Brooke: [Sighs]

Bill: [Sighs]

Brooke: Stallion.

Bill: You're quite a filly. Yee-haw.

Mark: All right, we're all blocked. You know your positions. I'm just gonna -- by the way, you'd better use the wide angle. [Chuckles] So, sorry about that. This is your friend?

Caroline: Uh, client.

Mark: And she wants to work here? Does [Chuckles] Does she know what kind of movies we make?

Caroline: She's ready and willing.

Mark: [Chuckles] She's gorgeous.

Caroline: Okay, well, I mean, in a homely kind of way. She's not that hot. She's good enough for this. Do you want to hire her or not?

Maya: Well, you didn't seem to be in too much trouble.

Rick: With Caroline?

Maya: Taking me to lunch? I'm sure you'll pay for it later. Cold stares, pouting.

Rick: [Chuckles]

Maya: Exaggerated sighs.

Rick: I think I can handle it.

Maya: Yeah. I'm guessing you can.

Rick: [Chuckles]

Maya: Thank you, by the way. For opening up to me about your past -- Amber.

Rick: You've been so open to me about what you've been through. And your daughter. You felt mislead about how we met, and understandably. The least that I could do is at least show you the real me... and share with you all the sordid details.

Maya: I appreciate that.

Rick: What I was trying to do, by not telling you who I was --

Maya: I get it. Let's not rehash. Live in the present. If there is one thing that losing my daughter has taught me it's that. Live in the now and stay active. That's key. Because if I dwell on the things I can't change... it's beyond tears... beyond aching. So, I just... I can't go there.

Rick: I wish I could have met her. You would have been a great mother.

Mark: Ah. I don't know.

Caroline: Why not?

Mark: Well... look, um... I could offer her $300 to do some background work.

Caroline: No.

Mark: No?

Caroline: She's starring in your next movie. So call her. And offer her $5,000.

Mark: Are you crazy? 5 grand? [Scoffs] What's she willing to do?

Caroline: Whatever you tell her to. She's an actress.

Mark: $300 is the going rate.

Caroline: She's getting $5,000, and I'm gonna give you an extra $5,000 to make sure that she gets the job.

Brooke: So happy.

Bill: Me too.

Maya: [Chuckles]

Rick: What? What? Do I got -- do I got something in my teeth?

Maya: No. No, I'm -- I'm still thinking about that night when I looked out my window, saw you shivering on the street, and I assumed you were homeless. You -- Rick Forrester.

Rick: I still can't believe I let you think that.

Maya: Maybe you ought to be the actor. Sure had me convinced. And the whole time you were just waiting for some auto service to come get the keys out of your expensive car.

Rick: I think I'll stick with fashion, hmm?

Maya: Okay. It gives you more time to spend with your girlfriend. I mean, you work in the same building. I understand...kind of.

Rick: Yeah, I know that Caroline can be kind of...

Maya: Unpleasant?

Rick: She's from New York. Comes with a lot of...

Maya: What?

Rick: [Sighs] Attitude.

Maya: Yeah. I can see that. You know, I know a lot of people from New York who -- you know what? I am not gonna say anything bad about her.

Rick: Thank you.

Maya: Would you at least let me cover the tip?

Rick: It's my treat.

Maya: Okay, but when I book my first commercial, I'm taking you out.

Rick: All right. Deal.

Maya: I've been sending my head shot all over town, so...

Rick: You know, it's funny. I hear that's what it takes. Seriously. It sounds like your big break's right around the corner.

Maya: [Chuckles]

Mark: $10,000? Are you serious?

Caroline: Do you think that I would drive all the way to the valley if I weren't? Yuck. [Sighs]

Mark: Okay, okay, okay. Yeah. I'll take your word for it. What agency are you from again?

Caroline: Doesn't matter. Just hire her.

Mark: Um...listen, she has a good look, and I'm sure she'll be fine, but can she act?

Caroline: [Flirtatiously] Oh, I didn't order a pizza. [Gasps] Oh. Oh, my. [Normal voice] Yeah, she can act.

Mark: Fine, I'll take your word for it.

Caroline: The extra $5,000 is for you to get the job done and to keep quiet about why you hired her. She's insecure. You know the type. She wants to feel like she got the job on her own. So, do we have a deal?

Mark: [Chuckles] Sure.

Caroline: Um, no. [Clears throat] So, just call her and get her on set as soon as possible.

Bill: It was Aspen.

Brooke: What was?

Bill: The first time you looked in my eyes, and I knew you understood me. The man I am. No judgments. You just understood. And you liked what you saw. Beautiful, strong woman going through one of the hardest times in your life. But you didn't hesitate to come with me, to give me the support that I needed. I'm not a man who asks for help. That's -- that's not who I am. But you give it freely. You pull up your sleeves. You opened your heart. It changes lives, Brooke. And you changed mine. Your joy. Your laughter. You embrace life. Others are just existing, but you, you're... you're like me. You're what a man needs, Brooke... and what I've been missing. Do you know how good it feels to be supported, to not constantly be hearing "No"?

Brooke: Yes.

Rick: That's cool that Dayzee's letting you work at the coffee shop.

Maya: Yeah. Yeah, she's, um -- she's great. The job and the apartment and everything is great.

Rick: But?

Maya: Hmm?

Rick: But?

Maya: Oh. Oh, nothing. No, I owe her a lot. She's just...protective of the Forrester family. Maybe she thinks I'm gonna do you guys some harm. And I'm not insulted. I'm not even surprised. Look, her background -- she's never had a family before. She doesn't want someone to mess that up.

Rick: Hmm. Well, I'm not the least bit concerned that you're gonna tarnish the fam--

[Cell phone rings]

Rick: You know what? Go ahead. Get it. Who knows? It could be your big break. Get it!

Maya: Hello?

Mark: Maya Avant?

Maya: Yes?

Mark: My name is Mark. I'm a movie producer. Um...I am sitting here looking at your head shot and your résumé and I have to tell you, I'm intrigued.

Maya: Really? Uh, y-yes, I've been sending them out.

Mark: I'm shooting something right now that you'd be perfect for. Uh, you interested in coming in? Put something on tape, see how the camera likes you?

Maya: Um...okay.

Mark: Great. This is your cell phone? I'll text you the address. Can you come in right now?

Maya: Okay. Yes. Yes. I-I will see you soon. Thank you.

Caroline: I don't care if the camera likes her or not. I am paying you to get her the job, get her on camera doing... whatever it is that you have in mind, and get me the tape pronto.

Rick: Wait. You booked a movie?

Maya: The producer wants to meet me. He seems to like me.

Rick: Well, of course he does! Who wouldn't? Do you have to go now? Well, you better get moving. [Chuckles]

Brooke: We've both been through so much. It's been difficult... with Ridge gone and Stephanie. But I don't even remember the pain. I just remember how good it felt to get through it all with you. You've been there and you've supported me and helped me, gave me strength, taught me how to fight... even when the woman that I idolized died in my arms. But you were there. You supported me. I feel so safe when you're around. I really didn't think I'd feel like this ever again. Now with Ridge gone, I just thought I'd focus on work and the kids. I didn't think I'd ever... be loved like this.

Bill: It's just the beginning.

Bill: [Sighs]

Brooke: Mm.

Bill: This is surreal. You had Ridge. I had Katie.

Brooke: Until we didn't.

Bill: They gave up on us. But when I look at you... I know that what you're feeling is unconditional.

Brooke: Yes.

Bill: Say that again.

Brooke: [Laughs] Yes.

Bill: One more time.

Brooke: [Laughs] Yes!

[Both chuckle]

[Kim Taylor's "Days like this" plays]

And days like this yeah, you look up at the sky above you and days like this you think about the ones that love you and all I want to do is live my life honestly I just want to wake up and see your face next to me every regret I have will go set free and it will be good for me it will be good for me days like this have you ever seen the sky it's such a clear blue

Caroline: Is that all right, or is it too hard or anything?

Rick: I'm not even that tense, so...

Caroline: You know, I promise that I wasn't spying on you earlier.

Rick: I didn't think that you were.

Caroline: And, to be honest, if you want to have lunch with Marlene...

Rick: Maya.

Caroline: ...I don't really have a problem with it, 'cause you're such a good guy, you know? And you just feel sorry for her. And, truthfully, the more time that you spend with her, the sooner you'll realize that she's just snowing you. You'll see.

[Knock on door]

Maya: Mark?

Mark: Yes. Maya! Oh, so glad to meet you.

Maya: You too.

Mark: Wow. You're even more impressive in person. I mean, I knew you were pretty, but you need new head shots. Show off that smile better.

Maya: Well, um, I actually have several. Maybe you saw the serious-actress one.

Mark: I got a guy. Make sure I get you his number, okay?

Maya: Okay.

Mark: You're beautiful. You're gonna fit right in.

Maya: Um...did you need me to read or a screen test?

Mark: No, no, no. I've been listening to you. You sound great. Besides, this movie is not really heavy on the dialogue.

Maya: How did you find me? I actually don't remember sending my information in to you.

Mark: Oh, it doesn't matter. You're here. I'm here. Did you, uh, pick a name yet?

Maya: Name?

Mark: Yeah, like a catchy pseudonym you can go by.

Maya: Oh. No, I'm sticking with mine. I want everyone to see my name in lights.

Mark: All right, then. Maya Avant, we're gonna make you into a star.

[Cell phone ringing]

Bill: [Grunts]

[Ringing continues]

[Cell phone rings]

[Both laugh]

Brooke: I guess I should get that.

Bill: No, let it ring.

[Ringing continues]

Brooke: Oh, my gosh. Somebody obviously wants me.

Bill: No.

Brooke: Yeah. Okay. Just --

Bill: Okay, I'll get it. Okay, fine. Here. Okay? Happy?

Brooke: Thank you. Hello? This is she.

Dr. Meade: It's Dr. Meade. I tried reaching Mr. Spencer. You need to come down to the hospital now.

Brooke: What?

Dr. Meade: It's your sister, Katie.

Brooke: What's wrong?

Dr. Meade: She's not doing well. You need to come now.

Brooke: I'll be right there.

Bill: What is it?

Brooke: It's Katie.
