Steffy: This doesn't make sense. I don't understand. You didn't just say --

Liam: I know it's a shock.

Steffy: It's a lie. You wouldn't do that. No, you wouldn't, Liam. Marry Ivy?

Liam: I had to.

Steffy: What?

[Ivy’s flashback]

Ivy: My husband.

[Present time]

[Door closes]

Quinn: Hey. Sorry we got interrupted. You know, I knew Liam would take pity on you.

Ivy: Thanks.

Quinn: Oh, no, not that you're pathetic or need a man's help.

Ivy: Well, in this case, I did with that whole threat of deportation and all.

Quinn: Ah. Liam wouldn't have let that happen.

Ivy: No. Thankfully not. [Chuckles]

Quinn: Look at you.

Ivy: What?

Quinn: You're so content.

Ivy: [Sighs]

Quinn: The blushing bride. Yesterday you were so scared you were gonna be sent back to Oz, and today you are the perfect picture of American happiness.

Ivy: Quinn, this is just an agreement.

Quinn: Hmm. Hmm, hmm, hmm.

Ivy: It is, seriously. We have an understanding.

Quinn: Yeah. I think this marriage means more to you than that.

Woman:  Thanks for spotting me.

Wyatt: [Chuckles] Yeah, anytime.

Woman:  I don't know about you, but the steam room's calling.

Wyatt: [Chuckles] Uh, well, I got a few more sets, but maybe I'll meet you down there.

Woman:  I hope so.

Wyatt: [Chuckles] [Grunts] What the Hell?

Bill: What are you doing?! Get down to the steam room and ask that girl out!

Wyatt: Eh. I don't know.

Bill: "Eh"?! She's a lot more than "eh"!

Wyatt: She's definitely more than "eh." But, I don't know, she's --

Bill: "But." "But." But what? She's not Steffy?

Wyatt: Look, you don't have to say anything. I already know how you feel. Steffy's the chosen one for Liam.

Bill: Come on, Wyatt. They were married. They have a history.

Wyatt: Funny thing about history.

Bill: It repeats itself.

Wyatt: I was gonna say it's in the past. Liam's moved on. He's with Ivy now.

Ivy: Liam stepped up. He did what he needed to do to keep me in the country. Anything else beyond that, I... I'm not getting my hopes up.

Quinn: It's okay to admit that you want things to work out with your husband.

Ivy: [Chuckles] My husband. I have a husband.

Steffy: You had to marry her? I don't -- I don't get it. Is -- is this a joke? It's true?

Liam: Yeah, I'm married.

Steffy: [Gasps]

Liam: But it's not how it sounds, Steffy. Ivy was in trouble. I did it to save her.

Wyatt: [Sighs] Ah --

Bill: Just in case you need another one for the steam room.

Wyatt: Wow. You are trying way too hard. What are you even doing here, anyway? Trying to play matchmaker with girls you don't even know.

Bill: I'm looking after my 12.5%.

Wyatt: Ohh. Someone doesn't trust Liam as much as he pretends to.

Bill: Oh, I trust Liam and Steffy are going to do a good job. That doesn't mean I'm not going to look after my investment.

Wyatt: Hmm. You know, I hope you aren't too disappointed when you find out that this is just gonna be a working relationship between them, because I think it's gonna be hard for Liam to walk away from Ivy right about now.

Bill: Yeah, and I hope that you are not too disappointed when he does. All right, look, Wyatt, you know, you -- you gave Steffy a little kiss, you're developing a little crush. Very sweet. I get it. But you have got to be realistic. If Steffy wants to be with Liam, she's going to be, and there is nothing that that sweet girl and her cute, little accent can do to stop it.

Ivy: [Sighs] You know, it just -- it just feels safer to see this as a business arrangement. I mean, do I want more? Yeah. Of course I do. But Liam isn't ready for something like this, and I'm certainly not gonna push him.

Quinn: Why not?

Ivy: Because he needs time to figure out exactly what he wants now that Steffy's back in the picture.

Quinn: Yeah, but Liam doesn't need to rescue Steffy. I mean, you're the delicate, desperate one depending on him to keep you safe. I mean, Liam -- he's one of those guys who needs to feel powerful and -- and manly. He needs to be the hero.

Ivy: Quinn, that's not really something I want to base my marriage on.

Quinn: But it's so much more than that. I mean, Ivy, he jumped into the Seine for you. He jumped into this marriage for you. He wouldn't do that if he didn't love you.

Steffy: You married Ivy to save her?

Liam: Yes.

Steffy: That makes zero sense.

Liam: From being deported.

Steffy: What?!

Liam: Yeah.

Steffy: Liam, I don't get this.

Liam: She was visited by an immigration officer. Apparently some of her paperwork wasn't in order.

Steffy: So?

Liam: So they were gonna deport her.

Steffy: So?!

Liam: So I'm not just gonna let that happen, Steffy!

Steffy: Oh, come on! She goes back to Australia, she fills out a new work visa, and then she'll be back in a few months! You don't have to marry her!

Liam: You think it's that easy if you get kicked out the country?! No, they told her she might not ever get allowed back in!

Steffy: Maybe -- maybe that was worth looking into before you married her! I mean, doesn't she have dual citizenship? I thought her father's American.

Liam: Yeah, he -- he is, but apparently he forgot to fill out some of the paperwork. I don't know, okay? I don't know. All I know is I care about her and she needed my help. [Sighs]

Steffy: You just started dating her.

Liam: Yeah, it's crazy, I know.

Steffy: Crazy? Oh, my God. Crazy?! This is insane!

Liam: She'd lose her job, Steffy, the life that she's created here.

Steffy: [Laughs]

Liam: She was scared. She was scared, and she needed my help.

Steffy: Whose idea was this, huh? Oh, let me guess. Ivy's? Of course. Yeah! Of course!

Liam: Listen, I made it very clear that this is just to keep her in the country, okay? We're not really married.

Steffy: You're not really married? It doesn't matter? Liam, you are married to her!

Liam: I'm married on paper! It's just on paper! Everything else is the same! Come on! Yeah, I'm dating her. I care for her. I'm -- I'm liking getting to know her better. But I'm not ready for marriage, okay? Especially not with you back in the picture.

Steffy: Oh!

Liam: Whoa.

Steffy: I'm...not...doing this again! I won't be your other option! Waiting for you to figure out who you want!

Liam: That's not what I'm asking.

Steffy: Isn't it?! Isn't it?!

Liam: I said some words and I signed a piece of paper! I don't consider myself married!

Steffy: But you are! It's more than a piece of paper, Liam! You are married to Ivy! Do you have any idea what you've gotten yourself into?

Ivy: Look, I know that Liam does care for me, but he also cares for Steffy. He admitted his feelings for her.

Quinn: Nostalgia.

Ivy: No. No, it's a lot more than that.

[Knock on door]

Agent McCaffrey: Miss Forrester? Oh, excuse me. Are you in a meeting?

Ivy: Uh, Agent McCaffrey, it's fine. Come in. Oh, and it's, uh, it's Mrs. Spencer now, actually.

Agent McCaffrey: Yeah, I heard. That's why I'm here. I was forwarded a copy of your marriage license. What, uh, what are you trying to pull?

Bill: You can run, but you can't hide.

Wyatt: Oh! Between you and Ridge, I've had enough "you're not gonna have a chance with Steffy" advice, okay?

Bill: Ridge said that?

Wyatt: Basically, yeah.

Bill: I hate when we agree.

Wyatt: Yeah. Maybe I'll prove you both wrong.

Bill: Oh, boy, you really like Steffy, don't you?

Wyatt: I don't like -- okay. I haven't exactly hidden my interest in her.

Bill: Wyatt... Steffy is, uh, smoking hot. She's -- she's incredible. And any man would be interested in her. Would want to steal a kiss here and there if the opportunity presented itself.

Wyatt: Yeah.

Bill: I get it. I don't blame you for that. But if you're developing actual feelings...

Wyatt: Dad, relax! I'm not developing feelings. I'm not -- I'm not scribbling hearts around her name, okay? Yes, she's hot. And kissing her was a lot of fun, and I'd like to continue doing that. But it gets kind of annoying when everyone keeps telling you that it's not gonna happen.

Bill: It's not gonna happen.

Wyatt: Ugh! I -- well, no offense to you or Ridge. I'm gonna wait to hear that from the lady herself.

Steffy: I can't believe you've done this.

Liam: It doesn't have to change anything, Steffy. It really doesn't.

Steffy: You're not that naive.

Liam: [Sighs] God, I didn't know this would hurt you.

Steffy: Me? Or you? What did you expect?

Liam: I don't know! I don't know what I expected! But I'll tell you one thing! I still see it -- a future with us, the -- the chance that we might have together!

Steffy: When? When? How?

Liam: Like I said, it's a marriage on paper. That's it.

Steffy: You love her. You told me that, and now you've just proven it by marrying her!

Liam: I care about her, yeah! Yeah, I do!

Steffy: Okay, okay! So wait. Oh, my God. I'm supposed to just wait until she becomes a citizen and then you'll walk away. Then you'll give us a chance. How long do you have to be married to her to stop her from being deported?

Liam: I don't know.

Steffy: Oh, you don't know. You don't know. Months, years, six years -- and you don't know? You're telling me that you are fine with seeing your wife and seeing me at the same time for God knows how long?

Liam: That is not what I said, Steffy!

Steffy: Years, Liam! Years of people checking up on you, confirming if your marriage is legit!

Liam: Well, yeah! Yeah! I'm gonna do what I can to help Ivy, but that doesn't mean that -- that... damn it! Damn it! This sucks! I know it's not what you wanted. I know it's not. [Sighs]

Steffy: You know what sucks? Sharing you! And I won't do it again.

Liam: Stef-- come on.

Steffy: No, I'm done. I'm done!

Liam: Can you -- can you try to understand why I had to do this?

Steffy: No.

Liam: She needed me.

Steffy: I needed you. I needed you! I needed you to go to Paris and drag me home! I needed you to forgive me for getting on that motorcycle!

Liam: I did.

Steffy: No! I needed to feel it, Liam! [Voice breaking] God! I needed to be in your arms and mourn with you! I needed you to fight for me! I needed you. I needed you to need me. You're always so quick to be Hope's hero. Now Ivy's. What is it about me that makes you think that I don't need your help? Yeah, okay, I'm tough, but sometimes I'm pretending. Do you even -- do you even think about us? Do you even -- do you even think about our relationship?

Liam: Yes.

Steffy: Our future?

Liam: Yes.

Steffy: I thought I was gonna marry you. But I can't do that. I can't. I can't do this. I'm done.

Liam: Steffy, come on. Come on.

Steffy: Stop it! Forget it! Congratulations. I think you just found the one.

Bill: So, what exactly did Ridge tell you?

Wyatt: Same thing you are. Steffy wants Liam, and she always will.

Bill: So, there you go. You heard it straight from her daddy's mouth.

Wyatt: [Sighs] And... Steffy's over at Liam's right now trying to tell him how she doesn't believe that he's truly over her.

Bill: He isn't. And what are you doing, Wyatt? I mean, falling again for a girl that has feelings for your brother?

Wyatt: I'm not doing that again!

Bill: It's exactly what you're doing. How many people have to tell you that Steffy wants to be with Liam?

Wyatt: Today, maybe. But tomorrow? Who knows?

Bill: [Sighs]

Wyatt: Look, when Steffy gets tired of Liam doing the same thing over and over again -- and she will. When she does, she'll be open to finding somebody different. Maybe somebody like me.

Ivy: I'm not trying to pull anything. I got married last night.

Agent McCaffrey: To a U.S. Citizen?

Quinn: To Liam Spencer of Spencer Publications. I'm sure you've heard of it.

Agent McCaffrey: Are you and Mr. Spencer living together?

Ivy: Yeah, of course.

Agent McCaffrey: I'll need to confirm that.

Ivy: Okay, fine. Not a problem.

Agent McCaffrey: It's highly suspect happening so quickly.

Ivy: Well, Liam and I have been together for many months now.

Agent McCaffrey: Oh, is this something you've, uh, been planning for a while? I would think you'd have mentioned it last time we spoke.

Ivy: Why does any of this matter? You have the official paperwork. It's legitimate.

Agent McCaffrey: Maybe.

Ivy: What do you mean, maybe?

Agent McCaffrey: Well, I need to talk to your husband. I'll be interviewing you both, investigating whether or not this union is legitimate.

Ivy: Okay. Investigate whatever you like. Do your interviews. But I'm married, and as of last night, I'm as American as you are.

Liam: Stop making this into more than it is.

Steffy: A marriage?

Liam: Of convenience.

Steffy: Oh, bull. Stop faking your feelings for her.

Liam: Well, I'm sure not faking them for you, am I?!

Steffy: Oh, my God, I hate this! I hate that you do this! You have some kind of power over me, making me feel this way!

Liam: I can't turn my back on her, Steffy. I can't do that.

Steffy: Oh, 'cause God forbid she goes through the proper channels and earns her citizenship?

Liam: She has a career here.

Steffy: She's a Forrester. She'll be okay.

Liam: Oh, fine. Fine. You don't understand. Fine.

Steffy: Oh, I do, better than you! You're a rescuer. You can't resist a woman in need.

Liam: That's not true.

Steffy: You couldn't save your mother, so you'll save all the others.

Liam: Whoa. Where did that come from?

Steffy: No, just go. Go. Be Ivy's hero. I'm out.

Liam: Don't -- don't say that.

Steffy: No, I'm out. You didn't think this through, did you? I used to adore that about you, that you could just leap into action and save the day. But there are consequences, prices to pay. And that price is me. You're married now, so this is done!

Liam: No, it's not! You want me to fight for you?! You want me to fight for you?! This is me fighting for you! I love you!

Steffy: I know! But it's not enough! It is never enough!

Liam: Look at me. Look into my eyes. Look at me! I want you! I want to get back together! I want to be with you!

Steffy: Stop saying stuff you don't mean.

Liam: I mean it. I sure as Hell mean it! And I'll even make Ivy understand that.

Steffy: No. I don't want you anymore.

Liam: Don't say that.

Steffy: No. I'm not putting myself through this.

Liam: Then I'll leave her.

Steffy: No, you won't.

Liam: I'll leave her. Yes.

Steffy: You won't.

Liam: I-I-I shouldn't have gotten married.

Steffy: But you are, Liam! You are married to her!

Liam: I know! I know! And it was stupid, and it was a mistake, and I want to take it back! Steffy, let me take it back!

Steffy: But how are you gonna do that? How are you gonna do that? You're gonna tell Ivy "just go back to Australia and just leave your friends and your job"? You would never do that!

Liam: I don't know! I will figure something out! Listen to me! Listen to me. This is what it took, okay? This is what it took -- seeing you, seeing how much I hurt you, how much I disappointed you. That's what it took for me to understand that I want you. And we can have it. We can have everything that we wanted -- children, a family. We can have it all back because I am not losing you again! I want you. You. And only you.
