Episode # 7394 ~ Thomas sympathizes with Sasha and her sad childhood; Bill makes a settlement offer to Katie, but Ridge thinks she should ask for something more.
Provided By SuzanneBrooke: This isn't right.
Bill: I can't live without you, Brooke. I love you. And I know you love me, too.
[Cell phone dialing]
[Cell phone ringing]
Brooke: [Sighs] Hi.
Bill: You took my call. That's a good sign.
Brooke: Yeah. How are things?
Bill: Better now.
Brooke: Good. So you're working through this with Katie?
Bill: That's not what I meant. Better now because I'm talking to you. I want to see you.
Bill: I'm not going back to Katie. She doesn't even want that.
Brooke: Well, then you're not trying hard enough.
Bill: I did what you asked, Brooke. I gave will back to Katie. I want you.
Brooke: [Sighs] I got to go.
Bill: Brooke --
Ridge: Oh, boy.
Ridge: That was Spencer, wasn't it? It had to be.
Ridge: You still have feelings for him?
Brooke: I wouldn't be vulnerable to him if I didn't have feelings for him. But you know what? It is over between us.
Ridge: Hmm. I bet he sees that differently.
Brooke: [Chuckles] Yeah. Yeah, you think?
Ridge: I love that giggle.
Ridge: Always had that. Always made me feel good. And I could use some of that right now.
Brooke: What's going on?
Ridge: Well... turns out dad is dating someone. Quinn Fuller.
Katie: How are you settling in?
Bill: Getting by.
Katie: Hanging out at one of your lavish condos. It must be rough.
Bill: How are you and Will doing?
Katie: We're fine. Why did you want to see me?
Bill: We need to get along for Will's sake.
Katie: Yes, I agree.
Bill: Which means settling our...situation.
Katie: Our situation?
Bill: The marriage is over, Katie.
Katie: Yes, I think that's clear.
Bill: Well, that being said, I think the best thing for all concerned is to make this as quick and painless as possible. The settlement is very generous.
Sasha: It was okay.
Sasha: You know, not without drama, of course.
Thomas: Christening with drama. That's new.
Sasha: Yeah, well, my family thrives on it.
Thomas: Well, I'm gonna have to plan one of those for Douglas soon enough.
Sasha: Wait. Then it's true? He's your son?
Thomas: Yeah, I trust you're gonna be discreet about that. It's not public information yet. But yeah, I'm a daddy.
Sasha: How? Not that it's any of my business.
Thomas: It was, uh, it was one interesting night before dad and Caroline were married.
Sasha: Gotcha. And now?
Thomas: They're getting a divorce.
Sasha: Oh, wait. Is that why Caroline went to new York with Douglas?
Thomas: Yeah, Caroline needed to -- to clear her head about some things. She'll be back soon. I hope.
Sasha: You still have feelings for her, huh? How could you not? She is the mother of your child.
Bill: I'm going to write you a check. You won't be disappointed.
Katie: Oh, look who's here. Justin. Right on cue.
Bill: Justin worked out the details of the divorce.
Justin: It's pretty standard except for Bill's generous settlement.
Katie: Yes, I've been hearing about this.
Justin: You get the home, the cars.
Bill: We'll work out the shared custody details and that it's fair and most beneficial to Will. For that, all we need is your signature.
Katie: Is that all? I'm sure you want this done as quickly as possible so you can continue pursuing my sister.
Brooke: This is crazy! How long has this been going on?
Ridge: I don't know. They kept it under wraps.
Brooke: Does Steffy know?
Brooke: Well, I'm sure that didn't go over well.
Ridge: She exploded.
Brooke: Of course! [Sighs]
Ridge: I'm concerned about her marriage now, because her only stipulation was that Quinn stay away from them.
Brooke: So now Quinn is her grandfather's girlfriend?
Brooke: That is -- that's crazy.
Ridge: Puts a new slant on things, doesn't it?
Brooke: What kind of things?
Ridge: Things like dad deciding to be C.E.O. again. Wonder where he got that idea.
Ridge: Yeah. And I was all right with it -- if it was his idea. If it was Quinn's, not so sure.
Sasha: [Sighs] I love this.
Thomas: Of course you do. You look great in it.
Sasha: Do I?
Thomas: Okay, enough. Stop fishing for compliments. You're too good for that. Let me see what's going on over here.
Sasha: Are you always this blunt?
Thomas: It's a lot easier to be honest.
Sasha: Yeah, well, some women don't like that.
Thomas: That is their problem. And it is a problem.
Sasha: I agree. I bet Caroline appreciated your honesty.
Thomas: Yeah, Caroline and I, we're, uh, we're still trying to figure things out.
Sasha: That must be hard when she's clear across the country. That's got to be tough.
Thomas: It's not easy. Ideally I'd want the mother of my child to love me and want to start a family with me, settle down. It's traditional. I know.
Sasha: No, it's -- it's very refreshing.
Thomas: It's what Douglas needs.
Sasha: It is, Thomas. That is exactly what he needs.
Sasha: No, I'm serious. Promise me this. Promise me that Douglas will never know anything but your love. I don't care that you had him outside of a relationship. It doesn't matter if things don't work out with Caroline. Just don't treat him like... promise me your son will not know anything other than his father's love.
Katie: Let's just be honest. You want this over quickly so you can be with Brooke.
Bill: Can we leave Brooke out of this, please?
Katie: Oh, I think that is categorically impossible. She's the reason why you're divorcing me.
Justin: Irreconcilable differences is the cause for divorce, Katie.
Katie: Oh, yeah. That's such a good phrase. It can mean so many different things. He likes steak, I like fish. He's unfaithful, I'm not.
Bill: All right, Katie, we could snipe at each other and drag this out for years to come. Is that really what you want?
Bill: Our son to have to deal with a scandal for the rest of his life?
Katie: You know that's not what I want.
Bill: Then sign the papers.
Katie: Or else?
Bill: No. Not "or else." I already agreed not to take you to court for incompetence. I gave will back to you.
Justin: Why don't you read the settlement offer? I think you'll be satisfied.
Katie: Huh. $50 million.
Ridge: If I lost my job because Quinn Fuller put that idea in my dad's head...
Brooke: Would Eric really let her influence him with a decision like that?
Ridge: I don't know. I don't know how involved she is. I don't know what her motivation is.
Brooke: Who knows what she's got planned.
Ridge: My dad's lonely. He's vulnerable and...
Brooke: Yeah, but with Quinn?
Ridge: Why not Quinn?! She's a beautiful woman. She's pathological, but she's beautiful, and that's my dad's type.
Ridge: I don't mean all the time. It's just -- this is serious, Brooke. [Sighs] If she pushed him, we're gonna have a problem.
Brooke: Who knows what she'll have him doing next.
Ridge: She's a dangerous woman. It's gonna be dangerous for our family and for our company. We got to put a stop to it.
Sasha: Can you make that promise? Never, ever treat Douglas like he's some kind of mistake.
Thomas: I would never do that.
Sasha: Even if things don't work out between you and Caroline? Because sometimes when a man and woman break up, the father -- he abandons his child.
Thomas: Sasha, I love my son. I have no intention of turning my back on him. There is zero possibility of that ever happening.
Sasha: Okay, good.
Thomas: I-I know a little about your situation. You, Maya, and Nicole, you're -- you're sisters. But your father...
Sasha: Refused to be a father? At least to me, anyway. He's rejected me since the day I was born.
Thomas: I can only imagine how hard that must have been. You want to protect Douglas from going through what you went through.
Sasha: I wouldn't wish that on anybody. You don't want that for your son, Thomas. Trust me. You don't.
Katie: Most of this language grants Bill discretion, I see.
Justin: Yes, like the Stella Maris. You'll have access to it for the rest of your life when it's not in use. Yes, Bill has final approval of destinations and manifests for insurance reasons. Liability, you know.
Katie: I've been known to, uh, throw some pretty raucous parties on that boat. Wouldn't want any of my drunken friends falling overboard.
Justin: 50 hours use of the Spencer jet each year -- at no cost to you, of course.
Katie: "Arranged mutually with Mr. Spencer, who, again, retains full rights of approval."
Bill: Katie, you get the house, the cars, the jewelry, all personal items held jointly, not to mention the $50 million. It's a no-brainer.
Brooke: Do you really think he would let her have that kind of power?
Ridge: I don't know. We got to be careful. Dad owns the biggest chunk of this company, and then it's me, Steffy, Thomas, and Bill owns 12.5%. Call your sister. I want to talk to her right away.
Bill: $50 million, Katie.
Katie: Think of the contribution I could make to Liam's foundation. God knows you won't.
Bill: You can do whatever you want with it. You'll be set for life. Just sign it, Katie. It's best for all concerned, especially Will. He'll thank us someday for this.
[Cell phone tone plays]
Katie: I should get that. It's probably about Will. Hello?
Brooke: Hi. I'm at Forrester with Ridge, and we need to see you.
Katie: I'm a little busy right now.
Brooke: Oh, you're busy. Okay.
Ridge: Here. Katie, this concerns your future and Will's future. Please drop whatever you're doing. Meet us at Forrester.
Katie: Okay, I'll be right there. Got to go.
Bill: Where you going?
Katie: Uh, to Forrester to see Brooke. Should I say hello for you?
Bill: You should sign the settlement and then go.
Katie: Yeah, um... I'll think about it. Later, Bill. Justin.
Brooke: Ridge, what is going on?
Ridge: I've got a plan. A way to help Katie and Forrester Creations.
Sasha: [Clears throat] I'm sorry. I didn't mean to just go off like that. I can clearly see you're not the kind of guy who would just do that to his kid.
Thomas: It's okay. I get it. No kid should have to go through what you went through with your father.
Sasha: Um, I mean, I guess I turned out okay.
Thomas: Yeah, you did. Have -- have things gotten better with you and your father?
Sasha: [Sighs] One step forward, five steps back. It's kind of how it goes.
Thomas: Yeah, I get that.
Sasha: I know you do. And I'm glad that you're not the kind of guy who would ever be like that.
Thomas: I just -- I don't -- I don't understand how any father couldn't acknowledge their son or their daughter. That doesn't make sense.
Sasha: My father was under pressure, you know. He was gonna lose his marriage, access to his other kids.
Thomas: Have you been able to forgive him for that?
Sasha: I've tried, Thomas. I've really tried. But a life of rejection -- that leaves a scar. And I don't -- honestly don't know if I'll ever be able to recover from it. But thank you for listening.
Thomas: Yeah. Absolutely. And I really like working with you.
Sasha: Yeah. Yeah, me, too.
Thomas: So, let's get back to it. Go try on the next dress.
Brooke: Care to clue me in on your plan?
Ridge: It's all about family, and your sister could be the key.
Brooke: My sister?
Brooke: Who isn't a Forrester.
Brooke: Oh. Hi.
Katie: Here I am. What's going on?
Brooke: How are things at your home?
Brooke: So will's back there?
Katie: Yes, he is. He's a little confused, but he's getting a lot of my attention.
Brooke: Good. He needs that.
Ridge: How is Spencer treating you?
Katie: [Chuckles] Uh, well, I just came from meeting with him and Justin. They've offered me a settlement.
Ridge: But you didn't sign it?
Katie: I'm not signing anything until my lawyers look it over. But to be honest, I-I don't care about money. I just want my son.
Brooke: Of course, you do.
Katie: And Bill does have a point. The faster this is over, the better it will be for will.
Ridge: And -- and will is your priority, of course. But there's an opportunity here.
Katie: An opportunity?
Ridge: An opportunity to get what you deserve, which I'm sure is more than Spencer's offering you.
Katie: Well, Bill seems to think he's offering me quite a lot.
Ridge: Half his estate?
Katie: No, not quite that much.
Katie: Listen, a part of me would love to take him to the cleaners, but I want to keep this civil for my son's sake. Bill has all but threatened to take me to court and have me declared incompetent and go after full custody.
Brooke: If you don't sign?
Katie: That's the implication, yes.
Ridge: The only reason you were drinking in the first place is because of Bill.
Katie: Listen, I'm gonna take responsibility for that, okay? No one forced alcohol down my throat. That was me. But that's not the point. Someday Will is gonna go online, and he's gonna read all about Mommy and Daddy, and I don't want him to read about some ugly divorce where his father tries to get his mother declared incompetent. I'm not doing that. No way. I'm out. Bill wins.
Ridge: [Sighs] Don't sign those papers.
Katie: I just want my life back and my son.
Ridge: You will have it. You will have both and more. 12.5% more.
Katie: What are you talking about?
Ridge: Spencer's shares in Forrester.
Katie: Why would I want that?
Ridge: Because without it, the family might lose the company.
Katie: [Sighs] I'm sorry. I don't understand.
Brooke: Eric is seeing Quinn Fuller.
Katie: You've got to be kidding me. Are you serious?
Ridge: Yeah. My dad's lonely, and she has an agenda.
Katie: You can't let that woman anywhere near him.
Ridge: Well, she's there. Those shares are worth a lot of money, and you deserve it.
Katie: And I would be helping you and your family.
Ridge: Yes, you would help us secure the future of Forrester.
Ridge: You, me...and Brooke. .
