Episode # 7352 ~ Bill uses his connections to find out if Wyatt & Steffy's marriage is legitimate; Liam sees a perfect opportunity to go after what he wants.

Provided By Jim

Wyatt: I can't believe it.

Reverend Rydale: So... married life treating you well, Wyatt?

Liam: Hold on a second. This guy, who broke into my house, he --

Wyatt: He's the minister who married Steffy and me, yes.

Thomas: Am I interrupting? Hopefully, you and Wyatt aren't doing anything I might have nightmares about, right?

Steffy: No, he's not here.

Thomas: Good. Good. It's just us.

Steffy: So, you just dropping by, or did I forget something?

Thomas: No. No, no, no. I had dinner nearby, and I wanted to take my chances, come see you, and get some sister time.

Steffy: Ohh!

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: I love that. So, how's everything going over at the big house?

Thomas: [Sighs] Uh... Interesting.

Steffy: Inter-- Ooh.

Thomas: Yeah.

Steffy: That's cryptic.

Thomas: Do you think I look fat in this suit?

Steffy: Yes, you look so fat.

Thomas: Thank you.

Steffy: So, so fat. No! What, are you -- are you gaining weight?

Thomas: Yeah, I'm trying to. I want to look like Superman in a few days. Also, eating out a lot and, uh, [Sighs] having a tough time at the house.

Steffy: What's going on with you and Dad this time?

Thomas: Nothing I want to tell you.

Steffy: You can talk to me. Maybe I can help out.

Thomas: No, you can't. Trust me. Besides, it's nothing that we can't negotiate. That's not what I came here for. I came here to talk about you. I wanted to see how you're doing, how things are working out in your marriage.

Reverend Rydale: It never ceases to amaze me how small the world is, especially in L.A. It seems like you just keep running into the same 200 people. I don't know, there's something about this city, you know, the way it pulls in like-minded folks from all over the world that would instantly recognize each other if you just take a second and look up from your phone.

[Telephone rings]

Bill: Hey, Liam. What's up?

Liam: Hey. I'm at the police station.

Bill: Police station? You in trouble?

Liam: No. Uh, someone else is. [Scoffs]

Bill: Quinn!

Liam: No, actually. Uh, some guy broke into my house. I just ID'd him.

Bill: I'm on my way. Fill me in when I get there.

[Cell phone beeps]

Liam: Well, Dad's on his way.

Reverend Rydale: Huh. I guess I picked the wrong house to slip into.

Liam: I'm sorry. "Slip into"?

Reverend Rydale: I like Mr. Spencer. He spoke so eloquently at your wedding.

Wyatt: Yeah, about that. I probably should have done a lot more research, but Steffy and I were trying to get married in the moment, and the guy had good reviews.

Reverend Rydale: 4 1/2 stars. Should have been 5, but this --

Wyatt: I mean, I can't even believe this! You broke into my brother's house, what, to rob him blind?

Reverend Rydale: No, just what I could carry. I hit some hard times. I was just trying to get by. I'm not greedy.

Wyatt: You're my reverend! My minister! Like, you -- you're the guy who pronounced Steffy and me husband and wife! Like, we entrusted our future!

Reverend Rydale: I'm honored! It was a beautiful wedding.

Steffy: Marriage is everything I expected and more.

Thomas: Happy, happy, happy, happy?

Steffy: Happy, happy, happy. Exactly. What? You don't believe me?

Thomas: Do you believe yourself?

Steffy: You know, I hate when you do that -- You answer a question with a question. Like, do you do that to annoy me, or are you trying to imply something?

Thomas: Oh, I think you know. Thank you. Steff, I don't doubt your love for Wyatt, and I don't dispute your commitment for your marriage. But things have changed since that day on the beach.

Steffy: No, not really. Not between Wyatt and me.

Thomas: Liam's back. That puts a spin on everything. You and Wyatt, you're good together. But you and Liam -- you guys have something special. You gonna deny that?

Reverend Rydale: Boy, does that smell good.

Lt. Baker: Well, nothing beats a good old All American hot dog.

Reverend Rydale: I don't suppose you'd be inclined to part with the other one in the bag.

Lt. Baker: Hey, hey, hey, hey! You know, I could just put you in a holding cell back there, right? I mean, you could just sit there and wait for your paperwork to be done, but no, you're milling around in my office, sniffing around in my food. Why? Because I'm in a good mood! You want me to stay in a good mood? Then back up off my hot dog.

Reverend Rydale: Oh! Sorry.

Bill: You all right?

Liam: Yeah.

Bill: What happened?

Liam: Uh, I heard some noises, went to check it out, found this guy in a ski mask going through all my stuff, and I hit him with a golf club.

Bill: Hard?

Liam: Yeah. He went down.

Bill: Good. But why does he...look a little bit familiar?

Liam: Ahh.

Wyatt: [Sighs] Dad... say hi to Reverend Rydale.

Bill: Reverend Rydale?

Wyatt: The minister who married Steffy and me.

Bill: Reverend...Ry...dale.

Thomas: At least they caught the guy, I mean... Poor Liam. He can't seem to catch a break, can he?

Steffy: Yeah.

Thomas: Steff, I'm not trying to pressure you into talking about anything. If anything, I'm trying to relieve that pressure. Okay? You can't keep denying the way that you feel about these things. You can't keep it bottled up. It's not good for you. You can talk to me about anything. You know that. I'm never gonna judge you.

Steffy: You never do.

Thomas: Well, you're my sister. That makes you practically perfect.

Steffy: That is true.

Thomas: Yeah. Steff... I know you, okay? I know how deeply you love, and I know how you go all-in with anything that you do. Your marriage, everything -- I know that you want to honor your commitment to Wyatt.

Steffy: Yeah, I do.

Thomas: But there's just one problem. What you thought happened didn't. Liam -- Liam didn't dump you. He got taken, and now he's back, and he's fighting for his future with you. He wants you back, and I think -- and I think that you want that, too.

Steffy: But I can't, Thomas. Liam and I can never happen again because of Quinn. Ohh! I should have been smarter about her from the beginning. You know, I heard stories about how was she all crazy in Paris, and then -- and then, I saw it, how she was targeting Liam. But Quinn is good. She is so good at being contrite and pretending to be normal that you just -- you believe it. You say, "Oh, she's okay. She's being so productive."

Thomas: Quinn is a high-functioning psychopath.

Steffy: Yeah, and -- [Sighs] Wyatt really wants to believe that the good part of Quinn is gonna win out over the insanity, and I really want to believe that, but... [Sighs] You know, I gave her a chance. Look what happened. My whole life has been altered, and if I could change one thing about my marriage, it would be her. I cannot stand Quinn.

Thomas: If Quinn had never kidnapped Liam, if he hadn't been away for so long... you would be his wife, not Wyatt's.

Lt. Baker: Thank you. Congratulations. Another goal has been reached. You have been processed into the system.

Reverend Rydale: Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to wake you up. I thought I'd be in and out.

Liam: Yeah, with as much cash as you could carry.

Reverend Rydale: I live near the beach, but not like you. I -- I didn't think that you would miss a few bucks.

Bill: Well, you got caught. Now you're gonna pay the consequences.

Reverend Rydale: Yeah. That sums it up neatly. Lieutenant.

Wyatt: Wait. I need some reassurance here. You -- You officiated our wedding. Steffy and I believed that your credentials were valid. We trusted you with the most important day of our life. So I need to know if you filed those papers in your legal capacity as a minister.

Reverend Rydale: Don't worry. I got you, bro.

Steffy: Yes, I -- I love Liam. And I always will. I can't deny that. But I take my vows and my marriage very seriously. I didn't just stand on a beach with Wyatt and say a bunch of words that I didn't mean.

[Cell phone chimes]

Lt. Baker: Well, it's all set. If the good reverend can't make bail, we'll hold him till the preliminary hearing. Assuming you still want to go forward with the charges.

Bill: My son will be pressing charges -- this time. And if he doesn't, I will. It's my house.

Lt. Baker: Well, Liam, what's it gonna be?

Liam: Yes. Yeah. Of course, I'm gonna press charges. The guy tried to rob me. It's pretty clear-cut.

Bill: Attaboy.

Liam: All right, Lt. Baker, are we good? Am I good?

Lt. Baker: Yeah, you'll be hearing from me.

Liam: Great. [Claps hands] Great. [Clears throat]

Bill: Where you going?

Liam: I just -- I have something to, uh, take care of. Thank you for coming. Thank you.

Thomas: Well, where are you going all of a sudden?

Steffy: I won't be long. You can wait here if you want.

Thomas: No, no. I guess I'll, uh, I'll head home.

Steffy: How's Douglas?

Thomas: He is...astonishing.

Steffy: Big word for a little guy.

Thomas: I mean it. I mean, that guy's rocked my world.

Steffy: He's lucky to have you as his brother.

Thomas: Yeah. That text -- that was Liam, right?

Steffy: Yeah. He said he wanted to see me -- said it was urgent.

Thomas: Okay, fine. One last question, and then I'll leave it alone forever, for now. I know Wyatt -- he stepped in in a time when you needed him and that you are grateful. But does all of that translate to love?

Steffy: Thomas, trust me -- I wouldn't have married Wyatt if I didn't love him.

Bill: Nice of you to be here for your brother.

Wyatt: Of course.

Bill: You all right?

Wyatt: Oh, you know. Just a little freaked out. The guy who officiated my wedding broke into my brother's house and tried to rob him, but, you know...

Bill: Begs the question.

Wyatt: Don't. Don't think that I haven't been asking myself that question. What do you think? You think I should be worried if my marriage is legal or not?

Bill: Not a fan of worry. Passive action gets you nowhere.

Wyatt: Who are you calling?

Bill: City clerk. My girl Emmy. We'll get the answer you need tonight.

[Door opens]

Liam: Hey. You're here. Great.

Steffy: Are you okay? I couldn't tell from the text.

Liam: Yeah, no, I'm okay. I'm -- [Chuckles] I'm more than okay.

Steffy: How'd it go at the station? Did they catch the guy?

Liam: Maybe you better sit down.

Steffy: Why? What's -- What's wrong?

Liam: No, no.

Steffy: Did something happen?

Liam: No, nothing's wrong. It's just something you're not expecting to hear. Um... What happened tonight, if I'm right about this, could change everything for us, Steffy. I mean, you'd be free.

Steffy: Free to --

Liam: Free to be with me again.

Steffy: I'm so-- What are you talking about?

Liam: Okay, okay. I'm talking about us moving on with our lives the way we always planned.

Steffy: I guess you better fill me in.

Liam: Okay. All right. Okay. So... The guy who broke into my house tonight...

Steffy: Mm-hmm.

Liam: ...is the same guy who married you to Wyatt.

Emmy: I wouldn't have driven back here for anyone but you, Mr. Spencer.

Bill: What's this "Mr. Spencer" nonsense, Emmy? You know it's "Bill." And I appreciate you coming back. I didn't take you away from anything important, did I?

Emmy: Oh, no. You know, just gonna binge-watch a little something, but -- Hey. Once we're finished here, why don't you come back and join me?

Bill: Well, that is very tempting. But I'm dealing with this situation. How about a rain check?

Emmy: Well, rain's good. Had a little drought. So, what can I do for you?

Bill: Uh, well, uh, my son -- Wyatt Spencer -- he married Stephanie Forrester. You might have heard something about that.

Emmy: Oh, yes -- saw the pictures in the magazines. Congratulations.

Wyatt: Thank you. Yes. Uh, Reverend Rydale was supposed to file all the paperwork with you, and I'm kind of a detail-oriented guy. I just want to make sure everything's in order for our marriage.

Bill: We'd like to take a look at all the pertinent documents... make sure everything is just, you know, nice and legal.

Emmy: Nice and -- nice and legal. Fives. Okay, I got you. I'm gonna go to the file room and see if he did just that.

Bill: We're gonna wait right here for you. [Thud] That's my girl Emmy.

Steffy: Are you sure about this?

Liam: Oh, yeah! No, Wyatt ID'd him. Actually, he didn't even have to I.D. him. Rydale, right? That's the guy's name? As soon as he saw Wyatt, he started speaking up. He was like, "Hey, dude, how's married life?"

Steffy: So, a reverend robbed you?

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: That doesn't make any sense.

Liam: I don't know. I don't know. He's a shady guy. He fell on hard times. He -- Where did you find him, by the way?

Steffy: [Sighs] Wyatt found him online, on one of those review sites.

Liam: Huh. Well, either way, looks like things are gonna change -- this time, in our favor. [Chuckles]

Steffy: Wait. Does this mean my marriage isn't legal?

Liam: I don't think so. I mean, I -- I really don't think so. I -- I got this feeling. Steffy, I have a feeling that things are finally gonna turn around for us. And come on, I mean, we -- we were always meant to be together, right? It's just we had terrible luck, like -- Like, really terrible luck. Like, the worst luck. Just one obstacle after another. And yet, every time, we would find our way back to each other. And you know why? Because what we have is real. And it doesn't actually matter what or who gets in our way. Yeah, this time, it was Quinn, right? If she hadn't taken me hostage, if I had been around, we would have resolved whatever issue you say that we were having at the time, and there's no way, not a chance in hell you would have married Wyatt. You know that's true. Look, maybe -- maybe what happened tonight goes deeper than a minister with criminal tendencies. Maybe he's not a minister at all. And if that is the case -- if it's the case -- then you have an out. You can -- You can come back to me. I mean, I -- I know you have feelings for Wyatt. I know that. But they don't compare. They don't even compare to what you feel for me.

Steffy: [Scoffs] We still don't know for sure.

Liam: I do. I know it. I know it. I know it. I know it because we did not come all this way for you to end up married to my brother. That's a fact. I am yours, just like you're mine. This marriage to Wyatt can't be legal.

Wyatt: A valid marriage certificate shouldn't be that hard to find, right?

Bill: Emmy's on the case, Wyatt. It hasn't been that long. You got to relax. Listen, before we leave this building tonight, you're gonna know where you stand.

Wyatt: Yeah, but... do I really want to? I mean, what if I find out that our marriage isn't valid? I... I could lose her, Dad.

Bill: Not necessarily. You and Steffy have a solid relationship.

Wyatt: Yeah, the best I've ever had. I mean, I -- I'm a better match for her than Liam is. And...look, I'm not stupid. I know that she has a blind spot for the guy. And don't think Liam wouldn't be taking advantage of this situation, all right? I know I would. Some people say that I already have.

Bill: Steffy chose to marry you.

Wyatt: Yeah. And you know what? She'd choose it again, too, if she had to, 'cause we're a family now, permanently. So, is that it? Look, I need to know.
