Episode #8067 ~ Brooke is stunned when Ridge gives Taylor a free pass for wanting what's best for Steffy; Katie and Bill find humor in their situation.

Provided By Suzanne

Will: You're not mad?

Bill: For you charging expensive meals on my credit card?

Will: Yeah, and for trying to set you and mommy up.

Bill: Oh. Uh... no. No, I'm not mad at you for that.

Katie: I'm not mad, either. You little trickster.

Bill: Yeah, what are you doing playing matchmaker for your mother and me?

Katie: Hmm.

Will: Bet I was the last person you thought it would be.

Bill: [ Chuckles ]

Katie: We had our suspects.

Bill: Justin, wyatt, even -- even donna.

Katie: Yeah.

Bill: But no, not you.

Will: So it worked?

Bill: Well, let's just say i am very impressed with your determination. You have to believe in your dreams.

Will: Like building one of the most successful corporations in the world?

Bill: Absolutely.

Katie: [ Chuckles ]

Bill: But more important than that, you have to believe in the power of family.

Brooke: [ Sighs ]

Ridge: Hey.

Brooke: Mm.

Ridge: Did you order dinner?

Brooke: Yeah. I-I did, actually. I ordered you some salmon.

Ridge: Oh, good. Thank you. You seem like you're somewhere else. You okay?

Brooke: Yeah. Yeah, just... I can't stop thinking about taylor. The nerve of that woman. Really.

Ridge: She -- [ Sighs ] She just wants to make sure that her grandson has a mother figure.

Brooke: Well, so do I. But hope? Hope is married to liam.

Ridge: I know. And I think she realizes that.

Brooke: Really? Then why does she keep bringing up hope and thomas? Why does she bring that up?

Ridge: I-I don't know why. But I put a stop to it right away.

Brooke: Good. And I get that she wants what's best for her grandson, but does she really think that hope and thomas and douglas can be a family? That's crazy.

Douglas: Can you really skateboard?

Hope: It has been a while, but I used to do it all the time when I was a kid.

Douglas: That's so cool.

Thomas: Douglas is just learning.

Hope: Oh, really? Well, that is awesome. We'll have to go down to the boardwalk sometime.

Douglas: Can we go now?

Thomas: Oh, no. We -- we got to ready for bed, right?

Douglas: But I want to hang out with hope.

Hope: Hey, we will go skateboarding sometime soon.

Douglas: Promise?

Hope: Promise.

Douglas: Pinky swear?

Hope: Pinky swear.

Douglas: I have another question.

Hope: Oh, yeah? What's that?

Donna: Do you really think it was will playing matchmaker with his parents? I mean, come on.

Wyatt: I would be thoroughly impressed if it was. So what's the verdict, huh? Guilty? Innocent?

Justin: My money is on guilty.

Bill: Ding, ding, ding. Tell him what he's won, bob.

Donna: It was will?

Katie: Yep.

Donna: Will set you up?

Katie: Yep. If you can believe it.

Donna: Oh!

Bill: Oh, come on. I mean, this is my genius son we're talking about. I should have known it wasn't any of you clowns. None of you are clever enough to pull it off.

Brooke: [ Sighs ]

Ridge: Can you do me a big favor? Can you please not make a big deal out of this? Taylor is -- is just concerned about her grandson. He just lost his mother.

Brooke: I'm sorry, ridge, but that's not all that's motivating her.

Ridge: [ Sighs ] Maybe not. Maybe it's crossed her mind that, somewhere down the road, steffy and liam might find their way back to each other.

Brooke: Crossed her mind? It's more than crossed her mind.

Ridge: Maybe. We don't know any of this.

Brooke: Taylor told me herself that she wants liam to go back to steffy.

Ridge: O-okay. But she would never use douglas to make that happen.

Brooke: Are you sure about that? I think that hope and douglas can help heal each other. They've both suffered a terrible loss. But hope and thomas together? No. No, I am sorry. That is just not going to happen.

Douglas: Can we watch movies down here? It's a cool place.

Hope: [ Laughs ] Of course. You can come down here any time you want, douglas.

Douglas: Mom and I used to watch a lot of movies. Mom knew which ones were the scary parts.

Hope: Well, I will be sure to cover your eyes if there is ever a monster coming, okay? Hey, douglas come here. Let me tell you something. I know you miss your mommy. All right? And nothing can ever replace her. But I'm here for you. Okay? If you ever need a friend. Does that sound good? Okay.

Reese's eggs are back

and we hid them

Donna: I always knew my nephew was a smart cookie, but this was amazing.

Bill: Even hacked into our calendars. Made me think I was having lunch with the mayor.

Wyatt: [ Exclaims ]

Bill: And then look who strolled in.

Katie: Someone decidedly not the mayor.

Donna: Right, right. The day that you thought you were meeting brooke.

Katie: Yep.

Bill: One of the more enjoyable lunches I've had in a long time.

Katie: It was very nice.

Wyatt: So will really worked some magic, huh?

Justin: Who knew he was such a romantic?

Bill: Oh, come on, now. Of course the kid's got game. Learned from the master, didn't he?

Justin: [ Mimics explosion ]

Katie: I-it was very sweet of him to go through all that effort.

Donna: Sweet? It -- it was adorable.

Katie: [ Laughs ]

Donna: He is gonna make a great boyfriend for some lucky girl one day.

Katie: Um, way, way down the road.

Donna: Way.

Katie: Like 25 years down the road.

Donna: Okay, okay. But most guys could learn a thing or two from him. He's all class, all the way.

Justin: You know what? I'm really proud of the little guy, trying to hook you two up. Shows how much he loves you and his family.

Wyatt: I just have one question, though.

Thomas: Hey. Douglas had a busy day. He conked right out.

Ridge: Well, a good night's sleep is gonna help him. It's gonna help you, too.

Thomas: Thanks again for letting us stay here, dad.

Ridge: Of course. Stay as long as you want. We love having you.

Thomas: It's good to be around family. I don't think I could do this on my own.

Ridge: You don't have to. We'll help you. We're here to support you.

Thomas: I appreciate it.

Ridge: You okay?

Thomas: All I can really think about is douglas. Trying to ease his pain. I mean, he -- he -- he lost his mom. He's a kid without a mother. How am I supposed to help him? How am I supposed to tell him everything's gonna be okay? He won't even remember who caroline was.

Ridge: Well, that's your job. You have to tell him stories, remind him how great his mom was. Keep her memory alive.

Thomas: She loved him so much. And I -- [ Sighs ] I can be there for him. I could be the best dad in the world, but it's not the same.

Ridge: No. Mothers and sons. It's, um... it's very special. But you're a good dad. You are. You got to know that.

Thomas: I'm trying. It's just... it's been hard trying to connect with him lately. But there is one person he seems to find comfort with these days.

Brooke: So you're all alone here? I thought liam was gonna be back from work by now.

Hope: Well, he had a late meeting. But he'll be home soon.

Brooke: Oh. Lucky me. I get to spend some time alone with my daughter.

Hope: [ Chuckles ]

Brooke: So, how was it? With thomas and douglas?

Hope: Um... it was good. Considering.

Brooke: Douglas was very excited to see you. It's sweet how much he asks about you.

Hope: Well, good. I mean, I'm -- I'm happy to be here for him.

Brooke: Yeah. Me too.

Hope: Although I do think i just committed myself to going skateboarding.

Brooke: [ Laughs ] Skateboarding? How adorable.

Hope: Mom, I have not done it in years.

Brooke: Honey, you were good at skateboarding. It's gonna come right back, I promise you.

Hope: Well, hopefully.

Brooke: Maybe you and liam could do it with douglas together.

Hope: Yeah.

Brooke: Yeah.

Hope: That would be fun. I mean, we haven't made an actual plan, but I did promise. In fact, I pinky swore.

Brooke: You pinky swore?

Hope: Oh, yes.

Brooke: [ Laughs ] Oh, my gosh. You guys have quite the rapport.

Hope: Yeah. I have a feeling that he's kind of craving some female energy right now.

Brooke: Mm.

Hope: Understandably. Actually, the -- the other day he asked me if i could be his mommy.

Allergies with sinus

congestion and pressure?

Thomas: I'm glad douglas has found someone he can talk to in hope.

Ridge: Me too.

Thomas: Not surprised, though.

Ridge: No, me neither. She's a compassionate woman who's been through a lot, and I think it's good for her to be around kids right now.

Thomas: Yeah. I -- I hope so. I don't want douglas to be a constant reminder of what she's lost.

Ridge: I don't think it is. I-I think it's healing for her.

Thomas: Hope's really special. She's, uh... she's patient, and she shows so much empathy. I respect that so much about her. She put all of her heartbreak aside just so she could help a kid feel better. That says a lot about who she is.

Ridge: I'm sorry. I wish there was something I could do.

Thomas: No, you -- you're doing everything you can, dad. Look, I'm just glad douglas can be around you, be around his grandpa. And be around hope. I mean, we're lucky to have her so close by.

Ridge: Yeah, we are. Very lucky. She's happy that douglas is here. Let's keep something in mind, thomas. She's a married woman. She's married to liam.

Brooke: Oh, thank you. So [Sighs] Douglas asked if you would be his mother.

Hope: Yes. It was heartbreaking.

Brooke: Was thomas here?

Hope: Yep. Uh, douglas was talking about how much he missed his mother. He was really upset.

Brooke: Well, that must have been a shock to both of you. So how did you handle it?

Hope: Ummm... neither one of us really knew what to say. And, honestly, after having just lost beth, it was really difficult hearing a child ask to call me mommy.

Brooke: I bet. But, honey, you're not douglas' mother.

Hope: I mean, obviously I'm not caroline. But I tried to be as gentle as i could, you know, and assure him that I would be here for him.

Brooke: [ Sighs ]

Hope: What?

Brooke: Nothing.

Hope: Mom. I can tell you're worried about something. What is it?

Brooke: Honey, I --

[ Sighs ] I just want you to take care of yourself.

Hope: I am.

Brooke: I want you to focus on your life and on your marriage and your future with liam.

Hope: Mom --

Brooke: I think it's really important. It's a priority. And you may want to have a family someday. Of -- of course, when you're ready.

Wyatt: How did will figure out your passwords?

Katie: Well, mine is his birthday.

Donna: Oh, my god.

Bill: Same here.

Wyatt: Wha--

Justin: Oh!

Wyatt: Are you serious?

Donna: You too? I mean, even I know better than that.

Bill: All right, everybody relax. They're just our personal tablets. And, anyway, um... I don't know. Maybe it was fated. We were meant to be hacked by our own son.

Katie: It was pretty ingenious what he did.

Wyatt: Yeah, I mean, I guess kids are getting more and more savvy these days.

Justin: Yeah.

Bill: Actually, I'm very proud of our son. He said something interesting upstairs -- that maybe he could see something that katie and I can'T.

Wyatt: Well, I think he could be right.

Justin: I've been saying that for months.

Katie: Okay. All right. You guys are getting way too caught up in this.

Bill: Katie's right. I mean [Sighs] You know, the distraction has been fun. But now that our mystery, uh, matchmaker has been revealed, we can all go back to our regularly-scheduled lives.

Justin: Oh, please. You don't think we're just gonna let you drop this?

Donna: Yeah. You can't pretend like you didn't enjoy your time together.

Katie: We had fun, sure, but this is where it ends.

Wyatt: Come on.

Katie: Okay. I'm sorry to disappoint all of you, but the show's over. So time to go.

Bill: Yep. Time for you to leave.

Donna: I live here.

Bill: Justin.

Justin: Yeah?

Bill: Do me a favor. Take donna to dinner, on me. And take this one with you.

Wyatt: You know what, normally I would be offended. But I like a free dinner.

Bill: Good. Because this party's over. You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here.

Wyatt: Fine. Let's go to dinner, guys.

Justin: Well.

Wyatt: And let's get a really, really, really expensive bottle of wine.

Justin: Yes. An '82.

Bill: You should absolutely do that, wyatt, 'cause I'll just be taking it out of your paycheck.

Wyatt: '83 is good. Good seeing you, dad.

Donna: Champagne!

Bill: See you later.

Wyatt: See you at work.

[ Justin and donna whooping ]

Katie: Oh, my gosh. Can you believe them?

Bill: Yeah.

Katie: Oh!

Bill: And how about that son of ours?

Katie: [ Scoffs ] Yeah. That son of ours. Who's just like his father.

Bill: [ Chuckles ]

Hope: I don't want to talk about having another baby, mom.

Brooke: Sweetheart, I know a child is something that you yearn for. You and liam both want a family together.

Brooke: I tried. And I can't go through that again.

Brooke: [ Sighs ] Okay, life isn't that cruel. It's not gonna happen again.

Hope: Okay. Then what about caroline? Hm? What about that little boy? My heart breaks for him because he lost his mother at such a young age.

Brooke: And it is horrible. But it's great that you can spend this time with him right now.

Hope: Well, of course. I mean, I want to help in any way I can.

Brooke: Because that's who you are. You are a sweet, kind, loving woman, and you do so much for others. But, honey, sometimes you have to think about yourself. And your recovery from beth. You have to nurture your life and your marriage. You have a wonderful husband. Please don't let anything get in the way of that.

Thomas: I know hope is married. Why would you think you have to remind me?

Ridge: Because hope is a beautiful, thoughtful young woman who is giving your son something that he's lost.

Thomas: Okay. I-I think I know where you're going with this. And I appreciate your concern. But my sole focus is on douglas right now, and guiding him through the tragedy of losing his mother.

Ridge: Just making sure there's no confusion, thomas.

Thomas: There's nothing to worry about, dad, okay?

Ridge: Okay.

Thomas: Okay.

Ridge: All right.

Thomas: Yeah.

Ridge: Good.

Thomas: Good. Just, uh -- we're just doing our best.

Ridge: I know. Come here. I love you.

Thomas: I love you, too, dad.

Katie: When chef chambre rolled that gourmet dinner into your office, it was epic.

Bill: Well, kid has expensive taste, that's for sure.

Katie: How long do you think he was gonna keep this going?

Bill: Oh, he'd roll with it till we figured it out.

Katie: He's outsmarting us already. We're doomed.

Bill: Hopefully he doesn't start dealing in cryptocurrency, trying to buy himself a private jet.

Katie: Yeah, we need to change our passwords.

Bill: [ Chuckles ]

[ Doorbell rings ]

Katie: Oh. Hi.

Hi. I have a delivery for mr. William spencer.

Bill: He strikes again.

Katie: Thank you.

Thank you.

Bill: Hang on a second.

Oh, thank you, sir.

Bill: Here you go. All right, buddy.

Have a good one.

Katie: Yeah. You too. William spencer!

Bill: William spencer, get down here!

[ Chuckles ]

Katie: Hmmm. Definitely need to change our passwords. Like, now.

Bill: Hey, pal.

Katie: Hi. Um... would you care to explain what this is?

Will: I forgot to tell you guys -- I got dessert.

Katie: Mm.

Bill: Cookies?

Will: Chocolate chip. Your favorite, mom.

Katie: Oh.

Will: Go ahead. Open it.

Katie: Okay. Let's see. Oh! Whoa.

Bill: [ Laughs ] Dollar signs.

Will: Your favorite, dad.

Bill: [ Laughing ] You have really outdone yourself.

Will: Hope you like it.

Katie: Uh, we love it. And...

Bill: We love you.

Katie: Yes. We were just talking about how proud we are of you.

Bill: You have turned into a fantastic kid.

Will: Learned from the best.

Katie: Okay. Well... who wants a cookie?

Bill: I do!

Katie: [ Laughs ]

Will: Me! I do, I do!

Katie: All right, here.

Bill: Mmm.

Katie: There. One for you.

Bill: Oh!

Katie: One for me.

Bill: These are delicious.

Katie: Mmm. All right. Those are the best chocolate-chip cookies I've ever had.

Will: Dad, watch out! Don't eat the dollar sign!

Bill: Don't eat the dollar sign? What are you talking about? You know I'd eat money if I could.

Katie: [ Giggles ]

Bill: But you know what I'm gonna do instead?

Katie: Oh, my gosh.

Bill: I'm gonna eat the dollar sign, and I'm gonna eat you. Come here! [ Growls ]

[ Will and katie laughing ] (Announcer) do you push through migraine? . . .
