Hope: Liam, we can do this. I love you, and you love me. You made a commitment, yes, but, Liam, it was made under false pretenses. A-and would you have married Steffy if I had gotten there first a-and had a chance to explain? No. Liam, you wouldn't have. Liam, say something.
Liam: I-I don't--I don't know what to say, Hope.
Hope: Okay, look, a-a-a mistake was made, all right? And it needs to be corrected. We can fix this.
Ridge: (Sighs) You both know this can't go on.
Steffy: It's open.
Brooke: Is something burning?
Steffy: Well, not anymore. The bag's biodegradable, but I'm not so sure the so-called risotto is. But these are the risks we take when we're in love, right?
Brooke: (Scoffs) Well, you've done something a lot more serious than burning Liam's dinner.
Steffy: And what if I did? What does it have to do with you?
Nick: There's a word for men who sell love for money.
Jackie: Mm-hmm, several. I don't think there's a word for men who sell love for women's clothing, though.
Nick: You think you're so cute.
Jackie: What I am is "a," desperate for new line to sell at Jackie M., as are you and "b," not annoyed enough with Stephanie to steal her husband, but annoyed enough to steal one or two of his designs.
Nick: Pam will not be able to pull this off. Amber--yes. She was sneaky. But Pam? She's like a-- a walking emergency flare.
Jackie: Well, then I guess your manly virtue is safe.
Pam: Hey, what the heck? How did this get in there? (Scoffs) Oh, I see. Well, maybe it fell of the table. (Gasps) (Laughs quietly)
Nick: I'll be in the pool.
Jackie: Oh, I suppose you need to cool off after thinking of Pammy.
Nick: That's not funny! And what do I do if she accidentally succeeds?
Jackie: Mm... I suppose you give her what you promised her you would.
Nick: No, no. I didn't promise.
Jackie: You've been without a woman for too long, Nicky. I'm just looking after you like a good mother should.
Nick: Well, I don't appreciate being treated like a piece of meat. Not by a semi-homicidal maniac, anyway.
Jackie: Oh, don't be so judgmental. Pam hasn't tried to kill anyone in ages.
(Camera shutter clicking)
Oliver: Hey, Pam.
Pam: (Gasps) Oh! Oh, my God. (Laughs) Oliver, do you ever knock? You scared me half to death.
Oliver: I thought Mr. Forrester might have signed off on the edits to that promo.
Pam: That he what?
Oliver: Have you seen him around anywhere?
Pam: What? I'm sorry. Who?
Oliver: Oh, what's going on?
Pam: Why? Nothing.
Oliver: Could I see that?
Pam: No. What--Oliver, what are you-- (sighs)
Brooke: I was right all along.
Steffy: Really? You could have e-mailed me if that's all you had to say.
Brooke: It must have been pretty frightening for you knowing the truth could come out at any time and Liam would leave you.
Steffy: No, I'm not worried. You're always raving about me, but who listens? And nothing came out, okay? I talked to my husband.
Brooke: I just have one question, Steffy why did you do it? Or do I even have to ask?
Steffy: You actually think I married Liam to get back at you?
Brooke: Did you?
Ridge: Liam, you shouldn't be here.
Hope: Dad, the most amazing thing has happened.
Ridge: Your ex-boyfriend married Steffy. That makes it rather inappropriate, Hope, that you'd meet with him behind closed doors.
Pam: Oliver... (scoffs) I need my phone.
Oliver: You sure it's yours?
Pam: Wh-why do you ask me that?
Oliver: Well, it looks like mine, which I can't find.
Pam: (Scoffs) Oh, my God.
Oliver: I left it around here somewhere.
Pam: Yes, I'm sure that it's mine. (Laughs) I'm sorry. I didn't-- I didn't mean to grab it it's just that I've got a lot of personal stuff on this phone, you know? Yeah.
Oliver: I get it. No problem.
Pam: So don't you think that maybe you should go look for your phone? You know?
Pam: Yeah. Okay.
Pam: Bye. Could--could you maybe close the door when you go? Thanks. Yes.
(Camera shutter clicking)
Nick: I can't believe you're asking me to play with this poor woman's feelings.
Jackie: I'm not. She needs affection. We need what she can bring us. Fair exchange. What's wrong with that?
Nick: I'll be in the pool.
(Cell phone rings)
Jackie: Oh, Nick, your--oh.
Pam: (Quietly) Mission accomplished. You wanted two of Eric's designs? Well, I got 'em.
Jackie: (Gasps) What, already?
Pam: Theft's easy. Baking takes time. Hey, now, Jackie, I'm gonna get my reward right? Nick's not gonna back out?
Jackie: (Scoffs) Oh, no, no. In fact...
Jackie: He's been talking about nothing else.
Brooke: You knew Hope was in Aspen. You also knew she didn't like the way she broke things off with Liam. So you could kind of guess why she was there. She was heading up the mountain to see Liam, and somehow, Steffy, you had that gondola stopped. And then you pulled out this surprise wedding, and Liam had no idea what was going on. And when he asked, you lied to him.
Steffy: You know, is it possible in your rush to tell me how bad I am you don't get that you missed the boat? I told Liam myself.
Brooke: You don't get points for that, no matter how badly you think you deserve them.
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, it's a really horrible thing to lie to your husband. The fear of him finding out... hating yourself for it... it makes me wonder how you could stand to do it so many times.
Liam: Mr. Forrester, there's been some confusion. Uh, a misunderstanding between--
Hope: Dad, I know this is going to be really hard for you to hear, but Steffy lied, okay? She admitted it.
Ridge: So I heard.
Hope: Okay. O-okay you know that we were tricked and lied to, or else we'd still be together.
Ridge: Would you? See, that's not the way I remember it. I remember you breaking it off with Liam.
Hope: Well, yeah, I mean, I-I was hurt. I saw Steffy kissing him.
Ridge: He chose her, sweetheart.
Hope: No. No.
Liam: Well, no, not--not at that time. I mean, that was... I don't know what that was.
Ridge: It was a choice.
Hope: Okay, but... he was hurt, too.
Ridge: What does that erase? You proposed to Steffy.
Hope: Okay, but the point is that somehow Steffy found out that I had gone to Aspen after them.
Ridge: She has every reason to be unhappy about that. So was I. They were engaged, Hope. That's a commitment that you chose not to respect. But you are going to respect their marriage.
Nick: God. (Sighs) You know what they say about feeling "grounded"? That means water for me. (Sighs) I gotta be next to the water. It clears my head. You should try it.
Pam: Well, okay. (Laughs)
Nick: Where's my mother?
Pam: Oh, she had to go back to the office early. You know, I didn't bring a swimsuit or anything, but... (blows raspberry) what the heck? Stephen and I used to have whole meals together with no clothes on. You know, except for the napkins. Do I--do I have to get my hair wet?
Nick: No. No, no, no, no. I just put extra chlorine in the pool, so now's not a good time to go in.
Pam: When I was a little girl, I used to swim so much at the club in the summer that my hair would turn green. I begged mother to cut it off because I was sure that all the kids would laugh at me, you know, because of my green hair. But she wouldn't do it, so I just never went out except to the pool. (Gasps) (singsong voice) Guess what I brought you. (Laughs)
Nick: A couple of Eric Forrester designs?
Pam: (Normal voice) I mean besides that.
Nick: Oh, I don't know. Um... lemon bars?
Pam: Those piercing eyes of yours just see right through me, don't they?
Brooke: You're right. (Sighs) I've been less than truthful to your father more than once.
Steffy: Unlike you, I didn't wait to tell Liam the truth until I knew he'd find out anyway. No, I could have kept that secret to the grave, but I didn't like the way it felt.
Brooke: I see how it is.
Steffy: Oh, do you? Yeah, Liam and I are happy, so could you please just leave us alone?
Brooke: Yeah, you're like the bank robber who confesses after the money's all gone.
Brooke: It's not quite as painful to make a clean breast of things when there's nothing to give back. You know Liam, how he feels about marriage, how faithful he is. You took a calculated risk telling him, but you knew you could afford it.
Steffy: Well, I'll never do anything to him that I'd be afraid to tell him again.
Brooke: There's one thing you need to know about lying-- you never get what you want. You think you have it in the palm of your hand, and then it just slips through your fingers.
Brooke: Liam and Hope are together right now, and everything you did to try to keep them apart, it's coming unraveled. You can't lie, Steffy, without consequences. That is something you're going to have to learn.
Ridge: Liam, you really need to do something about this tendency of yours to get involved in situations, and then you claim you just don't know how they happened.
Hope: But he didn't know until Steffy admitted to what she'd done.
Ridge: Amber was one thing. But you are not gonna claim you had a concussion when you married my daughter.
Liam: No, all-- all I'm saying is that I didn't know that Hope was there hanging in midair, wanting to get to me but unable to.
Ridge: Mm, and what would that have changed? Liam, the question before you wasn't "Steffy or Hope?" It was whether you were willing to uphold your promise to marry my daughter.
Liam: Which I did. I did.
Ridge: So you looked in my daughter's eyes and told her you love her, and that you would continue to love her for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, for as long as you both shall live, right?
Liam: That's right.
Ridge: Did you mean it?
Liam: Yeah, I did.
Ridge: You know, you're not the first man to, uh, ever be in love with two women. It's not an easy position to be in. But ultimately, you have to hurt one of them to keep from continuing to hurt both of them. So why don't you show yourself some respect, show my daughter some respect, and have respect for the vows both of you made to each other, and go home?
Hope: I thought I was your daughter, too.
Pam: There is nothing like lemon bars with coffee in the morning.
Nick: I always like them.
Pam: (chuckles) Breakfast in bed. And I already know how you take your coffee.
Nick: That's some memory you've got.
Pam: Like an elephant.
Nick: I noticed you weren't carrying anything sketch-sized.
Pam: They say sometimes good things come in small packages.
Nick: Yes, yes, they do.
Nick: I think I'm gonna put my shirt on.
Pam: Oh, don't do that.
Nick: No, I'm just a little chilly, so...
Pam: No, Nick, um, you know, let's not beat around the bush. Uh, I brought you two of Eric's designs. So now I want you to give me something I want. Now I could go to jail for this, so you in or out? Okay. Put the shirt down. I want to enjoy the view. (Laughs)
Steffy: Okay, Brooke, you know, I've got a lot of things to do before Liam comes home, all right?
Brooke: Do you think he will?
Steffy: Do you think I'm a fool? Do you think I didn't know Hope would make a beeline towards Liam as soon as she found out there was something else that she could blame me for? Do you think I'm blissfully unaware that they have feelings for each other?
Brooke: (Sighs) You never really get over your first love.
Steffy: Yeah, but not many people have a "happily ever after" with their first love. Liam's accepted that.
Brooke: That's what he says Steffy but he just doesn't want to hurt you.
Steffy: Or maybe what he and Hope had just wasn't very deep. Hope doesn't seem to mind being comforted by Thomas. And Thomas isn't just being nice.
Brooke: But Hope loves Liam, and I believe he loves her, too.
Steffy: No, Brooke. Liam loves me now. You, your sisters, and your daughter-- you need to accept that.
Ridge: Hope, that's not fair. I wasn't playing favorites.
Hope: Really? Because you've yet to acknowledge that what Steffy did was wrong.
Ridge: Was it underhanded? Yes, but she was protecting her engagement.
Hope: (Scoffs) Um, I was engaged to Liam, too. Who was protecting me?
Ridge: You chose to end it, sweetheart.
Ridge: Now Steffy has a claim on Liam that you never had. You really should go. Your life is elsewhere, not here.
Hope: She only has a claim on him because she trapped him.
Ridge: Steffy didn't let you down, sweetheart. Neither did I. Liam said yes.
Hope: You're taking her side?
Ridge: I'm taking the side of this marriage. That much is true. This family has had too many divorces, too much infidelity, scandals.
Hope: Yes, yes, and the way that Steffy took him from me is one of them. But you don't want to see that. Is it because I'm Deacon's daughter?
Ridge: You know better than that.
Hope: I used to think I did.
Ridge: (Sighs) You're not a child anymore. You've really begun to make your mark on the world. You made a stand for principles and integrity. But now, you really need to live those values.
Hope: Well, Steffy was right about one thing-- loving my mother doesn't make you my father. And as for integrity, I would weigh mine against Steffy's any day. There is no integrity in this marriage. It is based on lies and deceit. And Liam still loves me.
Ridge: Did he tell you that?
Hope: He didn't have to. I can feel it. And so can you. Don't tell me to give up on the man I love. Steffy may think that he's hers, but he's not. And I am not just going to hand him over to her, Ridge. I am never going to give up on Liam.
