Singer: If you show what you got then you get what you want stop bein' a good girl
Liam: Uh, what are you doing here?
Steffy: Checking up on you.
Liam: Okay, well, I'm fine. I-I was just working on your Intimates campaign. So...
Steffy: So is the video inspiring you?
Singer: When you show what you got then you get what you want
Hope: (Sighs) It's perfect. I love it. I love everything about it-- the--the design, the fit. Thank you so much.
Eric: (Chuckles) Oh, the pleasure's all mine. Believe me.
Hope: (Sighs) I can't wait for Liam to see me in this dress. And then--and then, in only three months, we'll be married. Um... (Sighs) do you think that three months is a long time?
Liam: Yeah, I-I am actually getting some pretty good ideas for your campaign.
Steffy: I'm glad.
Liam: What's in the bag?
Steffy: Oh, um, dinner. I figured you'd be hungry.
Liam: I am so hungry.
Steffy: I can imagine. You know, Hope shouldn't have left for Paris, not today, not with you feelin' this way.
Jackie: (Sighs) (Scoffs) (Sighs) Hi.
Owen: Hey. Mwah. Hi.
Owen: Hmm. The competition, hmm?
Jackie: Steffy Forrester and Hope Logan.
Owen: Mm. Just a couple of kids.
Jackie: Yeah, a couple of very powerful young women. (Scoffs) And then there's me.
Dr. Maponya: How are you feeling?
Katie: I'm feeling wonderful, Doctor.
Dr. Maponya: You had a close call, Katie. If Bill hadn't been there when you collapsed--
Katie: I know. He saved my life
Dr. Maponya: And at the hospital, he recommitted to your marriage. It was quite dramatic.
Katie: I guess I'm not your ordinary heart patient.
Dr. Maponya: (Chuckles) Anything but. (Chuckles)
Justin: Katie still inside with the doctor?
Bill: Hey. Yeah.
(Elevator bell dings)
Bill: She's getting a clean bill of health.
Justin: Well, you must be relieved.
Bill: That's an understatement.
Bill: We owe a lot to Dr. Maponya.
Justin: Dr. Maponya?
Bill: Yeah, she's visiting from South Africa.
Hope: Liam would really like to get married sooner.
Eric: A fiancÚ that's, uh, that's enthusiastic? I think that's encouraging.
Hope: (Sighs) Yeah.
Eric: Why? You seem troubled.
Hope: (Sighs) Well, you remember what I said at the press conference?
Eric: About waiting till you get married? Yeah. I think that's commendable.
Hope: Mm. (Sighs) It's just, um, it's really hard sometimes.
Eric: It seems to me there would be a lot of kids out there who, uh... who would agree with you, if they had the courage.
Eric: Is this causing a problem for you?
Hope: Oh... it's really difficult for Liam. Um... but, you know, he understands.
Steffy: You really know how to use those chopsticks, hmm?
Liam: Well, you know, you start out with a pair of tweezers and you work your way up. That's the trick, yeah.
Steffy: Yeah, I can tell. I can tell. (Chuckles) You know, you're gonna have to do something, Liam.
Liam: About what?
Steffy: Well, absence makes the heart grow fonder, but abstinence may not.
Liam: Look, for Hope, it's a really deal, and she wants to wait, so...
Steffy: Well, yeah, you know, my mom says waiting until after you're married is--is very honorable, as long as the couple is in agreement, and you and Hope aren't. You know, she's dictating. Is that what you want? 'Cause that's what you got.
Dr. Maponya: I referred you to another cardiologist. I e-mailed you all the information.
Katie: All right, yeah. That--that means you're leaving tonight, right?
Dr. Maponya: I am.
Katie: So you're going back home to your family?
Dr. Maponya: My work is my family.
Katie: Well, we should do something about that. Thank you so much for everything.
Dr. Maponya: You're welcome.
Bill: Yeah, uh, get ahold of Rudy in the customs office. Find out why our shipments from Singapore are being delayed.
(Elevator bell dings)
Justin: Oh, yeah, yeah. No, I'm sorry.
Bill: You all right?
Justin: No, I'm good. I-I'll make sure we take are of everything that needs to be taken care of.
Bill: Please do.
Bill: Tell Katie I'll be down in sales.
(Elevator bell dings)
Liam: Well, I'd better get back to work.
Steffy: Your client says it can wait until morning.
Liam: Mm. I'm pretty exhausted.
Steffy: What's wrong with your neck?
Liam: Uh, I don't know. Stress? I guess I store it in my shoulders.
Steffy: That's the same with my dad. You know, I could-- I could help you with that.
Liam: Yeah, I'll bet you can.
Steffy: Don't be silly. Here.
Liam: Um, uh, Steffy, what are you doing?
Steffy: Relax. I've been giving massages since I was a kid. Granted, it was my dad. But you know what? I am an expert.
Liam: (Scoffs) Okay
Steffy: Here. Give me your shirt.
Liam: Well, you know what? Knock yourself out.
Steffy: Okay. Sit...
Steffy: Down. Get this going. Ah.
Steffy: Move your legs.
Steffy: (Grunts) Okay, and sit forward.
Liam: All right. Sitting forward.
Liam: (Chuckles) Aah! Aah! Okay.
Steffy: Ooh, yeah.
Steffy: I can feel that's a nasty knot.
Liam: Mm-hmm. So you used to do this for your dad, huh?
Steffy: What? No! Not--oh, my God. Not like that, you c--
Liam: Steff--Steffy, I'm messing with you. I'm sure it was a great memory.
Steffy: Yeah, it is. I don't have a lot of good memories with my dad. He was just in and out of my life so much. You think that's why I'm so messed up?
Liam: I don't think you're messed up at all.
Steffy: I'm like anyone else. You know, we all have challenges... just--things we wish that were different, don't we, Liam?
(Cell phone rings)
Liam: How was the press conference?
Hope: It was amazing. What are you doing right now?
Liam: Uh, I'm at home.
Hope: Oh, at the beach house all by yourself-- poor baby. I wish I was there with you.
Liam: Yeah, me, too.
Hope: So... guess what I'm wearing right now.
Liam: Um, I...
Hope: I'll give you a hint. Uh, my grandfather made it for me, and I'm only going to wear it once on our wedding day.
Liam: He made you a wedding dress?
Hope: Yes, he did. Liam, it is so beautiful. I can't wait for you to see me in it. Only three more months.
Hope: Well, listen, uh, I-it's late there, I know, so I-I should let you go, but I'll call you in the morning, okay? (Sighs)
Liam: Yeah, I can't wait.
Hope: You are the only man that I will ever love.
Owen: They are beautiful. But women their age have got a living to do, but they're never gonna have anything close to what you have.
Jackie: You're sweet.
Owen: I'm right. No, youth is 10% physical, 90% attitude. You've got that attitude, Jackie. You're as young as anyone I've ever known. You always will be. It's got nothing to do with age. You want to be as young as them? I don't want that for you, because I adore you exactly the way you are.
Jackie: I adore you, too. Thank you.
(Knock on door)
Dr. Maponya: Justin?
Justin: (Sighs) I can't believe it's you.
Dr. Maponya: It's been a very long time.
Justin: It has been. Since I was at the office in Cape Town. Were you gonna call me, let me know you were in town?
Dr. Maponya: I heard you were married.
Justin: Mm. So when are you leaving?
Dr. Maponya: Tonight.
Justin: Why don't you stay for a few days?
Dr. Maponya: That... wouldn't be a good idea.
Justin: I see.
Dr. Maponya: Good-bye, Justin. Nice to see you again.
(Knock on door)
Donna: Justin? Oh, Dr. Maponya. I-I-I am so glad I saw you before you left. Um, I-I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing such an extraordinary job for my sister.
Dr. Maponya: I'm sure her husband has a lot to do with it.
Donna: Maybe, but thank you.
Dr. Maponya: My pleasure.
Donna: Anyway, um, have a-- have a wonderful trip back.
Dr. Maponya: (Sighs) Take care, Justin. You, too, Donna.
Donna: It's good to see you. You know her?
Justin: Yeah, I, uh, met her at the office in South Africa. She's a remarkable woman doin' some great things.
Donna: Well, I wish I had gotten to know her better. Hmm, small world, huh?
Justin: Yeah. Mm.
Donna: Come here. I missed you. (Sighs) Mm.
Liam: Thank you.
Steffy: For what?
Liam: For not asking me about that phone call.
Liam: (Chuckles) Aren't you getting tired?
Steffy: Not a chance... not if I had this for the rest of my life.
Liam: You know there's a guy out there for you, Steffy.
Steffy: Really? He's gonna sweep me off my feet?
Liam: Hey, I'm surprised he hasn't done it already.
Steffy: Well, maybe he has.
Liam: What are you looking for, really?
Steffy: Not what I was looking for a few weeks ago with you-know-who.
Steffy: That changed me. I just want something real-- run-of-the-mill soul mate, someone I can do nothing with and just hang with and--and listen to music with. And nothing else matters, because nothing would matter.
Liam: I want that, too.
Steffy: And you deserve that. You deserve someone who's gonna love you unconditionally.
Liam: (Chuckles) Unconditionally? I don't know. I mean, maybe between a parent and child, but two adults? There's always conditions, aren't there?
Steffy: That isn't love, you know, not the kind that I want anyway.
Liam: Well, yeah, but people have differences, Steffy. I mean, we're not all the same.
Steffy: But I would-- I would respect that. And I'd probably love him even more because of our differences.
Liam: Yeah, that's what I'm trying to do with Hope. (Chuckles)
Steffy: But she has to accept you. If she loves you, then she will be sensitive to what you're feeling and going through. But I'm not sure she is.
Hope: (Sighs) I, Hope, take you, Liam, to be my wedded husband... (Sighs) to have and to hold from this day forward. (Sighs)
Steffy: I am not ragging on Hope. She is who she is. She has her convictions, and she wants to live up to them.
Liam: Yeah. That's what I respect about her.
Steffy: I know. So do I. We may not share them, but people should have strong beliefs and values. That is a good thing. I just worry about you.
Liam: (Sighs) Steffy, I-I don't believe that Hope is trying to control me.
Steffy: Well, I see a lot of warning signs.
Steffy: (Sighs) No, I-I'm sorry. I-I don't want to upset you. I just care about you, all right, your happiness. It's the truth.
Liam: I'm okay.
Steffy: Are you sure?
Liam: Yes. Yeah. Hope and I are at different places on this, but it doesn't change the way I feel about her. It's three months. It's not an eternity.
Steffy: How are you so confident that a ring and a ceremony is gonna change everything?
Liam: Because it's sacred to her, Steffy. I mean, marriage to her-- that--that means more than just a commitment between the two of us.
Steffy: It's just a piece of paper and a few words. It's not that sacred. I guess it could be, you know, socially acceptable. But what, you're gonna be miserable until she puts on the dress and becomes some virginal bride?
Liam: Yeah, don't know, Steffy. It--it's her dream. I mean, it's her-- this is the way that she's imagined it since she was a little girl.
Steffy: So what happens? You guys get married, and things don't work out. What if she doesn't like it?
Liam: (Chuckles) That's not gonna happen.
Steffy: You don't know that. But you should.
Liam: Look, come on. I mean, waiting for marriage, that's--that's traditional.
Steffy: Yeah, that's kind of more like dark ages.
Liam: O-okay, not for everyone.
Liam: I mean, it's--granted, it's not the way that you would do it.
Steffy: Or you, if you had a choice.
Liam: You know, on the phone, Hope told me that I was the only man that she'd ever love. I mean, there you go. That's how I feel.
Steffy: Oh, she's a fairy princess who has her handsome prince. But she doesn't know what it's like to be a woman. And, Liam, you need a woman.
Liam: Steffy, I need Hope. I've never felt this way about anyone I asked her to marry me. She said yes. We're gonna spend the rest of our lives together. I mean, when I think of it that way, three months doesn't seem so long anymore. The girl wants to wait? I wait.
