Episode #7769 ~ Thorne begrudgingly participates in planning Brooke's wedding with Katie, Ivy, Pam and Maya; Steffy becomes defensive when her archrival, Hope, confronts her with a harsh fact.

Provided By Suzanne

Ridge: I'm not asking you to ignore what you're going through. I'm asking you to process it with your wife.

Brooke: Our wedding gives you the chance to reach out to her.

Ridge: And maybe... open your heart to the idea of forgiveness.

Brooke: There was a time that I predicted ridge and i would never be together, but here we are, ready to commit to each other.

Ridge: You didn't ask for any of this. What your father did to your wife is... and, yes, you are the victim in this. But please try to remember that you're not the only victim.

Hope: Look, I am not trying to sound harsh. I am not judging you.

Steffy: Feels like you are.

Hope: Please don't take it that way, steffy. I mean, come on. You must have known how liam would react when he found out about you and bill.

Steffy: The idea was he wouldn'T. No one would.

Hope: Well, unfortunately, it didn't work out that way, and now there are consequences.

Steffy: So if my husband doesn't come home, if liam is done with me for good, the only person I can blame is myself? I totally agree.

Katie: All right. So that about covers it. I have some notes from brooke, as well as some contacts. But we have an awful lot to do if this wedding is going to happen so soon.

Thorne: Oh, you're doing a great job so far, ms. Maid of honor.

Katie: [ Chuckles ] Thanks, best man.

Maya: And you have all of us to help. So, what's next? Cake?

Pam: Ah, charlie and i have that.

Charlie: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm thinking, you know, traditional -- you know, three to seven tiers.

Pam: Oh, stop it.

Katie: Uh, sure. Yeah. Um, I think we should -- we should check with the bride and see what she wants to do, and -- whoa, wait. Hey, where are you going, my friend?

Thorne: Oh, I think you've got this. Besides, I really don't know anything about planning a wedding, so...

Maya: You know more than you think.

Katie: Oh, yeah. I mean, you've been married, like, what -- one, two, three, four, five...

Ivy: [ Laughs ] Plus, you're our male perspective.

Thorne: Well, I'm here to tell you that less is definitely more.

Katie: No. No.

[ Laughter ]

Ivy: More is more. More is not enough.

Ivy: Okay, so, are we thinking ceremony inside or outside?

Katie: Uh, inside. Less variables.

Maya: And what about music?

Thorne: Oh, I know that. I know a great cover band.

Katie: Oh.

Maya: For the ceremony?

Thorne: Well, for the reception. Who doesn't like journey, right?

Katie: Right. But I'm thinking that maybe we just put a playlist together and play it through the house. I mean, the system is state-of-the-art.

Maya: That's a great idea.

Katie: Yeah.

Maya: So what about food?

Pam: Charlie and I have got all that covered.

Charlie: Oh, and by the way, the kitchen will be off limits because of the short notice. Okay? Clear? Clear?

Thorne: Hey, you know what, you two shouldn't do everything, because you're gonna miss the wedding. So, maybe we should just order little pizzas. You know, the flat, thin crust. Like flatbread kind.

Kat: You are seriously no help at all.

Thorne: I already told you that. I'm not good at this. So maybe I should go and do something more productive --

Katie: Oh, no, no, no, no. You're not getting off the hook so easily. I think we should do small plates and not really a sit-down dinner.

Pam: Perfect.

Ivy: Mm. Okay, well, I'll organize servers and the bartender.

Maya: Yes. And ridge said he wanted carter to officiate.

Katie: Let's see if he's available.

Maya: Done. He's very excited.

Katie: Great. Perfect.

Thorne: Oh, by the way, rick -- how did he get out of this?

Maya: Well, uh, you know, supporting the wedding was about as far as rick could go. I think he stopped at actively planning, so... you get me.

[ Laughter ]

Ivy: Oh, wait. What about steffy? I thought maybe she would be here.

Katie: Well, I think she has a lot on her plate right now.

Steffy: You can't pass judgment on me I haven't passed on myself. I can barely look in the mirror.

Hope: Look, I am not trying to pile on. I really do want things to work out with you and liam.

Steffy: I believe you. And you're right. You're right. I have to take responsibility for the mess that I made. I'm not giving up on my marriage. I'm gonna keep fighting for liam and me. And our baby. Our family.

Ridge: Your father preyed on steffy when she was vulnerable. Now her marriage is in shambles, and a little kid is gonna have to fight for its future.

Liam: I -- I don't want my child to suffer.

Ridge: All right. Then get out of your head and please reach out to your wife.

Brooke: Our wedding is the perfect opportunity, liam. Please come.

Ridge: Look at this. Brooke and I made it through. And you and steffy can, as well.

Steffy: I see the way you look at me. Judging. You think I'm a horrible person.

Hope: I never said that. I want you and liam to work through this.

Steffy: Do you really?

Hope: Yes.

Steffy: Hope, I'm sorry. I'm just, like...

[ Groans ] I've just been such a wreck these last few days.

Hope: Hey. I understand. Remember, our parents are about to get married. You and I, we're... family. Above all else.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah. Everything will be back to normal soon. Liam will forgive me. He just needs time.

Liam: [ Scoffs ] Listen, I -- I get that you guys mean well. I really do. I -- I -- I can'T. I can't deal with this right now.

Ridge: [ Sighs ] Well, I think your pain is clouding your judgment. And I get it. What your father did --

Liam: See? No. See, ridge, that's what I'm talking about. See, as sad as it would have been, that's what I wanted to believe. That's what I wanted to believe. Steffy, blameless. It's all my dad's fault, right? Steffy made it clear -- that's not what happened. She wasn't taken advantage of. She was a willing participant.

Ridge: Well, I don't believe that. I don't think you believe it, either. Come on, man. Come to our wedding. Witness it with your wife. Maybe you can find some forgiveness. Put your family back together. 'Cause that's what you want, isn't it?

Maya: Actually, brooke had ideas for flowers, but she wanted us to come up with some other options.

Ivy: Oh! Well, I was thinking just roses everywhere.

Katie: Sure. We can do that.

Thorne: No offense, but isn't that a little cliché? I mean, shouldn't we do something that's totally unexpected?

Ivy: Mmph.

Katie: Oh. Well, please. Surprise us with a suggestion.

Thorne: Bird-of-paradise.

[ Women chuckle ]

Ivy: Uh, come again?

Pam: You mean like just big bunches of birds-of-paradise all over the house in buckets?

[ Laughter ]

Thorne: I don't know. I'm just coming up with ideas, here.

Katie: I think that, uh, it sounds like a great idea. But it's kind of more of a plant.

Maya: With really sharp edges.

Charlie: Again, I think we should go traditional. You know, like lilies.

Pam: But, charlie, this is a wedding, not a funeral.

Katie: Okay. I think maya and I are gonna handle the flowers, and it'll all be good.

Pam: Now, what about the wedding party?

Thorne: Just katie and me so far.

Pam: Huh. Well, don't you think maybe steffy should be included somehow in the ceremony?

Ridge: I would ask you if there's something wrong, but I can see there is. What happened?

Steffy: Had a visitor.

Ridge: Spencer came by here?

Steffy: No. Hope.

Ridge: You two have an argument?

Steffy: No. Just...hope being honest. She says I have no one to blame for this disaster but myself. I hate it when she's right.

Ridge: You know, you got to stop doing that. Don't take blame for something that spencer did.

Steffy: Dad, can you just stop, please?

Ridge: That's exactly what happened. That's what I told liam, too.

Steffy: You saw liam?

Ridge: Yeah. Brooke and I went to his hotel.

Steffy: How is he?

Ridge: Same as you. Just standing in the rubble of his life, wondering what happened.

Ridge: You guys are having a kid together. Figure it out.

Steffy: I want to, dad. I just don't know how.

Ridge: Well, come to our wedding. Maybe you can find some forgiveness.

Steffy: That's all I want. I just want a chance to make things right. Did you get through to him?

Ridge: I'm gonna make you some tea.

Steffy: Do you even know how to make tea?

Ridge: Yeah. It's boiling water and stuff, right?

Steffy: I'm -- I'm good. I'm good, dad. Thanks.

Ridge: But you're not good. This should be the happiest time of your life.

Steffy: I'm just so angry with myself. I mean, I ruined everything.

Ridge: Bill took advantage of you.

Steffy: Dad, that's not --

Ridge: He made you do something you didn't want to do, and now it destroyed your marriage, and he betrayed his own son.

Steffy: I should have stopped it. I should have stopped it, but I didn'T. I can't explain it, but I didn'T.

Ridge: Well, it -- it's because you just found out that liam had kissed somebody else. I understand that.

Steffy: Dad, when are you gonna stop making excuses for me?

Ridge: That's not what I'm doing. I'M...

[ Sighs ] Bill should have been there for you. He should have protected you. Made sure that you were okay. He could have called me. He could have called my dad, could have called brooke. He didn't do that, did he? He --

Steffy: [ Sighs ]

Ridge: Every time I think about that, I want to rip his head off. I'm sorry. You don't need to hear that. I just -- I -- I just want you and liam to come to the wedding and see that there's a possibility for forgiveness. There's a way to do this.

Steffy: I want that, too. So, did liam say he was gonna come to the wedding?

Ridge: He didn't say he wasn't coming. He was listening.

Steffy: Well, liam has an extraordinary capacity for forgiveness. And that's what I'm holding on to.

Ridge: Love always wins in the end. You know that. Come here.

Steffy: [ Sighs ] I love you.

Ridge: I love you.

Katie: Okay. Well, I have a few things to talk to brooke about, but I think we all have our marching orders.

Ivy: Yes, ma'am.

Charlie: Okay. Pammy and I are going to need a final head count A.S.A.P.

Pam: Food prep waits for no wedding.

Katie: Got it. Okay, so I have one, two, three, four. You all have jobs. But you have no chores to do.

Thorne: Oh, no, no, no. Best man, remember? Already above and beyond.

Katie: [ Scoffs ]

Thorne: Especially considering that rick has excused himself from any further obligations.

Maya: Well, we all do our best, thorne.

Katie: All right. Well, then let's get this wedding started.

Maya: You know, you are very enthusiastic.

Katie: [ Chuckles ]

Maya: In fact, you've been in a surprisingly good mood lately.

Ivy: Yes. Could there maybe be a new man in your life?

Katie: Do I have to have a man in my life to be in a good mood? Really? Seriously?

Maya: It's actually scientifically proven to have a direct correlation.

Ivy: Exactly. So, katie, stop holding out on us. Who is he?

Pam: Katie! Is it someone we know?

Thorne: Come on, katie. Who's the mystery guy?

Katie: Well, I haven't admitted that there is a mystery guy. So go! Disperse! We have work to do. Go! Shoo!

Ivy: All right.

Maya: We're not forgetting.

[ Laughter, indistinct chatter ]

Hope: It's not right. Liam living in some hotel room and steffy just all alone at the beach house.

Brooke: I agree. But liam doesn't seem to be able to reach out to her.

Hope: What was steffy thinking? I mean... being with bill is the one thing liam would have trouble forgiving.

Brooke: She wasn't thinking. That's the problem.

Hope: Well, I hope they work through it.

Brooke: You told her that?

Hope: Yes. But I also told her, if she loses liam, she has no one to blame but herself.

[ Knock on door ]

Steffy: You got a minute? I, uh... I know dad and brooke were here.

Liam: Yeah. They, um... wanted to tell me they're getting married.

Steffy: Which, the last thing I want to do is go to a wedding.

Liam: Not very high up on my list, either.

Steffy: It's so wrong, liam, being apart like this. I miss you desperately. I hate what I've done to us. I robbed you of the first few weeks with your child. I was careless. I don't know why I was so careless.

Liam: I don't know, steffy.

Steffy: [ Sighs ] I, um... I was thinking maybe dad and brooke are actually on to something. Uh... maybe we should go to the wedding together. If you could just find it within you to just sit with me, even for a few hours. I-I know I don't have a right to ask anything of you, but, uh... dad and brooke are getting married. Just think about everything they've been through. It's a testament to everything they've overcome. Maybe we can learn from them.

Katie: You know, if this marketing thing doesn't work out, I think I should go into party planning. Check me out. I have put together a wedding in, like, what, three hours time?

Thorne: You know, I think maya's right about your mystery guy. It's, uh... it's making your more, uh... more free. And, uh, it's very attractive.

Katie: [ Chuckles ] Thanks, thorne. I-I've never, um... I've never had a relationship with no... strings attached. It'S... it's fun.

Thorne: Yeah, you make it seem like fun. Maybe I should, uh, claim my own free spirit and give it a go.

Katie: Well, maybe we should make sure that we have -- have all our bases covered.

Thorne: Right.

Brooke: Ridge and I think that steffy and liam might just need a reminder that love has the ability to conquer all obstacles.

Hope: Well, you two are certainly a good example.

Brooke: We want to be. That's why we invited both of them to our wedding. Steffy seems a little more willing than liam.

Hope: Well, that makes sense.

Brooke: But you know ridge. When he wants something, he doesn't give up. So he might be able to edge liam closer day to day, and liam may eventually accept.

Hope: Well... I mean, maybe he shouldn'T. You know, liam might not be ready, and the -- the whole thing could backfire.

Brooke: You don't think liam should come to our wedding?

Hope: No. I'm just saying that, you know, maybe he should be able to decide for himself without all the outside pressure.

Brooke: Honey, are you still interested in liam?

Steffy: Dad and brooke made the same argument to me. Maybe seeing their love triumph in real time, it might put us back on track.

Liam: I just -- I don't think that's possible, steffy.

Steffy: Liam, anything's possible. That's the point. Think of all the things that brooke and dad have gone through over the years.

Liam: [ Sighs ] I'm happy for them. I am. But it's got nothing to do with us.

Steffy: Maybe it'll help us through this awful time. Heal everything we've been through. Give our child the life he or she deserves. Liam, I -- I feel our baby growing inside of me. I feel my body changing every day.

Liam: You taking care of yourself? I mean, you -- you're eating, right, and you're taking your vitamins?

Steffy: I mean, it's not easy to remember. I have to set an alarm to do everything for the baby.

Liam: Okay, good. 'Cause you're not the greatest at scheduling your personal time, and --

[ Sighs ]

Steffy: It'd be nice if you were there. To remind me. We should be sharing this time together, not letting it slip away. The baby's gonna be here before you realize. If you can just come with me to the wedding... or if you want to go alone, and I will save you a seat. But just, please, watch dad and brooke exchange their vows. Just see them standing there, still strong and in love.

Liam: I... I don't know. I don't --

Steffy: Can we please just use them as an example? Listen to the vows, really take in what they mean. And we can find a new place for us and our baby to begin. Liam, please come to the wedding. Please. .
