Brooke: [Sighs] I couldn't sleep all night.
Bill: Yeah, I just got back from the hospital myself... to check on Will, take a quick shower.
Brooke: Where is Will?
Bill: Out with the baby nurse.
Brooke: I'm really worried about Katie.
Bill: She's gonna start to show improvement today.
Brooke: Well, what if she doesn't?
Bill: She will. I know she will.
Brooke: Maybe she doesn't want to recover. Maybe her heart failed because we broke it.
Dr. Meade: So, no change overnight?
Nurse: Not a sound.
Dr. Meade: Any movement?
Dr. Meade: Katie? Katie, can you hear me? She has to come out of this.
Nurse: We ran a stim test at 3:00. No response.
Dr. Meade: Tell you what. Run an EKG, draw some blood. This patient has to show us something...soon.
Taylor: You left so early this morning.
Eric: Mm-hmm. Had a conference call... to Paris.
Taylor: How did that go?
Eric: It was not worth leaving you alone in that bed.
Taylor: [Chuckles] I, um...I called the hospital.
Eric: [Sighs] How's Katie doing?
Taylor: No change.
Eric: Oh. You spoke to Bill?
Taylor: No, he and Brooke weren't there. I talked to the nurse.
Eric: Mm-hmm. You still have your suspicions about Bill and Brooke?
Taylor: Stronger than ever. There's an attraction, Eric, and I have a sense when things like this are not right.
Eric: You're good at that, aren't you?
[Knock on door]
Eric: [Groans] Is there no privacy in this building?
Steffy: Uh, that's why we have locks on the door.
Liam: Which yours was not.
Steffy: You know, we can -- we can leave.
Eric: And -- and alert the whole building that...
Steffy: We -- we won't tell. We'll just go back to my office and lock that door.
Liam: So, any word on Katie?
Taylor: I called. No change.
Liam: God, my dad must be going nuts.
Eric: Well, I think that, uh, the best we can do is pray for a full and complete recovery.
Steffy: I'm worried about Bill.
Steffy: God forbid something happens to Katie.
Eric: I don't think Katie's going to leave us yet.
Steffy: Look, um... this may sound completely inappropriate, but, uh...
Taylor: What, Honey?
Steffy: This might have an impact on our wedding plans.
Eric: I suggest we just forge ahead and plan on Katie having a full and complete recovery. Can you do that?
Steffy: I can try.
Eric: Good. On with the wedding.
Bill: Katie stopped taking her medication. That's why her heart failed.
Brooke: We don't know that.
Bill: It's the doctor's opinion.
Brooke: The doctor doesn't know what happened. He doesn't know that Katie came over to my place and saw us together and ended your marriage. The only people who know that are you and me and Donna and Katie.
Bill: The last thing I wanted was for Katie to walk out that door. But she was determined to end it, Brooke.
Katie: How about you stop dodging my questions? You don't have to answer. It's written all over you. Take him, Brooke. I mean it.
Brooke: Stop saying that, Katie. This is not what you want.
Katie: It doesn't matter. None of it matters. The only thing I want right now...is a divorce.
[Back to present]
Brooke: She was angry... way too angry to make a decision like that.
Bill: And we tried to convince her of that over and over. But she wanted out, Brooke. And there was nothing more we could have done.
Brooke: We took her at her word. Should we have?
Liam: Huh. His phone is turned off. He must be -- he must be at the hospital. I hope -- I hope Brooke's with him.
Liam: Support. He needs all of it he can get.
Taylor: [Scoffs] Your father has plenty of support.
Liam: I know. It's -- it's kind of selfish, but I just -- I really want Katie to get better soon. I mean, Steffy's so stoked about this wedding.
Taylor: Yes, she is. What are you two over there caucusing about?
Steffy: Oh, nothing.
Taylor: Uh, that means it's definitely something.
Steffy: Well, you're just gonna have to wait until the wedding day.
Taylor: Oh, oh, it's the dress? Can I peek?
Steffy: Absolutely not.
Eric: No. Suffice it to say, it's unlike anything I've ever designed before.
Taylor: As the mother of the bride, is it going to be something I need to worry about?
Eric: You're gonna love it.
Steffy: I love you for doing this. A wedding at your home -- it's gonna be fabulous.
Eric: It's not my home. It's our home. And you're gonna be the most beautiful bride that was ever married there. That is, until your mother takes her vows.
Liam: Yeah, now all we need is to get Katie out of that hospital. I want my dad at my wedding, and I want her by his side.
Bill: Katie's gonna pull through, and when she does, we'll be there for her.
Brooke: If she wants us.
Bill: She won't want me. She made that clear. But she's not gonna turn you away, Brooke. You're her sister. She's adored you her whole life.
Brooke: She thinks I took you from her.
Bill: Well, that is simply not the case. Katie and I had problems that had nothing to do with you.
Brooke: I know. I know. And I kept trying to get her to ease up on you.
Bill: Right. But she wouldn't. And she finally realized that I couldn't make her happy. That's why she told us to be together, no matter what I said about our family or our son.
Brooke: But does she really mean it? I mean, does she really want us to have a life together?
Bill: Brooke, Katie's a fighter. If she wanted me, she wouldn't have let me go. But she walked out knowing how I feel about that. And I believe she meant it.
Brooke: Why? I know that she loves you.
Bill: She loves an idea of me. She doesn't love me, the man I am.
Brooke: How could she not?
Bill: Because she doesn't see me the way you do. But I do think she wants what's best for me. And in her heart, she believes that's you. And, Brooke, she's right.
Taylor: Well, I'm starting to feel like the odd man out. Everybody has a job. Eric's designing the wedding dress. You two have catering under control.
Steffy: There is one job you can do.
Taylor: Oh, fold napkins?
Liam: No, no napkins. Shirt sleeves.
Steffy: It's a little more important than that.
Taylor: I know. Flowers.
Taylor: Mental-health adviser?
Steffy: Matron of honor.
Taylor: You want me to stand up for you?
Steffy: Well, I could get somebody else if you're busy.
Taylor: No, Honey.
Steffy: Who else would I want?
Taylor: I don't know. It's such a hipster wedding. I thought maybe you might want to ask your dog walker or something.
Steffy: No. I want my closest friend.
Taylor: Oh! Honey.
Steffy: You've been with me through the entire ride. Why shouldn't you stand up with me at the altar?
Taylor: So there's going to be an altar? [Chuckles]
Steffy: You can call it that. So, what do you say?
Taylor: It's going to be the happiest day of my life.
Steffy: Of both of our lives.
Eric: All right. Any other loose ends?
Steffy: Only my -- my gratitude to the both of you.
Eric: Well, that goes both ways. You brought such a spark to these tired, old eyes. You really have.
Steffy: And I can see a spark in Mom's eyes. I haven't seen her like this in years. Thank you.
Eric: My pleasure. Well, you know, as far as I can see, there's only one more thing. It's a small thing. The date. The actual date.
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah. Sooner than you think.
Taylor: What? Is there something else we don't know about? Some other surprise?
Liam: No, it's just as soon as Katie gets out of the hospital and is back with my dad going strong again.
Steffy: Let's hope it won't be long.
Nurse: Any change, Doctor?
Dr. Meade: No. Still no response. This isn't good.
Nurse: Is it possible she's had a stroke?
Dr. Meade: Not after yesterday's C.T. scan.
Nurse: Do you want me to order another?
Dr. Meade: [Sighs] Maybe later today. What did this to her?
Bill: Nothing has changed. Not between us.
Brooke: Everything has changed. My sister is in the hospital. She's unconscious. She could be dying.
Bill: Katie is not going to die.
Brooke: Oh, Bill.
Bill: Brooke, we are not to blame for this. Katie was angry, but she knew what she was doing.
Brooke: It's not like she walked in on us having sex.
Bill: She overreacted. And we tried to talk her down. But she wouldn't hear it. She meant it when she took off her wedding ring. And I meant it, Brooke. I meant the things I said to you. You're like me. You're what a man needs, Brooke. And what I've been missing.
Brooke: I really didn't think I'd feel like this ever again. With Ridge gone, I just thought I'd focus on work and the kids and... I didn't think I'd ever...be loved like this.
Bill: It's just the beginning.
Brooke: We made love. And it just seemed so right. Katie didn't want you, but I did. I hadn't loved somebody like that in a long time. But did she mean it? Did she really mean she wanted us to be together, or did she just say that out of anger?
Bill: We tried to convince her.
Brooke: And she just kept insisting.
Bill: What more could we have done? I'm not going to apologize for what happened. We wouldn't even be having this conversation if Katie weren't sick.
Brooke: But she is sick, and it could be because of us.
Bill: The doctors don't think so.
Brooke: Taylor does!
Bill: I don't give a damn what Taylor thinks. She's always looking for any excuse to go off on you. She wants to destroy what we found in each other. And we can't let her do that. I refuse to feel guilty about what happened.
Brooke: Well, I do. I feel guilty, and I feel responsible. [Sighs] I just... [Sighs] I just want my sister back. Let's go. We need to get to the hospital.
Eric: Matron of honor. That's...pretty emotional stuff.
Taylor: [Sighs] It's more than that. It's you.
Eric: [Chuckling] No, no. I don't want to -- I don't want any credit for any tears.
Taylor: No, you refuse to take credit for anything, but you bring so much to our lives.
Eric: Just a fraction of what you bring to mine.
Taylor: I love you, Eric Forrester.
Steffy: So, what do you think? It's a good idea?
Liam: Yeah, I think we should go there after your doctor's appointment, you know? Stop by the beach, get some lunch.
Steffy: Sounds good. But first... I've been wanting to do that all morning.
Liam: Yeah, well, you shouldn't hold that stuff in. It's -- it's bad for the baby. [Chuckles]
Steffy: Who would have thought? Not me.
Steffy: This silly wedding. I just -- I never expected to be so excited.
Liam: Oh, yeah, 'cause you're so above that.
Steffy: Okay, I have been to a lot of weddings, not to mention I had my own. It just feels different this time, you know?
Liam: Yeah, well, maybe it's because there's three of us this time.
Steffy: Should we put that on the invitation? "Liam, Steffy, and their baby request the honor of your presence."
Liam: Oh, my God. Your mom would love that.
Steffy: Your dad wouldn't care.
Liam: He's wanted you to be a part of the family for a long time.
Steffy: Unlike his wife.
Liam: She'll come around.
Steffy: I know she will. I want what's best for her. And honestly, I think she's good for your dad.
Liam: Yeah, she is. He'd be a mess without her.
Steffy: She's gonna have a full recovery. And one day very soon, they'll be standing next to us... on the day I become your wife.
Steffy: Wife. It's just -- it's so crazy. It's such a trip to me.
Liam: Well, it's a trip I'm anxious to take.
Dr. Meade: This one and this one. Mr. Spencer.
Bill: How is she?
Dr. Meade: The same.
Bill: No change?
Dr. Meade: No, and that concerns me.
Brooke: [Sighs] How long can she stay like this?
Dr. Meade: We need some movement.
Dr. Meade: Or she will start to deteriorate. Atrophy, her heart muscle.
Brooke: [Voice breaking] Isn't there something you can do?
Dr. Meade: We can discuss some options if she doesn't come to in the next couple of hours.
Bill: What kind of options?
Dr. Meade: We need a breakthrough. Soon. I'll give you some time with her.
Brooke: It's me. Please just wake up. Just open your eyes. Sweetie.
Brooke: I'm not gonna let her die.
Bill: No one's talking about dying.
Brooke: You heard the doctor.
Bill: And they're doing everything they can.
Brooke: Are they? Are they really?
Bill: She will come around.
Brooke: Bill, the doctor didn't even want to say this, but I-I knew what he was thinking. They're gonna open her up on the operating table, and she's... she's gonna die.
Bill: No. No. No. She's not gonna die, Brooke. She's not gonna die. She's gonna come through this.
Brooke: Oh, my God. Wait, Bill.
Brooke: Her hand, it's -- it's moving. There it goes again. See?
Bill: She is moving.
Brooke: Katie. Katie, can you hear me? It's Brooke. Please just open your eyes.
Bill: Katie, we're here. Katie?
Brooke: Oh, my God. There it goes again. [Voice breaking] Sweetie, we love you. Bill's here. I'm here. We just want you to wake up.
Bill: What is it? What are you trying to say?
Katie: [Groaning] Ring.
Bill: What is it?
Katie: [Groaning] Ring.
Bill: What is she saying?
Brooke: "Ring." She's saying "Ring." [Voice breaking] She wants you to put her wedding ring back on her finger.
