Steffy: That wasn't so bad, was it?
Hope: Mnh-mnh. See, we can all get along...
Hope: Even in confined spaces.
Liam: Well, it's a good thing it was a short trip. Wouldn't want to push our luck with the cross-country flight.
Steffy: Aspen... it's the most beautiful place in the world.
Justin: Yes, I got it. Thank you. The Forrester jet is about to land.
(Cell phone rings)
Oliver S: Hello. Mr. Spencer.
Bill: Forrester jet's about to land. Everything set on your end?
Oliver S: Exactly how you wanted.
Bill: Well, that's what I like to hear. Now let's set this baby in motion, see what Hope's made of.
Brooke: Well, Hope's on her way to Aspen. (Sighs)
Rick: You couldn't talk her out of it?
Brooke: No. Hope is determined. She's stubborn, even.
Rick: (Sighs) I wonder where she gets that.
Brooke: Ahh, very funny. It's not a great quality.
Rick: Yeah, well, I don't like it. I get why Hope doesn't want Liam running around unattached with Steffy there, but you know how this fashion week is. The press comes in droves, even if there isn't a juicy scandal to grab onto.
Brooke: Well, she says she's gonna keep a low profile.
Rick: Yeah, how long do you think that's gonna last with Liam there and the excitement only a few minutes away?
Brooke: I'm sure she's not gonna put herself in the way of rabid reporters.
Rick: True. Maybe I'm not giving my sister enough credit. She's pretty strong. Or not. Mom, is there something you need to tell me?
Brooke: Well, um, Liam knows, so I guess it's okay. Your sister's been under a lot of stress lately as you know, so she's been seeing a psychiatrist and taking antianxiety medication.
Rick: I can't believe that this is the first time I'm hearing about it.
Brooke: Hope didn't want anyone to know.
Rick: Yeah, but going to a psychiatrist, that's--that's nothing to be ashamed of.
Brooke: Well, she wasn't ready to talk about it, not to anybody, and not to Liam. So I had to respect that. But now Liam knows everything. It's just, I think Hope needs a good support system around her.
Rick: Well, if she needs anything, I'm there.
Brooke: Well, you should tell her that.
Rick: I will.
Steffy: Ramona. (Chuckles)
Ramona: Hi. (Sighs) Oh, it is so good to see you.
Steffy: It's good to be here. How is everything?
Ramona: (Scoffs) Crazy busy.
Steffy: Well, the stage looks amazing. And the list of designers, fantastic. I hear there's tons of press.
Ramona: Uh, the press-- yep, they're ready to go.
Hope: Oh, so this is where it all takes place.
Liam: Yeah. Pretty cool.
Hope: Uh, well, you wanna get out and walk?
Liam: No, let's go back to the house, come back in the morning when it's packed.
Hope: Good idea. After a flight with Steffy, I could use a little alone time. (Laughs)
Liam: (Chuckles) Okay.
Man 1: All right, all right. Hey, I just saw Hope Logan, white jeep.
Man 2: Game on.
Justin: Not too late to call this off.
Bill: Why would I do that?
Justin: I thought you might have second thoughts, leave well enough alone and let fate play its own hand.
Bill: I didn't get this far by leaving things to fate, Justin. And I am certainly not going to leave my only son's future in its fickle hands. I want Liam to have the best that life has to offer. And that does not include Hope Logan.
Justin: That is nice, but he has to figure it out for himself, otherwise it won't stick.
Bill: He will. I'm just hurrying the process along a little bit.
Justin: (Chuckles) I see. Well, don't be surprised if Liam doesn't thank you for it.
Bill: Liam will never see my hand. All he will see is Hope for what she really is.
Justin: Trust me, Hope comes with her own issues. What woman doesn't? But she has a lot of things to offset them-- great style, she's beautiful, she has one hell of a pedigree.
Bill: Well, guess you missed your calling. You--you should have been a-a-a judge for Miss Congeniality contests.
Justin: (Chuckles) Right.
Bill: Hope is a crack pot, and she's gonna drag my son down with her. And I'm not gonna stand by and let that happen.
Rick: How long has Hope been in therapy?
Brooke: Not that long. (Sighs) Maybe a month or two.
Rick: And the doctor prescribed her antianxiety medication?
Brooke: I wouldn't say prescribed.
Rick: Then how did she get it
Brooke: Dr. Barton gave her two, and I guess it worked so well, Hope went online to buy more.
Rick: You gotta be kidding me.
Brooke: No, I wish I were.
Rick: I hope you told her what a really bad idea that is.
Brooke: Of course I did. And she assured me she'd never do it again.
Rick: And you believe her?
Rick: She's not addicted or anything, is she?
Brooke: No. No. Thank God.
Rick: You see, this just makes me even more concerned. I mean, last time Liam and Hope and Steffy went away, it--it--it didn't turn out so good. And I--they weren't even in the middle of a media blitz in Cabo. This could really mess her up.
Brooke: Liam's not going to let that happen.
Rick: And on top of it, to add fuel to the fire, they're staying at Bill's house? You know how he feels about Hope.
Brooke: I talked to Bill and warned him not to do anything.
Rick: Yeah, you think that's gonna stop him? (Sighs) You know what, I should have just went with my first instinct and went to Aspen. Hope's gonna need someone watching her back. Good thing I got my resources.
(Cell phone rings)
Othello: Rick, my dawg. I've been waiting for you to call. Where you stayin'?
Rick: I sat this one out. Hey, listen, I'm gonna need you to be my eyes and ears again.
Othello: What's going on?
Rick: (Sighs) My sister is there with Liam and, unfortunately, Steffy, too.
Othello: Ah, I could see how this could be a problem.
Rick: Yeah, you know, and Hope has been under-- she's been under a lot of pressure lately.
Othello: Yeah, yeah, we get the tabloids here, as well. I'm fully aware of the press she's getting. Not good.
Rick: That's why I need you to keep an eye on her. Make sure she doesn't get into a bad situation.
Othello: No worries. I'm on it. I'll watch Hope like she's my own little sister.
Rick: Thanks, Othello. I'll owe you.
Ramona: Just tell him I'll be back in the press box in a few minutes, okay? Thank you. So, Steffy, you here for the party?
Steffy: Yeah, I might hit a few. But this trip is about research. I'm starting a ski wear line.
Steffy: It's--you know, it's my way of keeping close to Aspen. It's weird, I-I know. I know. (Chuckles)
Ramona: No, it's not. I mean, you and Liam were married here. How's that going, by the way? I know you haven't given up on him.
Steffy: Not a chance.
Liam: It's very private here.
Hope: Yeah, I already feel safe.
Liam: You sure you're not gonna go stir-crazy while I'm working?
Hope: No, I'm going to take full advantage of this. I will go for a walk. I'll sleep. I'll read.
Liam: There you go.
Liam: (Chuckles) And then later, we can sneak into town, you know, keep it low-key, avoid the press.
Hope: Mmm. That sounds perfect. (Giggles)
Brooke: It doesn't seem like knowing Othelloís looking out for Hope is giving you any kind of peace of mind.
Rick: I just keep thinking maybe I should be heading to the airport myself.
Brooke: Liam is going to protect Hope.
Rick: From his father? (Scoffs) He's not so good at that.
Brooke: What do you think Bill's going to do?
Rick: I don't know. The man's reckless. Maybe I'm just reacting to the fact they're staying at the Spencer house. You know, with Bill in the mix, even from a distance... it just gives me a bad feeling.
Justin: I'm your friend, right?
Bill: For the time being.
Justin: So that means that I won't steer you wrong. So hopefully you can hear me on this. Butt out. Let Liam be with who Liam wants to be with. Take all that renegade energy, and focus it on your own wife.
Bill: I intend to.
Bill: As soon as Hope passes or fails my test. Look, it's simple. If Liam marries Hope, she becomes Mrs. William Spencer III, with all its attendant privileges and responsibilities. All she has to do is live up to her end of the bargain...
Bill: Be a good partner to Liam, an asset, not an emotional leech who sucks him dry. If she can't hold up to a little media scrutiny, she's not fit to be his spouse. I'm giving Hope a chance to show what she's made of.
Justin: I get it now. So you--you're doing her a favor.
Bill: Exactly. Instead of Dollar Bill, call me "Altruist Bill."
Hope: This is ridiculous. There is a river...
Hope: Going through the backyard.
Liam: Yep. Yeah. And the water is freezing. Trust me.
Liam: But... the hot tub isnít.
Hope: Oh. (Chuckles)
Steffy: It's my fault Liamís with Hope.
Ramona: Why do you say that?
Steffy: I did everything wrong right from the start, when I manipulated him into marriage. And the hits, they just kept on coming. But you know what? I'm--we're gonna get through this. I just have these little moments, you know, like right now. Just knowing that Liam is in our honeymoon house with Hope... it's killing me.
Justin: Bill, what are you looking for?
Bill: The schedule of interviews that Liam set up in Aspen. He was supposed to e-mail them to me, but I guess he was too hyped up about his trip with Hope.
Justin: Poor guy. Has no idea about your plans.
Bill: How many times do I have to say it? I'm looking out for my son, making sure that Hope has what it takes to handle being a Spencer.
Justin: I think you overreacted to Hope being a potential liability.
Bill: What are you talking about? Liam is gonna take over my empire one day. He needs a wife who can handle some challenges. I mean, if Hope is gonna fall apart because of a little pressure from reporters, how is she gonna handle any real adversity?
Justin: But she's your son's choice.
Bill: Well, he doesn't see her for how she is. How often does he smile with Hope?
Justin: I don't know.
Bill: How often did he smile with Steffy? Look at what Katie does for me. She challenges me. She makes me stronger. She makes me a better man. You think Hope is gonna do that for Liam? No. No, she's going to keep clinging to him, taking from him. And we both know that's true.
Justin: Okay, but all the strings that you're pulling to make sure that this turns out the way that you want-- dude, come on, how far can you push your son?
Bill: You know what? Maybe Hope will rise to the occasion, prove me wrong. Great. Either way, my son's life is going to be happier because of me.
Steffy: That house means so much to me. It's where we spent our honeymoon night. And the thought of Liam being there with Hope... (Groans)
Ramona: (Speaking indistinctly)
Steffy: Thanks. You know what? I-I-I can't dwell on that. No. Liam has to find his own way back to me. And in the meantime, I guess I could-- I'll just get on with things. (Chuckles) You know, I'm gonna check in and get ready for tonight. But I'm--I'm really happy we were able to catch up before the madness starts.
Ramona: Yeah, me, too. And, Steffy...
Ramona: Aspen was a magic place for you once, and I have a feeling it will be again. By the end of the week, who knows, maybe you'll be flying home with your husband.
Liam: This is livin'.
Liam: Thanks for the memories.
Hope: What's that?
Liam: It--it's Bob Hope.
Liam: Bob Ho-- like, the greatest entertainer of all time.
Hope: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
Liam: That's his signature song.
Hope: (Chuckles) Eeh.
Liam: What? No. Whoa. Time-out. Intervention.
Hope: (Laughs) What?
Liam: No, it's-- it's movie night at the Spencer retreat. I'm sorry. Roaring fire, "Road to Morocco," 1942. It's a classic.
Hope: No, no. Mnh-mnh. No way.
Liam: But it's Bob Hope.
Hope: I know. He's your fave. Just shut up and kiss me.
Liam: I... (Scoffs) I can't believe you.
Liam: I'm so offended right now.
Hope: Oh, t--it's okay. (Laughs)
Bill: Talk to me.
Olive S: Steffy just left to check in to her hotel. Hope and Liam are on the way to the house. I heard they drove by the snow stage on their way in.
Bill: Did the press spot them?
Olive S: A few did, but tomorrow we strike, full force. The press will be on Hope like bees to a hive.
Bill: Well, if Hope can stand it, maybe I've underestimated her. If not, it all ends... tomorrow.
Hope: "Rocky mountain high," that's an old song, right?
Liam: (Chuckles) Yeah. Yeah, it's John Denver. Very--very good.
Hope: See? Thank you. I know some things. I'm not a complete music snob.
Hope: (Sighs) I get it now.
Liam: Right? 'Cause the high that you feel is the Rockies.
Liam: It's better than any drug.
Hope: Ain't that the truth? That is all behind me now. Thank the Lord.
Liam: Thank you, Lord.
Hope: Thank you, Lord.
Liam: Thank you.
Hope: (Chuckles) I promised you never again, Liam, and that is a promise that am going to keep... till death do us part. I can't wait to be your wife.
Liam: I can't wait to be your husband.
Hope: Mm. What do you say? Like, three kids?
Liam: Yeah, six.
Liam: Why, is that-- is it too little? Should we--more?
Hope: No, no. I think six is good. Yeah.
Liam: Okay, then I want-- I want a dog.
Hope: Oh, of course.
Liam: Yeah, a Saint Bernard.
Hope: Oh, go big, right?
Liam: Yeah. I know exactly what to name it, too.
Hope: (Laughs) You're such a dork. (Laughs)
