Eric: Childish? What's childish?

Stephanie: Well, look at you.

Eric: What?

Stephanie: Well, I mean, all of this. I mean, I-- come on, Eric, I've just traveled all the way across the country.

Eric: A time when some women...

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Eric: Would look forward to seeing the one they love. Foolish of me to think that you would be one of them.

Owen: I thought you were moving back to the loft.

Jackie: (Sighs) Change of plans. (Chuckles) I want to keep looking forward, not back.

Owen: Good for you.

Jackie: How's Logan?

Owen: Well, he's great.

Jackie: Oh, good.

Owen: I was talkin' to Nick about you.

Jackie: Oh, no, is that why you're here?

Owen: We're just-- both of us are worried.

Jackie: There's no reason.

Owen: You sure about that?

(Knock on door)

Amber: Marcus, you home?

Marcus: Oh, no. Damn it. Yeah. I can't believe this is happening.

Dayzee: Is it pickup time already?

Marcus: I guess so.

Amber: Look, I know I'm early, but I--

Marcus: I'm here, Amber. Um, we're here. Come in.

Amber: Hi, Dayzee.

Dayzee: Hi.

Amber: Sorry. Um, I really didn't mean to interrupt, uh...

Marcus: (Sighs) Rosey's just starting to wake up.

Amber: Good. I'll just, uh, I'll get her all packed up and get out of your way, let you guys get back to your evening. What?

Dayzee: Um, you're... you're just being so nice.

Amber: Well, um, you guys are together. And we all have to get along to make Rosey's life as pleasant as possible, right?

Marcus: Right. Hey, no arguments from me. (Chuckles)

Dayzee: Yeah.

Amber: Yeah, I, uh, I'm sick of being the person that messes up everyone's life I, um, I'm a mom now, and I need to start making better choices. I mean, don't get me wrong. I would love to have a shot at the whole nuclear family with you. Maybe if we knew she was yours from the start, but we didn't. I mean, our timing was off, and you're with Dayzee now, so... me? I will meet someone someday. And not because I'm chasing him or conning him or anything like that, but because I love him and he loves me, and, um, I'm gonna wait for that guy, whoever he is. So, uh, she had her bottle before you put her down?

Marcus: Yes, she drank 8 ounces. Mm-hmm.

Amber: Oh, that's my girl. Well, I'll get out of your hair, so...

Marcus: You know, if you want, I can watch her for another night-- give you some time to go out and find that dream guy of yours.

Amber: (Chuckles) No, thank you. No, my, uh, dream guy will have to fall for me and Rosey, and I'll meet him at a-a park or something, not some nightclub. Thank you.

Marcus: Okay, good. Now I want you to be careful who you bring into our daughter's work day?

Amber: Oh, you don't have to worry. You know, whoever I fall for and give my heart to will have to be just like you. You got a great guy, Dayzee. Don't ever forget that. Yeah, come on, Baby. Come on, my little bug.

Marcus: Bye, Rosey. Bye, Amber.

Amber: Bye, Daddy.

Jackie: You're checking up on me.

Owen: Maybe.

Jackie: (Sighs) That's incredibly sweet. But I'm fine. And please, would you tell my son that? He is being a mother hen.

Owen: He just worries about you, Jackie, and so do I.

Jackie: Well, don't, Darling, you have your life. You--you have your family. I-it's what I want for you.

Owen: What about you?

Jackie: I'm going to be making new memories.

Owen: I'm glad to hear that I just... I don't want you to be alone. You know, being with Bridget and Logan is what I need, and I just can't stand the thought of you not--not finding the love that you deserve.

Jackie: (Chuckles) Oh, please. I-I-I've got men circling. (Chuckles) Oh, Eric kissed me. (Chuckles)

Owen: Forrester?

Jackie: I just said it to reassure you that I'm not going to be rushing off to a nunnery.

Owen: Wait a second. You kissed Eric Forrester?

Jackie: Yes, I did, but it was in public. It was in a restaurant, and it was just a moment of warmth. Except Ridge was there, and he saw, and he's making a bit of a to-do about it. It's--

Owen: Look, Jackie, I don't like this. This could seriously get very ugly.

Jackie: It won't. I'm fine. I'm more concerned about Eric and Stephanie, actually.

Stephanie: Don't make this into something that it isn't. I've been traveling. I'm tired.

Eric: I thought you were willing to try.

Stephanie: Well, yes, but not after I've traveled all the way across the country and I've got an 8:00 doctor's appointment.

Eric: Okay, uh, careful. Don't waste your excuses. Use the travel thing now, and then hit me with the health thing later.

Stephanie: You're being selfish.

Eric: Am I?

Stephanie: Yes.

Eric: I thought it would be romantic for you to return to this and to come back to me and... (Sighs) Never mind.

Stephanie: I thought we talked this all out the other day. (Sighs) You know... (Chuckles) You keep harping at me and pressuring me, and I'm going to feel less and less. I want to. It's just... it has to be the right moment, okay? Or it's not going to happen. I'm sorry.

Owen: Just be careful. That's all I ask.

Jackie: I will. Thank you for caring

Owen: Okay, well, I better head out.

Jackie: Okay. (Clears throat) Bring that adorable son over to see me really soon, okay?

Owen: Will.

Jackie: Good.

Stephanie: What are you doing? Where are you going?

Eric: Somewhere else.

Stephanie: What? Oh, why don't we make the me the bad guy. I-I'm wrong?

Eric: No, Stephanie, you're not wrong. You're never wrong.

Stephanie: Oh, come on, Eric, let's talk this out.

Eric: Don't wait up.

Marcus: You know, I do hope Amber finds somebody someday for Rosey's sake-- her mom and dad in good relationships, in love.

Dayzee: Is Rosey's daddy in love?

Marcus: Yes, I love you.

Dayzee: I love you, too.

Marcus: You know, um, I don't know what time Oliver's gonna be getting home, so, uh, maybe we should take this upstairs? Unless... you're not sure.

Dayzee: Almost too sure. (Sighs) That's the problem. I... Amber's right. You're amazing, Marcus, and handsome... (Sighs) And a great father to Rosey. You've just got everything going for you. It's just the opposite of... (Sighs) I've just been disappointed, you know, let down too many times. And I just can't help thinking that taking this further is just gonna set me up for a fall.

Marcus: What part of "I love you" didn't you hear?

Dayzee: I've been in love before, and it can hurt.

Marcus: Yeah, sometimes, if you're let down. You know, I-if the person you're with is not-- is not who you thought or who you deserve, but is that love? 'Cause, you see, what I'm thinkin'... if its true love, it can't hurt, and you and me my Dayzee, my heart, this feels pretty damn real.

Dayzee: (Sighs)

Stephanie: (Sighs)

(Front door opens)

Ridge: Where's Dad? I didn't see his car.

Stephanie: He left. (Sighs)

Ridge: What happened?

Stephanie: Oh, I hurt his feelings. I embarrassed him. I-I didn't mean to. (Sighs) You know, he--he has his needs and his desires. Who doesn't? It's just that right now at this point in my life, I need a little personal space, and I... I don't want to feel pressured you know what I mean? (Laughs) And at his age, I mean, really, if that's all he wants, then he should go someplace else.

Jackie: Eric?

Eric: I didn't know where else to go.

Jackie: (Sighs) C-come on in. What--what's the matter?

Eric: Thank you. I was driving around and I, uh, wasn't paying attention, so I pulled over and, uh, well, here I am.

Jackie: Well, I'm glad that you came to see me.

Eric: (Sighs)

Jackie: You're always welcome here.

Eric: It puts you in an awkward position, though, doesn't it?

Jackie: No, no, not at all, actually, because Nicky and his son, they're spending the night on "The Marlin."

Eric: Hmm.

Jackie: Why don't you let me make you a cup of tea? You can tell me what's going on.

Eric: Uh, you have something stronger than that? Hmm?

Jackie: Oh. This is about Stephanie, I presume.

Eric: Yes.

Jackie: Please don't tell me she extended her trip and she's not coming home.

Eric: No, no, she-- she came home.

Jackie: Oh, good. (Chuckles) But you're here.

Eric: Because I'm "Childish" and "Selfish" because I'm needy.

Ridge: Was he angry?

Stephanie: As I said, more embarrassed than anything. Uh, you know I would not deliberately hurt his feelings

Ridge: Of course you wouldn't, Mother.

Stephanie: (Sighs) Where could he be?

Ridge: I'll be back. Call me if you hear from him, okay?

Stephanie: Now don't go looking for him. That'll really embarrass him.

Ridge: Mother, he should be here with you now.

Eric: (Scoffs) How many times does this have to happen before I learn? I mean, that's the definition of insanity, isn't it? Doing the same thing over and over again, expecting some kind of different result?

Jackie: It's not sanity. It's love. You love her. (Scoffs) If only she knew how fortunate she was to have you. You are such a good, caring, attentive man. It's... oh, Eric, if she'd just open her eyes, she'd see that you are all... all she could possibly want.

Dayzee: You're right.

Marcus: About what?

Dayzee: Finding love... real love.

Marcus: I told you.

Dayzee: (Giggles)

Marcus: You're my baby.

Dayzee: (Giggles)

Marcus: (Chuckles)

(Cell phone rings) (Ring)

Stephanie: (Sighs)

(Ring) (Ringing stops)

Stephanie: (Sighs)

(Knock on door)

Ridge: Jackie, are you home?

Jackie: (Gasps) Is that Ridge?

Eric: Yes, I'll, um, I'll take care of this.

(Pounding on door)

Ridge: Jackie, is my father in there?

Eric: Yes, I am.

Ridge: Let's go.

Eric: Excuse me?

Ridge: You heard me. Let's go. You need to come home now.

Eric: Not wanted there, Ridge.

Ridge: Give me a break. Mother turns you down, she says no, so you come running to Jackie Marone?

Eric: You have no idea what I went through there tonight.

Ridge: What you went though? Mother's the one who traveled all day. She comes home to a guy begging for affection.

Eric: That's not what happened, Ridge.

Ridge: She's been fighting cancer, Dad, and you need to stand by her.

Eric: And just what the hell do you think I've been doing this last year?

Ridge: I understand you've been going through a rough time. But you're the patriarch of this family, and we're all depending on you, Dad. You need to come home with me now. Do not-- do not do this to Mother again.
