Bill: I didn't push Amber off that cliff
Katie: But you thought about it.
Bill: I didn't do it.
Katie: But you wanted to. You would've if fate hadn't intervened.
Bill: I don't know.
Katie: So much anger. Storm, let go!
Brooke: Are you all right, honey?
Katie: Yeah, you just, um, you just startled me.
Brooke: What are you doing?
Katie: Just thinking.
Donna: Not about going home, I hope.
Katie: Of course, I am.
Brooke: What? You just got here.
Katie: Isn't there some place else I should be?
Liam: Dad, have you- have you seen these reports?
Bill: I pay you to read report.
Liam: Uh-huh, while you stare out the window and worry about Katie.
Liam: Tell me I'm wrong. Okay, fine. Tell me what happened.
Dayzee: Well, Mr. Big Shot, you didn't see that comin', did you?
Thomas: No, I didn't.
Dayzee: Oh, he made you part owner!
Thomas: 5% owner, actually.
Dayzee: That's good, right?
Thomas: It's amazing. And all this time, I-I thought he wasn't listening.
Dayzee: Well, he was.
Thomas: (Sighs) But he still hasn't ok'd Taboo for women.
Dayzee: (Sighs) I mean, isn't this better, part ownership?
Thomas: That's definitely a show of confidence but Taboo for women is still my dream, and I'm not gonna give up on that.
Dayzee: I know.
Thomas: I've got Brooke and grandpa in my corner. All I need is a little bit more support. Maybe if I can get Steffy on board.
Thomas: She can get through to my grandma, and then my dad will give me the green light.
Dayzee: Okay. A man of true determination. I like that.
Liam: (Sighs) Okay. Something happened with Katie, and she moved out, and you still haven't told me why.
Bill: You've got enough to deal with.
Liam: You can't protect me from everything.
Bill: Apparently, I can't protect you from anything.
Liam: This is about Amber?
Bill: It's not your problem, Liam.
Liam: Well, if it has anything at all to do with me, than it is my--
Bill: It has nothing to do with you. I don't want you involved.
Liam: All right.
Bill: I'm gonna fix it.
Liam: (Scoffs) How?
Bill: No more questions.
Liam: Well, you know, Dad, if you'd start giving me answers, then I wouldn't have to ask you so many questions. I mean, you don't want me to worry? Talk to me. You know, you--you said Steffy wasn't the problem, but suddenly she's back in town, and now Katie's staying over at her sister's? You expect me to believe that's a huge coincidence?
Steffy: Oh, wow. Now that you're part owner, you don't have to work anymore. You can just hang around the office and make out like Brooke used to do, huh?
Thomas: (sighs) Hi, Steffy.
Dayzee: Did you come to congratulate your brother?
Steffy: It seems like he's getting all the congratulations he can handle, huh?
Dayzee: (Clears throat)
Thomas: I think I should probably get back to work.
Dayzee: Yeah. Will see you later?
Thomas: Of course. We'll pick up where we left off.
Thomas: (Sighs) So you heard?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah. Dad told me. Man I’m so happy for you.
Thomas: You mean it?
Steffy: Well, yeah, you-- you held your own against dad. It just shows you how much he respects you.
Thomas: All right, so what about you, Steffy? Any chance you want to give me some support for my women's line?
Thomas: (Groans) Really, that's--that's-- I thought not.
Thomas: (Chuckles) I had to ask, though.
Steffy: You're tenacious. I'll give you that
Steffy: Unlike some people who just run off whining instead of fighting for what they want.
Katie: (Sighs) I just--I want to be sure that I'm doing the right thing.
Donna: You left for a reason, Katie, and that reason hasn't changed.
Katie: No it hasn't.
Brooke: You know what happened?
Donna: You need to tell her, Katie.
Brooke: You said you and Bill were having problems.
Donna: Bill's the one with the problems.
Brooke: What did he do? I just assumed that you two had an argument. Is that all it was?
Katie: Bill has some issues the needs to deal with, and I can't go home until he does.
Liam: (Scoffs) You know, you're shutting me out, Dad.
Bill: For God's sake.
Liam: It's like I ask you about Steffy, and you say she's not the problem. And then you tell me you're doing everything you can to get Katie back, and then I ask you what you're doing, and I get nothing from you.
Bill: There' s only so much I can do Liam.
Liam: Oh, bull, bull. You know what? When you love somebody as much as you love Katie, you--you don't quit until you're back together.
Bill: There are limits.
Liam: Now it doesn't always work, but until you've tried everything... (scoffs) you don't stop.
Bill: She knows I don't respond well to ultimatums, and if she doesn't know it, she sure as hell should.
Liam: Did she really give you an ultimatum? And, is that why you guys aren't together?
Bill: We're at an impasse.
Liam: (Sighs) Yeah, you don't have to tell me how much that sucks.
Bill: I wasn't going to. But you're right. It does.
Donna: You need to tell her the truth, Katie.
Katie: (Sighs) I'm just--I'm trying to put this in context.
Donna: You're trying to sugarcoat it.
Katie: No, no, I'm not. I-I've been thinking about this a lot, and we all make choices in life, and we have to live with the consequences of those choices, right? I've made mistakes, and I don't want to repeat them. And this is really about what I can live with and what I can't. Bill has got to deal with the anger and the violence inside of him, because if he doesn't, it will destroy him.
Brooke: Has Bill been violent with you?
Katie: No, but don't you see? This is exactly what happened with Storm. He had so much anger inside of him, and--and none of us realized how dangerous it was and what did we do? Did we get him help? No. We wanted to protect him, but we didn't. We wanted to do the right thing, but we just ignore the problem. And the only thing our good intentions led to was me getting shot and Storm...
Brooke: You don't think he'd ever harm you?
Katie: (Sighs) No, but I never thought Storm would either.
Brooke: (scoffs) Katie. What happened to Storm was an accident. He gave up his life to make up for it.
Katie: Yeah, I know. I am well aware of that. That is a reality that I will never, ever be able to escape. Every day I wake up with the knowledge that our brother, whom I loved more than anything in the world, put a gun to his head and... (sobs) We called him "Storm" because he had so much rage inside of him, and it killed him. And if I could go back and just do one thing over again, just one thing, I would never protect him the way we did. I would make him take responsibility for his actions. I mean, we all thought that prison was the worst thing that could happen to him, but we were wrong, because at least he'd still be here. Maybe he would have gotten the help he needed. I don't know. I should have insisted on it maybe it wouldn't have changed anything, but I should have tried.
Donna: Katie, what--no. Storm, he--he didn't change until the end, okay, after he saw what Stephanie was doing to our family.
Katie: No, no, you're wrong. You're wrong. It happened way before that. You weren't there. I was. He... he was so angry with dad for leaving, and he was so angry about the sacrifices that he had to make because of it, and he tried to control it, but then something would happen at work, some injustice that he couldn't rectify, and his famous temper would turn into something totally different, something frightening.
Brooke: Honey, you never said anything.
Katie: Because he begged me not to. And I wanted to take care of him the way he'd always taken care of us. I thought if I loved him enough, it would make everything okay. But I was wrong, and I am never gonna make that mistake again. I am never gonna watch someone I love self-destruct. I've asked Bill to get help, to see someone professionally. I told him I would come home if he did. And he refused. And we can't solve this problem if he won't admit that he has one.
Liam: (Scoffs) I mean, I can't do anything about my situation. I'm stuck, but you're not.
Bill: Nobody can turn back the clock, Liam.
Liam: Did you do something you can't un-do?
Bill: Katie and I need to move forward. I'm ready to do that. She isn't.
Liam: Right, the impasse. Okay, w-what if Katie weren't your wife. What--what if this were a business situation, you know? Two parties coming together--
Bill: I wouldn't be in this situation if it were business. I don't negotiate from place of weakness. I set the terms. No counteroffers. I make a fair deal, take it or leave it. No conditions, no concessions. Both parties benefit. Everybody wins.
Liam: Yeah, I-I don't know if take it or leave it is the best strategy.
Bill: Katie is my wife. She loves me. And she hates this as much as I do. She doesn't want to stay with her sister. She wants to come home, and that's exactly what she's going to do.
Steffy: I feel a big headline comin' your way. "Thomas Forrester-- 'my time has come.”
Thomas: (Chuckles) Not bad.
Steffy: (Chuckles) You know, if you want, I could talk to Bill and get you on the cover of "Eye on Fashion."
Thomas: No, thanks.
Steffy: You know, talent isn't enough. It is essential for self-promotion.
Thomas: Says the guru.
Steffy: You know, I'm confident. Do you have a problem with that?
Thomas: (Sighs) Only if your confidence gets you hurt.
Steffy: You mean hurt by Bill Spencer, huh?
Thomas: Steffy, it's inevitable.
Steffy: Like, what if-- what if it's a risk I'm willing to take, all right?
Thomas: Do you really think he's worth it?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, I do. You know, he-- he could have crushed me after what I did to him. You pull one over on Bill Spencer, and he makes you pay, but he didn't do that to me. And that's why, um, I love him.
Steffy: Yeah. That's what I said. (Sighs)
Thomas: (Shudders) Please. No.
Steffy: Oh, God.
Thomas: I was starting to have a good day.
Steffy: Thomas, Bill matters to me, all right? And I hate the way Katie is treating him. He deserves that and I feel that he could do better with me.
Brooke: So everything just came to a head?
Katie: Bill lost control.
Brooke: Not with you.
Katie: No, with Amber. He said that he was protecting his son, but she pushed him to his limit.
Brooke: But nothing happened with Amber. I mean, she-- she did fall off the cliff at your house, but that was an accident.
Katie: Well, kind of. Bill didn't invite her to stay at the house because she needed a place to live. He wanted her to stay there so that he could kill her.
Katie: He was gonna push her off the cliff, but she fell before he had a chance. He had it all planned.
Brooke: Oh, my God, Katie.
Katie: He needs help, Brooke. We lost our brother to violence, and I'm not gong to lose my husband, too. He has got to face his anger or it will destroy everything that's good in our lives.
Bill: Katie, I-- You told them, didn't you? You know what's at stake, and you told them your husband's a monster.
Thomas: What did he do, Steffy? Something with you?
Steffy: Look, what-- what he did isn't important, okay? But, I mean, the way Katie reacted, she just shut him out and turn away from him, I mean... (sighs) you don't do that to somebody that you love, somebody you claim to honor and respect.
Thomas: Okay, so, what, you blame her for their problems?
Steffy: Well, if it ends this marriage, then I'll thank her.
Thomas: Could it? It's that bad?
Steffy: (Sighs) Well, Katie thinks so, and she wants Bill to think so, too. But she can only stay up on that soapbox for so long. Sooner or later, Bill's gonna get tired of her looking down at him.
Thomas: And you're not gonna tell me why, are you? 'Cause I keep asking you, but you won't give it up.
Steffy: Well, Katie better not either, not if she has any desire to stay married to him.
Katie: You're not a monster, Bill.
Bill: They think I am. Don't you?
Brooke: Katie needed our support. She had every right to open up.
Katie: I wish you would open up.
Bill: You told them about your ultimatum?
Brooke: She wants to help you, Bill.
Katie: Because I love you.
Bill: Then come home with me. I don't need a shrink. I need you.
Brooke: You were planning on murdering somebody.
Bill: This is between my wife and me.
Katie: Bill, please. I love you so much. I want to come home with you, but I can't just pretend like nothing happened. You crossed the line, and you can't honestly tell me that it won't happen again.
Katie: Believe me, I want to go back to the way things were, but we can't ignore the problem.
Bill: You're drawing a line in the sand.
Katie: Yes. For your sake, yes. For the sake of our marriage, yes. I cannot lay my head on a pillow next to yours until you get help from a professional.
Bill: (Sighs) I don't believe in therapy.
Katie: (Sighs) Oh, God. Won't you please just try? Bill... it's the only way I can come home, which I want so desperately.
Bill: I don't play the victim for anybody, Katie.
Katie: I'm not asking you to. Getting help isn't like you're a victim.
Bill: I will not go to some $300-an-hour quack crying about my problems. I don't look to other people to solve my problems.
Katie: You don't think you have a problem, but you do.
Bill: My wife walked out on me. That's my problem. She thinks I need psychiatric help. She doesn't know me anymore.
Bill: Well, those are dangerous words, Katie. You let this thing with Amber get so big that you can't see around it. I am a man who-- I am a husband. I am a father. I am a brother-in-law who looks after his family. Now I would think you and your sister could appreciate that. I haven't changed. I am the same man you married, the same man who went to any lengths necessary to keep your father from going to prison. I love you. I want you back. Baby, enough is enough. I need my wife, and I need you to get over it. Come home with me. We'll work it out. Just come home with me, baby.
