Taylor: Sweetheart, I know this seems overwhelming, but it doesn't have to be.
Steffy: I'm pregnant, and the father of my child just kicked me out of our home.
Taylor: But he doesn't know! If he did --
Steffy: He would take me back in a heartbeat. He might even propose.
Taylor: Isn't that what you want?
Steffy: I won't be an obligation. If Liam wants me back, it's because he wants to spend the rest of his life with me, not because he's trying to do the right thing.
Bill: You really don't have any idea what you're doing, do you?
Liam: Oh, just because it's not what you want, I don't know what I'm doing?
Bill: Forget what I want. Is this what you want -- sending Steffy away? That feel good to you? Does it?
Bill: Liam, I'm asking you. Does this feel good to you? Because if it doesn't and you want to fix it, it's not too late.
Liam: Yeah, well, I need to be alone.
Bill: Okay, well, you kick a woman like Steffy out of your house, and that's exactly how you can end up. You don't show her the respect that she deserves --
Liam: Dad, I asked her to leave because I respect her, and Hope! I owe it to both of them to sort this thing out, and I can't be with either of them until I do.
Katie: Liam needs time to think.
Brooke: He asked Steffy to move out?
Hope: And -- and she did? She's back at her condo?
Katie: For now, at least.
Brooke: If he really wanted to be with Steffy, she would still be there.
Hope: No, no. No, no, no. Katie is right. She's right. I mean, this is a big decision, and Liam knows that whatever he decides, someone's going to get hurt. So if he needs this time and space by himself, then I think that should be given to him.
Brooke: Honey, he wanted time and space away from Steffy, not from you. You've got to get over there right now.
Katie: Liam didn't end it with Steffy.
Brooke: Not yet. But that's the direction he's heading.
Hope: [Sighs] Okay, but you were at the house. You saw him. How was he?
Katie: Well, she had just left, so...
Hope: Okay, yeah. All right. It was difficult for him.
Katie: Yeah, and I'm afraid my husband's not making it any easier.
Hope: Oh, God. Bill's over there?
Katie: Pleading Steffy's case.
Bill: How do I get it through your skull that Steffy is the best thing that ever happened to you?
Liam: That's exactly what I need to hear right now. Thanks a lot, Pop.
Bill: What did she do to disappoint you? Did she demand a ring on her finger? Did she go psycho when she found out you were seeing your ex? What did she do to let you down, Liam?
Bill: But you still sent her packing.
Liam: I asked for some space.
Bill: Amazing she didn't slap you in the face. You are a lucky man.
Liam: I know that, okay? I know that. They're both incredible women, and I can't keep doing this dance. I can't keep doing this thing where I go back and forth between both of them! This is how they grew up! I mean, this is what Ridge put both of their mothers through! I'm not doing that.
Bill: Well, you know what? You might not have a choice to make. Steffy could be at her condo right now, saying, "to hell with this guy."
Taylor: Honey, I know you really well. And I'm just starting to wonder if some of this isn't just you being stubborn, or pride.
Steffy: It's not pride. It's experience. I know that I won't be happy if I'm always wondering if Liam wants to be somewhere else.
Taylor: And you're saying that because... I didn't end up happy?
Steffy: You and dad... you tried your best. But it couldn't last.
Taylor: It doesn't mean that it has to be the same thing for you and Liam.
Steffy: I can't survive on scraps of love. Neither can Hope. And Liam understands that, and that's why he's doing this.
Taylor: No! It's because he doesn't know everything! How can he do that if he doesn't know that you are carrying his baby?
Katie: I'm sure asking Steffy to leave was hard for Liam.
Brooke: I'm sure she didn't make it easy on him.
Hope: Well, if it were me, I wouldn't have, either.
Katie: I don't think it got ugly.
Hope: But it made him think.
Katie: Which is why he needs time. And that, of course, infuriates Bill, because he thinks a Spencer should act on instinct and impulse.
Brooke: And that's exactly what Liam did. He acted on his instinct when he told Steffy to leave.
Katie: Yes, but Bill's instincts tell him that that's a mistake.
Brooke: And what do your instincts tell you? You saw Liam.
Katie: I told Bill not to interfere.
Brooke: Does he know that you came over here?
Katie: I'm sure he does. He knows I'm loyal to Hope.
Hope: Thank you. Which I appreciate. But Bill can talk up Steffy all he wants. There is nothing he can say that is going to break the connection between me and Liam.
Bill: You and Steffy have a great thing, here, Liam.
Liam: Yeah. Same as what I had with Hope.
Bill: H-a-d. "Had" -- past tense.
Liam: Yeah, only because of you and Rick. If you hadn't gone in and messed everything up, I wouldn't be in this situation right now.
Bill: Doesn't mean you would be happy.
Liam: I'm not happy now.
Bill: Because you let Hope back in. This is what she does to you, son.
Liam: No. No, this is what happens when a guy gets manipulated and lied to.
Bill: Well, Steffy didn't lie to you -- I did. You want to punish somebody, punish --
Liam: I don't want to punish anybody. That's not what this is about.
Bill: Right. It's about you having a decision to make. Only, the way I see it, you already made one. You chose Steffy. You asked her to live here with you. You were sharing a life together. I don't see how anything I did or Rick did changes that.
Liam: You don't see that? I -- I didn't have all the information I needed, Dad. Now I do. I mean, the truth matters, okay, especially in a situation like this, where the stakes are so high. It matters. It matters a lot.
Taylor: You know, Liam really can't make a very informed decision without all the facts.
Steffy: I won't use this pregnancy as a trump card. How many times did Brooke do that with dad?
Taylor: History doesn't have to repeat itself.
Steffy: I can't forget the way I grew up -- what you've been through, what Brooke did to our family. I'm sorry. But I don't want to have that life. I saw what it did to you, and I'm not gonna let that happen to me. So that means keeping this pregnancy a secret... from everyone.
Taylor: Am I the only person you've told?
Steffy: Yes. You didn't tell anyone, did you?
Taylor: I told Eric.
Taylor: I was very worried about you when you went away to Paris.
Taylor: You know, I was already dealing with so many things. I was worried about our family falling apart. And Eric was there, you know? And he's been grieving, and so have I. And he isn't going to say anything. You know he won't.
Steffy: Okay. Okay.
Taylor: And Eric has been very hurt by Stephanie, how she chose to live those last few moments of her life. But I've been able to be there for him, and we've empathized with each other, and we've been able to comfort each other, because we were honest with each other. That's how you bond with someone. You just need to sit down and tell Liam that you're carrying his baby. Just be honest with him.
Katie: Well, if I had known you were this confident, I wouldn't have rushed over here to tell you the news.
Hope: Well, I'm glad you did.
Brooke: It confirms what you feel. Liam wants you back.
Hope: Well, he's definitely considering it.
Brooke: Well, you could go over there and help.
Hope: Okay, Liam will call me when he is ready to see me.
Brooke: But his father might talk him out of it.
Hope: He can try. It's not going to work. Liam may not know what he wants yet, but he knows that he wants to do it on his own, without being pushed or pressured.
Brooke: But this decision will affect you, too.
Hope: Steffy and I both know what we want, okay? And the time that I spent away from Liam didn't change my feelings, and it's not gonna change hers.
Brooke: Not if she's anything like her mother.
Hope: Or mine.
Brooke: This is not what Taylor and I wanted for our girls.
Hope: Don't worry, Mom. It's not gonna get that far. Liam will not drag this out. He -- he won't do that to Steffy.
Katie: I hope you're right, for your sake, for Steffy's sake. But I agree with your mother. You've already been cheated out of so much time with Liam. Go to him. Don't waste another second.
Hope: [Chuckles softly]
Bill: What about the time you spent with Steffy? Doesn't that count for anything?
Liam: Of course it does. The last few months have been great.
Bill: But they don't matter. Not as much as the truth. You say you didn't have all the information. But guess what -- nobody ever does. That's why you have to trust this. You want this to be clear-cut. You send Steffy away because you think it makes it easier. You want to simplify things. But you can't, son, because it's not simple. No matter how you end it, it's not gonna be neat and clean, so get that out of your head. What you should be thinking about is Steffy... and how -- how great she is, and how good she was for you.
Liam: She is. I-I know that.
Bill: Then you need to get her back here... before it's too late, and no matter what you do, you're not gonna be able to get her back here at all. I wasn't kidding about what I said before. She's not gonna put up with this, Liam. Think about that. How does that make you feel? If the thought of losing Steffy is making you feel sick inside, then what the hell is there to decide? What the hell is there to think about? Go pick up that phone... and tell Steffy you want her to come home.
Taylor: Talk to him. You two can work through this.
Steffy: I won't corner him.
Taylor: How did you work out your relationship last time? You know how you did it? By sitting down and being honest.
Steffy: And not manipulating each other.
Taylor: Oh, my goodness. You know, sweetie, I think some of this could be hormones. I think you're just very emotional. I mean, you were asked to leave your home. I know that had to break your heart. But it doesn't mean that everything is over.
Steffy: No. It's not. I want to spend my life with -- with Liam. I want to -- I want to have his baby. I was so excited to tell him that I was pregnant. But Liam's not the problem. Hope is. She...is a part of this now.
Taylor: No, she -- no! She is not! You forget about Hope! You put her out of your mind! This is about you and Liam and your future together, honey. Your whole future, with a baby. You know, you, Thomas, and Phoebe -- you are the greatest joys in my life. I wouldn't trade you for one minute. You're one of my greatest blessings. And this baby is going to be one for you.
Brooke: Honey, you don't have to be here, you know.
Hope: Okay, do you want me to go get some food or something?
Brooke: If you don't want to go over there, at least give him a call.
Hope: [Sighs] He has not called me.
Brooke: Mm. He might still be with Bill.
Hope: And if he is, I don't want to interrupt them.
Brooke: Are you worried about what he might say?
Brooke: Okay. Well, I don't understand.
Hope: Mom, this wasn't an easy decision for him to make. It was painful. I don't want to just barge in on him.
Brooke: You don't have to just sit back and wait for something to happen. Okay, maybe he didn't make a decision yet. But Steffy is not living there anymore. There is nothing standing between you and the life that you want to have with Liam. You can have that back. You just have to believe it.
Liam: Steffy. Steffy! Okay. Okay. All right. Okay. One, two. [Exhaling rhythmically] Yes! Yes. Okay.
Bill: If the thought of losing her makes you sick inside, then what the hell do you have to think about? Go pick up that phone and tell Steffy to come home.
[Cell phone rings]
Steffy: You miss me already?
Liam: Yeah, I do. Listen, um... I probably shouldn't be calling you, but, um, you left your work bag here, and I just -- I, uh -- I want to see if you're okay.
Steffy: It could be worse. I didn't have to move in back with my mom. That would be depressing.
Liam: Is she there with you now?
Steffy: Not anymore. Are you alone?
Liam: That's kind of the point.
Steffy: It's the only way to make the right decision. You got to tune everything out.
Liam: Hey, I don't want to lose you, Steffy. And I really hated asking you to leave. I just -- I love you, and I hope you don't forget that.
Steffy: You don't forget that.
Liam: [Chuckles] And this doesn't mean it's the end for us, you know? I just -- I'm trying to do right by everybody. I'm trying to make the right decision, and there's so much to consider. And I hope you understand.
Steffy: I do. I love you, too. I hope you make the right decision. Don't let us down.
