Steffy: Okay, I love you, but we need to have a very -- a very clear understanding about this.

Wyatt: That you don't want Mom showing up at our door. I know.

Steffy: No, the problem isn't that she's not calling ahead.

Wyatt: I get it.

Steffy: Okay, Wyatt, I just don't want her near me or my family.

Eric: What took so long?

Quinn: I got caught up in something.

Eric: Not Deacon Sharpe?

Quinn: [Laughs] Please.

Eric: Your landline rang and rang.

Quinn: I think it's telemarketer's hour.

Eric: It's stalker's hour, too. I should know, ‘cause here I am again.

Quinn: You're nothing like Deacon.

Eric: Then what is it that keeps me coming back?

Quinn: Eric, you're not stalking me. You're saving me.

Katie: Sometimes I can't remember who I set out to be.

Bill: We're all right. You're all right.

Katie: I'm not crazy. But my mind goes to dark places sometimes.

Bill: You have trouble believing that I love you. Can you at least believe that I love our son?

Katie: Sure. Of course.

Bill: Can you imagine me ever doing anything to compromise my ability to raise him? I know if you were to divorce me, you'd go for sole custody.

Katie: I'd go for more than that.

Bill: Well, we'll never know. Because it's not going to happen.

Katie: Right. But if it did, and Brooke was the reason, I'd take your son, and your company, too. And not just half of it. All of it.

Brooke: Thank you. Again, I appreciate you coming to my rescue.

Ridge: Well, at least this time I didn't have to jump out of a helicopter without a parachute.

Brooke: I thought you would give up on me.

Ridge: I would never give up on you. But I think we both know that the only person who can rescue you from big, bad Bill is you.

Katie: [Scoffs] Sorry. I don't know why I'm talking like this.

Bill: Better for me to know how you feel.

Katie: I may sound angry, but I'm not.

Bill: If that's what you want to think.

[Cell phone rings]

Katie: Not saying I don't mean it.

Bill: I'll be available in the morning.

Liam: No, wait! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. Don't -- don't hang up. Where's your secret cash stash for under the table? I got a source asking for $5,000 for information I think is pretty worth it.

Bill: I pay you well enough. Withdraw it from your account.

[Cell phone beeps]

Bill:  Is this going to escalate to an accusation?

Katie: I just thought it would be nice if we're real with each other.

Bill: By threatening me?

Katie: I'm not threatening. Why don't we take the advice that you and Brooke are always giving me and not dwell on something terrible when there's no way it's gonna happen?

Brooke: Since you're the only one who knows, and who will ever know, about my second chapter with Bill, I have to say... I held back. We didn't...

Ridge: You didn't...? You -- Oh! You -- you -- you must have fought it, then.

Brooke: Yeah. I mean, really, there's no excuse. It's just, uh... I know I'm not a model of virtue, but I-I just couldn't take that last step.

Ridge: Must have been difficult for two people so in love to not do that.

Brooke: [Sighs] Yeah. It's progress. I wish Stephanie was here to call me " The girl who couldn't say no.” I would look at her calmly, and I would say, “You must have me mistaken for somebody else. I am not the slut from The Valley.

Wyatt: Please note I am not defending my mother or disputing your wishes here, but we're definitely gonna have to have a conversation about this conversation, 'cause you're sounding very aggressive toward me right now.

Steffy: And you're sounding like you're just not getting it.

Wyatt: Seriously?

Steffy: Yeah, no, there can't be a next time, Wyatt. I don't want your mom in my life.

Quinn: I'm not in prison. Which is a good thing. But I am a pariah.

Eric: Cause and effect, wouldn't you say?

Quinn: Yet here you are.

Eric: You asked me to evaluate some new designs.

Quinn: [Chuckles] That was a while ago.

Eric: I'm very thorough.

Quinn: [Laughs] Why aren't you scared of me?

Eric: I'm known for my bad judgment.

Quinn: [Laughs] Oh, that elusive something I always knew we had in common.

Alison: Do you need something, Liam?

Liam: Yeah, I do. Why is this locked?

Alison: Perhaps if I knew what you were looking for?

Liam: $5,000 in cash.

Alison: I'll be right back with it.

Bill: You're being a little bit passive-aggressive, don't you think?

Katie: Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. I shouldn't have said anything. I should have just let you go on about how much you love Will.

Bill: So, from your perspective, any parent who slips the knot of monogamy deserves to lose their children.

Katie: Well, how would you feel if I slipped the knot of monogamy? Isn't that what marriage is built on?

Bill: It better be built on a lot more than that if it's going to sustain itself.

Katie: Is this the "trust me” speech or the "I got to be me” speech? Just so I'm clear. Why are we arguing? Are we arguing? I mean, I'm merely telling you what I would do if you did something that you swear you never would. So it's a pointless conversation, right?

Bill: Yeah, you're right. It is a pointless discussion. And I've got to head to the office.

Katie: Really? At this hour?

Bill: Yeah. So, uh, you know, if you're ready for bed, don't wait up.

Katie: Did something come up? Was that Alison?

Bill: Liam. But I should be back in just a couple of hours. I'm glad we talked.

Katie: Talking's not the best thing we do.

Bill: Things do become slowly clearer.

Katie: I love you. I'm counting on you.

Bill: I love you, too, Katie.

Quinn: Cheers.

Eric: Remind me to get you some wine glasses, will you?

Quinn: Uh, I have wine glasses. They are not unpacked. I want everything in my life to be disposable right now.

Eric: Including this?

Quinn: Time will tell.

Eric: What am I doing here?

Quinn: Waiting for me to get undressed, I believe.

Eric: Just so we're still clear, nobody can know about this.

Quinn: Right. I'm a criminal.

Eric: That you are.

Quinn: Mm-hmm.

Eric: Our family would never understand. My grandchildren. Steffy. I'm not certain I do.

Quinn: It's all right. We can take all that off with our clothes.

Eric: All right. Yeah, let's do.

Liam: Hey. Sorry, I know it's late.

Katie: If you're looking for your father, he's not here. He's at the office.

Liam: No, I just came from there.

Katie: Well, that's where he said he was going. Maybe you missed him. Or maybe I misunderstood.

Liam: Huh.

Katie: You should call him.

Liam: No, it's fine. It'll wait till morning.

Katie: Well, if you're here, obviously it can't wait.

Liam: Well...

Katie: Are you my friend, Liam?

Liam: Yeah, of course I am.

Katie: How many of your father's secrets are you keeping from me?

Liam: Wow. Katie, kind of sounds like you're the one who needs to call my dad.

Katie: If I did, where do you think I'd find him? Do you think he would answer? Do you think he'd be alone?

Brooke: Thank you.

Ridge: For what?

Brooke: Being here for me. Just feels like, for a long time, you haven't been on my side.

Ridge: I'm sorry about that. I'm so-- I'm sorry --

Brooke: No, no. I-I'm not blaming you.

Ridge: Well, I'm blaming me. 'Cause if anyone deserves my loyalty, it's you. From now on, you will have it.

Wyatt: Are you finished laying down the law yet?

Steffy: Oh, is that what it felt like?

Wyatt: Yes, very much so.

Steffy: Okay, I know. I'm naturally abrasive like my grandmother. I get it.

Wyatt: Yeah, well, maybe you can teach me to be more abrasive, then, for the occasions when Mom stops by unexpectedly.

Steffy: No, no, no. You're plenty abrasive already, okay?

Wyatt: I am not abrasive. No, I am a sweetheart, okay?

Steffy: You are a handful. It's like your mom deluded you into thinking you're always right.

Wyatt: You know how I want to spend every night of our life, you know, being newlyweds? Talking about my mother. Let's continue to do this. This is so much fun for me. Are we done arguing?

Steffy: I'm not arguing!

Wyatt: Can we still have make-up sex?

Steffy: We -- we are not arguing!

Wyatt: We were arguing this whole time. We've been bickering this time right now.

Steffy: We are not --

Wyatt: Yes, about my mother.

Steffy: Wait, did you say... Did you say make-up sex?

Wyatt: Yeah.

Steffy: Maybe we are arguing.

Wyatt: Oh, now we're arguing. You hear the word "make-up sex."

Eric: You know, this was not some great, huge departure for me. I have a long, inglorious history of hooking up with bad girls.

Quinn: [Snickering]

Eric: There was Sheila, Sally, Jackie, Donna.

Quinn: Well, I-I don't know any of those women, but Donna? Ugh, I don't get her.

Eric: No?

Quinn: No, I don't get it. No.

Eric: Use your imagination. Come on.

Quinn: Mm...don't wanna.

Eric: There were pictures of that one. In the newspaper. People said that I wanted to get caught.

Quinn: Did you?

Eric: Maybe.

Quinn: Hmm. You know we've had this conversation before? You don't want your name associated with mine.

Eric: Well, it goes beyond appearances, you know. I don't like the things that you've done with some people I love.

Quinn: There's nothing I can do about them. I just have to live with the consequences.

Eric: That's not gonna be easy for you, is it? With Steffy and your son especially. You know I won't advocate for you. You know that. Not with them, not with anybody.

Quinn: You have this recurrent idea that I'm using you for something. And that's totally understandable. But the only thing that I'm using you for is your effect on me. You're kind. You're...undemanding. You're generous. And you treat me really well. Those are all things that I have learned to really appreciate. And that is all.

Katie: You know, when you've been told a lie, even once, a big lie, a life-changing lie, you think to yourself, “I am never gonna fall for that again. Next time, I'm gonna know what a big lie sounds like."  But if you listen closely to everything that -- that people say, you realize that it all sounds the same. And that everything could be a lie.

Liam: But it's not.

Katie: That's right. My husband loves me, and my sister loves me. It's not all a big lie.

[Cell phone rings]

Brooke: [Sighs] Don't call me.

Bill: I'm back at my office.

Brooke: Why?

Bill: I did what you asked. I went home to my wife. I said all the right things. She can't hear them anymore.

Brooke: Well, if you keep saying them, maybe she will.

Bill: No, Brooke. She knows what she knows about us. Our marriage is being held together by an act of will. And willpower fails. Katie struggles with that every day. And all she can think about now is how to punish me when it does.

Brooke: Willpower has nothing to do with it. I'm saying no.

Bill: Brooke --

Brooke: I'm saying no.

[Cell phone beeps]

[Steffy's flashbacks]

Steffy: I'm not telling you that you can't see your son. You just cannot come here. I thought you didn't want me.

Liam: I know. That was Quinn, Steffy. She made you think that. I'm the one standing here in front of you, loving you, wanting you more than I ever have.

Quinn: You could spend the night.

Eric: No. Thanks, but I can't get past the moment of waking up with you.

Quinn: Are you looking for these?

Eric: Yes, thanks.

Quinn: So, I may not be here this weekend, because I'm gonna be in Houston, I think, at a trade show for high-end jewelry designers. What?

Eric: I won't be coming back.

Quinn: You said that before.

Eric: You and I know this isn't going anywhere.

Quinn: [Scoffs] Eric, we're not vehicles. Where are we supposed to be going?

Eric: How long would it be before you start blackmailing me in that way you do?

Quinn: Well... Wait a second. I may not have money anymore, but money's never been my thing.

Eric: Yeah, some big advantage. You'd think of something.

Quinn: I might. I usually do. But... What if the advantage that I -- that I want is you?

Eric: Don't flatter a flatterer. There's a lot of years between us.

Quinn: You have wisdom. And you have class. And I haven't had that in a man since... I've never had that in a man, ever. So... Keep this as a souvenir. Or maybe you forgot a sock or your watch or... Maybe you're lonely. God knows I am.

Eric: Good night, Quinn.
