Brooke: [Sighs] Taylor's not gonna let go. She won't be satisfied --

Bill: I'll deal with Taylor if it comes to that. Right now, I... Katie's got to wake up.

Brooke: They're doing the best that they can.

Bill: Oh, I am so tired of hearing that, Brooke.

Brooke: I know. We're all on edge.

Bill: It's more than that. We could be the reason that Katie's in there fighting for her life.

Brooke: But you heard what the doctor said.

Bill: He doesn't know what we know.

Taylor: What would that be? Katie is still my patient. Is there something you're not telling her doctors? Either of you? Is there?

Hope: Is there any change?

Dr. Meade: We're watching her very closely.

Liam: Well, Katie's a fighter. She's proven that time and again.

Dr. Meade: That's what we're hoping for. A few prayers wouldn't hurt, either.

Hope: Aunt Donna, are you okay?

Donna: Yeah, I will be. When she wakes up. And she will, right? Anytime now.

Hope: Of course she will. And her first words are gonna be, "Where's my little boy? Who's taking care of Will?"

Donna: Yeah. Katie's such a wonderful mother.

Liam: And wife. My dad's a lucky man.

Bill: Will you just back the hell off, Taylor? This is not the time or the place.

Taylor: I merely asked you a question.

Bill: Yeah, in this twisted, never-ending quest of yours to stir up something.

Taylor: Katie's my friend. I...I'm also her therapist.

Bill: Yeah, it was a huge mistake ever letting you get involved in our lives.

Taylor: You didn't let me. You asked me to help your wife.

Brooke: Okay. Yes, and we're very grateful, but now --

Taylor: Now Katie's in trouble again. And I'm worried just like you are.

Bill: This is how you show your concern?

Taylor: I have been concerned for some time now, Bill, and I think you both know why. Katie was very upset when she saw what happened in the showroom with you two.

Bill: Thanks to you rushing to tell her to get her all worked up over nothing.

Taylor: It wasn't nothing to Katie. It may also be why she forgot to take her anti-rejection medication.

Bill: All right. That's it. I'm done. You're certainly not helping.

Taylor: Bill, I'm not accusing you of anything. Why are you reacting as if I were? Both of you.

Hope: We're gonna go to the chapel.

Liam: Yeah, see if we can put in a good word for Katie with the man upstairs.

Donna: Thanks.

Hope: You want to come with us?

Donna: No. Um...I don't want to leave her.

Liam: Okay. I'll go get my dad. He's still outside, right?

Donna: With Brooke.

Liam: Yeah. [Sighs] I'm sure Brooke knows that Katie would want her to take care of my dad. Like she did before.

Hope: Yeah.

Donna: Only things are different now. It's not like before.

Bill: I'm scared as hell for Katie, and whatever led to this -- and no one knows what that is at this point, not the real doctors and not you -- all that matters for now is that Katie pulls through.

Taylor: Because you and Brooke will feel even more guilty if she doesn't?

Hope: Hey. Is everything okay?

Brooke: Yeah, everything's fine, honey.

Liam: Well, we're on our way to the chapel, so...

Brooke: Light a candle for us, okay?

Hope: Okay. I love you. Let's go.

Bill: All right. I'm going back in.

Taylor: Bill, wait. I care about Katie. I care about you. We're about to be grandparents together very soon. I don't like thinking what I am, but I know your history with Brooke, and I can see that the two of you are getting very close. And I hope, especially for Katie's sake, that it hasn't turned into something more. But I get the sinking feeling it already has.

Hope: Oh, Dr. Meade, hi. Is there any change at all?

Dr. Meade: No. Nothing yet. Hang in there, okay?

Hope: Okay. Oh, Mom and Bill must be in with Katie.

Liam: I've never seen my dad so... I-I don't know. It's -- it's almost like he's...

Hope: Feeling guilty?

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: Yeah.

Liam: Like for -- I don't know. For not being there when it happened?

Hope: Well, he's here for her now. Um, weird. I don't know. I guess --

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: They must be somewhere nearby. I don't know.

Liam: Cafeteria, maybe?

Hope: Let's check. [Sighs]

Liam: Okay.

Donna: You're gonna be okay. [Voice breaking] Do you hear me? Your son needs you. We all need you so much. [Crying] You're hus-- Bill, too. I don't know what you walked in on, Katie, but to end your marriage like that? To break up your family? Yes. Yes, what Bill did was stupid. It was stupid and reckless. He could have killed himself. He could have killed our sister. But if he hadn't spent the night there at Brooke's... she said that they slept in separate bedrooms. That -- that he was just hung over. That she was helping him when you walked in. Is that really what happened? Does it even matter? [Crying] No. All that matters is that you come back to us. Please.

[Door closes]

Taylor: I assumed Bill and Brooke would be in here with you. Do you know where they are?

Donna: I...I thought you left.

Taylor: I think Katie may need my help.

Donna: [Chuckles] You're a psychiatrist, Taylor. She's in heart failure.

Taylor: Because Katie has been dealing with some things that may have caused her to forget to take her anti-rejection medication.

Donna: What, you -- you think there's more to it?

Taylor: I heard what you said to Katie. About the only thing that mattered being that she came back to us? She's very fortunate to have a sister like you.

Donna: And Brooke, too. She loves her so, so much.

Taylor: Then why is Katie back in the hospital?

Brooke: We really should get back to Katie. What if she comes to and we're not there?

Bill: Donna's with her. She'll have us paged immediately.

Brooke: [Sighs] What if there's something we can do?

Bill: If there were, don't you think I'd be doing it, Brooke?

Brooke: [Sighs] I can't believe this is happening. I mean, I never imagined that when she left the house this morning, the way we would see her next would be like this.

Bill: We can't think about that.

Brooke: How can we not? She was so upset. And you said so yourself.

Bill: All right. Don't, don't, don't. It won't help Katie.

Brooke: Was it because of her medication, or was it because of us -- what we did?

Bill: Brooke, what you're asking -- what you're asking, there's no way of knowing. I mean, the doctors don't even have answers to those questions.

Brooke: The doctors don't know that Katie ended her marriage or why.

Bill: The marriage ended because we couldn't take the struggles any longer. And because I couldn't deny my feelings for you. Katie misread what she walked in on, but she wouldn't have been there if I hadn't been driving drunk, which Katie had warned me about for months. Am I an alcoholic? No. Just stupid. I mean, behaving like a frat boy, doing shots just to prove a point that Dollar Bill Spencer doesn't take orders from anyone.

Brooke: [Sighs] You two did things. You pushed each other too far. You said things, did things...

Bill: We hurt each other for too long, dating back to Katie's postpartum depression, even before that. But it was the depression. That's when I lost her. That's when we lost each other.

Brooke: Bill, you tried. So did Katie.

Bill: So did you. There was no bigger cheerleader for our marriage.

Brooke: I just wish my sister realized that.

Bill: She did realize it, Brooke. Until Taylor got in her head. Did she do it maliciously? I... I think she just lost all objectivity because of her history with you. It clouded her judgment with Katie.

Brooke: [Sighs] Now she's asking questions.

Bill: Yeah. The same questions we're asking ourselves -- about responsibility, why Katie's heart failed. Brooke, if we were the cause, if --

Brooke: Bill.

Bill: If I --

Brooke: Please.

Bill: That accident started a chain of events. Now, I didn't know it at the time, but my drinking, my bullheadedness...why didn't I realize where it could lead? We got to get back to Katie.

Donna: You already know why Katie's here.

Taylor: What the doctors think happened, yes. And then... [Sighs] There's the impression I got from Bill and Brooke that -- that there's more. You know, there's a bump on Bill's head. Do you know how that happened?

Donna: Did you ask him?

Taylor: He wasn't very forthcoming about --

Donna: Look, Taylor, I-I believe that you want what's best for Katie. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here. But you have to understand that this is a family matter.

Brooke: This is a very difficult time for all of us. We need to rally around my sister.

Bill: Nurse, how's she doing?

Nurse: The doctor will update you shortly.

Brooke: Can I have a moment alone with her?

Donna: I'm gonna go get some coffee. You want some?

Bill: No, thanks.

Taylor: I know this is difficult for you.

Bill: I don't think you know how difficult.

Taylor: Katie is your wife. She's the mother of the little boy you both adore.

Bill: My son will not grow up without his mom. Katie won't let that happen. She won't leave Will. Not now.

Brooke: [Crying] Katie. Are you here because of me?

Bill: What is your deal?! You work for the CIA? Why are you always creeping around? You have any other patient, anything else to do?

Taylor: I want to be available in case Katie needs me.

Bill: She's doesn't need you. She needs a miracle. You got any of those?

Taylor: Look, Katie's pulled through much worse. Don't give up on her. When she comes to, she's gonna need you more than ever. Unless something's changed.

Dr. Meade: Mr. Spencer, I have your wife's latest test results.

Bill: Great. What do you got? Don't even think about it.

[Respirator hissing]

Brooke: This can't be how it ends -- our last conversation, an argument. Katie. You have to fight. Please. Just open your eyes. I love you so much. You're my sister, my family, and I would do anything for you. Don't leave us, please. Especially when -- oh, God, I'm sorry. [Sniffles] I'm so, so sorry.

Taylor: For what? What are you sorry for, Brooke? I know you love your sister. She needs your love and support right now. But there's more to this, isn't there?

Bill: Are you kidding me? What the hell are you doing?! Get out, Taylor. You are not wanted or needed.

Taylor: I think Katie might feel differently.

Bill: My wife is no longer your concern.

Taylor: That's for Katie to decide when she wakes up. Until then, as her therapist, I have every right to know what's really going on in order to protect my patient.

Bill: You're not a real doctor. You're a shrink. You know jack about heart transplants, heart failure.

Taylor: Well, I know a lot about broken hearts. Katie is very fragile, and if you and Brooke --

Bill: Enough.

Taylor: I certainly hope nothing has happened between you and Brooke that put Katie in that hospital bed. But more and more, I'm starting to think that something definitely has. I don't what, but I will find out.
