Brooke: [Sighs] Okay. Okay.

[Knock on door]

Brooke: Oh, good! You're here. [Sighs]

Bill: Wow. Appreciate you doing this.

Brooke: Well, you two deserve to have a romantic evening together.

Katie: [Laughs]

Brooke: The food is in the warming grill and just stay as long as you'd like.

Katie: Okay.

Brooke: And I will check with the baby nurse, so don't worry about Will, okay?

Katie: Thank you.

Brooke: I want you two just focusing on each other.

Katie: [Chuckles]

[Door closes]

[Horn honking]

Steffy: [Sighs] "Small amount. One or two cups." Beautiful.

Hope: Another slice?

Liam: Are you kidding me? I'm stuffed.

Hope: [Laughs]

Liam: You're right about that new place, though. So good.

Hope: Um, am I ever wrong? When it comes to pizza.

Liam: Uh-huh.

Hope: [Laughs] Uh-huh.

Taylor: Sorry to just drop in.

Brooke: Is everything okay?

Taylor: Where's Bill? I saw his car out front.

Brooke: He's out back in the cabin. I arranged a romantic dinner for him... and his wife.

Taylor: Oh. Well, that's good. Although it doesn't make me any less concerned about your intentions.

[Indistinct conversations]

Dayzee: [Laughs] [Laughing] Stop!

Marcus: Whoo! [Laughs] Mmm!

Leilani: You bringing in that sweet girl of yours in any time soon?

Marcus: Yes, Leilani. Of course I am.

Leilani: You better.

Marcus: Okay.

Dayzee: [Laughs] In a real way.

Marcus: I better!

[Both laugh]

Dayzee: How did the drop-off go?

Marcus: [Sighs] You know, I always get a little sad, but...

Dayzee: [Scoffs] You do? I'm a wreck whenever it's Amber's time with Rosie. What?

Marcus: No, it's just... the way you treat my daughter.

Dayzee: What did you expect me to be? The evil-stepmother type?

Marcus: Yeah.

Dayzee: [Gasps]

Marcus: No, I'm just --

Dayzee: Watch it!

Marcus: I'm just kidding.

Dayzee: I know.

Marcus: Absolutely not.

Katie: This seems kind of silly, doesn't it?

Bill: No.

Katie: We could do this at home.

Bill: With Will? It's not the same. Come on. We're in this cozy little cabin, a fireplace. No diapers, no feeding, no... no changings.

Katie: [Laughs]

Bill: Your sister went to a lot of trouble, Katie. Let's put everything aside and enjoy it.

Katie: I'd like that.

Brooke: Taylor, give it up. Is that why you came here? To harass me?

Taylor: Well, I'm trying to help you see that this is part of your problem. You become romantically interested in someone and then you start ingratiating yourself into their lives, you become emotionally invested, and then the next thing you know, you -- you comfort with a kiss and one thing leads to another.

Brooke: Oh, I see. [Laughing] Oh, that's very funny. Thank you. Thank you for the warning.

Taylor: I have another. The real reason I came. And this one's for your daughter.

Hope: Hmm. A quiet evening in front of the fire. No stress. Just us. See, this is exactly the way it should have been all along. Too many people interfered. We lost so much time. I really want to make up for that.

Liam: I, um... spoke to Steffy. And she knows how much time we've been spending with each other.

Hope: Was she mad?

Liam: No. She thinks we deserve this time together.

Tony: Watch. See how she does that?

Marcus: Makes everybody feel welcome, whatever they can pay.

Tony: Special lady.

Marcus: Yeah. Yeah, she is.

Dayzee: What is this look you're giving me?

Marcus: I'm just appreciating you, Zee. The way you help people. Being there, doing the things that you do best.

Dayzee: Well, thanks to Stephanie. [Sighs] I used to do the best I could helping people on Skid Row, but I just never imagined having... resources like this.

Marcus: Come here.

Dayzee: [Chuckles]

Marcus: You do know that you're keeping Stephanie's legacy alive.

Bill: [Sighs] [Sighs]

Katie: Oh, you are going to love this.

Bill: Mmm. Smells good.

Katie: [Chuckles]

Bill: Any reception out there?

Katie: What?

Bill: You weren't trying to call the nurse?

Katie: Okay, I -- I thought about it. I almost did, but I realized that Will is in more-than-capable hands. And Brooke was right. This is nice. Having a lovely dinner with my handsome husband. It's good to remember how this feels.

Bill: All right, let's dig in. You okay?

Katie: Yeah. Are you kidding me?

Bill: What?

Katie: You've been drinking.

Bill: [Sighs]

Taylor: So [Sighs] Steffy is out of town and Hope thinks this is the time to make a move on Liam. Things are very different between Liam and Steffy now.

Brooke: Different for Liam and Hope, too. They're now aware of what really happened. They never would have broken up if they were told the truth.

Taylor: But they did. And everything has changed. Steffy and Liam... [Sighs] ...Are very close. They're closer than they ever have been.

Brooke: I don't see a ring on Steffy's finger.

Taylor: Well, I can guarantee you it's just a matter of time before that happens. They've been living together because they put their relationship back together. Look... if I were you, I would advise your daughter to respect their relationship. I am not going to allow Hope to destroy my daughter's happiness.

Hope: So, even Steffy understands what was taken from us.

Liam: Well, she gets that we need to figure out how to move forward, but... that doesn't mean she's giving up.

Hope: Mm. Well, you're not married to her. There is nothing tying you to her. There's no pressure. No need to rush. We have time.

Bill: I had a drink -- one. A small one. Scotch, and really good stuff, too.

Katie: How can you -- you say that like it doesn't matter?

Bill: Does it?

Katie: You know how I feel.

Bill: Katie, I had one little drink before dinner, like people do. I am with my wife, celebrating.

Katie: So, you're saying you need to have a drink in order to spend the evening with me?

Bill: Oh, come on. Don't be ridiculous.

Katie: Why can't you do this one thing for me? [Sighs]

Bill: Where are you going?

Katie: This matters to me, Bill, but obviously it doesn't matter to you, so I'm gonna go. I'm sorry.

Bill: Oh, Katie, come on. Katie, don't go.

[Door closes]

Liam: I don't...know where we're going with this.

Hope: I'm not asking you to make any promises. Just be here with me.

[Computer beeping]

Steffy: Mom.

Taylor: Hey. I saw you’re online. Sorry. It's a little early.

Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I couldn't sleep.

Taylor: How are you feeling?

Steffy: I'm fine.

Taylor: Have you told your father?

Steffy: No.

Taylor: Liam?

Steffy: Not yet. I talked to him earlier on, but, uh... I can't.

Taylor: Well, you have to tell him.

Steffy: Why? So he can do the right thing? I don't want him staying with me out of guilt, Mom.

Taylor: Sweetheart, I don't know where this is coming from. I mean, it could be hormones. I don't know. But if you're worried about Hope, I think you should just come home.

Steffy: He needs to spend time with her. I told him that.

Taylor: Sweetheart, you're having his baby.

Steffy: Look, Mom. [Sighs] Do you ever wonder... if dad would have gone to Brooke a lot sooner if it weren't for us kids? I'm s-- I'm sorry.

Taylor: Well, no. It's -- it's a valid question. I know your father loved me very much.

Steffy: I know. But he got sucked in by a Logan. I'm not letting that happen to me. I'm demanding more from my life. I want him to get Hope out of his system, and he will. While I'm here. If not... well, I'm not letting him stay with me out of duty.

Taylor: He won't do that. Listen, you have to come home and just tell him.

Steffy: I'm not ready.

Taylor: Sweetheart, it isn't good for you. You can't keep this bottled up inside.

Steffy: I got to go, Mom. [Sighs]

Taylor: Steffy?

[Beep]

Taylor: Steffy!

Steffy: [Sighs]

Brooke: Bill? I saw Katie get in the car. Is there something wrong with Will?

Bill: No.

Brooke: [Sighs] What happened?

Bill: She left.

Maya: Where's my baby?

Taylor: [Sighs] [Sighs]

Steffy: [Sighs]

Brooke: What came first? You drinking or Katie leaving?

Bill: I had one drink before dinner -- a small one.

Brooke: Bill, you knew this was important to her.

Bill: And it's important to me to have a little freedom in my life, Brooke. I mean, this is ridiculous. It's in Katie's mind. It's in my sister's mind. What am I supposed to do? Enter a 12-step program for a problem I don't have? I mean, it's insane.

Brooke: Nobody is asking you to do that. All Katie is saying is just to please lay off the liquor for a while. Now, if you don't have a problem, that should be easy, right?

Bill: Oh, so now you're gonna jump on their bandwagon?

Brooke: You love Katie. You value her opinion. Why not on this?

Bill: It is less about that and more about me being told how I'm going to behave. I mean, what's next? "Bill, you drive too fast. Get rid of the Ferrari. No more motorcycle racing. No more heli-skiing. No more mixed martial arts. It's all too dangerous." [Laughs] I like to have a drink. I handle it responsibly. Have you ever heard me slur my words? Unable to walk in a straight line? Any of those things happen, we have something to talk about. Otherwise, it's completely unnecessary. There's no reason for it.

Brooke: Katie is your reason. She just wants you to be the best person you can be -- the best dad.

Bill: Yeah, I -- [Sighs] I understand that, Brooke. I mean, I know that marriage changes things. Fatherhood. You make compromises. You do the give-and-take dance. But, I mean, when is enough enough? I mean, how far does this go?

Brooke: Don't turn this into something it's not. And [Sighs] You may not think there's a problem, but Katie does say that you're very remote and distant and sometimes harsh when you drink.

Bill: I am not remote or distant. Uh, yeah. Well, you know what? I'm harsh when I don't drink.

Brooke: She wants Will to grow up in the best home possible.

Bill: The best home possible, huh? That coming from the woman that walked out on us? I didn't mean that. I don't -- I don't blame her. I know it was the depression.

Brooke: Maybe she's doing this to make up for that.

Bill: By making demands on me? Pressuring me? How about relaxing more instead? Appreciating the life we have, the enjoyment of being a family? I mean, the way it was when we were --
