Episode #8006 ~ Kieran and Matt bicker about what they can do to help Liam; Liam calls on Bill to help him get to Hope who is on Catalina Island.

Provided By Suzanne

Liam: Hey, hope, you there?

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: Wh-what's happening now?

Hope: A-a contraction.

Liam: A contra-- like -- like, the same one or a new one?

Hope: Please just hurry, liam.

Liam: Hey, listen. I know -- I know it's probably scary being there alone.

Hope: It's too soon.

Liam: Yeah, well, our daughter apparently has other plans.

Hope: I just wanted to have a romantic babymoon with you here at catalina.

Liam: Well, just think of it this way -- beth is really anxious to meet her parents, you know?

Hope: Yeah, and I can't wait to meet her, either, but... if you were here --

Liam: I will be there. Okay? I'm gonna be there. I-I-I-I-I don't care if all the flights are grounded. I'm gonna find a way. You're not gonna go through this alone.

Hope: Liam, please be careful.

Liam: Hey... I'm not gonna let a little wind stop me. Soon as I get off the phone, I'm gonna...

[ Gusting continues ] Um... listen, I don't -- I don't know what I'm gonna do, but here's what you have to do, okay? You got to -- you got to call the front desk, find out who's in charge, the manager or whatever, and just tell them the situation. You know, your water broke, you think you're in labor, and you need to see a doctor asap.

Hope: [ Voice breaking ] Okay.

Liam: It's gonna be fine. Everything is gonna be fine. I love you. Both of you.

Hope: We love you, too.

[ Crying ]

[ Wind gusting ]

Wyatt: Oh, man. Have you been out there? The winds are intense.

Bill: Yeah. You better hold on to your red slippers, dorothy. I actually thought I felt the building sway a couple of times earlier.

Wyatt: Mm-hmm.

Bill: What? Better-looking than usual?

Wyatt: No. It's just weird. It's hard to get used to. Bill spencer without his sword is like --

Bill: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. Uh, superman without his cape? I've only heard it about a thousand times, genius.

Wyatt: I was gonna go with arthur without excalibur, but sure.

Bill: What do I need a sword for anyway? I'm a lover these days, not a fighter. Mwah!

Wyatt: Gross. And cheesy.

Bill: Yeah, whatever. I am determined to reinvent bill spencer, the man... the legend.

Wyatt: Yeah? How's that going?

Bill: Harder than I thought.

Wyatt: [ Chuckles ]

Bill: But I am determined to do one thing -- be a worthy father to will, to you, and to liam... especially with a second granddaughter on the way.

Liam: Listen, um, lily, I-i got to get to catalina now -- like, like, like, right now. Is there any way -- can you talk to the pilot again? Can you do that?

Lily: I just did. He said the winds are still too strong for takeoff.

Liam: I understand that, but here's the thing. I just spoke to my wife, and she's actually in labor. She's in labor right now.

Matt: What?!

Kieran: Hope is having her baby now?!

Liam: I got to get to her. I got to be with her. You have a ferry, right? Don't -- don't you have a ferry? Can I take a ferry?

Lily: I'm sorry. I-I wish I could help.

Liam: Aaaah!

Kieran: Is there anything we can do, liam? Hope's so sweet, and I'm such a fan.

Matt: How 'bout a snack? Look. We got sweet. We got salty. You know what? That way you just keep your mind off it till the winds die down.

Kieran: I don't think a sugar rush is what liam needs right now, sweetums. He's just about to have his first child. Oh. Well, his first child with hope. He has another child with steffy forrester, his wife before he married hope.

Liam: There's got to be a way to get on that island.

How are you feeling? Have there been any more contractions?

Hope: Uh, the last one was maybe about five minutes ago.

When you were on the phone with your husband?

Hope: Yeah. I mean, liam's desperate to get here, but the pilot can't take off with the winds as bad as they are.

And only getting worse, I'm afraid, a-at least here on the island.

Hope: I mean... can we make it to the clinic?

Carefully. There have been reports of some downed trees and strong gusts, but we'll be okay.

Hope: I mean, we thought we had weeks before the baby came, but then my water broke.

Then let's get you to the clinic right away. Hopefully the winds on the mainland will calm down enough for your husband's helicopter to take off... and he'll be with you soon.

Hope: Okay. Thank you.

Bill: Will? Will who? Will spencer? What, uh... I don't know. That doesn't ring a bell. My son?! Ohh, that will! That will.

[ Chuckles ] What's going on, pal? Are you kidding me? I am so proud of you. That is amazing. You keep up the good work. Yeah. I love you, too.

[ Cellphone beeps ] In case you didn't figure it out, that was --

Wyatt: Will. Yeah. I got it. Yeah. Straight "a's" on his report card again?

Bill: That kid -- he's really something. I mean, he's smarter than you and me put together.

Wyatt: Yeah. I mean, I wasn't really much of a student anyway. I-I had too many distractions.

Bill: Distractions? Maybe chasing girls?

Wyatt: That was it.

Bill: Too busy to worry about if "e" really does equal mc squared?

Wyatt: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I mean, who needs it, right? Liam, on the other hand -- like, he was probably just a total geek, right? Just his nose buried in a book, probably a hall-monitor, like, badge on his arm, huh?

Bill: Yeah. I'm pretty sure -- hall-monitor badge.

[ Chuckles ] You're jealous.

Wyatt: No, I'm not! How am I -- no, I'm not jealous. No. I'm -- I'm -- I'm -- I'm actually -- I'm proud of my brother -- you know, of who he is and what he stands for... how he lives his life. And I think he's gonna be a-a really good role model for kelly and beth, when she finally arrives.

Bill: Mm-hmm. Yeah, no question about it. Those girls are lucky to have liam as a father. There's nothing he wouldn't do for his daughters.&

Liam: So -- so let me make sure I understand you. You're saying there are no boats, zero, going out tonight? Seriously?

Kieran: I just feel awful for him.& The baby's coming. His wife needs him, and he's trapped here on the mainland with us.

Liam: Damn it. How is this even happening right now?

Matt: No luck?

Liam: I just -- I just called three different charter-boat companies. They all say the same thing -- the surf is too dangerous because of the wind, and they're not willing to risk trying to go to catalina tonight. This is crazy.

Matt: These winds are scary as h-e-double hockey sticks. And they're dangerous. Terrible things can happen -- widespread destruction. No wonder they call them the devil winds.

Kieran: Shh! Keep your voice down, matty. Poor liam's got enough to worry about.

[ Wind gusting ]

[ Wind gusting ]

Help! We need help! Is anybody here?!

Hope: Hello?!

Hello?! Help!

Hope: Hello?!

Reese: Hey. Hey. I-I'm sorry. I was with another patient.

Okay. This woman is a guest at our hotel, and she's in labor.

[ Cellphone rings ] Sorry. Hello? Oh, no. As soon as I can. I hate to do this, but there's an emergency at the hotel, and i have to -- will you be okay?

Hope: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Go. Go. Thank you. Thank you for bringing me here.

Reese: Be careful going back.

Of course. Take good care of her. Look, mrs. Spencer, congratulations in advance.

Hope: Thanks. Oh.

Oh, gosh.

Hope: [ Chuckles ] Thanks.

Reese: Here. That's your name -- mrs. Spencer?

Hope: Uh, yes -- hope logan spencer.

Reese: Dr. Buckingham. Have you been timing your contractions?

Hope: Not exactly, but my water just broke, and, uh, this little girl isn't due for a few more weeks, so...

Reese: Aw, a little girl? You already know the gender.

Hope: Her name's beth, after my grandmother.

Reese: Beth -- that is a lovely name. Is the baby's father here?

Hope: Um, he's planning on being here. Uh, we, uh, planned this little trip for ourselves, and I came early, but now liam's stuck in long beach, and he's waiting for the clearance for the helicopter, and I'm just praying that he can get here in time.

Reese: Um, um, okay. Let's get you off your feet and into a room.

Hope: Actually, can I just let him know that I got the clinic safely? I just need to, um...

[ Breathes heavily ]

Reese: Another contraction?

Hope: No, no, it's fine. I can -- I can make it.

Reese: Okay.

Hope: Ohh.

Reese: Come on.

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Reese: All right, hope. I promise I will take very good care of you and your baby.

Hope: All right.

Reese: Okay.

Reese: I'm sure this isn't what you had in mind for your child's birth -- a little clinic in catalina instead of a fully functioning city hospital. Were you planning on a natural birth?

Hope: [ Chuckles ] Not exactly, but, uh, my husband and I were taking birthing classes together, and he's -- he's really excited to be here with me during the delivery.

Reese: I'm sorry it's not working out as planned.

Hope: Um...so... where are the other doctors and nurses?

Reese: Well, as I've said, we are a small clinic with an even smaller staff.

Hope: So, you're the only doctor?

Reese: The only one here right now, yeah.

Hope: What? [ Chuckles ]

Reese: My nurse lives on the other side of the island, but the main road that connects here and there isn't passable due to the trees fallen from the wind.

Hope: She can't be the only staff.

Reese: Hope, hope, I know this isn't ideal, but I don't want you to worry. You are in very, very good hands. I'm a highly accredited ob/gyn, and I'm on staff at university hospital in L.A.

Hope: Okay. Um, I was just gonna let my husband know what's happening.

Reese: Okay. I'm gonna go check on my other patient.

Hope: Oh, doctor? I'm -- I'm not getting any service.

Reese: It's probably the cell towers due to the wind. Just try again in a few minutes. If it doesn't go through, then try text. Sometimes that gets through when a call can'T.

Hope: Thanks.

[ Door opens ] Don't worry. Don't worry. Everything's gonna be okay.

Liam: Okay. Okay. How 'bout this? How -- how 'bout I just -- can I -- can I speak to the pilot again, just try to appeal to him directly?

Lily: He'll tell you the same thing I keep telling you, what the authorities will tell you. Until the winds subside -- I'm really sorry, mr. Spencer. I know how anxious you are to get to your wife.

Liam: Okay, try to put yourself in my shoes. Could you accept this? Because I can'T.

Matt: I think he's gonna do it.

Kieran: Do what?

Matt: Swim.

Kieran: He can't swim all the way to catalina.

Matt: If you were over there, I would be doggy-paddling there so fast right now.

Kieran: Oh, matty.

Matt: I mean, I probably wouldn't make it past the harbor, but for you, I would try. And that's the look he has right now.

Bill: You've got to be kidding me.

Wyatt: No. Total truth. Swear it.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Bill: It's your brother.

Wyatt: Will again?

Bill: No. The one with the scruffy beard.

Wyatt: Oh, yeah. The geeky, nerdy one?

Bill: Yeah, the geeky, nerdy -- hi, liam. What's going on?

Liam: Listen, I'm -- I'm at the long beach helicopter terminal, and all the helicopters are down because of the wind, and I need your help. I need to get to catalina right away.

Bill: Why catalina?

Liam: Yeah, there's this whole thing. Hope and I were supposed to do a babymoon.

Bill: What's a babymoon?

Liam: It's like a -- like a -- like a getaway, you know, before -- doesn't matter. Hope is there, and she's alone and, um... dad, she's in labor.

Bill: She's in labor?!

Liam: Yeah, I mean, I'm assuming she's at the clinic on the island already. But, you know, I got to be there. I got to be there with her.

Bill: Of course you do.

Liam: Listen, is there any way at all that the spencer helicopter could come meet me here and take me to catalina?

Bill: I'll get on it right now. You just hang in there. I will get you to catalina. You'll be there for the birth of your daughter.

Hope: [ Moaning, exhales sharply ]

[ Exhales sharply ] Okay.

Reese: Hey. You know... it wasn't your fault, right? Be careful out there.

[ Wind gusting ]

Hope: [ Moaning ] The contractions are coming faster.

[ Crying ] Liam's gonna miss the birth of his little girl.

Reese: Shh. We don't know that, hope, okay? For now, let's just focus on you.

Hope: Oh, I can't believe this is happening.

Reese: Hope, you had no way of knowing that beth would come early.& Besides, maybe mom and dad deserve one last romantic hurrah before their little one arrives, right?

Hope: Mm-hmm.

Reese: Do not blame yourself. How do you feel now?

Hope: My throat's a little dry.

Reese: Okay. I'll get you some ice chips.

Hope: [ Moaning ]

Reese: Okay. Okay, breathe. Take my hand if you have to. Squeeze it. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Yeah. Yeah, squeeze. Squeeze.

Hope: [ Crying ]

Reese: I'm right here. I'm right here.

Bill: I'm counting on you, nathan. Get my son to catalina safe and sound.

[ Cellphone beeps ]

Wyatt: Everything's set?

Bill: Well, with any luck, liam will be with hope before the baby arrives.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Liam: Please tell me the helicopter's on its way.

Bill: They just finished refueling. The pilot will be in the air in just a few minutes.

Liam: Okay. Um, the -- the wind's going crazy here. Does he know that?

Bill: Liam, you have nothing to worry about. Nathan is incredibly experienced. He's flown combat missions in much worse conditions. He will get you to catalina safely.

Liam: Thank you. You're really coming through for me here.

Bill: Good luck, son. I can't wait to meet my new granddaughter.

[ Wind gusting ]

Hope: [ Moaning ]

Reese: Just breathe through the contraction. Come on.

Hope: [ Gasps, moans ]

[ Exhales sharply ]

Reese: Okay.

Hope: Are you sure that the rest of your staff can't make it here?

Reese: Yes. As I've said before, I don't want you to worry. I've delivered a few babies in my time, okay?

[ Electricity crackles ]

Hope: What happened to the lights?

Reese: Must be a power outage. Computer's on battery. The backup power generator should kick in any second.

Hope: No. What does that mean?

[ Generator powers up ]

Reese: Generator's for all essential medical equipment. The rest of the lights will come on once the power's restored.

Hope: Well, when -- when will that be?

Reese: Well, uh, let me go take a look, and I'll see what i can find out. I'll be right back.

Hope: Okay.

Reese: You stay calm. Stress is bad for the baby.

[ Wind gusting ]

Reese: Come on. Pick up, pick up, pick up, pick up. Hello. Hello. Hey. Yeah. I need somebody down here asap. Another patient just checked in. Yeah. She's in labor, and the power just went out. I don't care. I need someone down here stat.

[ Cellphone rings ]

Hope: Thank god it's you. I've been trying to reach you.

Liam: I-I know. I'm sorry. Are you okay?

Hope: You won't believe what happened. The power went out.

Liam: What?!

Hope: Yeah, but I guess some of the medical equipment's on a backup generator, at least.

Liam: Oh, my god! Well, listen, I'm gonna -- I'm gonna be there soon.

Hope: You're on the helicopter?

Liam: Uh, no, not -- not yet, but my dad is sending the spencer helicopter. Listen, hope, I'm not gonna let our little girl come into this world without both of us there to welcome here.

Hope: [ Crying ] I'm scared, liam. I'm really scared. This shouldn't be happening so soon.

[ Moaning ] Oh, please hurry, liam. Please, please. I need you. Beth and I need you.

[ Exhales sharply ]
