Liam: We can't let her win.
Steffy: She got inside my head.
Liam: What is that? Is that a wedding band?
Liam: It's what Quinn did to us. It's what she's still doing to us.
Steffy: [Crying] I don't want to hurt you.
Thomas: Note to self— No sparring with Steffy today.
Thomas: Some things clearly weighing on you, Steff.
Steffy: [Grunting continues]
Thomas: [Clears throat] I'm guessing that it has to do with Liam?
Steffy: [Grunts, breathes heavily]
Katy: [Chuckles] Okay. I am officially embarrassed.
Liam: Why? What?
Katy: Because you're checking up on me.
Liam: I'm — a little concerned. Yeah.
Katie: You don't have to be. I'm fine. I shouldn't have said anything last night.
Liam: Yeah, you should have. It's not good to have that stuff bottled up.
Katie: Let's just chalk it up to a momentary bout of insecurity. Please don't worry. I mean really—I'm okay. Dad's okay, Brooke's okay, and … I don't have any reason to think that they would hurt me again.
Bill: Thank you for coming.
Brooke: I shouldn't have.
Bill: Which tells me that you don't like how we left things, either
Brooke: I'm not betraying Katie… and you're not either.
Wyatt: Thanks for understanding that we couldn't have met at my place.
Quinn: Maybe someday, though?
Wyatt: Mom, can we just drop that please?
Quinn: Okay. Fine. I'll take what I can get.
Wyatt: Something's different about you.
Wyatt: Oh no. Not again!
Steffy: Sometimes exercise is just exercise. [Grunts]
[Cell phone ringing]
Thomas: All right. You're saved by the bell. Hold on.
Thomas: Hey, Granddad. What's up?
Eric: Tom, hi. I was wondering if you had any plans for lunch.
Thomas: Uh, yeah. Yeah, I do. Why?
Eric: Oh, you do? All right.
Thomas: Well, I can totally cancel. Why, what's going on?
Eric: No, no, no. Don't do that. You have a good time.
Quinn: There's something different about me?
Wyatt: I don't know! You tell me! You've got this positive glow about you, which is never good.
Quinn: Well, it's probably because you're here. Letting me be a part of your life.
Wyatt: Mom… you're my mother You're always gonna be a part of my life, okay?
Quinn: Yeah? Even if that wife of yours is trying to push me out of it?
Katie: You know the next time you see me like that, I think that you should just slap some sense into me.
Liam: Uh, okay. Or I could just not resort to violence and just gently remind you that my dad's crazy about you.
Katie: Yeah. I know he is.
Liam: Hey, Katie… My dad bends the rules with a lot of things. You're not one of them. And you have no reason to doubt him.
Brooke: Tell me about last night.
Bill: I went home to Katie, just as you asked. Tried reaching out, reassuring her.
Brooke: Good. That's what you should be doing every day. It won't be long, and --
Bill: And what? I'll forget that I had feelings for you? Never, Brooke. Never.
Steffy: Is Granddad okay?
Thomas: I guess. He just invited me to lunch. He hasn't done that in a while.
Steffy: He's probably worried about you.
Thomas: Maybe. But it's you he should be worried about.
Steffy: I'm fine.
Steffy: Mostly. [Sighs] There's just one problem -- I have a mother-in-law from Hell.
Wyatt: Can you blame Steffy for wanting to protect herself from you?
Quinn: I suppose not.
Quinn: But I just want to be a part of you two instead of being banned from my own son's house.
Wyatt: That's how it's got to be, Mom. Steffy needs you to stay away from her, from the company, from her family. Just please...stay away.
Eric: Ridge, yeah. I was thinking of going to Il Giardino for lunch. It would be a good chance for you and me and Caroline to catch up, see what's going on. What do you say? Oh, yeah. All right. No, no. It's all right. Don't cancel that. No, no. It's important. That's all right. It's just lunch. We'll do it another time. Bye-bye.
Liam: I'd better head to work before Dad gives Wyatt my parking spot.
Katie: Do you resent him?
Liam: My dad or Wyatt?
Liam: Yeah. Both. I do, definitely. I mean [Sighs] I don't know. To be fair, Wyatt really did think I was gone, so it's kind of hard to blame him for that. And Dad is just... protecting his son's marriage, and that's something he feels very strongly about, so it's kind of hard to resent that. I don't -- I don't always like what my dad preaches, but he does practice it. Exhibit "A" is his commitment to you and the family, and I think that's something we should all strive for, and that is why, as much as I wish Steffy and Wyatt's marriage would crash and burn, I kind of have to remove myself.
Katie: Well, I respect you for stepping back and just letting that marriage be. I know it probably doesn't feel like it, but it's the right thing to do.
Liam: Thanks. That means a lot, and I trust your judgment. Can you just -- Can you do me a favor, though? Can you promise me that you will be brutally honest with me if like 10 years from now, I'm still moping around, waiting for Steffy to leave Wyatt, and, meanwhile, they're on like their third honeymoon and 2.4 beautiful children?
Katie: I will slap some sense into you.
Liam: Ah! Thank you! Thank you for the violence.
Katie: And I trust your judgment, too. And I expect you to be just as honest with me, especially when it comes to your father and my sister.
Liam: Uh, yeah. Of course. I thought you were good with that.
Katie: Yeah. I am. It's just nice knowing that there's someone watching out for me.
Liam: Count on it.
Brooke: You can forget your feelings. You know I know. I've done it.
Bill: No, you didn't. Come on, Brooke. You shut yourself in your house. You got drunk every night, pretending to forget. I don't work that way.
Brooke: You don't need to. That's the point. You have Katie at home. You have Will. You don't need to think about me.
Bill: I think about you all the time. Don't you get it? Come with me.
Brooke: No, Bill.
Bill: One more time together. One more time.
Thomas: You definitely win a prize for world's worst mother-in-law.
Steffy: She, uh, paid us a visit the other day.
Thomas: Seriously? Again?
Steffy: I told her to stay away -- that she's not welcome in our home.
Thomas: Good. Good for you.
Steffy: Ohh. I just have to admit it. It doesn't feel good.
Thomas: Steff, you have every right not to want her around. After everything that she's done to you? I mean, imagine how much different your life would be if it weren't for Quinn.
Quinn: Is that the only reason you came over here -- to tell me to stay away from your wife?
Wyatt: No! Come on, Mom! Look, I care about you. I wish the situation was different, but it's not.
Quinn: How is it ever supposed to be different when I'm never allowed to speak to Steffy? You tell me how I'm supposed to make things right.
Wyatt: Well, you got to stop thinking that way! Making things right is not -- it's not your forte, Mom. If you do that, you're just gonna mess it up, and it's gonna make it a hundred times worse. Look...I see that you're trying. I see the change in you, okay? I'm proud of you.
Wyatt: And maybe Steffy will see it, too -- but on her own time, in her own way, without your help, okay? Just trust me. Do what she's asking. Stay away from the Forresters.
Eric: These are great pictures, John. Thanks for sending them. I should have joined you on this trip. Maybe next time. [Sighs] Maybe next time.
Brooke: One more time?
Bill: We need this.
Bill: I need this.
Brooke: You need Katie and Will.
Bill: Look, one more time, Brooke.
Brooke: It's too risky.
Bill: No, standing here, talking, is risky. Katie could walk in the door, and if she saw the way I was looking at you, she would know. Come on. Let's just -- Let's just go in there... where nobody can hear us, we can speak freely, we don't have to be afraid to be seen together.
Brooke: [Sighs] Okay.
Alison: Your lunch order. I've been waiting.
Bill: You decide.
Alison: Oh, such power.
Bill: Yeah, and wait for a few minutes to put it in, all right? Um...and I don't want to be disturbed, Alison, period.
Alison: Yes, sir.
Bill: No, I mean it. No interruptions -- not even from you. You understand?
Brooke: I don't feel good about this, Bill. I'm gonna just slip out the back.
Alison: Your father's not to be disturbed.
Alison: He's otherwise occupied. I'm ordering lunch. You want in?
Liam: Alison... occupied how?
Liam: By anything in particular? Or should I say, "Anyone"?
[Knock on door]
Quinn: May I? I, um... I know you said it was the last time, but... I was lonely, and I was wondering if... maybe you were lonely, too.
Steffy: Do you need a spotter?
Thomas: Nope. Fine. Got it.
Steffy: All right. Then I'm heading out. Bye-bye.
Thomas: Wait. Steff, hold up. [Groans softly] You know you can talk to me, right?
Steffy: Yeah, I know that, but I'm trying to move on with my life, so, yeah.
Thomas: Is that what you're doing? Is that what Liam's doing?
Steffy: He's trying. But ever since Bill told him to respect my marriage...
Thomas: Liam listened to that?
Steffy: [Sighs] It's not easy for him, but he respects Bill, especially when it comes to marriage.
Thomas: So, if Bill wasn't such a good example, then Liam would be fighting for you right now? I don't know, Steff. I just feel like something's gonna happen with you and Liam... like you guys might find your way back to each other.
Alison: It's no problem. I'll bring it right down. Don't say I never did anything for you.
[Elevator bell dings]
Brooke: Is Katie at home?
Brooke: Are you sure?
Bill: Yes, Brooke, I'm sure. Come on. You have to relax.
Brooke: I can't let her think that there's something going on between us, because there isn't. And there never will be again.
Bill: She said she would take Will from me.
Bill: If I were with you, she would go for full custody and try to go after my company, as well.
Brooke: Oh, my God. This is crazy. This is why we shouldn't be doing this. I am leaving.
Bill: Stay. Please stay.
Brooke: Bill, I am trying to do the right thing.
Bill: By denying your feelings?
Brooke: It's either that or hurt Katie.
Bill: You love me. I know you do.
Brooke: I'm not going to act on it. I can't keep making the same mistake. I'm not gonna do that to Katie or to your family. Besides, you just told me that she would take Will.
Bill: She never has to know.
Liam: I know you don't want to be disturbed. Dad?
Brooke: Being with you isn't just betraying my sister. It's betraying my brother, too. He died for her. And this is how I repay him?
Bill: You can't think of it that way, Brooke.
Brooke: His heart beats in her. He didn't give it to her for me to break.
Liam: That's why you can't be bothered -- a nap? [Scoffs]
Bill: I'm not letting you go.
Brooke: You have no choice. Yes, I love you. I always will. But I can't even express it. I can't let anybody see -- even you. And not even moments like this [Voice breaking] because I just don't even trust myself.
Bill: Then trust me. Trust we can do this, that we can have our time together. I need you.
Bill: Okay. Just one last time. One time holding you. One more time kissing you. One kiss, Brooke. One final kiss.
