Bill: Katie, forgive me. Don't ask me to be without my family. I can't do it. I made a mistake. Look, granted, it was a big mistake, and you have every right to be upset. But I was upset, too, when you took your ring off and stormed out.
Katie: Forcing you to sleep with my sister, because there was no other option. [Chuckles] I'm sorry, but I think there's something fundamentally wrong with our relationship.
Bill: And I'll do whatever it takes to prove that isn't true.
Katie: I don't know how much longer I have on this earth, whether it's one year or 50, but I don't want to waste a single second being your doormat. I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore.
Brooke: Thank you, both. I-I know it's hard to understand, but I really appreciate your forgiveness. I think I've lost Katie. I'm not sure she'll... I just -- if you had given up on me, too, I don't know --
Rick: Never, Mom. Never.
Hope: We may not understand why you do...certain things, but we'll be here to support you, just like you've always done for us. Logans stick together.
Liam: [Sighs] Thank you.
Carter: You're welcome. I've been meaning to get in touch with you, Liam.
Carter: I was really sorry to hear about your loss.
Liam: Thank you.
Carter: I've officiated quite a few ceremonies now, and one or two, I could tell weren't lasting past the honeymoon, but...you and Steffy, man -- it really surprises me.
Liam: Me, too. Something just doesn't add up.
Liam: I mean, it was so sudden, Carter. I'm telling you, it was like a switch went off.
Carter: You know, a miscarriage can mess with a woman.
Liam: No, I understand that. I do. But this...was so much deeper. I mean, she wanted to try again, like, right away, and then, all of a sudden, she's packing her bags, she's moving to Paris. I don't -- I don't get it. And I think there's something more going on.
Hope: You've always been there for us. It goes both ways.
Brooke: I appreciate it.
Hope: Well, I can't stay mad at you. I mean, who am I gonna turn to when I'm in a crisis?
Brooke: Yeah, I'm usually the one responsible...
Brooke: ...Trying to push you and Liam together. I'm gonna stay out of it.
Hope: Oh, thank you. [Chuckles] [Sighs]
Rick: Hey. Who was that guy I saw you talking to at the Fourth of July party? You know, the, uh -- the not-Liam guy?
Hope: Ah. [Chuckles] My mystery man?
Brooke: The naked guy?
Rick: What? Who?
Hope: [Chuckling] Oh, Rick. You have so much to catch up on.
Bill: You don't want this, Katie.
Katie: I don't have a choice.
Bill: And Will?
Katie: I don't want to keep you from your son. You'll have scheduled visitation.
Bill: Katie, we owe it to our son to do everything we can to work through this.
Katie: My son is going to know that your behavior is not okay. You can't treat your wife like this. You did what you wanted to do. You wanted Brooke, so you took her. You didn't have any respect for me. You didn't have any respect for our marriage. And you're right, Bill. Actions do have consequences. And our son is gonna see that. And someday, when he marries, he'll know what to do differently, and he will be a better man than you.
Bill: Teaching him to run is not the answer. Showing him that couples work through these kinds of --
Katie: Teach him whatever you want every other weekend. That will be your time with him. I want a divorce.
Liam: I mean, you should have seen it, Carter. All she kept saying was, "you should be with Hope."
Carter: Do you want that?
Carter: Okay, okay. So, Steffy's gone, right? Telling you to be with Hope. Now, that's something you want, but you're stopping yourself.
Liam: Yeah, it's crazy, isn't it? I just -- I need more answers, you know? Maybe if -- maybe if I can understand why she's walking away from this marriage, then I'll be able to walk away from it, too.
Rick: So, this Wyatt guy wakes you up with a kiss, you drop your phone in the woods, and now he's suddenly snuggling up with you and watching fireworks on the Fourth of July?
Hope: Um, well, not exactly.
Brooke: I don't understand. What happened with Liam?
Hope: I want a life with Liam. I do, but...I mean, not if he's going to be constantly thinking about Steffy, wondering what went wrong and why. I mean, I think I deserve better than that. And I-I'm not gonna settle for what Liam currently has to offer.
Rick: Good for you.
Brooke: I'm proud of you. I just hope he'll come through and prove to you that he can be what you need.
Hope: I hope so, too. But he has things that he needs to work through, and I'm not waiting indefinitely. I have options.
Bill: You expect me to just accept this?
Katie: I don't want this, Bill. I've never wanted this. I thought that I would be the one person in my family that would make marriage work. That's why I waited so long -- because I had to be sure that I could trust a man. Because I saw what it did to my mother when my father left. And I swore -- I swore that I would never turn out like her. I would find a man who was worthy of me or not get married at all.
Bill: So, instead, you've turned into your father -- running, afraid to commit.
Katie: You know, your logic is amazing. You cheat on me with my sister, and somehow it's my fault. [Scoffs] I have always been committed to you, Bill.
Bill: Then why did you push me into her arms?
Katie: Your actions are your actions. You're responsible for them, not me.
Bill: And you are responsible for yours, Katie. I did sleep with Brooke. I made that choice... because of the extraordinary circumstances that you, Katie -- that you created.
Katie: I was sick!
Bill: And I understood that. I forgave you. I took care of our son while you couldn't with Brooke by my side. I didn't succumb to your plan -- your plan. I stayed true to you.
Katie: Until you just couldn't resist.
Bill: You walked out on me, yet again. I mean, do you honestly believe that I would have slept with Brooke if you hadn't done that? You want to walk out of our marriage because of your own insecurities about yourself and about our marriage, then fine. Then you do that. But don't make this about me, like I am some horrible guy running around on his wife, because it never would have happened. I wouldn't have been with Brooke if you hadn't have said that you were done with me.
Katie: Well, I am now, so...
Bill: Katie, stop it. You don't have to do this.
Katie: How long did it take, huh? How long? W-was I even out of the house before you had her clothes off? Do you have any idea what that does to me?
Bill: I put up with a lot in our marriage -- the countless times you walked out on me, abandoning our son. And when you asked for forgiveness, I gave it to you. And now it's my turn, and I'm asking, and what do I get from you? Nothing. What I get from you is "I want a divorce."
Katie: I don't think I'm the only one around here with selective amnesia. I've put up with an awful lot, too, Bill. I've forgiven an awful lot. But not this. Not this. [Sniffles] Not my sister. Not -- not a pregnancy, a baby. I... it's too much. It's too much. I canít.
Bill: But you want to. I can tell.
Bill: You don't want a divorce. You won't give up on us.
Brooke: Heading to the office?
Rick: Yeah. I've got some things to take care of. Are you okay?
Brooke: No. But I will be, thanks to both of you.
Rick: Maybe you should go running in the woods. I hear there's naked guys handing out kisses, making troubles go away.
Hope: Ha ha ha. Oh, I totally forgot to tell you guys. Wyatt has the same sword necklace that Liam has. I guess I attract a certain kind of guy.
Hope: I mean, it's not a Spencer sword, obviously, but, I don't know, I guess maybe Bill's a trendsetter?
Rick: Forget it. The guy sounds like a loser. Bye.
Brooke: Bye, honey. Thanks, again. That is kind of weird. I mean, Bill is so proud of his necklace. He'd be shocked to find out that there's a knock-off out there.
[Cell phone rings]
Bill: Meet me at my office. I need to see you.
Brooke: I'll be right there. I've got to go, honey.
Brooke: I'm glad to see that you're standing up for yourself. And even though I want you to be with Liam, what's most important is that you do what's right for you.
Hope: Thank you.
Brooke: I'm sorry.
Hope: No, Mom. It's -- it's okay, really. I forgive you.
Hope: Okay. Love you.
Brooke: Love you, sweetie. Oh.
Liam: Hi. Um...may I...?
Hope: Yeah, you can come in. It's fine.
Katie: Thank you, Eila. Um...uh, you got it done really fast.
Eila: Well, you said, "Move fast."
Eila: Look it over. Let me know if I missed anything. It's just as we discussed -- you'll keep the house, have custody of your son. He may fight you on visitation only every other weekend. The monthly child support is more than fair. I have to imagine his lawyer will advise him of that.
Bill: And when you asked for forgiveness, I gave it to you.
Eila: A guy like Bill Spencer? I wouldn't be surprised if he has a few bank accounts you're unaware of.
Katie: It's, uh -- it's not about the money.
Eila: I know. Just want to make sure you're getting what you're entitled to.
Bill: You don't want a divorce. You won't give up on us.
Eila: Does everything look in order? Just need your signature. Katie?
Bill: Thanks for coming.
Brooke: Tell me you have good news.
Bill: Katie wants a divorce.
Bill: I've got to convince her this isn't the end of our marriage. She's talking custody and visitation -- all the things I swore that I... it's not happening. I'm a husband, I'm a father, and I won't lose that. I canít.
Brooke: I know.
Liam: [Sighs] So...the other night ended a little weird.
Hope: Did it?
Liam: [Chuckles] I want to be a man you deserve.
Hope: I'm not stopping you.
Liam: I know. I was communicating with Steffy when I could have been with you. I get why that's not okay with you, and I don't blame you for wanting more. But I don't know what's going on with my marriage right now, and until I get answers to my questions, I can't move on.
Hope: I hope you don't think that I'm just being selfish.
Liam: No. Are you kidding? You're standing up for yourself. How can I not respect that?
Hope: Okay. Liam, I want this to work. I want us to start over, but I-I know that we can't just go back to the beginning. [Sighs] You're still wearing your ring. I know you're legally tied to her.
Liam: Hey. I love you, you know? I hope you feel that.
Hope: Liam, I want to be able to put my arms around you and lie in your bed and be your wife. I'm ready. But you're not. So, what do we do?
Bill: I know Katieís hurting. But I won't let her give up on us. And I know you won't either, Brooke. You've always been there for me.
Bill: Yeah? [Sighs] Send her in. Attorney.
Eila: Bill Spencer?
Bill: I was when I woke up this morning.
Eila: Nice to meet you. My name's Eila --
Bill: Yeah, whatever. You're the attorney representing my wife. How much am I paying you per hour?
Eila: You can afford it. I just came from seeing Katie. She's made a decision.
Bill: Katie's done it. She's filed for divorce.
