Ridge: Rick, call the paramedics!
Eric: Can you tell how she is?
Ridge: Katie! She has a pulse.
Brooke: Oh, thank God.
Ridge: How the hell could this happen?
Liam: Hey. You good?
Bill: Oh, yeah. I'm terrific. You?
Liam: [Sighs] Fantastic.
Bill: It's a great day for both of us, isn't it?
Liam: Yeah, I'm here for you, man. I know what you're going through.
Bill: Appreciate the support, my son.
Liam: You know, you're right about Ridge. He doesn't -- he doesn't belong with Brooke.
Bill: So, you are agreeing with me about Brooke?
Liam: I have my reasons, yeah.
Bill: You're not gonna hound me about going back to Katie?
Liam: I don't think it would do any good.
Bill: It would not. Because she is not right for me.
Liam: Yeah. Yeah. You're not right for her, so... that's good. I'm gonna -- I'm gonna go for a run. Maybe...save some of that for tomorrow?
Bill: [Mockingly] Maybe save some of that --
Liam: Give me a break. I'm just trying to help.
Quinn: Alone with your best friend?
Bill: I...am not so drunk that I know you are not Liam. I do know that you are definitely not my best friend.
Quinn: [Chuckles] No. But that bottle is, especially today.
Bill: Okay, Girl. Shake your tail. Let's see what kind of little victory dance you have in you.
Quinn: As much as I despise you, Bill... I am not here to gloat.
Bill: Gloat. I deserve it.
Quinn: Sleeping with your wife's sister -- what did you expect?
Bill: Well, I expected that Brooke wanted this as much as I did.
Quinn: Of course, because it's always all about you.
Bill: Why am I even talking to you? You would never understand.
Quinn: Why? Because I've never felt the kind of love you feel for Brooke?
Bill: Why are you here?
Quinn: Because as much as you deserve to wallow in this self-made agony, I thought I would be nice and keep you company. Hmm. So, are you going to reach out to Katie now that Brooke is a lost cause?
Bill: No, I'm not.
Quinn: Oh. No, of course not. Because you have a son with her, and those are the women that you see as disposable. Although, if you think about it, really think about it, Brooke is a lot like that, too, huh? I mean, Hope, Rick, R.J., all with different fathers. You know, this is -- this is really sad, because you two are the perfect match.
Bill: Are you finished?
Quinn: Oh, Bill, I have been finished with you for such a long time. Now so is Katie and Brooke, and you -- you're all alone. Just like me. Alone.
Brooke: The paramedics will be here soon.
Eric: Look, maybe we should just drive her ourselves.
Katie: I-I'm okay.
Ridge: Sit back. You passed out.
Katie: Really, I-I'm fine.
Ridge: Don't get up.
Brooke: Honey, you scared us. Do you even remember what was happening?
Katie: Yes. You were getting married. Listen, I really didn't get to eat this morning. It's probably just low blood sugar. You don't have to be here. I'm fine.
EMT: Are you diabetic?
EMT: Has this happened before?
Katie: Not in the way that you mean.
EMT: Did you feel any pain?
Katie: No. Not that way.
Ridge: She has a heart condition.
Katie: I'm fine, really.
Donna: Katie, no. You passed out.
Katie: I was --
Donna: This could be really serious.
Katie: I was just emotional because of the wedding.
EMT: Wouldn't you feel better if we took you to the hospital?
Katie: No. I don't want to go to the hospital. It's -- it's not necessary.
Eric: Look, I think it's necessary, Katie. It is.
Rick: Yes, I agree.
Brooke: Yeah, you do need to get to the hospital. The wedding can wait.
Ridge: Just have a doctor look at you.
Brooke: Ridge and I will go with you.
Katie: I just need some rest, really.
Eric: Brooke's right. You need to check this out, Katie.
Brooke: Don't worry. We'll have the wedding another time.
Ridge: Let's do this.
Katie: I-I don't need a gurney, really. I can walk.
Brooke: Honey, please. Ridge, I'm gonna go up and change.
Quinn: Mind if I join you?
Bill: Open bar.
Quinn: Mm. To that old familiar feeling.
Bill: Which is?
Quinn: The sting of being dumped by your one and only. I know the feeling, and now so do you. [Chuckles] Mmm. So... tell me. What have you learned from this disaster?
Bill: It was not a disaster.
Quinn: No. I beg to differ. You, uh, broke up your marriage, you lost control of your company, and your mistress dumped you.
Bill: The mistake I made was trusting Katie that she would not take me to the cleaners, steal my company, restrict the time I have with my son.
Quinn: Hmm. The mistake she made was trusting you not to sleep with her sister.
Bill: She wanted me to sleep with her sister. She plans this trip to Aspen, the hot-air balloon ride. Are you kidding me?
Quinn: Shall I play devil's advocate?
Bill: No, you shall not.
Quinn: You don't like to take responsibility for your actions.
Bill: Oh, I take...plenty of responsibility.
Quinn: [Chuckles] Really? No. You didn't with me. Oh, but wait. No. It was my fault that I got pregnant. My bad.
Bill: Could have been avoided.
Quinn: You really don't want to go there with me now, do you?
Bill: [Muttering] You really don't want to go there with -- [Normal voice] What -- what do you want? What, another apology?
Quinn: Oh, no! No! I don't want another one of your apologies, because, to be honest with you, your apologies -- they suck.
Bill: Well, you really just have quite a way with words, don't you?
Quinn: Yeah. But I did use to make you laugh, didn't I?
Bill: I don't know. Maybe you did. A little bit.
Quinn: Whoa. You okay?
Bill: I am not okay. Not today.
[Elevator bell dings]
Paging: Dr. Davis, telephone, please. Dr. Davis, telephone, please.
Brooke: Dr. Patrick, thank you for meeting us so soon.
Dr. Patrick: Not a problem. I've already secured a room. Any change?
Nurse: Vitals are the same.
Dr. Patrick: We'll handle it from here. Thanks.
Nurse: Take care.
Katie: Thank you.
Dr. Patrick: How are you feeling, Katie?
Katie: I feel fine, Dr. Patrick. Thank you.
Dr. Patrick: What happened?
Katie: I -- uh, I fainted.
Dr. Patrick: Any chest pain?
Dr. Patrick: Trouble breathing?
Katie: No. I-I really don't think there's anything to worry about.
Dr. Patrick: Katie, you have a medical history. I need to run some tests.
Katie: Some tests?
Dr. Patrick: Well, blood work, an EKG, for starters.
Katie: Well, that could take hours.
Ridge: It doesn't matter if it takes days. We're gonna make sure you're okay and nothing happens to you.
Dr. Patrick: Let's get started.
Ridge: Hi. How's the patient?
Dr. Patrick: So far, everything looks good.
Brooke: [Sighs] Wonderful.
Katie: So, I can go home?
Ridge: Katie, relax.
Brooke: Just take it easy.
Dr. Patrick: The blood work is important. I need to check your cardiac-troponin level to make sure you haven't had a mild heart attack.
Katie: I-I didn't have any chest pains.
Dr. Patrick: Heart attacks aren't always proceeded by chest pains. I also need to run some scans to check for transplant rejection.
Katie: [Sighs] But that could take all night.
Brooke: Honey, we have to do this to find out why you fainted.
Katie: I know why I fainted.
Brooke: No, you don't. But we are going to find out.
Quinn: Mm. It will get better, Bill.
Bill: That is what they say, isn't it? Who -- and who is "They"?
Quinn: [Chuckles] Because it's true. You've lost Brooke, but you haven't lost everything.
Bill: Oh, my money means nothing to me.
Quinn: Ha! Liar.
Bill: You're right.
Quinn: [Chuckles] Money is not the only measure of success.
Bill: When you don't have any.
Quinn: For me, it's my son and my friends, the few that I have.
Bill: Oh, I'm with you on that one. I could count my friends on one hand.
Quinn: Some of us do care about you, Bill. God only knows why. Whoa, whoa. Easy, Cowboy.
Bill: Yes. This has been a rough [Whinnies] Night on the range.
Quinn: [Laughs] Yeah, I-I think you better lie down.
Bill: That's not a bad idea.
Quinn: Yeah. Where? Come on.
Quinn: Come on.
Bill: I'm fine.
Quinn: I don't think you're fine.
Bill: I'm good. You ready?
Quinn: Come on. Good ahead.
Bill: Here we go.
Quinn: I'm gonna be behind you. Don't fall on me, please. All right. Come on. Up you go.
Bill: Here we go. I'm good.
Quinn: Up you go.
Dr. Patrick: I'll arrange for those other tests right away.
Katie: Thank you, Doctor.
Brooke: Doctor, could I talk to you for a minute?
Dr. Patrick: Sure.
Brooke: I'll be back.
Ridge: You had us pretty scared.
Katie: Sorry, I... I thought I'd be able to pull it off. I knew it was a big mistake, standing up for Brooke, but I thought I'd be able to get through it somehow.
Ridge: Well, at least you tried. You're as beautiful as ever. Gritty as hell.
Ridge: Perfect package. Right now, what you've got to do is rest. Listen to your doctor.
Katie: There's nothing wrong with me, Ridge.
Ridge: Let's hope so.
Katie: I didn't pass out at the wedding. I had to do something.
Hope: [Sighs] I wonder what happened.
Wyatt: Katie got a little excited. Like I am right now. Hmm?
Quinn: Come on. Let's get you undressed and get you into bed. Sit down.
Bill: Sounds like a plan.
Quinn: Yeah, yeah. Well, I'm sure you'd like to do the same thing to me.
Bill: Sounds like an even better plan.
Quinn: [Chuckles] I'm sure you would enjoy that.
Bill: Not as much as you would.
Quinn: You sexist pig.
Bill: I thought you hated me.
Quinn: Almost as much as you hate me, I'm sure.
Quinn: Oh! Naughty boy.
Bill: You crazy bitch.
[Clattering, glass breaking]
Liam: [Retches] [Retches]
Donna: I just -- I hope she's okay.
Eric: Katie's been through worse.
Donna: Yeah. Yeah. A-and she seemed okay when she -- she left here, didn't she?
Eric: She's gonna be all right. Donna, I'll take you to the hospital right away if you want.
Donna: Oh, no. No. We'll just wait here until, um -- until Brooke calls.
Eric: I'm here for you. All right. I get it. I get it.
Brooke: So, the blood test -- that will tell us if she had a heart attack?
Dr. Patrick: Yes, but I doubt this is heart-related.
Brooke: So, what could have caused this, Dr. Patrick?
Ridge: You didn't pass out?
Katie: I just couldn't handle it. I've been so messed up for so long. Bill hurt me really bad. And I've been so angry. I feel like I'm just surviving my life. I wake up in the morning, I get Will ready for the rest of the day, I go to work, I just try not to feel anything, because it hurts too much. You've listened to me, and I know that seems like a small thing, but it's not. You've shown me kindness and understanding, and I-I have sent you mixed signals. I know it, but I just -- when Carter started reading that poem -- our poem -- I just thought sometimes you have to listen to fate. I mean, what made him say those words?
Ridge: I don't know. I was thinking the same thing.
Katie: Then I saw the way you were looking at me when he was reciting it, and I just -- I just knew I couldn't do it. I knew I had two choices, and they were terrible choices, because...either one made me a liar. Either I stand there and I let my sister marry someone that I know she shouldn't...or I stop the wedding. I chose the latter. And I don't regret it. I can't. Everything says that this isn't me, but I haven't felt like myself in a long time. You make me feel like me. Without you, I feel...
Ridge: You're not lost.
