Steffy: You shouldn't be saying these things.

Liam: Saying what? That I love you? That I'll always love you? You show me a rooftop, Steffy, and I will shout it, 'cause you're supposed to be married to me, not my brother.

Steffy: Liam, I thought you left! [Sighs]

Liam: I get it, you know. Our lives were completely derailed. It's not easy for me to wrap my head around, you know, letting go of you, losing you. I love my brother, Steffy, but not that much, not enough to... hand you over to him. The only thing giving me pause is what my father said about the importance of respecting marriage and the example he sets by his commitment to Katie. That's it.

Katie: I'm so glad you stopped by. You haven't been here in awhile.

Wyatt: It's been hard to tear me away from home lately.

Katie: Ah, yes. Wedded bliss. I know it well.

Wyatt: Obviously it lingers. You seem happy.

Katie: Yeah. I am. I feel happy. And, of course, it has everything to do with your father.

Wyatt: Of course.

Katie: [Laughs]

[Birds chirping]

Brooke: We can't do this, Bill. I don't want to be this person. Katie is my little sister. I thought we decided this ages ago. And how did we get back to this place?

Bill: We never left it! We love each other, Brooke. You can't deny it.

Brooke: Yes, I do love you. But I can't betray my sister once again. I can't even look myself in the mirror.

Bill: Talk to your sister. Ask her how she's doing. She's happy! She's happy because of the change in me since we start--

Brooke: I don't want to hear it.

Bill: You need to hear it, because if I'm going to stay in this marriage, I have to have you in my life.

Brooke: Do you know how crazy that sounds?

Bill: Maybe it does. But I'm never letting go of you again.

Wyatt: Well, maybe I ought to sit at my father's feet and learn something.

Katie: [Laughs]

Wyatt: I mean, I want to keep that glow on Steffy's face, kind of like the one you're wearing right now.

Katie: I'm sure you're doing fine.

Wyatt: Yeah, I hope so. Look, I'm -- I'm glad to hear that things are going well for you.

Katie: Yeah. Yeah, you know, I mean... Bill and I are good right now, you know? And I have my son, and I'm working things out with my sister. And... life around here couldn't be better.

Brooke: [Sighing] Oh, my God.

Bill: You want this as much as I do, Brooke.

Brooke: It doesn't matter. We can't do this, Bill, this sneaking around. Oh, which reminds me, I didn't want to text you, but I think I-I lost my earring in that room.

Bill: Don't worry. I got it. Come here.

Brooke: [Sighs] Bill.

Bill: Less talking, more of this.

Brooke: Okay, it's not gonna happen. It --

Bill: Uh, it's happening.

Brooke: Mmm. Ooh! Oh, my goodness.

[Knock on door]

Rick: Mom. You in there?

Liam: My father says I'm supposed to let you go, respect your marriage. [Chuckling] I just wish I knew how.

Steffy: I don't know. I don't know. It's hard for me, too, but we have to. You heard Bill. He'll cut you off from the family.

Liam: I don't care about that.

Steffy: You're a Spencer. That means everything to you.

Liam: That doesn't mean much without you. You know, I keep -- I keep doing this thing where I replay the happy ending in my head over and over -- you get an annulment and we leave LA, and we start over someplace new, and that's...

Steffy: [Chuckles]

Liam: In reality, Quinn got every single thing she wanted -- you stuck in a marriage to my brother.

Steffy: I'm not stuck! This isn't just about Quinn!

Liam: Yeah, well, it should be about us.

Steffy: [Sighs]

Liam: The future that we had together, the future that was stolen from us! I -- God, I wish I could just chew my arm off or jump off a cliff or something.

Steffy: Don't -- Don't -- Liam, don't say that!

Liam: You know what's funny? It's funny how one ordinary day in a parking lot changed the course of our lives.

Steffy: I know. I know! It's crazy to me, too. But the thought -- the thought of leaving Wyatt, divorcing him, everything that comes along with it, the problems that we had before. I'm married to your brother.

Katie: You can't honestly tell me that you weren't nervous when Liam came back, and you were married to Steffy.

Wyatt: Nervous to tell him, but Steffy and me? No, not -- not one bit.

Katie: Seriously?

Wyatt: Well, yeah. I know what Steffy and I have. It stands on its own. We're solid and -- and, you know, it's a better fit than Steffy and Liam ever were. All right, I'm not worried about anyone taking my wife away from me.

Katie: Good.

Wyatt: Yeah.

Katie: Yeah, I feel the same way about Bill -- finally. [Chuckles]

Wyatt: Yeah. It's the getting there that matters, not how long it took, right?

Katie: Yeah.

Wyatt: I'm glad you and Dad are back in a good space.

Katie: Me, too. It's funny -- There's been kind of a change in him lately. He just seems...more at peace.

Wyatt: Hmm.

Katie: I haven't seen him like that in a long time.

[Knock on door]

Rick: Mom.

Brooke: Uh --

Rick: Is everything okay?

Brooke: Yes, honey! Just fine! [Whispers] Get under the bed!

Bill: [Whispers] I'm not going under the bed. Did you not learn anything from going under the bed?

Brooke: Get in the bathroom! [Sighs] [Sighs] Oh, hi, honey. What's up?

Rick: I'm sorry. Were you -- Were you sleeping?

Brooke: Uh-huh.

Rick: Oh, I didn't -- I didn't realize you were napping.

Brooke: [Sighs]

Rick: Are you sure you're okay? You seem like you're out of breath.

Brooke: Oh. [Chuckles]

Liam: So you married Wyatt. You weren't planning a future with him, but it happened so fast.

Steffy: Yeah, you're right. You're right, Liam. It happened so fast. You know, sometimes I can't believe it myself. Wyatt and I, we got caught up in something, but it doesn't mean what I feel for him isn't real.

Liam: And yet I can't help but wondering if you had just waited a little bit.

Steffy: I -- [Scoffs] I thought you didn't want me!

Liam: I know. That was Quinn, Steffy. She made you think that. I'm the one standing here in front of you, loving you, wanting you more than I ever have.

Steffy: You need to understand, Liam, that I made vows, and I meant them. [Sighs]

Liam: So you... you really love him.

Steffy: [Sighs] [Voice breaking] The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But as far as I knew, you left, and you were never coming back, at least not for me. So I had to move on.

Liam: Can you really do that? Can you just...forget?

Steffy: No. I'm never gonna forget, not one single -- You know, we shouldn't -- [Sighs] We should not be talking about this.

Liam: Not talking about it is not gonna change what we have.

Steffy: Liam, I cherish us. Everything that we've been through. But we need to move on.

Liam: How am I supposed to do this? How am I supposed to look at those eyes, look at those lips, and not want to kiss them?

Steffy: Hold me. Just -- Just hold me.

Wyatt: It was quite the family meeting today, wasn't it?

Katie: Yeah. Yeah, but you know what? I was proud of Bill, you know, the way he stood up for you, and he said we all had to respect you and respect your marriage. I loved that.

Wyatt: Yeah. I mean, there was a time that I thought Dad would never take my side over Liam's, no matter how wrong he was.

Katie: Well, I'm glad the two of you are closer now.

Wyatt: Think Liam will stick to his word? Back off Steffy?

Katie: Well, I don't really know that Bill has given him any choice. And -- and I stand by my husband on this one. I mean, he was right to give him an ultimatum. We cannot be strong as a family and as Spencers if there's this dynamic between you and Liam.

Wyatt: Right. I agree. You know? And it means a lot, Dad taking my side and you agreeing with him. It means a lot.

Katie: Well, it might take him a little longer than most, but eventually Bill does the right thing.

Wyatt: Well, a lot of that is because of you and your influence, you know.

Katie: We've had our challenges, but I like to believe that we're good for each other.

Wyatt: Yeah. Well, I'm glad to hear that you feel that things are back on track.

Katie: Yeah. We're happy. And I'm -- I'm working to put my relationship with my sister back together.

Wyatt: Hmm.

Katie: I can just sometimes go to a dark place with her. Not sure if I trust her.

Rick: You sure you're okay?

Brooke: Yeah, yeah. Just, um, just a little sleepy, that's all.

Rick: Oh, my God, Mom. Are you sweating? Do you have a fever?

Brooke: Uh...

Rick: You're definitely hot, and you seem all flushed. Let's get you back to bed. Come on.

Brooke: Oh, oh -- [Sighs]

Rick: Oh. Oh! I... [Chuckles] I-I just came by to let you know that I spoke to Ridge and, uh, he admitted that Forrester needs me. He's gonna find some projects for me, even said he wants to work together with me, which means that Maya, Lizzy, and I, we're not leaving town after all.

Brooke: Oh! That's -- That's great! I'm so happy!

Rick: Yeah.

Brooke: As it should be.

Rick: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: Thank you!

Rick: Yeah.

Brooke: Thank you for telling me that.

Rick: Now I'm gonna get out of your hair, which is a bit of a mess. I'm -- I'm just saying. [Laughs] I'm just saying. [Clears throat] By the way, whoever the lucky guy is, I'm happy for you.

[Door closes]

Brooke: Oh, God. [Sighs]

Bill: You okay?

Brooke: No! No, I am not okay! What if the door wasn't locked, and he just barged on in here, and he saw the two of us together? As it is, he knew somebody was in the bathroom! [Sighs]

Bill: Well, that's good.

Brooke: How? How is that good?

Bill: Because it will deflect suspicion. It proves you've moved on.

Brooke: [Sighs]

Bill: And on top of that, Ridge wants to work with Rick, so your family's not going anywhere.

Brooke: Yes, I know. I-I didn't want to lose them.

Bill: Well, you're not losing anyone. You have a full life. And that's where I come in. I want to make you happy. No more tears, no more pain. Just you and me.

Brooke: We don't have that right.

Bill: We don't have a choice. The situation is far from ideal, but for now, this is the only way we can be together. I need this, Brooke. So do you.

Liam: Holding you like this, touching you... and knowing I have to let you go, I... Hey, do you remember when we first met?

Steffy: Yeah.

Singer: It's unusual as we travel through life out of all of these paths, you cross mine. Yeah, you taught me to love that we change and we grow. So let's take life on a journey down a long road. You never know where life will take you. You never know you might find. No one said we would walk forever. Every step I still remember when you were mine

Liam: This is wrong. It's not supposed to end like this.

[Birds chirping]

Katie: Your father's right, you know. Regardless of how it happened, you and Steffy are married, and Liam has to respect that.

Wyatt: This is hard on him. And Steffy, too. Look, I'm not naive. [Scoffs] I know Steffy's... feelings for him have not just magically disappeared. And I know it's gonna take awhile for those emotions to settle, especially for Liam. Steffy's got me and our life. Liam kind of lost everything.

Katie: Well, that's very understanding of you.

Wyatt: Well, I feel for the guy. I'd go crazy, too, if I lost Steffy. And I'm not about to hand her over, either. Besides, that's not what she wants. She's happy with me. She's not going anywhere.

Steffy: [Sighs] You got it back.

Liam: Symbol of what it means to be a Spencer. Honor, integrity. Commitment. You and Wyatt are my family now. You're... you're my family. Wow. That's... [Sniffles] I'm gonna have to learn to accept that, and, uh... That will be the hardest thing I've ever done. But I guess I'll just live for moments like this, right? And hey, you know, if that's, uh, if that's all I ever get, then, um... Then that's just how I'm gonna live.

Brooke: This sword is significant to you. The symbol of what it means to be a Spencer man.

Bill: True.

Brooke: And you feel so strongly about it that you have your sons wear it... to remind them of who they are and what they stand for, what you stand for.

Bill: Where are you going with this, Brooke?

Brooke: It seems a little hypocritical. We should hold ourselves at higher standards, just like we expect from our children. You want Liam to respect Wyatt and Steffy's marriage, and yet here we are disrespecting yours. Where's the honor in that?

Bill: I've been the exception to the rule my whole life. In this situation, this rule has an exception, as well. Us. We're saving my marriage. I can't be in it if I don't have you. Now, I know you worry and you torture yourself with guilt. But you'll handle it with Rick. Katie will never know. And she'll be happy. And we'll have our secret.

Brooke: You can't just stop by unannounced.

Bill: We'll set our times. Whatever you want. But just know I can't live without you.

Liam: No matter how difficult it is, I have to live up to my father's expectations. I have to be a Spencer. A man of honor.

Bill: To hell with honor.
