Bill: You don't believe me.
Steffy: I'd like to, Bill, I really would.
Bill: I want you in Liam's life, Steffy, as more than a friend.
Hope: Everybody's waiting.
Liam: I know. Just another few minutes.
Liam: Mm. Mm.
Hope: In another few minutes, this room is gonna be full of reporters.
Liam: Oh, they can't start without you.
Hope: Uh-huh. (Giggles) Liam, Liam, Liam.
Hope: This is big.
Liam: I know. It's so big.
Liam: It's really, really big. Mm.
Hope: I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Liam. Soon you'll have me... all of me.
Liam: (Chuckles) Yeah, like, when we're married, which is in forever many months. (Sighs) I'm sorry. I'm not making this easy on you, am I?
Hope: I'm not making it any easier on myself. (Sighs)
Liam: Ignore me. I'm all... crazy these days. I'm just--
Hope: Hey. (Inhales sharply) You'll be fine.
Liam: (Sighs) God, you're hot.
Liam: Why are you so hot? I can't even--
Hope: Oh, that's nice to hear. Thank you. (Giggles)
Liam: And here I am, in love with the poster girl for abstinence. God, help me.
Hope: Just your luck, huh? (Giggles)
Liam: You know, I really do... respect what you're doing. I mean, you're a role model for so many young girls out there. It's just... (Laughs) You also happen to be my fiancée, so...
Hope: Yeah, but I'm soon to be your wife...
Hope: And everything that comes along with that.
Ridge: (Clears throat)
Ridge: We're all waiting out here.
Liam: She's, uh... she's ready.
Brooke: (Laughs) Good. Come on. Let's fix that hair. Oh, my goodness.
Hope: Oh, sorry. (Laughs)
Ridge: Need a minute to, uh, cool off?
Liam: Yeah. No. I'm--I'm good. I'm good.
Ridge: Mm-hmm. Right.
Jarrett: My, my. (Laughs) I know that look.
Pam: Well, hello, Jarrett. What look?
Jarrett: A woman in love.
Jarrett: (Chuckles) You and Stephen have a wedding date yet?
Pam: Uh... we're... working on that.
Jarrett: Oh. So there's still hope for me.
Pam: (Inhales sharply) Well...
Ridge: All right, everyone, we are ready to get started. Welcome.
Brooke: Ladies and gentlemen... (Sighs) I can't describe the pride that I'm feeling to introduce to you the star of this engagement, my daughter Hope Logan.
Hope: Thank you. Thank you, Mom. (Laughs) Thank you. Now I-I-I know you have a lot of questions, so I will keep this brief. As you know, I just got back from Paris, and the response that we got to my line in Paris and all over Europe was just... it was more than I ever could have anticipated. I am so humbled and so grateful. And Hope for the Future is very much alive on the continent. Thank you. Thank you. And so is our message to young women all over the world-- respect us as we respect ourselves. All right, questions.
Woman: You are generating a lot of excitement in the industry-- your personality, your message of sexual abstinence, and, of course, your recent engagement to Liam. He must be a unique young man.
Hope: Um... Liam is loving... (Sighs) And very supportive and patient, but we are here today to talk about Hope for the Future.
Woman: And is he with you here today?
Hope: Yes, I'm very glad to say that he is.
(Camera shutters clicking)
Steffy: Wait, I thought you-- I thought you liked Hope.
Bill: I like her. She's sweet... too sweet. She's putting my son in a diabetic coma. She's using Liam, and it's hurting him. It's unacceptable.
Steffy: No, I feel the exact same way. I want to help Liam. I don't know. We've become very close.
Bill: I'm pleased to hear that.
Steffy: Really? Are you, Bill?
Hope: Thank you. Thank you. Do we have any more questions?
Woman: Are you planning another European tour?
Hope: Uh, we are talking about it, yes.
Woman: What's the itinerary?
Hope: We're working that out right now. (Laughs)
Jarrett: Sounds like you'll be working nonstop.
Hope: Oh, yeah, it does, doesn't it? (Laughs)
Man: How about a picture of you and Brooke?
Hope: Oh, of course. Yeah. Mom, you want to come in? (Laughs)
(Camera shutters clicking)
Pam: (Mouths words)
Bill: Are you disappointed?
Steffy: About what?
Bill: That I support you and my son in a relationship.
Steffy: Why would I be disappointed? Are you disappointed that I'm not?
Bill: I'm committed to my wife.
Steffy: Good. So it's not a difficult admission.
Bill: Nope. But it is tinged with a hint of guilt.
Steffy: Guilt is very nonproductive.
Bill: Oh, you're preaching to the choir on that one.
Bill: I've lived most of my life by that motto. But I am sorry.
Steffy: For what you did to me or to Katie?
Steffy: Mm. The penitent Bill Spencer. You don't really wear that coat too well.
Bill: (Chuckles) It is a pretty tight fit.
Steffy: Yeah. Apologies have never been your strong point.
Bill: Well, promise me you'll keep it to yourself.
Bill: That, on occasion, a little blood flows through this heart.
Steffy: You have a big heart, Bill. But it belongs to someone else. So I don't think you'd be a very good risk when it comes to relationships.
Bill: Sort of like Hope Logan.
Steffy: Well, she's not a very good risk, either, but, um, that's for different reasons.
Bill: She has high principles. Mine are questionable.
Steffy: Oh, I wouldn't put it that way.
Bill: Doesn't make it any less true.
Steffy: Maybe not. But you do know that both of you will be disappointed. A person with over-inflated principles is just as difficult to love as someone with none at all.
Bill: Agreed. That's why I want my son away from Hope. She'll never make him happy. You, on the other hand, you could make him very happy. Just so I'm clear, Liam plucked you out of the bathtub, breathed a couple breaths into you, and bingo, you're in love with him. Is that about the size of it?
Steffy: It's more than that, Bill. Wait, are you questioning my intentions?
Bill: Just checking.
Bill: You know as well as anybody how protective I am of my son.
Steffy: Well, Liam's a big boy.
Bill: But he's my boy, and he's becoming part of Hope's agenda.
Steffy: I don't disagree.
Bill: He's always gonna be second to her cause, and I can't have that.
Steffy: I don't want that, either.
Bill: Then you have to do something about it.
Steffy: Uh, Bill, I've been trying. (Scoffs)
Bill: Come on, Steffy. A woman like you doesn't try. She gets what she wants. I know that from personal experience.
Steffy: Well, obviously, what I want, I can't always have. You're the perfect example.
Bill: But you don't want me anymore, do you?
Steffy: Why--why are you asking me this? How--how would you like me to answer this for you, Bill?
Steffy: What I want is your son. I'm in love with Liam. You betrayed me, Bill. I should have see coming, but I didn't. You made promises to me I should have known you would never keep. So no... I don't love you anymore.
Bill: Okay. Now that we're clear go after Liam. Work your magic.
Steffy: Excuse me? You--seduce him? I-is that you think I'm trying to do?
Bill: If you love my son, you want what's best for him, as do I, and that is not Hope.
Steffy: They're engaged. Hope and Liam, they're in love.
Bill: Hope is messing with him. Her stand on celibacy, it's ridiculous, archaic.
Steffy: Not to mention, cruel and manipulative.
Bill: My son is headstrong. I don't know where he gets that from. He won't want to fail, so he's gonna stick it out, put up with Hope and her absurd stipulations. I don't want to see him get hurt, and you can prevent that from happening, but you have to act now. The closer we get to the wedding, the more trenched he's going to become. Time is of the essence, Steffy. Liam needs you. I need you.
Man: How do you feel about your daughter's performance?
Brooke: I couldn't be prouder.
Ridge: She's definitely a pro. I think you'd all agree.
Woman: Oh, yes, we do.
Woman: I have a question, Hope.
Woman: When in the world are you going to find time to get married?
Hope: Oh, don't you worry about it. My mom and I are already working on planning it.
Woman: When and where?
Hope: Uh, that's confidential, Danica, just for now.
Man: Where's your fiancé?
Hope: Um, I-I guess he stepped out.
Woman: Ridge, do you feel that Forrester will be able to meet the demand...
Liam: (Sighs) (Sighs)
Steffy: An engagement should be the happiest time of your life. What she's doing, Liam, what Hope is doing to you is not fair.
Steffy: I've given Liam every opportunity to show me that he cares. But he has stayed committed and loyal to Hope, Bill.
Bill: Don't give up.
Steffy: What am I gonna do, throw myself at him?
Bill: I'm not suggesting you do. Just be there for him.
Steffy: I have been. We're friends, very good friends.
Bill: Isn't that beautiful? The best relationships start that way.
Steffy: We have a relationship, but we don't have a romance.
Bill: Doesn't mean it can't blossom into one.
Steffy: Liam is committed to Hope.
Bill: Liam is obsessed with Hope, but Hope is not obsessed with him. She's going around talking to the press about how she's making him wait. It is emasculating, and I don't want that for my son.
Steffy: Oh, so you're using me again. There's a familiar story.
Bill: You--I didn't use you. And don't play the victim card. It doesn't suit you. I want Liam's happiness, and you want Liam's happiness. If that isn't right, I'll say no more.
Steffy: What if Liam doesn't want me the way I want him?
Bill: That isn't the case
Steffy: How do you know?
Bill: Because I know how he talks about you. Look, you have many positive attributes. You are a beautiful, sensual woman, and that alone could turn Liam's head. But there's more. You are a sophisticated, mature woman. You challenge a man. That's very attractive. Hope--Hope is caught up in fame and stardom. You're a woman looking for a grown-up relationship, not a trophy to cart around on press junkets. I don't want that for my son.
Steffy: (Sighs) Oh, my God. Liam saved my life. And I'm gonna save his life. I could--I could make him smile. I can make him laugh. I know I can do that. But only if Liam lets me.
Bill: He will let you. You're the best thing to ever happen to him, I'm certain of it. Don't let go of that. If you do, you'll regret it. And Liam will regret it even more.
Man: Can you give us any details about your next tour-- when, what countries?
Hope: Uh, yeah, I--yeah. You know what? Could you excuse me for just one second, please?
Hope: Thank you. Oliver, hey, hey, hey. Um, have you seen Liam anywhere?
Oliver: Not since the presentation. He was standing in the back by the door.
Hope: That's so weird. I-I don't get it. He said he wanted to be with me after the press conference.
Ridge: I'm sure he's around somewhere.
Brooke: Maybe he just stepped out for some air. You've been really busy.
Hope: Yeah. Yeah. I'm sorry, Mom, do you think you could look for him?
Brooke: Yeah. Sure.
Hope: Yeah? Okay. Thank you. Thank you. Okay, Marco, I'm so sorry.
Marco: Oh, no worries.
Hope: Uh, where were we?
Justin: Hey, are you busy?
Bill: What's up?
Justin: I hate to keep harping on his, but we're still waiting on Liam's piece for the next issue.
Bill: Yeah, I know, Justin. I know. You saw me ream him out right in front of you.
Justin: Yeah. Is everything okay?
Bill: I'm concerned about Liam, his relationship with Hope.
Justin: Ah. So that's what distracting him.
Bill: (Laughs) It's more than a distraction.
Justin: Those two having problems?
Bill: Nope. Only my son.
Justin: Okay, so do you want to talk about it?
Bill: There's nothing to talk about. That's the problem. There is nothing going on between them, and you know what I mean by nothing.
Justin: Okay. Nothing's going on. I get it. But is that--does it have anything to do with what she's telling the media? Because the interns and the secretaries, that's all they're talking about.
Bill: Oh, you gotta be kidding me.
Bill: Beautiful. My son's being made a fool of.
Justin: Okay, Bill, so what do you want to do?
Bill: (Sighs) I'm not going to do anything. She is.
Justin: What's this?
Bill: A surveillance camera I had set up at the cliff house.
Justin: Okay. Who's this driving up in the car?
Bill: The answer to my son's frustrations.
Justin: Steffy Forrester?
Bill: If Hope can't give Liam what he needs, she can.
Hope: Hi, it's Hope. Leave a message, and I will call you back. (Beep)
Liam: Hey. It's me. Uh... I'm sure you're at the press conference still. I just, um... really wanted to see you tonight. So... (Scoffs) (Hangs up phone) (Sighs)
Hope: I have already told you, Jarrett, that Liam is very supportive of me and everything that Hope for the Future stands for.
Jarrett: Then where is young Spencer? He was here earlier.
Hope: Yeah, uh, you know what? I'm--I'm not sure. (Laughs nervously) Hey, Mom, did you find him?
Brooke: Uh, no.
Ridge: All right, everyone, that's enough questions for today. Thank you all for coming.
Brooke: Thank you. (Sighs)
Ridge: Thank you.
Brooke: Hey. Are you okay?
Hope: Yeah. Yeah. I just--I wish I knew where Liam was.
Steffy: Waiting until after you're married is very honorable... as long as the couple is in agreement, and you and Hope aren't. You know, she's dictating. Is that what you want?
Liam: Oh, you are right in time. You have no idea how--
Steffy: Liam, you need a woman tonight, a companion, and I'm here for you. I'm not gonna let you suffer another night alone. Tonight... is ours.
