule... No offense,
Brady. I'd be really happy if you went to the dance, but I was kind of hoping a guy who wasn't related to me would ask me to go.
John: Yeah, John Black, that's right. I'm a friend of Bo and Hope Brady. Any word on their baby boy? I see. Yeah. Yeah, thanks. Well, they're expanding the search. They're calling in the F.B.I.
Marlena: Look, I know this is all frightening, but, you know, with the story in the paper and most likely on the news, I'm sure this couple will realize they've got the wrong baby and bring back Bo and Hope's son. I mean, your son.
John: My feelings don't matter right now. J.T. is out there somewhere with people we don't know, and I can't stay here. I've got to help find him.
Marlena: You were in the search all night after the accident. What can you possibly do now? What? What is it?
John: That's it. My God, I think I know what happened.
Brady: Got you here with time to spare.
Belle: Thanks, Brady.
Brady: Chloe, good luck on your Chem. exam. It's been real. We should do it again sometime.
Belle: Well, that was fascinating.
Chloe: What was?
Belle: Brady was actually nice to you.
Chloe: I don't know what you're talking about.
Belle: Oh, come on, yes, you do. I mean, the way he said, "well, maybe you don't know me that well." I mean, what was that?
Chloe: It was a statement of fact. I don't know Brady that well.
Belle: You know, for a smart girl, Chloe, you're being awfully dense. What Iím trying to say is it looks like Brady doesn't hate you anymore. This is huge.
Jennifer: Oh, please don't say the "l" word. I mean, not in relationship to Jack. I mean, I can't go there. I mean, Hope, I haven't been there in years. And I just -- I'm just saying Iíve seen new qualities in Jack, that's all. But honest to God, when I was in that car, Hope, and I was in the gravest danger of my life, I couldn't even think what to do, and -- and Jack just took over, and he stayed so calm, and -- and he wouldn't give up. And he wouldn't let me give up. And he wouldn't let me go.
Hope: It's all right.
Jennifer: I mean, Hope, if Jack hadn't come after me that night, I wouldn't be here. He saved my life.
Jack: Now, the baby oil -- are we talking scented, vanilla, jasmine, patchouli?
Greta: What possessed me to tell you this story? Why am I even talking to you?
Jack: You're hoping that somehow through interaction with me, you'll figure out a way to snare the male of your dreams.
Greta: I have no intention of snaring any man. Jack, can I rely on you to be discreet for once in your life? Please? I'm asking you not to tell anybody what I told you.
Jack: I hate keeping promises. Takes all the fun out of life. Besides, I was planning on writing a whole series of articles about you and your adventures in -- what did
you call it? Oh, yes. Virtual Eden.
Greta: Series of articles?
Jack: You'd get final approval, of course, especially since it's going to appear in the publication that you're bankrolling for me.
Greta: I never promised you a job.
Jack: But Iím one hell of a writer.
Greta: You know, this is a sure-fire way for me to lose my royal inheritance.
Jack: You can't take it with you, even if you're a princess. Besides, I need to make a living. I've got to support my daughter and my...Jennifer.
Greta: Does this mean that you and Jennifer have a future?
Jack: We most emphatically have a future -- as Abigail Deverauxís mother and father. Anything more than that is really up to that big matchmaker in the sky, barring any unforeseen occurrences, like warm baby oil raining down.
Jack: Uh...Mm. May those words never pass my lips again. But seriously, I take my responsibilities for my daughter... Well, seriously. And besides, she deserves happiness. Same goes for Jennifer.
Greta: You can be very mature when you want to be, Jack.
Jack: Let's just keep that our little secret, shall we? I've got a reputation to maintain. Now, come on, let's go.
Greta: Wait a second. You can't just drag me off.
Jack: I was born too late. Caveman days -- that was my time. Now, if you want to know the real Jack Deveraux, you've got to learn to walk on the wild side, baby.
Jack: [Growls] Come on, let's go!
Bo: Barb, please, help me get my son back.
Barb: Look, I called you, didn't I? There's nothing more I can do.
Bo: And calling was the right thing.
Barb: I am trying.
Bo: You're a good person, Barb. I've known that about you all along. I mean, you're an innocent in this thing, and Iím sure you didn't want to get mixed up in it. But you're married to Glen, and what can I say? You got caught in the middle.
Barb: No, I love Glen.
Bo: Well, Iím sure you do, and I love my family. That's why I want to get my son back.
Barb: Look, the last time I saw him, he was doing okay.
Bo: Well, well, that's good. That's good. Um... Will you promise me something?
Barb: I don't know.
Bo: If you hear from Glen, just tell him to bring my son home. Tell him that I promise him personally there will be no trouble. You guys will be okay. Just have him bring my son home. After everything he's been through, he probably needs some medical assistance.
Barb: Oh, my God, I gotta go, I gotta go.
Bo: Barb, wait. W-- damn it! Damn it.
Glen: Hello? Somebody help me. My baby's sick. He was crying all the way here, and now he's having trouble breathing.
Man: Get me oxygen, stat. I don't like his color. Wait here.
Glen: He's going to be okay, right? Damn. [Telephone rings] [ring]
Barb: Nobody home.
Glen: Babe, it's me.
Barb: Glen --
Glen: Listen, Barb. We've got trouble here. The baby's really sick.
Barb: You don't know the half of it. Have you seen the TV? You've got the wrong baby.
Abe: Lexie, please come home.
Lexie: Father, I can't do this.
Stefano: Just tell him not to worry. Assure him that all will be well. All right? Because if you don't, we are going to have the entire police department breathing down our necks, and you will lose Isaac.
Lexie: Oh, God.
Stefano: Do you hear me, Alexandra? You will lose your child.
Lexie: Abe, honey, um, I'll be home with Isaac in a few minutes, okay?
Abe: Listen, I'm going to come and pick you up. You sound too upset to drive.
Lexie: No, honey, Iím fine. I just needed to hear your voice. I'll be home soon.
Stefano: You did that very well. Very sincere. Alexandra, you did lie to Abraham just now, did you not? All right, you and Isaac have to come with me now. Hmm? You have no other choice. If you want to keep your child, you have to leave now.
Brady: "Maybe you don't know me that well"? What the hell was that? Come on, toughen up, Brady. Get back on your feet! You're starting to act like a wimp. "Maybe you don't know me that well"! God, Iíve never said anything that trite to anyone, let alone one of Belle's friends.
Chloe: Brady, I've never had to face what you're facing right now, but I can relate to it. And I know that the last thing that you want right now is pity. I'm just saying that if you ever need anything or if you just need someone to talk to... Even if it will make you feel better to dis my singing. Oh, I saw that smile. You know Iím on the right track, don't you?
Brady: I don't need anyone.
John: Marlena, as soon as you put DiMera in the mix, it all becomes very clear, doesn't it? Remember how upset Lexie was the night of the explosion?
Marlena: Well, yes, but she was waiting for the results of the D.N.A. -- oh.
John: And the Eastside Lab was blown to bits. And who benefited, even temporarily? Lexie and Stefano.
Marlena: But how would that tie into J.T.'s disappearance?
John: Two other people were waiting for those test results, weren't they? Barb and Glen?
Marlena: So you think when the lab blew up, they took the opportunity... To kidnap Isaac? Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. J.T. was in Isaac's car seat. They hadn't spent that much time with the baby, so they might not realize the mistake right away.
John: Perhaps. Or perhaps DiMeraís working another angle here, and he set everything up to make it play out that way.
Marlena: But they found the baby on the riverbank. Isn't that the theory?
John: Or maybe DiMera has positioned those people here in town so he could take J.T. away from Bo and Hope.
Marlena: Does Stefano think that J.T. is his son?
John: No, Doc, he knows he's my son. What Iím saying is, this kidnapping is his ultimate plan to control my life.
Marlena: John --
John: Damn it, there's no way he's gonna let a Brady raise the son of his greatest creation John black!
Marlena: That's diabolical.
John: No, it's Stefano DiMera, and damn it, he's not getting away with it.
Marlena: John --
John: I've got to do this. Now maybe nobody knows that Iím J.T.'s father, but I know, and I'm not going to stand around here. I'm going to go save my baby.
Greta: Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Jack: Whoa, whoa!
Greta: With roller lading, it's better if you stay straight up.
Jack: Nice one, yeah.
Greta: I'm serious. Why don't you just get up a little speed here?
Jack: You want me to speed up? I can barely stand. And now I canít...Stop! Oh!
Oh! Oh! I'll send you a check!
Man: Hey, you, come back! I don't take checks, buddy!
Greta: Jack? Jack! Jack!
Man: I'll be right back.
Jack: Ahh...Ohh... Whoa!
Greta: Aah! [Both laughing]
Man: What was that all about?
Jack: Do you have any idea who this young lady is?
Man: I don't care if she's Madonna. You're still paying for the bag.
Jack: You're not much of an entrepreneur, are you? A smart businessman would know what an honor it is to have his lowly popcorn in the hand of the Princess Greta von Amberg of France.
Man: I want my money.
Jack: He settled for pennies when he could have had millions.
Man: Lady, your friend's cracked.
Jack: It's time to get a job. Royal popcorn -- got a ring to it, you know? By order of Princess Greta von Amberg of France.
Greta: You know what? Get your head out of the clouds and let's skate.
Jack: Princess, look out! [Horn honks]
Jennifer: I mean, Hope, that night on the bridge was like a test for Jack.
Hope: A test of his love for you.
Jennifer: Well, really like an endurance test, like he wanted so desperately to prove that he could be a hero. So, in some way, it could have been anyone in the car.
Hope: But it wasn't. It was you. Jack saved you, Jen. He showed you how much he --
Jennifer: What? Oh, my gosh, what? Are you okay?
Hope: It's J.T. I just got this terrible feeling.
Marlena: Please be careful out there, John.
Brady: Damn cane. Ahh! [Panting]
Brady: I've got to walk again. I cannot live the rest of my life like this.
Chloe: So, you're saying that Brady wants to be my friend?
Belle: Maybe that's going a little far, but at least he's not acting like you're his enemy anymore. And for Brady, that is huge. He's kind of the type to hold a grudge, you know? But it looks like he's going to give you a break.
Chloe: Hmm. Lucky me. [Bell rings]
Belle: Oh, come on. We're gonna be late.
Chloe: I'm coming.
Belle: Hurry it up. [Tires screech]
Greta: You just saved my life, Jack.
Jack: Well, you know what that means. You owe me, Princess.
Jennifer: Hope, what? What kind of a feeling?
Hope: Like some-- like something terrible has happened.
Jennifer: What? To J.T.? Tell me. Hope, what is it?
Hope: I can't catch my breath. Oh, my God, what if he's sick? He needs me. He needs his mother. Oh, dear God, please. Please, you've helped my little boy before. He's in danger. Please protect him.
Man: That scar on the baby's chest -- what kind of surgery was that?
Glen: Could you just give me a minute? What do you mean, the wrong kid? Whose kid is it?
Barb: Bo and Hope's. He's their son J.T.
Glen: What's wrong with him?
Barb: He had this real serious condition, this fetal alcohol syndrome.
Glen: Oh, jeez, that's right. All right. The baby's got fetal alcohol syndrome. Is he going to be okay?
Man: You better pray you got him here in time.
Stefano: Alexandra, be brave. You bring your son, and we go. We must leave now.
Roman: All right, we got to move in now.
Bo: Hold up. We got a problem.
John: Come on, DiMera, open it up... or I will! All right, where are you, you lousy bastard?
Stefano: What in God's name --
John: Don't you mention God. You haven't earned the right.
Stefano: What the hell are you doing?
John: What did you do with my boy? Damn it, what have you done with my son, DiMera?
