(Cell phone rings)

Hope: Hey. Miss me already?

Liam: Like crazy. Hey, do you-- do you want to come over to my place after the press conference? I can make you a home-cooked meal.

Hope: (Sighs) I would love that if I weren't so tired. (Chuckles)

Liam: Jet lag?

Hope: Brutal. All I want to do is get in bed.

Liam: (Sighs) (Quietly) Yeah, that works for me.

Hope: What?

Liam: (Normal voice) What?

Hope: Uh, why--why don't we have dinner up at the sky lounge?

Liam: The sky lounge? Uh, yeah. How--how private.

Hope: I know. I know. But I mean, the way my schedule looks right now, I don't think I'm gonna be able to get away from the office.

Liam: Yeah, I'm pretty swamped, too.

Hope: You're coming to my presentation, though, right.

Liam: Of course. I want to see you.

Hope: (Sighs) I know. This is terrible. We're both so busy. I feel like we're not gonna have any alone time until the honeymoon.

Liam: Don't worry. We'll find a way.

Hope: Hey, you're the new editor of "Eye on Fashion." Why don't you assign yourself to my campaign?

Liam: I know. Yeah. The thing about being the editor is you have to write this letter-- oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Hey, uh, Hope, uh, I'm so sorry. I'm gonna have to call you back. I-I'm late for a meeting. Dad is gonna kill me.

(Elevator bell dings)

Liam: Um, so I'll-- I'll see you at the press conference. I love you.

Hope: I love you, too. Bye.

Steffy: That's the best you can do? Your fiancé wants to spend time with you and you invite him to your presentation. Nice.

Justin: Leave you two alone for a few minutes...

Bill: You're late.

Justin: Complaining? Besides, you can't do anything without Liam, and he's not here yet. Neither is his letter from the editor.

Katie: What?

Bill: It's not in yet?

Justin: We can't hold up publication much longer.

Bill: You've gotta be kidding me, man.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Hillary, find my son. Tell him to get his butt in here.

Liam: I'm here. I'm here. Hey, I'm here.

Bill: (Sighs) You forgot.

Liam: I was distracted.

Bill: Let me guess by what. Or should I saw whom? It's Hope, isn't it?

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: I'm really busy. Can we do this later?

Steffy: Uh, do what?

Hope: Argue.

Steffy: Wait. I was actually looking for my dad.

Hope: Oh, uh, well, he and my mom left after you stormed out of the meeting.

Steffy: Oh, well, you know what? I didn't feel like sticking around if we were just gonna keep on talking about you and Liam.

Hope: Really? 'Cause it seems to me you enjoy talking about me and Liam. I mean, what was it you just said? "Is that the best I can do for him?" Or something like that?

Steffy: Well, is it?

Hope: What I do for Liam is none of your business, and I really don't appreciate your commentary on the subject.

Steffy: Did I even say anything?

Hope: Just don't.

Steffy: Okay, there you go feeling uncomfortable again. You don't want to talk about it. This whole subject is off limits.

Hope: Yeah, to you.

Steffy: Okay, what about Liam? Do you even care about how he's feeling? Or is that just beside the point? No, no, you have a statement to make, and Liam better go along with it. Well, that's not fair to him, and Liam does not deserve to be treated that way.

Brooke: Neither does my daughter. Steffy, it's time for you to back off.

Bill: You think I need you to tell me that we're behind schedule? Just hold it until I say it's ready.

Liam: That was for me, wasn't it?

Justin: You put your dad in a pretty tough spot.

Liam: (Sighs)

Katie: Look, he wouldn't have given you this position if he didn't think you could handle it.

Liam: I can handle it. I can. I've just--I've been...

Bill: You've gotta be kidding me.

Liam: I'll do better.

Bill: All right, well, get back to me when you have that information. Where's the letter?

Liam: Uh, the letter. It's--it's--it's comin'. It's on its way. It's just--

Bill: What--what do you mean, it's--it's coming? It's on its way? It should have been ready yesterday, Liam. We can't go to print with "Eye on Fashion" until it is in. You also had all morning.

Liam: I know. I was at Forrester, okay, Dad? Hope's plane just came in from--

Bill: Oh, Hope's plane just came--are you kidding me? At least she was focused on work, like you should have been. Look, I know you have a lot on your plate. But I expect you to step up. Katie, Justin, uh, the meeting is obviously postponed, all right? I need a few minutes alone with my son.

Justin: Right.

Liam: Uh, uh...

Bill: All right, let's have it. What the hell's going on with you?

Liam: (Sighs)

Brooke: I have complete faith in you and Liam. I just want Steffy to understand.

Hope: But, Mom, don't worry about it, okay? Whatever Steffy tries to pull, I'm not going to let it affect me or Liam, and you shouldn't let it affect you.

Steffy: Attagirl, Hope. You hear that, Brooke? Look who needs to back off now.

Hope: (Scoffs)

Brooke: When it comes to my daughter's personal decisions, you do.

Steffy: Personal decisions? This is public knowledge. And I'm sure hope's gonna talk about it today at her presentation. And how do you think Liam's gonna feel? While you're standing up there, and he's in the background, and you're telling everyone that your fiancé has to wait until the wedding night?

Hope: Liam understands how important it is to me to stand up for what I believe in, so I think he'll be proud of me.

Steffy: You know what? I-I'm sure he'll tell the press that. But don't kid yourself. Deep down, it's killing him.

Hope: I don't think so. I think it's killing you, Steffy, knowing that your tricks aren't gonna work on a man like Liam. God, you--you want him so bad, but you're not gonna get him, and you are not gonna use my decision to drive us apart. Face it, Steffy. Liam and I are happier than we've ever been.

Bill: What's going on with you, Liam? I thought you wanted this job-- editor of "Eye on Fashion." It's a big deal.

Liam: I know. I know. I-I'll get you the letter.

Bill: No, don't tell me what you're going to do. Just do it.

Liam: Okay.

Bill: Wait. If something's wrong, I want to hear about it.

Liam: No, I'll be fine.

Bill: Is it the wedding? The plans? I know that can be stressful.

Liam: No, no, Hope and her mom are dealing with that. It's--it's--it's under control. It's gonna be a while, like a few months, so--

Bill: All right, whatever. When it happens, it happens.

Liam: Yeah, it's not that simple.

Bill: Liam, let--let Hope and her--and her mother worry about that. Women love planning weddings. They're genetically programmed to do that. You focus on your work.

Liam: I'm trying.

Bill: Try harder.

Liam: You want to know the truth? The truth is that work is the only thing I have to focus on.

Bill: Okay. We were having a failure to communicate. You're still not having sex, right?

Liam: Not until the wedding. That's the commitment.

Bill: You said you were okay with that.

Liam: Yeah, I'm-- yeah, I'm fine with it. I'm fine. It's, uh, I'll handle it. It's gonna be harder than I thought, but, you know, everything's--everything will work out. I'm fine.

Bill: You're not getting your work done, Liam.

Liam: I'll get you the letter today.

Bill: After you go to Hope's presentation? You told her you'd be there, didn't you?

Liam: Well, she invited me, and I wanted to be supportive, so I said I'd come.

Bill: All right, look. You--you can't say yes to everything...

Liam: (Sighs)

Bill: Just because you want to be a good guy.

Liam: I hear you.

Bill: You have to think things through. Be realistic. Determine exactly how much stress you can take.

Liam: Dad, I-I-I-I know. I-I can handle it.

Bill: Have you been sleeping?

Liam: Uh, you know, I've had a lot on my mind lately, work and everything.

Bill: But work hasn't been on your mind.

Liam: I've had a little bit of trouble focusing.

Bill: Yeah, I can see that.

Liam: I'll get it together. You know, I'll be fine. I just--I've never been in this situation before. I mean, you should see me. I'm all over the place. It's like, I'm working, and them my phone'll start buzzing, and, you know, I'll think, oh, hey, maybe it's-- it's Hope, you know? Maybe she wants to se me. Maybe she wants to come over--

Bill: Maybe she's changed her mind.

Liam: Exactly. It's like I'm-- it's like I'm starving, you know? Like I need to see her, I need to be with her, I-I... (clears throat) and, you know, she feels great about her decision, 'cause it's right for her. I just wish I could make her understand... uh, not-- there's nothing wrong with Hope. I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm--I'm--I'm good. I am happy. I'm... (sighs) I'm really happy.

Hope: (Sighs) I am so happy, Mom.

Brooke: So am I, now that Steffy's gone.

Hope: Yeah, well, that, and I'm just happy about my life right now.

Brooke: You're really not letting her get to you?

Hope: No, no. That's what Steffy wants. She wants to cause trouble and get everyone all riled up. And, you know, if she sees it's not working, then she'll stop. Like today. She couldn't start a fight, so she left.

Brooke: You are so smart.

Hope: I-I-it's just not the first time I've had to deal with Steffy's interference.

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm sorry, sweetheart. This should be the most incredible time of your life. You're in love. You're engaged. You're planning a wedding. Your line is a huge hit.

Hope: And I am enjoying every minute of it. And thank you for your support.

Brooke: Not that you need it.

Hope: No, I do. I do need it right now, and so does Liam.

Brooke: So Liam's still all okay with all of this?

Hope: He is... wonderful, incredibly supportive, and understanding. But he--he also has one of the hottest women in L.A. telling him he'd be crazy to marry me.

Brooke: But he's not listening.

Hope: No. No, he's not. But I know a lot of guys would, and if--if Liam were one of those guys, then he wouldn't be right for me. But he is right for me. He's--he's the man I'm gonna spend the rest of my life with, and there's nothing that anybody can do or say to change the way we feel about each other.

Bill: Son, Hope’s making you miserable. You have to tell her.

Liam: I'm not miserable. I'm not mis--I'm not miserable. I--weren't you just listening to what I just said?

Bill: Oh, yeah, I heard every word.

Liam: I-I just told you I'm happy.

Bill: You also told me you'd have the letter from the editor in on time.

Liam: Look, I was almost finished with that when Hope's plane landed. I-- I-I hadn't seen her in a week. Come on.

Bill: And what'd you do during that week? Did you throw yourself into your work?

Liam: Dad, that is how you handle things.

Bill: You're a Spencer. It's how we handle things. We take action. This is a problem between you and Hope, and you've gotta tell her. And if you don't tell her, this is going to keep rearing its ugly head throughout your marriage.

Liam: You sound like Steffy.

Bill: You told Steffy about this?

Liam: Yeah, I mean, we're... friends, so...

Bill: Right. Okay, uh, you are in a world of trouble, son. You say you can handle this thing between you and Hope? It's not a problem? I'm telling you it is a problem. You're not focused on your work. You're droppin' the ball, and now I know why. You don't want to put any pressure on your fiancée. Well, how about the pressure it's putting on you? You're not going to want to hear this, but I had issues with this relationship from the beginning. I didn't feel that Hope was mature enough for a man like you. You said you were happy.

Liam: Yeah, I'm happy, okay? She--Hope makes me happy, and I'm willing to wait if that's what she wants. But you need something from me, too and I haven't given that to you. And you have every right to be angry with me, but just d-don't take it out on Hope.

Hope: (Giggles)

Liam: (Laughs) You look amazing.

Hope: (Sighs) Thank you. You like my--my dress?

Liam: I hadn't noticed the dress.

Hope: (Laughs) Well, uh, it's-- it's from my collection.

Liam: (Sighs)

Hope: I thought I would give them a little sneak peek.

Liam: So how long is, uh, is this thing gonna take? I mean, you said you might, um, af--have some time afterwards...

(Knock on door)

Liam: To--

Hope: Oh, yeah?

Madison: Hi. I have the final copy for the press release.

Hope: Oh, oh, great, great. Did you move Jackson to the--the front?

Madison: I did. He wanted a quote from you before the presentation,

Hope: (Laughs) Of course he did. Blah, blah, blah.

Hope: Okay, all right, great. Thank you, um, and, yeah, just let 'em know that I'll be in soon, okay? Hey.

Liam: Yeah. Hey.

Hope: I thought I was the one who was supposed to be stressed out.

Liam: (Laughs) You're gonna be great.

Hope: Mm. So how much trouble did you get in? On the phone, you said your dad was gonna kill you.

Liam: Oh, well, he didn't. (Chuckles)

Hope: (Chuckles) Good. So is everything all right?

Liam: It's gonna be.

Hope: Yeah?

Liam: Yeah.

Hope: Yeah? Well, anything I can do to help?

Liam: Um, you know what? (Laughs) No, I don't--I don't think we should get carried away.

Hope: You know, Steffy, uh, she's says I'm--I'm killing you, that making you wait is some kind of cruel and unusual punishment.

Liam: (Chuckles) You're not making me do anything. I'm--I'm, um, you asked me to support your decision, and I do.

Hope: I know it's not easy, though.

Liam: You should take it as a compliment.

Hope: I do. I do take it as a compliment, and I am so grateful and so thankful that you are willing to do this for me.

Liam: Well, I love you.

Hope: And I love you, too. And when we're married, I'm going to show you exactly how much as often as I can.

Liam: I can't wait. I mean, I ca--I'm--I mean--

Hope: No, yeah, no, I-I know.

Liam: (Sighs) (Chuckles)

(Knock on door)

(Door opens)

Steffy: Don't panic. I'm not here to see you.

Bill: Do I look panicked?

Steffy: Actually, Hillary said Liam might be in here, so...

Bill: He's at Forrester.

Steffy: Yeah, Hope's press conference.

Bill: Aren't you involved in that?

Steffy: Not if I can help it, but if that's where I can find him, then I'm... You look stressed out.

Bill: We're behind schedule.

Steffy: Wait, you are never behind schedule.

Bill: Well, we are now. I made my son editor of "Eye on Fashion."

Steffy: Okay. Liam's messing up, and you don't know why.

Bill: Oh, I know why, and apparently, so do you.

Steffy: Mm. Yes, Hope's torturing him.

Bill: Well, he didn't use those words.

Steffy: You know, he wouldn't. But you know me. I speak the truth.

Bill: And you throw a pretty good right, too.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Bill: I imagine you still have some things you'd like to say to me.

Steffy: No. Not anymore. I've moved on.

Bill: You're interested in my son.

Steffy: What, did Liam tell you that?

Bill: He said you were friends. He also said that you have issues with his engagement.

Steffy: No, no, no, no. I have issues with the way his fiancée is treating him.

Bill: So do I.

Steffy: Well, she's driving him crazy.

Bill: It's becoming a problem.

Steffy: Well, the wedding is months away, and it's only going to get worse.

Bill: I need my son focused, on top of his game but all he can think about is Hope.

Steffy: And you know what? That's what she wants. You know, Liam is just so amped up he doesn't even realize that she's manipulating him, and she's controlling him, and Liam doesn't deserve that.

Bill: No, he doesn't.

Steffy: You know, he proposed to her on the runway. He showed the whole world how much he loves her, but yet, she announces that they're not having sex. What, is--is commitment not good enough? No, he says it doesn't bother him, and he doesn't feel insulted, but you know what? It is insulting, and it's humiliating. Liam deserves a woman who has the same kind of passion that he does.

Bill: And you'd like to be that woman. Here's to making that happen.
