Episode # 7420 ~ Bill surprises Brooke with a wedding planner; Eric's family stages an intervention, because they're concerned by his perceived lack of judgment.

Bill: Great. I like it. Normally, I have my assistant handle these kind of bookings.
Evelyn: Oh, it's my pleasure. It's all part of the wedding experience, as far as I'm concerned.
Bill: Well, I want the best for the best, hence hiring you. I see you've done weddings in Paris, Kauai, Bahrain... Wisconsin?
Evelyn: Oh. [Chuckles] I should update that. A very high-profile family -- didn't work out. No fault of mine. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
Bill: Well, this one is.
Evelyn: Of course. Now, the officiant on there --
Brooke: Oh! Am I interrupting?
Bill: Not at all. You're never interrupting. Come on in. This is Evelyn, the wedding planner I told you about.
Brooke: So nice to meet you.
Evelyn: Congratulations. Such an exciting time.
Brooke: Thank you.
Bill: Evelyn says she can have us married in a couple of days.
Eric: I see.
Ridge: Have a seat, Dad.
Eric: I have one. You're in it. All right. Let's go. Who's first?
Pam: You know that we love you, Eric.
Eric: Apparently, within certain parameters, yes.
Rick: Dad... how often have you heard me agree with Ridge about anything? But this engagement --
Ridge: Fortunately, engagements can be broken. Listen, Dad, we -- all of us -- we've all misfired when it comes to affairs of the heart, you know? We think we've found a great love, and it turns out to be something much smaller.
Eric: They say that old people shrink. Are you saying that my feelings have shrunk, too?
Ridge: It's not about your feelings, Dad. If you marry that woman, you create a legal relationship between her and everyone here. It's about business, about inheritance, about this company... whatever that crazy lunatic's gonna come up with next. And we can't have that.
Wyatt: Oh, my God. It is true.
Quinn: I was gonna call you and see if you wanted to have lunch later today.
Wyatt: Instead, I had to find out about it from my wife in a text.
Quinn: I had no idea Eric was thinking this way.
Wyatt: Did you even think about me...at all...before you said yes -- that your marriage could be the end of mine?
Brooke: Sure don't waste any time.
Bill: We said we didn't want to wait, didn't we?
Brooke: But how, in a couple of days? The ink isn't even dry on your divorce papers yet. And don't we have to wait? There's a 6-month mandatory waiting period or something?
Bill: In California.
Brooke: Yeah, but that's where we are.
Bill: At the moment. You better pack a bag. My jet leaves a little later today.
Evelyn: Clock's ticking. I've got a lot to finalize. I'll be in touch.
Bill: Thanks, Evelyn.
Brooke: Okay. Bye. What?! I guess you're gonna have to be a bigamist for the next six months.
Bill: You know what? I've been and done worse.
Brooke: Oh. [Laughs]
Bill: I don't want to wait. Trust me. I've handled everything. Besides... we wouldn't want to make Ridge wait a moment longer for that 12.5% he's so desperate for, now, would we?
Brooke: [Laughs] No.
Wyatt: By accepting Eric's proposal, you're basically saying that you don't care if I get divorced or not.
Quinn: No. That's not true. I care very much. I just realize it's not in my power to prevent.
Wyatt: But it is, Mom. It is.
Wyatt: It's in your power.
Quinn: No, it's not, my love. This is your test, not mine. Your wife has all but threatened to cast aside your marriage if you don't meet her demands.
Wyatt: So, what are you saying -- I should just be a man and stand up to her?
Quinn: I'm saying maybe you don't accept Steffy's terms.
Steffy: I'm named after Grandmother, and I am trying... very hard not to be hurt by how little of a relationship we have now.
Eric: Not only do you share her name, you've got a pretty firm grasp on her passive-aggressive technique, too.
Steffy: [Exhales sharply] Then I'll be blunt. That's our family home, from before I was even born, and if you marry Quinn, I don't think I could ever step foot in that house again.
Pam: [Sighs] Look...Eric... you know that I understand loneliness, and I am all for us having a little love in our lives. But I don't think I could bear to see Quinn take my sister's place at our Thanksgiving table. I got to be honest with you. I-I don't think I could bear it.
Thomas: Granddad... you're the CEO of this empire. You know how to put together a trusted and supportive team. But look at Quinn on paper as you would a prospective employee. Look at everyone she's affected and everybody she's hurt, especially in this room. You would never hire her -- ever.
Rick: Um... everybody said that Maya was a gold digger. Why didn't I listen? 'Cause Maya and I -- we've stood the test of time. You don't know Quinn. You haven't known her that long to be sure. Your happiness... is important to me. And I'm not saying never. I'm just saying -- I'm just saying wait.
Brooke: Okay. So, you're really not gonna tell me anything?
Bill: Just practice saying, "I do." And clean out your desk at Forrester.
Brooke: Okay. Wait. What?!
Bill: Well, you can give notice if you think you have to.
Brooke: Why? I like my work.
Bill: Brooke, listen, you know... I can't have you working all day, every day, alongside a guy who does nothing but talk trash about me. Besides that, I won't need you watching over my cut of Forrester, since he will have my shares in his sweaty little palms.
Eric: We have the department reports, regular weeklies?
Pam: Oh. Well, I wasn't asked to call for those.
Eric: Hmm. Madam President?
Steffy: That's not what this is about.
Eric: Well, this is my office. That's what it's about now.
Ridge: Have you seen a doctor recently?
Rick: Ridge, could you be --
Ridge: Well, there's something going on here. We can see it. Why can't you?
Eric: I know you want me to change my life to suit yours. I've asked that of you so many times as a parent, I know all the responses by heart. And, Rick, your point about the test of time -- that's well taken. Do you know how much time I have left in my life, actuarially speaking?
Steffy: That doesn't mean you need to invite Quinn into our lives.
Pam: Eric, just don't marry her.
Eric: Well, I wouldn't if I didn't -- if I didn't have to.
Ridge: She's got something on you, hasn't she?
Eric: No. I don't want her to get away.
Eric: You don't know how much she's done for me, how much I love her. I'm gonna marry Quinn. And she's gonna be the next Forrester matriarch.
Quinn: How many times over the years have you said to me, "Mom, stop interfering in my life! Mom, stop! Mom, go get a life of your own!" And now I finally have, and you want me to give it up, because your wife doesn't approve? I-I'm sorry, Wyatt. I am really, really sorry. I have done everything -- everything I could do for you. But now it's my turn. I didn't even know I wanted to have a turn, but I do. And you know what? Steffy only has herself to blame. Eric and I were having a small affair that nobody was supposed to know about, for obvious reasons. And then Steffy found out. She want ballistic, and then she left me and Eric with no one to lean on but each other. And now you want me to give that up.
Wyatt: I want you to realize that this -- this won't end well for you or for me.
Quinn: I realize that this... is a gift, and I am going to be a positive, true force in Eric's life -- Mrs. Eric Forrester.
Wyatt: Oh, don't say that.
Quinn: Why?! Why can't you be happy for me?!
Wyatt: Oh, God.
Quinn: Where does this leave you and Steffy?
Wyatt: I don't know, Mom. I don't know. But if you're not leaving, I need to go find out once and for all where things stand. But if my marriage ends... it's on you.
Bill: Brooke, we did it the right way for everyone, and we're not gonna wait any longer. I want the world to know that you're mine. Will you marry me?
Brooke: [Laughing] Yes!
Ridge: Hey, Logan. I've got -- I'm sorry. No "Logan." "Brooke." Hi. How are you? Nice to see you.
Brooke: So, the wedding is happening in a few days.
Ridge: Whose wedding?
Brooke: My wedding.
Ridge: How is that even possible?
Brooke: Bill has a plan to speed things up. We're flying off somewhere this afternoon. It's a surprise.
Ridge: That is a surprise. I've got a surprise, too. My -- my dad proposed to Quinn, and she accepted, of course. And you knew that already.
Brooke: No, I didn't know that, but I do know Eric, and it sounds like something he would do. So, it sounds like I'm the bearer of good news.
Ridge: How is any of this good news?
Brooke: The timetable of getting Bill's shares at Forrester has just moved up.
Ridge: Yeah. Well, it seems to me that the bad news outweighs the good if you have to marry that guy.
Quinn: Hey! You're home early.
Eric: Yeah. I ran in to an ambush at work, family-style.
Quinn: Sounds like we had similar mornings.
Eric: Your son is not happy?
Quinn: Wyatt went to see Steffy. This could be the end of their marriage.
Eric: My kids love me when I bring them something -- presents -- but not when I bring them a new stepmother.
Quinn: Oh, I don't think anyone's going to be calling me that. Have we made a mistake?
Eric: Yes. You and I have made mistakes all through our lives. But this is not one of them. You and I are together now. You and I are getting married. They can all realize later what you and I already know. Everything's gonna work out just fine.
Quinn: Mm. Well, I hope the same can be said for Steffy and Wyatt.
Steffy: Go well?
Wyatt: Yeah. When does that ever happen?
Steffy: Well... what's going on? I mean, you texted me. You said you had something important to tell me.
Wyatt: Is it so unthinkable that, as your husband, I might have something other to talk about than my mother?
Steffy: No, I -- [Sighs] Wyatt, it only seems that way because of everything that's --
Wyatt: That's why you're living with your brother? 'Cause you're holding our marriage hostage? I mean, we are at a point right now where you might as well be asking me to change the weather or something, because I just -- I can't. I can't go on like this. I'm tired -- tired of this in-between state, this marriage that's on life support or whatever's going on here. It's time to come home, Steffy. Either you come home or you tell me that your home is not with me, because I-I-I can't do this anymore.
Steffy: I love you. But I'm afraid. Those are the two things I can tell you for certain.
Wyatt: Ok-- okay. But you're not afraid of me. Or are you?
Steffy: You grew up with Quinn. You feel safe with her. I don't know. I think, like... maybe you're blind to seeing how dangerous she is.
Wyatt: Trust me -- I have seen more of her craziness than anyone ever has, but you -- you knew about this before you married me.
Steffy: No. No. That's not true -- not until she kidnapped Liam. That is not true. I didn't know how far she would go, how destructive she is, and now -- now she has my grandfather, and she has her sights on the family company, and I'm... terrified.
Wyatt: She's not the one who's destroying our marriage right now. Look, I'm sorry, but... you -- you have reduced our relationship, everything that we have been through, to the question of my mother. That was your choice. But you -- you can unmake that, Steffy.
Steffy: You asked if I was afraid of you. Of course, I'm not afraid of you. I'm -- [Sighs] I'm afraid of being close to you... because of your mom.
Wyatt: Wow. Okay. Look, I-I just, uh -- I just want you to be honest with me. That's -- that's all I'm asking right now. If Eric marries my mother, does that mean that our marriage is over? Or is our marriage already over?
Quinn: Your family is plotting against us. My son is severely disappointed in us, or me. [Laughs] And yet we're not in a panic, and we're not letting it get us down. How is that possible?
Eric: Because we know what we really have together -- love, trust, romance.
Quinn: Who could ask for anything more?
Eric: The soon-to-be Mrs. Eric Forrester.
Quinn: [Gasps] Ohh.
[Both chuckle softly]
Ridge: Hey. You don't have to do this.
Brooke: Do what? Marry him? Yes, I do. We all get what we want.
Ridge: We get some of it.
Brooke: Bill knows that you're waiting for those shares.
Ridge: Yeah, I bet you he's enjoying that. What if he's not coming through with them? What if -- what if all this is for nothing?
Brooke: He wouldn't break that promise to me. We're gonna be married, in love, and you get what you want. You get to pry Quinn away from this office, from Forrester Creations, and hopefully away from your father. Just promise me something -- that you will be gentle with Eric.
Ridge: I will.
Brooke: And with Rick.
Ridge: Yeah, well, you're gonna be right here. You can watch me. I'll -- I'll be good.
Brooke: No, actually. I'm not gonna be working here.
Ridge: What do you mean?
Brooke: It's just not appropriate.
Ridge: This is Spencer's idea, isn't it? He doesn't want you around me. Is that it, Logan?
Brooke: Don't call me that. Please? [Sighs] Ridge, this is going to be yours. You're going to have this office back.
Ridge: Yeah. Yeah, I will. And you will have your man.
Ridge: Do you think he's gonna make you happy?
Brooke: Yes, I do.
Ridge: See, I don't. I know he wants you, 'cause, well, you know, every man wants you, but he just -- he doesn't -- he doesn't understand you the way I do. Never did.
R.J.: Mom? Dad?
Brooke: R.J.! [Laughs]
R.J.: I'm home.
