Brooke: Eric? It's me, Brooke. Are you in there?
Steffy: Thank you.
Thomas: Baby's doing well? You're healthy?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I am.
Thomas: You know, for the record, Hope and I had no idea that --
Thomas: You know what? I heard. Got to wonder what Brooke was thinking, though.
Steffy: I guess it was good. It forced me to open up about the baby -- not how I wanted to do it, but now we can move forward. We'll all be better off. Even Hope.
Oliver: [Clears throat] I heard what happened. Don't ever feel like you're all alone.
Hope: How did you hear?
Hope: Oh, what, is she sending out mass e-mails now?
Oliver: Told me in confidence. She knows that I care about you, thought I could help you.
Hope: Thank you. I wish you could.
Oliver: I think I can.
Thomas: Oh. Thank you.
Thomas: Congrats. Cheers.
Thomas: Look... I know I haven't always been your biggest fan and we've had our differences.
Liam: Oh, hey. No, that's on both of us.
Thomas: With this baby and what you mean to my sister... I want to put it all behind us and welcome you to the family. I look at her face, the smile... and I know it's where you belong.
Brooke: Hi. Did I wake you?
Eric: What are you doing here?
Brooke: It's a little early to go to bed. Are you okay?
Eric: Yes, I'm fine. I'm...fine.
Brooke: Are you sure? Maybe you should see a doctor.
Eric: Brooke, it's all right. I'm fine.
Brooke: Are you alone? Is somebody in there?
Eric: Why don't you and I go downstairs?
Eric: Brooke, please.
Eric: [Scoffs] Look...
Brooke: What?! You have got to be kidding me!
Liam: Man, I'm committed to Steffy. I'm committed to being a father. And you need to know that. And this -- this puts an end to all that doubt.
Steffy: I guess I should have told you about the baby before. I just -- I had to know it was more.
Liam: It is.
[Cell phone chimes]
Liam: Sorry. More notes for tomorrow's meeting. I guess I got some reading to do.
Steffy: Go ahead. Gives Thomas and me a chance to catch up.
Liam: Okay. Thomas, I appreciate what you said. Thanks for dropping by.
Thomas: You made the right choice.
Steffy: He certainly did.
Oliver: I've got a secret for you.
Hope: A secret.
Oliver: Something I'd been wanting to tell you... or show you.
Hope: Can -- I mean, can we maybe talk about it later? It's just been a really bad day, and I kind of want to be alone.
Oliver: I understand. Just one quick story. Okay? And then I'll leave you alone... if that's what you still want.
Steffy: So, are you ready to be an uncle?
Thomas: Yeah. I just spoil the kid, right? Is there more to it?
Steffy: No. No, no, no. It's a major responsibility, Mr. V.P. You're gonna have to be a role model.
Thomas: Okay, I got it covered. Just don't ask me to babysit.
Steffy: Oh, no. Mom will be all over that.
Thomas: Oh, first grandchild. She's probably gonna move in.
Steffy: Yeah, definitely. Well... maybe not, now that she's...
Thomas: [Clears throat] Dating?
Steffy: You know?
Thomas: Do you?
Thomas: [Sighs] She just told me today.
Steffy: Hey, um... do you think it's weird? I mean, he just lost his wife.
Thomas: No, I think it's great. For both of them. Mom and... Eric Forrester. That's quite the match.
Brooke: What is this?!
Eric: Look, do you even have to ask?
Brooke: What are you thinking, Eric? What are you thinking?! Here, in Stephanie's bedroom!
Taylor: I think you better leave.
Brooke: She was your dear friend. She just died, and here you are, going after her husband. Is this how you mourn, Eric?
Eric: Don't, Brooke. Don't judge me. And don't question what I'm feeling, what I'm going through.
Brooke: She's using you.
Brooke: The good doctor, your dear friend, she is pushing herself on you.
Taylor: I would never.
Brooke: Oh, my God, Taylor, how can you do this? How can you take advantage of Eric like this? Especially so soon after Stephanie died?!
Eric: Brooke, stop! Just stop right now! Now, I feel what I feel. All right? And we're two people who are finding happiness together.
Brooke: Well, maybe you are. But she's finding power.
Taylor: Excuse me?
Brooke: All those complaints about my family taking over Forrester Creations, how the Logans rule. I guess you found a way to fix that.
Eric: You don't know what you're talking about, Brooke.
Brooke: Really? Who did you appoint vice president of Forrester Creations? Her son.
Eric: Thomas has earned that position.
Brooke: Are you sure it just wasn't these newfound feelings that you have for Taylor? You know, I'd be careful. Because pretty soon she'd want you to appoint Thomas as C.E.O. of the company. Oh, and those shares that Stephanie left for you -- she has her eyes on those, too.
Taylor: Brooke, your narcissism is clearly clouding your judgment. This is not about you or your family. And I would think after all the years that you've known me, in spite of the fighting, that you would know that I'm not like that. I've never manipulated anyone. I've never been cruel. I would never take advantage of someone who's grieving.
Eric: Look, I'm sorry, Brooke, if this doesn't fit some timetable that you've set for me. I miss Stephanie. I always will. But I'm alive. And she's the first person who would want me to move on. Taylor's helping me do that.
Hope: Oliver, I don't want you feeling pressured to try and cheer me up.
Oliver: I'm not. I'm not. I-I've been meaning to show you something for a very long time. Maybe it'll make you smile or laugh, maybe call the police.
Hope: [Clears throat] O-okay. This has to do with a story that you want to tell me?
Oliver: See, once upon a time, there was this beautiful, beautiful blond girl. I was involved with her. You'd like her -- real babe. [Chuckles] She was into me, too, at one point. Shortly after she broke up with me, I was out late one night, and I did something I thought she'd appreciate, maybe foolish. Maybe not. But I thought that it would help me get her back.
Hope: Oh, my God! Is that --?
Oliver: That is the Chinese symbol for "Hope"...
Oliver: ...Like the necklaces I got for us. Seemed like a great idea at the time.
Hope: [Chuckles] Oh, Oliver.
Oliver: I've been meaning to get it removed, maybe turn it into a smiley face or a dog.
Hope: A dog?! What?
Oliver: A bunch of dogs playing poker up my leg.
Hope: No! No, you can't! No. [Chuckles]
Oliver: I guess I could cancel that appointment to get it removed. For now. The symbol did give me hope. It did for you at one time, too. I'm just glad it made you smile.
Steffy: Honestly, I think this is wonderful for her.
Steffy: Can you think of a nicer man, someone who will appreciate her and treat her the way that she deserves?
Thomas: Well, I think it's good for him, too, being with someone like Mom. Not to replace his wife. I mean, nobody can fill those shoes. But... if anyone could...
Steffy: Exactly. And the part I can't stop thinking about... how irritated Brooke will be.
Thomas: You think?
Steffy: How many times has she attacked Mom and ruined her relationships? But in this situation, what can she do? She can just sit back and watch Mom become the Forrester matriarch.
Brooke: Look at you, standing there in your underwear how hypocritical! After everything you've accused me of all these years!
Eric: I gave her the lingerie. I asked her to put it on. Don't make these assumptions, Brooke.
Brooke: Eric, don't you see? Maybe you don't even know what you're doing, Taylor, but you're taking my place.
Taylor: Your place?
Brooke: Stephanie asked me to guide the family. Not you.
Taylor: I don't want to take anything away from you, Brooke. Not your final moments with Stephanie, not the responsibilities you think she passed on to you.
Brooke: Oh, I see. You're still upset about the relationship that we developed towards the end. So what is this? Revenge against us both?
Taylor: I have been a single mother, and I've been alone, and I have given up a lot of things for a long time now, Brooke.
Taylor: Don't try to make this into something ugly.
Brooke: Oh, God! This is -- this is classic! You're a psychiatrist! You should know better than anybody what this is all about. A grieving man asking you to wear lingerie. Poor Stephanie. Even with all of her wonderful qualities, there are certain needs that she couldn't address of Eric's. And this isn't the first time that he's turned to somebody.
Eric: All right, Brooke, that's enough. Now please just stop.
Brooke: Eric, you know it's true.
Eric: I love Taylor.
Brooke: You just lost your wife! You are grieving! And for you to turn to Taylor, of all people.
Taylor: You hate me so much, you don't want me to ever find any kind of happiness? You think you're the new Stephanie, like it's now your job to keep Eric from moving forward? Stop being selfish. This is happening, whether you like it or not.
Hope: You have had it all this time, and you never told me. Why?
Oliver: I didn't exactly want you to know. I keep making appointments to get it removed. Something always comes up. Maybe it's the universe giving me a sign. I'm not here to pressure you or to make you feel uncomfortable. Obviously you need time to process what's happened with Liam. But I'm hoping that if you know that I still -- I still care about you, I'm still here for you... that it might help.
Thomas: So you like the idea of Mom and Eric getting together because you think it'll irritate Brooke.
Steffy: No. It's an added bonus. But more than anything, I... I hate that Mom's alone. I just... I don't want to get my hopes up.
Thomas: Well, she's tried to move on. Good guys.
Steffy: Yeah, but I didn't think any of them would last. Did you? You know, with Thorne and Whip.
Thomas: Right. I see what you mean. You know, I could tell she cared about them, but there was something missing. She didn't have that fire in her eyes. She hasn't had that passion since Dad.
Thomas: Until now. Is that what you mean?
Steffy: Uh, I just... I feel like she's excited about life again.
Thomas: Well, he did call while I was with her, asked her to dinner.
Thomas: Yeah, you should have heard her voice. Its obvious how she feels.
Steffy: Well, it's about time a man gives her butterflies. So, dinner, huh?
Thomas: Yes, at his place.
Steffy: You want to go spy?
Steffy: You're no fun.
Thomas: Stef, let them be. New couple feeling things out. They deserve a quiet evening together. No interruptions.
Brooke: I don't care what spin you put on this. It's wrong. She is using you, and I am not gonna leave here until I get you to understand that. You're not gonna feel good about yourself once you realize that that's true. Oh! And look at you. Seducing Eric, taking Stephanie's place in this family.
Taylor: No, that's you. I'm aware of that now fully. Stephanie decreed it. Whatever that means to you, you go and do it. Just not here, just not with us, away from this house. You don't know anything about Eric or me. You don't know what led us into this relationship. All we know is we want... just want to be together. We're following our hearts. It's nothing that you haven't preached. So stop judging us. You're the last person who should be calling this a seduction or a power play. [Sighs] You know, this is something that is not disrespectful. There's nothing wrong with two people finding companionship.
Brooke: All of the accusations that you've said about me all of these years, you really think I'm just gonna stand here and let you get away with this -- seducing Eric, using him? Never. I will be the voice of reason, the voice of Stephanie. She wouldn't want this. You know that, Eric. So go. Go get your things, finish getting dressed, and leave with whatever bit of dignity that you might have left.
Eric: She's not the one who's leaving.
Eric: You are. Now.
Taylor: You're so used to getting your way. You've wriggled your way through this entire family, including snowing Stephanie at the very end, and it looks like you've worn out your welcome. Eric is the man of this house. This is his life. Why don't you show some respect and do what he said? Leave.
Eric: Come here.
Taylor: Thank you for standing up for me.
Eric: I'm not gonna let her talk to you like that.
Taylor: You know she won't be the only one... if... we continue.
Eric: There is no "If." Brooke seems to think that she has some kind of a mandate from Stephanie, but she's not who I want in this house with me, standing next to me by my side, in my bed. This is the beginning of our future together, Taylor. There's a new Forrester matriarch. It's you.
