Bill: So, you want to come?
Katie: To Forrester?
Bill: Yeah, come on. Caroline would be so happy to see you up and around.
Katie: Oh, I don't think so. I've got things to take care of here. But tell her that we want to have dinner very soon.
Bill: We do?
Katie: Yes. With her and her moms.
Bill: All right. Well, uh...
Bill: I'll see if that comes up -- how about that?
Bill: All right? Uh, do not push it.
Katie: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Bill: D-don't "Yeah, yeah" me. Do not push it.
[Knock on door]
Liam: Knock, knock.
Bill: Oh, ha! The newlyweds have returned!
Katie: Welcome home.
Liam: Katie, you look great.
Katie: Oh, thank you.
Steffy: Yeah, glad you're out of the hospital.
Katie: Thanks. How was the honeymoon?
Steffy: It was...great.
Liam: It was great.
Liam: I was ready to move to Aspen full time.
Bill: I want to hear about all this, but I am, uh, late for a meeting at Forrester, so you'll fill me in later?
Liam: Be here.
Bill: Okay. Good. Uh, been eating a lot? You taking care of my grandchild in there?
Steffy: Yes. Yes.
Steffy: Growing strong.
Bill: Growing strong. Of course. A Spencer in there. Growing strong!
Liam: Oh! Hey! Ugh!
Liam: Dad! Speaking of "Strong."
Taylor: So, is there anything else Caroline wanted us to help out with?
Donna: Well, I just wanted to see how the setup was going.
Taylor: Oh, um, well, I'll track Thomas down and ask him. I've got to see if I can find him. He's moving into the beach house since I don't need it anymore. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to...
Donna: Twist the knife?
Taylor: That wasn't my intent.
Donna: Okay. So, do you think, um, you could come down to the showroom and help us set everything up later?
Taylor: Sure, I'll -- I'll ask Steffy if she can help.
Hope: They're back from their honeymoon?
Taylor: They got back this morning, yes.
Brooke: I'm sure she'll be too tired from traveling to come to the fundraiser.
Donna: Especially being pregnant.
Taylor: No, she said she wants to come in. Uh, they -- they are stopping by Spencer first. They want to check on Bill and Katie and make sure her recovery is going along just fine.
Donna: Right, right, because, uh, she was still in the hospital when they left.
Taylor: Right, and she's doing much better now. Thank God. So, let's all do our part to make sure that doesn't change.
Hope: Um, I'm sorry. Uh, I just need to, um -- we're -- we're finished, right?
Brooke: I think so. See you in the showroom later?
Hope: Uh, probably. Yeah. Probably.
Brooke: Honey, if you'd rather take some time for yourself.
Hope: I'm okay.
Brooke: Katie's better. So, you can stop with the insinuations.
Taylor: Katie is my patient, and I will continue to look out for her best interests, and if that means reminding you to stay away from her husband --
Brooke: Oh, for heaven's sakes!
Taylor: All you have to do is look at everything that's gone wrong, and you would know that if you don't, things will only get worse.
Brooke: [Sighs] I don't need to listen to this. Donna, I'll see you in a while. And, Taylor, why don't you go to your office for a change?
Donna: Will you stop harassing her? Katie, too. Just please -- just leave my sisters alone!
Katie: So... Aspen must have been fun.
Steffy: Oh, yeah. Yeah.
Liam: Yeah, we, uh -- we did miss having you at the wedding, though.
Katie: Oh, well, I'm glad you didn't wait. It's way too important. I mean, it's no secret that I had hoped that things would work out differently, but there's a baby now, and it's good that you're creating a family. Feels different holding onto him, doesn't it? Now that you're married. It's like you know he's gonna be there for life. [Chuckles] And you're right to feel that way because Spencer men are as loyal as they come.
Bill: Hi. I thought Caroline might be in here.
Brooke: She's probably in the showroom.
Brooke: Don't go.
Woman: On her desk?
Hope: Uh, yeah, please.
Woman: Steffy's back today?
Hope: Yep, that's the rumor.
Woman: Let me know if you need anything else.
Hope: Okay. Thank you. [Sighs]
[Door opens, closes]
[Cell phone vibrating]
Hope: Oh. A group text. How lovely.
Liam: So, you really have to go?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah. I need to check in, sign off on a few things.
Steffy: But I'll be right back.
Steffy: Glad you're back on your feet, Katie.
Katie: Thanks. Steffy, wait. [Sighs] [Sighs] I need to say something to both of you. I want the best for you and your child and your family, and I am hurting for my niece, and a part of me is glad that you went ahead with the wedding while I was still in the hospital and I couldn't go.
Liam: Katie, you know, you --
Katie: No, no, no, no. I-I want to say this. We're family now, and I wish you well... your marriage, your baby. I want nothing but good things for all three of you.
Steffy: Thank you.
Taylor: I am looking out for Katie. I am surprised you don't appreciate that.
Donna: She doesn't need to be looked after, okay? Look. [Sighs] If Katie chooses to use you as her therapist, fine, but keep it professional. Keep it in the sessions. Separate it from how you interact with Brooke.
Taylor: You aren't concerned what this will do to Katie if Brooke can't help herself? She isn't wired like most people. She isn't able to respect boundaries. She doesn't mean to, and she finds herself upset and -- and surprised when she's in these situations, but that's what happens when you live your life following your heart!
Donna: No. No. You spoke to Brooke. I spoke to Brooke. It...it didn't happen. I can understand from your history with Brooke why you'd think the worst. There was an attraction because Katie pushed it, but Bill and Brooke -- they didn't. They didn't cross the line. I don't care how attracted they were to one another -- maybe...maybe even still are. Knowing what it would do to Katie, neither one of them would ever pursue it.
Brooke: I don't mean to keep you. It's just... I was wondering how things are with Katie.
Bill: Great. She actually came into the office today.
Brooke: Wonderful. But I meant, "How are things going with you two?"
Bill: Better and better.
Brooke: So, you're here to see Caroline? I didn't realize you were helping out with the fundraiser.
Bill: Uh, yeah, she -- she asked me to be part of it, but, well, I came by to tell her that I-I can't. I'm spending the day with my wife.
Brooke: Good. That's...yeah. You should. [Chuckles]
Bill: What is it, Brooke?
Brooke: I just... [Sighs] ...Can't stop...
Brooke: ...Thinking about... us...and what we shared.
Taylor: You want to believe in Brooke. I know that. I understand. She's your sister. You've always looked up to her, but that makes it harder for you to see what is really going on. I can step back, and I can look at what's happening.
Donna: "Imagine," you mean.
Taylor: I didn't imagine them kissing, and I didn't imagine Katie's heart trouble... or the car accident. Yes, I know all about how Bill spent the night. And this is how it starts...
Taylor: ...Donna. This is exactly how it always starts with Brooke -- easily explained-away behavior. "Of course, he drank too much, so he had to stay over," and these little excuses add up, and they get bigger and bigger until she's unable to stop herself from crossing a line she shouldn't.
Donna: No. Why are you doing this? Why are trashing Brooke?
Taylor: I am not trashing her. I'm reminding you how disaster seems to follow her wherever she goes! I would like for just once to stop her from going too far. Worry about Katie.
Liam: I really appreciate you saying that to Steffy 'cause I know accepting our marriage can't be easy.
Katie: I meant it.
Katie: I mean, you could have made it work, being a parent with Steffy and being in a relationship with Hope, but you chose not to do that, and it's your decision, and I respect that. Even though I know you'll always love Hope.
Hope: Hi. I heard you were back.
Steffy: Yeah, I, uh -- I just got in. What, are you taking over my office?
Hope: No, no. I just, uh, dropped off some Hope for the Future stuff, thought you might want to look at it.
Hope: How's the baby?
Hope: And Aspen?
Steffy: Uh, yeah, it was...it was really nice.
Hope: Yeah, it looked like it. I-I saw some photos.
Steffy: You did?
Hope: Good old internet. [Chuckles nervously] Liam, uh, posted some.
Steffy: Yeah. Right. Uh... [Sighs] I'm sorry. I mean it. I know how difficult this is, and I'm really sorry for what you're going through.
Brooke: I've got to stop remembering... fantasizing.
Bill: I know.
Brooke: You think about it?
Bill: I do.
Brooke: Being with you...
Bill: We can't go there again, Brooke.
Brooke: I know. Never. How do I get you out of my mind?
Hope: Well, I'll get out of your way. I'm sure you have a lot of work to do. [Sighs]
Steffy: Look, I-I know things are gonna be awkward at first, but it doesn't have to be forever. You know, I want us to be able to work together. We are the future of this company and the family.
Hope: We are? You're including me in that?
Steffy: Why wouldn't I? We need to just find a way to get along. I'm not delusional. I know we're not gonna take some crazy trip to Vegas, but we can do better than this. I don't want to settle for us kind of sort of tolerating each other at business events, family gatherings. We both know how this was gonna end. Liam was gonna be with one of us, and he was gonna start a family. And I know how that feels. And I know this is painful for you because I've been there. So, I am offering my hand in friendship.
Steffy: Why not? We don't have to be like our mothers.
Hope: Yeah, Steffy, I-I don't think that's gonna happen. I don't blame this child. This baby's innocent, but I'm not sure that you are. You're right. Liam was going to end up with one of us, that's for sure, but it was supposed to be me. The life that you're living right now was mine. You took it from me. So, um... I don't really think that you deserve my forgiveness.
Katie: I'm sorry. I...I don't want you to feel uncomfortable.
Katie: I mean, you're married to Steffy, and you have a baby on the way. Your feelings for Hope don't really matter anymore.
Liam: No, they do. They do. I mean, I -- look, I'm always gon-- whatever. Hope knows. And there's nothing I can do about that now, and I'm happy where I am. I mean, I'm really looking forward to everything this marriage has to offer. You know, being a father, being a husband. And honestly, looking back's not gonna help a thing.
Katie: Yeah, no one knows that better than I do. I've spent way too much time lately thinking about what could have been and thinking about the time I have left, and maybe Bill's better off without me. You just have to live your life with Steffy and believe in what you have. That's what being with Bill has taught me -- you know, trust and family and being grateful. Having that kind of mind-set makes all the difference in a good marriage.
Donna: [Clears throat] Hi.
Donna: Didn't mean to interrupt.
Brooke: Oh, no. You're not. [Chuckling] Actually, we were just talking about Katie.
Bill: She's doing a lot better.
Bill: Well, I have to go find Caroline... if you'll excuse me.
Donna: [Sighs] It's kind of crazy -- earlier with Taylor. [Chuckles]
Brooke: I've -- yeah. It's... [Chuckles] I don't even know how to respond to her craziness sometimes. You know, all of the things that she says and her accusations.
Donna: I defended you when you left.
Brooke: Thank you.
Donna: I told her it was... [Chuckles] ...Ridiculous.
Brooke: [Chuckles] Completely.
Donna: I mean, you would never do that to your own sister.
Donna: You love Katie, her son. You respect that marriage.
Brooke: Of course.
Donna: You'd never betray her. You couldn't. And if you did... one look at you -- I'd know. [Softly] Brooke? You didn't.
