Steffy: You think that's smart-- Bill's gonna go back to a woman he doesn't really love out of guilt and pity?
Hope: That's not why he went back.
Steffy: Oh, come on. (Scoffs)
Hope: Bill may have had a thing for you, but he is in love with my aunt Katie.
Steffy: Well, we'll see how long that lasts before he's bored to death.
Liam: Okay. Obviously, choosing the cover of the magazine is not the most important decision you make today.
Liam: You want to talk about?
Brooke: (Sighs) We are so lucky.
Ridge: Yes, we are. I can tell you're thinking about Katie.
Brooke: (Sighs) Sorry. I can't help it.
Ridge: It's understandable. You're worried about your sister.
Brooke: A heart attack with her history...
Ridge: But she is out of the hospital, right? She's back home?
Brooke: Yes. But she was arguing with Bill about your daughter.
Ridge: Look, why are we talking about this now? It's over between Bill and Steffy.
Brooke: Are you sure?
Ridge: You're not?
Brooke: I don't trust either one of them. (Sighs)
Ridge: Have I told you recently how absolutely gorgeous you are?
Brooke: You're changing the subject.
Ridge: Just go with me on this. Hang with me here. Your cute nose... your absolutely brilliant eyes... your sexy, pouty mouth...
Brooke: (Sighs) You're trying to distract me.
Ridge: Is it working?
Brooke: Yes. You can always distract me. (Sighs) But I can't stop worrying about my sister.
(Cell phone alert chimes)
Brooke: (Giggles) Oh, it's Donna. She's just checking in. She's gonna stay with Katie till Bill gets home, making sure she stays off her feet-- doctor's orders.
Ridge: There wouldn't even be doctor's orders if it wasn't for Spencer. (Sighs) He's the reason Katie had a heart attack. He broke your sister's heart, and he used my daughter to do it.
Ridge: He took advantage of Steffy, and he's still doing it.
Brooke: She believes that Bill is home to stay, that he really does want to save his marriage.
Ridge: I don't want Bill Spencer anywhere near her, now or ever. God, the promises he made-- I mean, Steffy had them practically married and living happily ever after. She trusted him completely. (Sighs) I'm just really afraid of how she's gonna handle it when he ultimately lets her down.
Liam: Dad, I-I understand how hard this is for you. I mean, you've got two women who are in love with you, both of whom you're-- you're crazy about, but you can't have it both ways.
Liam: I mean, you have to make a decision-- your wife or Steffy.
Hope: So you're not denying it. Bill's left and gone to his wife.
Steffy: Do you see him here?!
Hope: So it's true.
Steffy: You mean, you came here to gloat, and you don't even know the facts?
Hope: No, I'm not gloating. I just hoping that this is a wake-up call for you. Steffy, you've been after Bill for a while now, and whether it was because you had feelings for him or it was part of your-- your never-ending vendetta--
Steffy: Oh, my God! Here we go! Oh, my God.
Hope: What am I supposed to think, Steffy? That's how it always is for you, Logan versus Forrester, and what better way to strike back at my family than to make a play for him?
Steffy: Oh, no, you would. No, you would think that, wouldn't you, Hope?
Hope: Look, I don't know. I don't know, Steffy. I don't know if this was motivated by love or by vengeance, but for everyone's sake, stay away.
Steffy: Who says I should stay away, Hope?
Hope: I do.
Steffy: Are you warning me to stay away from Bill?
Hope: He's returned to his wife, and I think you should respect their marriage.
Steffy: Oh, my God. Your mother has interfered in my parents' marriage so many times! But, no, I am supposed to be the sweet good girl, not cause Katie any problem.
Hope: Right there-- this is what I'm talking about, Steffy. It is always this rivalry with you. Can we not have it go down another generation? I know that our moms have been at odds forever, but it doesn't have to be that way for us. We work together. We work for the same family business you and Bill are over, and I think that we can have a fresh start, too.
Steffy: It is not that simple, okay? God, for as long as I can remember, your family has just been attacking mine, and especially your mom. What, she just seduces all the Forrester men-- my--my--my granddad, um, my uncle, my father-- and no, no, no, he is not your father. No, your father is Deacon Sharpe. You're not a Forrester. You don't even belong at Forrester Creations, okay? Okay?!
Hope: Yeah, well, dad doesn't see it that way. He doesn't see it that way at all. He thinks of me as his own daughter.
Hope: And I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I know you really hate hearing that, but, Steffy, he's got enough love in his heart for both of us, and you really need to get over it.
Steffy: Oh, I need to get over it. Okay. Your family has harmed my family so many times. You know what? I am not backing down. It's not happening. No. (Laughs) No.
Hope: I am really sorry that you're hurting, Steffy, but you shouldn't have gotten involved with a married man. What did you expect? Do yourself a favor, and stay away from my boyfriend's family. The Spencers want nothing to do with you.
Steffy: Bill loves me.
Steffy: And we have something special. We have an electricity he and Katie do not have. It's not gonna be that easy for him to forget me. So you can go to Liam. You can tell him that I said that. And then he can pass it on to his dad. Now get out.
Liam: Dad, I--you know, I-I-I see what this is doing to you, and I feel for you. I mean, I really feel for you. But Steffy-- you know, she really believes that you'll never let her down, that--that you'll always be there for her, that you'll--
Bill: Liam, stop... talking. (Sighs)
Liam: Is she wrong? Is Steffy wrong?
Bill: Yes. I'm going back to Katie.
(Knock on door)
Steffy: Why are you here, Dad?
Ridge: You okay, sweetheart?
Steffy: (Sniffles) Your other daughter Hope came by feeling all moral and superior. Yeah, I'm sure you know why. You were right. Bill left. He went back to Katie. Yeah, Hope thinks that's what I deserve, going after a married man. So here I am alone. I just feel so stupid. (Sniffles)
Steffy: (Sniffles) I bet you're relieved, Dad. I know you didn't want me involved with Bill.
Ridge: Sweetheart, no matter how I felt, I know how important that relationship was to you.
Steffy: I'm just still so in love with him.
Ridge: I know. I'm so sorry you've been hurt.
Steffy: Thank you for caring.
Ridge: You are my daughter. When you hurt, I hurt.
Steffy: (Sighs) (Sniffles) God, you know, when he came here, I just--I thought it was to tell me that he ended his marriage and he was gonna star a life with me. You know, for the first brief moments, I-I've never been happier. And then I started to get what he was trying to tell me. (Sobs) And my... (Sniffles) my heart just crashed. (Sniffles) I just--I never thought he would break a promise to me. (Sighs) God. But, um... (Chuckles) I guess his commitment to Katie was stronger than his promise, so... but not his love. (Sniffles) No, no, not his love. That is one thing I-I do not believe. But you know what? You know what I know? I know someday... (Chuckles) he's gonna wake up, and he is--he's gonna know what he did was wrong, that it was a wrong decision. But I'm not gonna be sitting here waiting for him, no, because I am--I am never gonna put myself through this again, ever.
Liam: Dad, what this is gonna do to Steffy-- you know, she--she had her heart set on you guys--
Bill: Yeah, I know what she had her heart set on, Liam. I've already seen her. She's deeply hurt, and I regret it.
Liam: Must have been rough.
Bill: Oh, you could say it was rough. In fact, uh, that would be an understatement. I never wanted to hurt Steffy. It's the last thing I wanted to do but Katie--Katie is my wife, and I have treated her really unfairly. Why are you so worried about Steffy?
Liam: Uh, I don't know. A-aren't you?
Bill: Yeah, I am, but I can't be with two women, and I made a commitment to Katie. You know, I, uh, I gotta hand it to you. You warned me not to get too close to Steffy, that it would lead to trouble, and, uh, you were right.
Bill: But I have reaffirmed my commitment to Katie, and I love her, and I'm sticking to that, end of story.
Bill: I want you to do me a favor. The last thing Steffy wants is to see me. Take this to her.
Ridge: I understand why you want to lash out.
Steffy: I know. I know you say revenge isn't the answer, and that's not how you and mom raised me. And maybe you're right. You warned me to stay away from Bill, and I didn't listen. And please, please don't say "I told you so," because I just-- I can't hear that right now, because I just feel so stupid. I feel like this little girl who... (Sighs) God, I don't know. (Sighs)
Ridge: You'll always be my little girl.
Steffy: Dad, I love you so much.
Ridge: I love you, too. And I will do anything to protect you.
Brooke: Sweetheart, I told you, I thought it would be best if you stayed away from Steffy.
Hope: (Sighs) I know. I know. I know. But I-I have to work with her. I mean, we all do. I just thought it couldn't hurt to try and convince her to not use everything that's happened, you know, as a reason to continue the Forrester-Logan war.
Brooke: Steffy didn't think so?
Hope: No, if you're a Logan, you're he enemy. She's never gonna give up this fight against our family, especially when she's hurting like this.
Bill: Forrester. What took you so long? I'm good, right?
Ridge: I was just with my daughter. Do you even care how much pain she's in right now?
Bill: Of course, I care. I'm not gonna waste my breath explaining that to you, 'cause you don't care what I have to say.
Ridge: You used her, Spencer. You knew she had feelings for you.
Bill: Well, if it means anything to you, it wasn't a one-way street. I fell in love with your daughter.
Ridge: You are married. You should have stayed away from her.
Bill: You'll get no argument from me.
Ridge: You lured her in, made her think there might possibly be a future for the two of you.
Bill: (Sighs) I didn't lure her in. And I meant every word I said at the time.
Ridge: Well, then, you're even more arrogant than I thought.
Bill: Okay. I'm arrogant. Feel free to throw out a few more derogatory adjectives if it makes you feel better. Look, I made a horrendous mistake. I hurt Katie, I hurt Steffy, and they're two amazing women, and I never meant to do that. But you know what? You, of all people, should understand, shouldn't you? You know what it's like to be in love with two women at the same time.
Ridge: The situations are not the same.
Bill: Of course not.
Ridge: Steffy is a very impressionable young woman.
Ridge: You, of all people, should know that when a married man becomes involved with another woman, especially a much younger woman, lives are gonna be ripped apart.
Ridge: Katie almost died, and Steffy--
Bill: All right, enough! I don't need any life lectures from you. I've acknowledged my mistake and the pain that it caused, but I have news for you. Steffy's being torn apart-- you're the cause of that. (Groans) It must run in the family. (Sighs) Nothing like the taste of your own blood to get the adrenaline flowing. You're protecting your daughter, so I'm gonna give you a pass. But it expires in about the next ten seconds, which is just enough time for you to get the hell out of my face.
Ridge: You stay away from Steffy. You've done enough damage. I will never let you hurt her again.
