Bill: Hope lives her life as she wants to. She only lets you be a part of it when it suits her. That's not a marriage. I hate seeing you hurting like this.

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: Call off the engagement.

Rick: Hey, steaks are gettin' cold. You guys joining us?

Liam: Yeah, yeah, we'll-- we'll--we'll be right there. Let's go inside and enjoy your party.

Bill: (Sighs)

Brooke: Have you heard from Liam?

Hope: Uh, no, but I've been checking my cell, and, um, he's probably in the middle of some insane bachelor party-type debauchery.

Brooke: (Chuckles) Or not. I got a call from Donna while you were in the other room, and Justin said they're at Sunset L.A., and it's all very sophisticated and boring. Not a stripper in sight.

Hope: Oh. Oh, poor Liam. (Chuckles) Well, I guess he'll just be even more excited when he comes home to me.

Katie: So you're not backing off. Is that what you're saying?

Steffy: Why should I? Hope doesn't appreciate Liam.

Katie: Oh, my God. You're like a broken record. I mean, is this how you want to live your life? Making the same mistake over and over again? Here's a tip-- stay away from married men.

Steffy: Okay, uh, Liam and Hope-- they're not married, not yet. But with the way Hope is treating him, I doubt they ever will be.

Steffy: Hope has broken too many promises, made Liam wait too long. I mean, a man has his limits.

Katie: Liam is not gonna call off the wedding because Hope wants to save herself for marriage.

Steffy: He's going to call off the wedding to save himself from Hope.

Katie: (Sighs)

Steffy: He realizes exactly where he fits into her busy schedule, and that's right at the bottom. After she talks to the press, primps her hair, oh, rescues a dolphin or two, and then and only then will she think of him.

Katie: (Sighs)

Steffy: Why should he settle for that when he can be with me instead?

Hope: What? What is that look?

Brooke: (Sighs) Nothing.

Hope: What? Are you still worried that Liam's upset?

Brooke: I just don't want anything to go wrong. If he has it in his head that you broke a promise to him...

Hope: Well, he will, because I did. I-I told him that we could move the wedding date, but we--we can't. I was disappointed when I realized, but I understood, and so will Liam. We will talk it over. I will explain everything, and then I'll tell him how I feel and what I'm ready for, and, you know, I'll-- I'll tell him that the wedding is just a formality, that our real commitment to each other happens tonight.

Rick: Hey, does, uh, does Liam seem okay to you?

Marcus: Yeah. Why?

Rick: No reason. I don't really know the guy. Just... he seems out of it, I guess.

Marcus: Huh. No, man, that's just, you know, pre-wedding jitters.

Rick: Yeah, probably.

Marcus: Mm-hmm.

Rick: Hey, I hear congratulations is in order. You have a beautiful daughter.

Marcus: That I do. Thanks, man.

Rick: Yeah. You and Amber are...

Marcus: No.

Rick: Is she well?

Marcus: She is. Motherhood suits her.

Rick: I'm glad.

Justin: (Sighs) You think we should rescue Liam? He's stuck over there with Clyde in accounting. I mean, come on. You've gotta save him. Give him another toast or something.

Bill: I've already said everything there is to say. At some point, Liam has to learn to save himself.

Thomas: Okay, now-- now don't forget that the wedding is about her.

Justin: Yeah.

Oliver: Yeah, oh, you can't question anything. All right? And--and give up on that idea that you have any say in anything that happens.

Marcus: Who told you that? Who told you--

Justin: It's actually more than that. You give up on the idea that you have control over anything at all. Two words for you-- "yes" and "dear." (Laughter)

Justin: Re--memorize them. Use them.

Thomas: Hey, hey, hey. I think it's a little harsh. But, no, dude, seriously. Your--your life is totally over.

Justin: Oh, my gosh.

Oliver: Playin' by Hope's rules now.

Marcus: Yeah, be quiet.

Justin: I know, dude. I'm killin' it. It's great.

(Cell phone rings)

Steffy: Hello?

Bill: It's me.

Steffy: Hi.

Bill: Liam's miserable. I need your help.

Steffy: Uh, yeah. What can I do?

Bill: You can get over here. We're at Sunset L.A.

Steffy: Yeah, sure. I'll be right there. Look, um, I gotta go. A friend needs me. So, um, if you have anything else to say to me...

Katie: Just stay away from Liam. That's all.

Steffy: Yeah, yeah, and Bill, too. I'll try. Those Spencer men, they're hard to fight off.

Brooke: Wow. What's this?

Ridge: What's what?

Brooke: Oh, so you didn't notice all the candles, did you?

Ridge: Candles? Candles? What candles? Oh, these. Well, maybe someone wants a little alone time with his beautiful wife.

Brooke: I wonder who. Why didn't you go to the bachelor party?

Ridge: Well, let's see. Spending the evening with Bill Spencer or spending the evening with my absolutely gorgeous wife.

Brooke: (Laughs)

Ridge: Not much of a contest there.

Brooke: No.

Ridge: Besides, I'm the soon-to-be father-in-law. I didn't want Liam feelin' like he had to behave. It's probably better if I stayed here.

Brooke: He is going to have a good night tonight, but not because of the party. Hope's waiting for him over at his place.

Ridge: She is?

Brooke: And she doesn't have any plans on coming home.

Marcus: So what's goin' on? What, this is it? I thought we were goin' to the strip club.

Oliver: Lesson learned. You don't let your father throw your bachelor party, right?

Liam: Thanks for comin', Rick. Appreciate it.

Rick: Hey, I'm glad I could make it. I'm glad I was in town.

Liam: Yeah.

Rick: So, uh, listen, uh, you okay to drive? I can give you a lift.

Liam: Uh--

Bill: Uh, no need. I've already arranged for a driver.

Liam: I don't need that. I'm fine.

Bill: Well, better safe than sorry, right? Excuse me, guys.

Steffy: Hey. What's this?

Bill: The keys to Liam's car. You're driving him home. You're gonna walk him to his door. You're gonna give him a kiss good night. You're going to do whatever you have to end this engagement.

Liam: Whoa. No, you're right maybe I do need a driver. Thanks.

Bill: I'm your father. I'm always looking out for you.

Liam: Good night. (Grunts) Steffy?

Steffy: (Mouths words)

(Car engine starts)

Brooke: (Sighs) Now you see why I'm so concerned?

Ridge: Yeah, but I can understand why she'd want to tell him in person.

Brooke: Well, then she should have waited to tell him everything in person. All Liam knows is that she isn't able to push up the wedding. I heard her talking to him on the phone, and he didn't seem too happy about it. Liam was really looking forward to getting married sooner.

Ridge: Yeah, well, wait till he realizes what she has in mind for tonight.

Brooke: Yeah.

Marcus: Oh, yeah, great bachelor party, uh, there, Bill. Thanks for havin' us, man.

Bill: I'm glad you could be here to support Liam.

Oliver: I really do wish him the best, Bill.

Bill: Thanks, Oliver.

Justin: Hey.

Bill: (Sighs)

Justin: I'm proud of you.

Bill: Why?

Justin: Big step to throw a party for Liam, rethink your stance on Hope.

Bill: I didn't rethink anything.

Justin: Hmm.

Bill: That's why I just put Liam in the car with Steffy.

Justin: You did what?

Bill: Hope and Liam are done after tonight. Steffy's going to make sure of that.

Rick: Hey, it's me. You know anything about Steffy or Liam Spencer? Any gossip there? Call me back.

Liam: (Scoffs) I can't believe my dad asked you to drive me home.

Steffy: Well, if you've been drinking...

Liam: You and I both know that's not why.

Steffy: Okay, is it that bad to be around me?

Liam: No. I just wish he would learn to drop it.

Steffy: What? You and Hope?

Liam: Yeah, I mean, I-- he--he said he was accepting it. He said he was gonna try.

Steffy: Well, you know what? She's hurt you. She's broken a promise. I mean, your dad's not gonna give it up that easy.

Liam: Well, he should, 'cause it's not up to him. I-I mean, I love her. I'm gonna marry her. So...

Steffy: Yeah, on her terms. Look, I-I just don't understand that you could marry a person, and they're gonna choose a clothing line over you.

Liam: Okay, look, Steffy.

Steffy: God.

Liam: Hope-- all right, Hope hurt me tonight. And it's not the first time. But I've hurt her a lot worse, and, yeah, am I mad? Yes, I'm mad. I'm very mad, and I have every right to be, but we're gonna talk about it, and we're gonna work it out, and tomorrow, we'll wake up one day closer to my wedding.

Steffy: Well, if she has time for you.

Liam: Steffy, dude.

Steffy: No, I'm ju-- okay, I'm just saying, all right? Like, what? You need somebody, and she wasn't there. No, I was here for you. Your dad called, and I came. Look, if you need help, I'm gonna be there to drive you home, help you with your work if-- I'm just gonna be on your side. So whatever it is, I'll be there for you.

Liam: (Sighs)

Ridge: Liam's lucky we told Hope she couldn't move up the ceremony.

Brooke: You should have seen her. She was so happy and so excited. She was picking out CDs. She was lighting candles.

Ridge: Candles, you say?

Brooke: I wonder where she got that. (Laughs) *

Justin: I should have known.

Bill: Yeah, you should have. And what were you doing telling Liam all that-- that "yes, dear" crap? You know how I feel about the way Hope treats him.

Justin: Dude, I was just fooling around with--

Bill: Well, I'm not fooling around. This is no joke to me. That's why I got Steffy involved. I am not going to watch my son suffer the rest of his life with Hope.

(Car approaches)

Hope: (Sighs)

Steffy: Are you gonna call Hope?

Liam: She's expecting me to.

Steffy: Mm.

Liam: I don't know. Maybe I should wait till morning when I'm less upset. What do they say? "Don't ever go to bed angry"?

Steffy: Well, I think you should go to bed and let her worry.

Liam: (Scoffs)

Steffy: What are you even gonna say to her?

Liam: I'm not sure.

Steffy: Well, you want to practice on me?

Liam: That's weird.

Steffy: No, it's not. (Laughs)

Liam: Yeah, that's weird.

Steffy: No, it's not. No, you can pretend I'm Hope, okay?

Liam: (Laughs)

Steffy: No, you say you don't want to go to bed angry, so, um, let me have it.

Liam: Uh...

Steffy: Come on.

Liam: Okay, all right. Um... (sighs) I don't understand why you... first of all, I love you. I love you, and that's-- that's not gonna change. But this has been starting to feel a little one-sided lately. I mean, you know, I asked you for this one thing, just this one thing-- move up the wedding, you know, and--and it really sucks that you wouldn't even do that, that your work is more important to you than our--our personal li-- Steffy, this stupid.

Steffy: No, it's not. No, I-it's fine. You're just-- you're doing fine. Come on.

Liam: I know how much Hope for the Future means to you. But I'm talking about our marriage. I mean, I'm talking about the rest of our lives. How is your work more important than that? How is anything more important than making love for the first time?

Steffy: No, I-I wish I could-- I wish I had an answer for you, but, um, there's no explanation.

Liam: (Sighs) Well, I guess we'll find out when I see her tonight.

Steffy: Wait, see her?

Liam: Yeah, she wants to talk to me in person tonight. I mean, I guess that's a good sign, right? I mean, at least there's some logical reason why she's keeping the wedding date.

Steffy: Yeah, there-- there is a reason. She's a Logan. She's self-absorbed.

Liam: Oh, come on, Steffy. That's--that's not it. She's--she's anything but that. And she loves me. It's just... (sighs) we kind of have our wires crossed lately, and it's gonna end, you know? I'm gonna do something about it. I'm gonna talk to her, we're gonna discuss it, and everything is gonna work out fine.

Steffy: Okay.

Rick: (Sighs)

Steffy: Well, do you want me to go in there with you?

Liam: How is that a good idea?

Steffy: (Sighs) Okay, well, like, maybe if I go in there, uh, well, if you call her and, you know, she's busy, or she doesn't have an explanation or... I don't know. I could, you know, stay with you.

Liam: The night?

Steffy: Yeah, I don't-- yeah, I could spend the night with you. (Laughs)

Liam: (Laughs) Come on.

Steffy: What? What?

Liam: No, I can't-- no, I can't do that.

Steffy: Okay. Well, then, uh, can I kiss you? Just a... like, a-a friendly kiss, like the one on the beach.

Liam: (Sighs)
