Episode # 7395 ~ Ridge confronts Quinn about her manipulation of Eric and her disrespect of Steffy; Brooke is put on the spot when Bill requests her assistance in helping him get what he wants from Katie.
Provided By Suzanne
Katie: What would I want with Bill's shares of Forrester? What on earth would I do with them?
Ridge: You would sell them.
Ridge: Cash them in.
Katie: Well, I can't really imagine he'd give that up without a fight.
Brooke: Yeah, I don't think he would, either.
Katie: Annoying you is one of his greatest pastimes.
Ridge: Well, then, we will get rid of his favorite pastime. We'll take him to court. Make him give it up.
Katie: "We?" Being you, me, and Brooke?
Brooke: Katie wants to avoid a court battle.
Ridge: Because she doesn't think she can win. With you and me testifying, she can.
Justin: Yes? No?
Bill: Not a word since Katie left.
Justin: Maybe she's having an attorney look the settlement over.
Bill: The more likely scenario is Brooke is pitching one more time to save the marriage.
Justin: Yeah, well, Brooke needs to get with the program.
Bill: She can't, Justin. Whether it's for her self-esteem, for her sanity, for whatever, she has to be more committed to my marriage than the two of us who are actually in it. I mean, as stubborn as I am, Brooke is even worse. She's going to be my future whether she knows it or not.
Quinn: No, that's the only one. The charges to my card are valid. Yeah, I was only in Monte Carlo for a short amount of time. I'm home now. [Sighs] Uh, no. No, I won't be going back any time soon, so... okay. Thank you.
Eric: You're here.
[Knocks on door]
Deacon: You're home.
Quinn: You're very persistent, deacon. That would be a good quality in someone I wanted to see more of.
Deacon: Well, gee, I'm sorry I'm not Eric Forrester.
Quinn: So am I. But he won't be coming around anymore.
Deacon: You forgot to slam the door.
Quinn: Well, I'm not as rude as I used to be.
Deacon: I missed you, too.
Quinn: There are three people in this world -- yep, three -- who care whether I live or die, and you happen to be one of them. So I'm trying to be more appreciative. Even if I really don't want the company.
Deacon: I'm guessing your little surprise visit to Monte Carlo didn't go over so well with Eric.
Quinn: [Sighs] Actually, he was very happy to see me, which is not an experience I usually have. We had a wonderful day and night together.
Deacon: Okay, then why so glum? I mean, you know, if it was so blissful and all.
Quinn: The wrong person saw me leaving.
Bill: I may be sorry for asking you this, but tell me the truth. Was I cheap?
Justin: $50 million plus the house and all those perks?
Justin: Let's just say if I was Katie's lawyer and not yours --
Bill: Oh, well, yeah. Of course. You would have bled me dry.
Justin: That's why you love me.
Bill: You know, Katie isn't the kind of woman to hold me up over a monthly flower allowance. I gave her everything she could possibly want in that settlement.
Justin: Maybe she's just remembering certain legal documents that you asked her to sign for.
Bill: Okay, well, this one isn't booby-trapped.
Justin: Yeah, but I wouldn't put it to her that way.
Ridge: I can speak to your husband's violent tendencies. You've been at the receiving end of those?
Katie: No, no. He's never been violent at home.
[Cell phone chimes]
Ridge: All right. Well, Brooke can testify to him seducing her and...
Brooke: ...Kidnapping your son.
Ridge: What's so important, really?
Brooke: It's nothing -- nothing important.
Katie: Listen, I-I've already said this. For the sake of my son, I don't want a big, ugly trial. I mean, let's just forget, for a moment, about the time and the expense. The publicity -- we can't put a spin on this.
Ridge: Bill doesn't want that, either.
Katie: Of course, he does! He loves this stuff. He can't wait to roll around in the mud.
[Cell phone chimes]
Katie: Listen, no offense, but I can't really see how there's anything in this for me. I mean, 12.5% of Forrester Creations -- it's not worth it.
Ridge: I'll make it worth it. What is -- is someone trying to get ahold of you? What are you doing?
Brooke: [Sighs] Does this conversation even involve me?
Katie: Who is trying to get ahold of you so badly? Is it Bill? Tell me more about this plan of yours.
Quinn: This change from the inside stuff is really difficult. Nothing you used to know, nothing you used to want is -- is any help. You know, and it's all invisible, too, so -- so everything anybody sees is -- is who you don't want to be anymore.
Deacon: It's why I gave it up. So, who was the wrong person who saw you? Was it Liam?
Quinn: Even that would have been easier.
Deacon: Oh, no. Don't tell me it was Steffy. Oh, that must have been ugly.
Quinn: [Sighs] It was.
Deacon: Did it get physical? I mean, I don't see any black eye.
Quinn: It did.
Deacon: That must have been hot.
Quinn: Thank you, deacon, for reminding me that everything can be trivialized.
Deacon: Come on. Come on. How -- how could you have not seen this coming -- this or something equally as bad? I mean, it's -- [Scoffs] This is the thing I don't get about you. You -- you go too far always. A normal person, they see trouble coming in the distance, they get out of the way, but you are somehow irresistibly drawn to catastrophe. I mean, no wonder Eric ended things. His family probably didn't give him any choice.
Deacon: What did -- what did Wyatt say?
Quinn: What you'd expect.
Deacon: Quinn, you had to know this thing with Eric wasn't going anywhere.
Quinn: We both knew that.
Deacon: You want some French toast? You always used to like my French toast.
Quinn: Right now?
Deacon: It's always a good time for French toast.
Quinn: No thanks. I'm fine. Really. I'll be fine.
Bill: All right. This is not good. I know Brooke's getting my texts. She's just not responding.
Justin: So, what is she gonna say? "Excuse me, Katie, while I answer these texts from your husband"?
Bill: Or maybe they're already getting into it.
Justin: Getting into what?
Bill: You know, the way they get with each other. And that would not be good for us, strategically. I mean, if Katie gets riled up, she could want to stick it to me.
Justin: Okay, what is the worst thing that could happen? She comes back, she asks for more money.
Bill: Or she tries to keep me from seeing Will or demands a piece of Spencer Publications. [Sighs] Tell Alison I'm on my cell.
Justin: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What is the one thing that could happen to make a knockdown, drag-out fight between Brooke and Katie worse? You walking into it.
Justin: Oh, come on.
Ridge: It's nice. Nice little perks. You get to use his yacht and his jet, medical for life. Look at this. And you get to keep your own jewelry.
Brooke: Uh, I just wish that you and Bill could work things out and be happy again.
Katie: Oh, my god! He's been texting you throughout our entire conversation. I don't think that's a possibility.
Ridge: You can do better than this.
Katie: I don't know. 50 million bucks is an awful lot of money.
Ridge: Yeah, but why would you settle for using his jet and his yacht when you can have your own? Get the 12.5%, sell them to me.
Katie: Oh, I see. I'm supposed to sell my shares to you.
Katie: [Chuckles] I don't get this. You and Steffy and Thomas have 50% of Forrester, right?
Katie: So, with Bill's 12.5%, you want to do what? Remove Eric as C.E.O.? Because I'm not so sure I want to be a part of that.
Ridge: My father is shacked up with Quinn Fuller. I don't know what she's gonna do next. I need Bill's 12.5%. It'll give us 62.5%. That'll give us a majority. Then I wouldn't have to worry about anything. I wouldn't have to worry about what Quinn's gonna do. And I know that Bill can't, uh, take Dad's side, last minute.
Katie: Bill would never side with Eric if he's involved with Quinn. He hates Quinn.
Ridge: Not as much as he hates me.
Ridge: We've been here before. The last time, he came in last minute and gave his shares -- or tried to give his shares to Rick and my dad. I-I can't. I got to protect this company. And you'll be set for life.
Katie: Why is everyone so concerned with me being set for life? Bill is going to fight this, and I don't want to go to court.
Ridge: If it goes to that, then we will get a good lawyer and be there for you -- Brooke and me.
Katie: Really? You will?
Ridge: All right. I got to go see somebody.
Brooke: So, how's Will?
Katie: He's fine. [Sighs] Look, I, uh, appreciate you talking to Bill and getting him to let will come home. I do. But...it doesn't really change anything with us.
Brooke: I know.
Katie: Do you think I should do this -- go after Bill's 12.5%?
Brooke: [Chuckles] Doesn't really matter what I think.
Katie: But you'll support me in court? You'll testify that my husband tried to get you to sleep with him behind my back? Yeah. I didn't think so. You can't say yes to that, can you? Ah. Speak of the devil, and the devil appears.
Bill: We have some business, Katie.
Katie: Oh, really? Uh, with this? Oh, uh, you don't have to worry. She knows all about it.
Brooke: I wouldn't say that.
Bill: It was a very generous offer, wouldn't you say?
Katie: [Chuckles] She's actually not saying much. And why would she? I mean, you're the rock and I'm the hard place.
Bill: Then what was this meeting all about that you had to rush here before signing?
Katie: [Sighs] Oh, god, Bill. Do I have to sign this today? I don't even have a chance to think about it?
Bill: I just want to provide some stability for our son.
Katie: That's bull. Will is fine. This has nothing to do with him. You just think you're gonna have a better chance with Brooke if our marriage disappears. It's about expediency.
Bill: All right, Katie. Fine. You know, show it to Brooke. She cares about both of us. She won't tell you to sign it if she doesn't think it's fair.
Brooke: No, no. Leave me out of this.
Katie: No, I-I think it might be a good idea. You know, you can take a look and...testify to its generosity. I think something on the record might help a lot.
[Knock on door]
Quinn: Who is it?
Quinn: How did you find me?
Ridge: Persistence. Same thing that helped you make your way into my dad's bed.
Quinn: Does he know you're here? Clearly not.
Ridge: We don't discuss our, um, women. It never ends well. Ugh.
Quinn: Well, I'm not his woman anymore, if I ever was, or did Steffy leave that part out?
Ridge: I haven't talked to Steffy. She's on her way home now.
Quinn: Well, clearly she talked to someone.
Ridge: Well, that's what we do. We talk to each other. We're family. We don't sneak around, wearing mustaches.
Quinn: Mm. Yeah, well, clearly there are things that your father has kept private. And I could see why, but you know what? Just so you don't need to be concerned, Eric ended things between us.
Ridge: My question is why was there ever anything that needed to be ended in the first place.
Quinn: Okay. I went to Eric to see if he would rehire me. I showed him some pieces that I had designed. I was willing to steer clear of Forrester and work under an alias. But, you know, the conversation just... it never got that far, you know? And...things started to happen, not overnight. Questions arose. And then the answer always turned out to be...yes. Look, I was not looking for love. I was just looking for an income.
Ridge: And you thought that lonely old man would just give you that income without you having to earn it.
Quinn: [Chuckles] You're gonna believe whatever you want.
Ridge: Well, here's what I believe. I believe that Steffy's gonna end her marriage with your son just to get rid of you.
Bill: Please, Brooke, take a look at my offer and give Katie your honest opinion.
Brooke: [Sighs] Just grow up. Both of you. Really, how many years have you done this? How many years have you given me lectures about love, loyalty, and commitment, and here you are, ready to throw it all away? Think of all the time and the love that you put into your relationship. Deal with your anger. Think about what's best for your son.
Katie: That's a lovely sentiment, but after everything that's happened, it's really not possible.
Bill: So the best thing we can do for our son, Katie, is create a road map for the future that we can count on.
Katie: No, I suspect that's the best thing you can do for you.
Bill: Oh, all right. Tell me what you think is missing, and I will take it back to Justin.
Katie: [Laughs] I wouldn't trust Justin with my parking change. I will have my attorney draw something up. We will come up with a reasonable custody agreement, because we both agree that's important. I will take everything you're offering except the $50 million.
Bill: Well, I think it's very, uh, admirable that you want to earn your own way --
Katie: Oh, I know what I've earned. And I'm gonna get it.
Bill: Spencer Publications is off the table. Not one share. I certainly remember your threat to go after my company if I left you for Brooke. But that's not what's happening here, is it? Ask Brooke.
Katie: The days of you making me feel like I'm delusional are over. But I don't want anything to do with Spencer Publications. Although, don't delude yourself -- a judge would award me a sizeable chunk. And the publishing business is a bit cloudy. But I'm not worried. You'll innovate, and everything will be fine. And my son will be fine. No. What I want is your 12.5.
Katie: Percent. Of Forrester Creations.
Quinn: Wyatt knows something about managing difficult women, and I will trust the health of his marriage to him.
Ridge: Nothing Steffy asked you was difficult.
Quinn: Steffy asked me not to go near her, and I haven't.
Ridge: Not just her. Her family. We're very protective of dad.
Quinn: Okay, so... I'll repeat myself. Eric and I are over. But believe it or not, I was really good for him. I was. What -- what was he -- what was he to you? All of you? A-a mascot? A portrait of "our founder" who conveniently walks and talks? You couldn't push him out of his company fast enough. Out of his home. And, what, you're protective of your father. How? By taking his job? By coasting on the work that he did before you were even big enough to -- to tie your own shoes? He needs somebody supporting him. Something or someone to live for. At least I encouraged him.
Ridge: It was you, wasn't it? You put that idea in his head, that he's gonna be C.E.O. again.
Quinn: [Scoffs] You bet I did.
Ridge: Now, why would you do that?
Quinn: You think I'm a gold digger, Ridge? I think you're the gold digger. The power and position that are Eric's by right mean everything to you. The fact that he's a lonely old man who has no appeal but money is the story you keep on telling yourself because he's not dying fast enough for you to push him aside. That man deserves your respect. You are his right hand. That is a place of privilege.
Ridge: That's my dad. He's easily led by women like you. Obviously. My mom was always there to protect him. She was his shield and his sword. Now, here's the good news. I inherited my mother's strength and her meanness. I'm gonna pick up where she left off.
Quinn: [Sighs] Oh!
[Cell phone chimes]
