Amber: Come on. Come on! Hmm.

(Cell phone rings)

Oliver: Talk to me.

Amber: Hello. I'm still waiting for my thank-you.

Oliver: Amber?

Amber: Hey, can you hear me all right? Bill finally let me get some decent cell coverage out here.

Oliver: Yeah, I can hear you fine. What's up?

Amber: Great. So you can tell me what a genius I am.

Oliver: Excuse me?

Amber: For inviting you and Hope to dinner. Go ahead. Thank me. I hear you two are closer than ever.

Oliver: I wouldn't say that.

Amber: Yet.

Oliver: She's backing off of Liam.

Amber: Because she knows his place is with me.

Oliver: With his baby. (Scoffs)

Amber: Right, whatever. Um, hey, listen. I have to go. I have a doctor's appointment. But I just wanted to make sure you two were good.

Oliver: Doctor's appointment?

Amber: Yes, it's our very first ultrasound. (Giggles)

Oliver: Oh, right. Good luck.

Amber: You, too.

Tawny: Oliver? Did he call you?

Amber: No. But he should have. He should have sent flowers, too.

Tawny: Oh. So he and Hope have gotten cozy again?

Amber: You know, I... really hate... saying this... but you may have been right. Convincing Liam that he's the father of this baby, it could be a good thing for a lot of people.

Donna: Bill wasn't called?

Katie: (Sighs) He hasn't stopped calling, Donna. I had to turn my phone off.

Donna: Honey, is that safe? You're here on this boat all by yourself.

Katie: I just can't talk to him right now, Donna.

Donna: Okay, you know what? You can take money, all right? We'll trade, because I don't have a problem ignoring Bill at all.

(Cell phone rings)

Donna: Uh... I'm so sorry.

Donna: I'll tell him to stop calling it.

Katie: No, I'll tell him.

Donna: (Sighs)

Katie: Bill, you gotta stop doing this.

Bill: Katie, come home. We need to talk.

Katie: I told you, I can't right now.

Bill: We're not going to fix anything over the phone. I'm waiting at the house, and I'll wait for as long as it takes. I'm here, Katie, and you need to be here, too.

Donna: What did he say?

Katie: He wants me to come home.

Donna: You should go. Look, either it's gonna work out or it's not. You--you should know, so just go. It can't make you feel any worse than you do right now.

(Knock on door)

Steffy: I was afraid of this. Quit moping around already. So your wife doesn't want anything to do with you. Why don't you end the day with somebody who does? Well, don't look too annoyed I parked down the road. I checked the driveway. Katie hasn't shown up. Relax.

Bill: She will.

Steffy: So she's just gonna keep you twisting in the wind a little longer?

Bill: I don't blame Katie for being upset, Steffy.

Steffy: Well, she shouldn't blame you for wanting Amber out of the picture.

Bill: Moved her into that house for one reason. I put her phone on ledge.

Steffy: You were desperate, but you didn't do anything. You didn't kill Amber. So stop being hard on yourself.

Hope: (Sighs)

Hope: (Sighs) Hey. (Sighs) I'm here ready to work. (Sighs) Just promise me one thing.

Oliver: I won't mention her name.

Hope: Okay. (Sighs)

Amber: Don't say it.

Tawny: Well, I didn't. You did. I was right.

Amber: No, maybe.

Tawny: Yeah. Well, you'll know today. That ultrasound could be, uh, the moment of truth.

Amber: He may feel something. He may not.

Tawny: Honey, he already does. You know that, so stop worrying.

(Knock on door)

Tawny: (Sighs) (Chuckles)

Liam: You ready?

Amber: I am. Are you?

Liam: (Sighs)

Oliver: I keep expecting your dad to walk in on us.

Hope: (Chuckles) Not today.

Oliver: I heard your mom flew over to meet him.

Hope: Yeah, nice, huh? Just a weekend getaway to Paris?

Oliver: You're jealous.

Hope: I wouldn't mind a ticket.

Oliver: Oh, yeah?

Hope: Yeah.

Oliver: Where would you want to go?

Hope: The one place I can't go and get away from my thoughts. (Sighs)

Oliver: I hear it really helps to throw yourself into your work.

Hope: Hmm.

Oliver: Or start a new project-- that works, too.

Hope: (Sighs)

Dr. Caspary: All right, Amber, we're almost ready.

Amber: Hmm.

Dr. Caspary: So we'll be taking some initial measurements of the fetus, just to make sure your baby is developing normally. We'll also be able to determine an approximate due date.

Amber: Will you be able to tell if it's a boy or a girl?

Dr. Caspary: Not yet. But if you'd rather not know, we need to make a note of it in your chart.

Amber: Well, um, we haven't decided yet.

Dr. Caspary: Well, you have time. Lift up your shirt.

Amber: (Laughs)

Dr. Caspary: Okay. (Sighs) Let's see. Where are you, little one?

Liam: What is that?

Dr. Caspary: That's the umbilical cord... and the placenta. Let's see. (Sighs) Uh... here we are. Oh, hello there.

Liam: That--that's, um... that's him?

Amber: Or her. (Sighs) That's our baby. (Sighs)

(Heart beating)

Donna: I can't tell you how to handle this.

Katie: But you think I should go home.

Donna: Look... (Sighs) Putting off this talk is only gonna make things more complicated. Things are clear now, right? Bill wants you at home and you want to know that he's the same man that you married. If you drag this out, things could get a little murky.

Katie: Murky? (Chuckles)

Donna: Well, you know how Bill feels about being left alone, right?

Katie: (Sighs)

Donna: Look, if what he did is truly more than you can handle, putting off this discussion is--isn't gonna change anything. But, if by chance, the two of you can get past this...

Katie: Then I'll know the minute I walk through the door.

Bill: My wife is not overreacting.

Steffy: Well, she didn't even give you a chance to defend yourself. There's a reason why spouses don't have to testify against each other in court, you know. There's supposed to be a bond. Katie should support you no matter what you did or thought about doing.

Bill: It's a lot for her to wrap her head around.

Steffy: It's not her head that's the problem it's her heart. If Katie's heart was in it, then she'd be here concerned about you, but she's not concerned about--

Bill: All right, stop it. You say one more word against Katie, it's the last word you'll ever say to me, Steffy.

Steffy: I'm trying to help you, Bill.

Bill: Katie's my wife, Steffy, and whether or not she feels that bond, I do.

Steffy: She walked out on you. She hasn't told you where she is. She doesn't want to see you.

Bill: All right, get out.

Steffy: So you can be alone? 'Cause that's what's gonna happen. She's not rushing home to see you.

Bill: Don't make me say it again.

Steffy: Why haven't you gone out and looked for her? God, you say that you have this incredible bond, yet, you're sitting here waiting for Katie to just make up her mind. That is not who you are. You don't wait for anyone. You take control. You act.

Bill: Okay, it's time for you to go--now!

Steffy: Look, you say you don't want my help, but you're gonna get it.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Oliver: (Laughs) Aw.

Hope: Oh, wow. I remember when we took this.

Oliver: You do?

Hope: Yeah. It--it feels like a million years ago, but, yeah. (Chuckles)

Oliver: It's gonna take you a little while to feel like yourself again. Days like today, you need a distraction.

Hope: Days like today?

Oliver: The ultrasound.

Hope: (Sighs) Right. (Sighs) God, this must be so crazy for Liam. I mean, he's-- he's getting to see his baby for the first time.

Oliver: Guy must feel ripped apart-- seeing his kid, but knowing who the mother is, I mean... (Scoffs) I used to envy the guy.

Hope: Not anymore?

Oliver: The idea of being a dad, the responsibility? A guy's gotta do what he's gotta do, but I'm just glad I'm not the guy to do it. Things are gonna get better.

Hope: (Sighs)

Oliver: You just gotta accept things, you know? And you'll be able to move on.

Hope: You mean like you have?

Oliver: That is a bad example.

Hope: (Laughs)

Oliver: I'm still hoping you'll move on with me.

Hope: (Sighs)

(Heart beating)

Liam: I can't believe that's our baby.

Amber: (Sighs) And it's healthy?

Doctor Caspary: Everything looks very good. The heartbeat's strong.

Amber: (Sighs, laughs)

Liam: I mean, that's-- that's it. Th- that's it right there.

Doctor Caspary: Yes.

Liam: It's so fast.

Doctor Caspary: It's normal.

Amber: Thank you, Doctor. Thank you so much. (Chuckles)

Doctor Caspary: Here you go.

Doctor Caspary: I'll set up your next appointment. You take your time.

Amber: (Sighs) Oh. (Sighs)

Liam: Uh, I didn't expect to feel this way.

Amber: Yeah, it's-- it's the great mystery of life. (Laughs)

Liam: It's incredible. (Sniffles) It's a miracle.

Amber: You're gonna be a great dad, Liam. (Sniffles)

Amber: I couldn't have picked a better guy to be the father of this baby.

Amber: (Sighs) (Sniffles)

Bill: I'm glad you came home, Katie. We need to get past this.

Katie: You make it sound so simple, like it's nothing. I mean, is this something that we can really just get past?

Bill: Amber is fine.

Katie: (Scoffs) You invited her to stay in our new home, where I saw a place where we could build a life together. You saw a place where you could make a murder look like an accident.

Bill: I was trying to protect my son. She almost took him from me, Katie. And then I saw him drowning, being dragged under by that manipulative gold digger. Now I tried to reason with her. I tried everything. She wouldn't back down.

Katie: Why didn't you talk to me? Why didn't you tell me what you were thinking, what you were going through?

Bill: It wouldn't have solved the problem.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: I look different to you, but I'm not any different. Katie, I'm the same man you married. You don't have to be afraid of me. Everything a did, everything I thought was out of love for my son, a love that I discovered because of you. Now I never knew that I could care that much, so much that I'd be willing to do anything. Can't you understand that?

Katie: Willing to do anything? Even take someone's life. I don't know.

Bill: She tried to take my son's life.

Katie: (Sighs)

Amber: (Sighs) (Sighs, sniffles) Are those tears?

Liam: No. What? No, they're yours.

Amber: (Chuckles) I'm not crying.

Liam: Yeah, you are.

Amber: (Chuckles, sniffles)

Liam: Yeah. (Chuckles)

Amber: (Chuckles) These things are, um... (Sniffles) They're always emotional.

Liam: (Sighs) Yeah. At least you were prepared.

Amber: Yeah, I didn't expect your reaction at all. (Chuckles)

Liam: Neither did I.

Amber: You know, you're really an amazing guy, Liam.

Liam: (Sighs)

Amber: You do what needs to be done. You know, that's-- that's what it means to be a good parent-- making those-- those difficult decisions, knowing that it's what's best for your family. Thanks for being here. (Sighs) I know that, um, our child's gonna be proud to call you daddy. Okay. Um... (Sniffles) I'm gonna... I'm gonna go see if the-

Liam: Yeah, okay.

Amber: If the doctor...

Hope: (Sighs) (Sighs) (Sniffles) (Sighs)

Woman: Dr. Van, report to 3.

Carl: Hey, Amber. Long time, no see.

Amber: Carl, what are you doing here?

Carl: What do you mean? I-I work here. I mean--oh, what am I doing outside the exam room where you and William Spencer III are having your first ultrasound?

Amber: (Laughs)

Carl: (Chuckles) By the way h-h-how's the kid? Is everything okay?

Amber: No, everything is not okay, Carl. Look, I don't know how you find out about my ultrasound, but you and I cannot be seen together.

Carl: Well, I'm not stalking you. I overheard a couple of nurses, but, hey, it's my lucky day. I've been looking for you. I went by the trailer, and, uh, it was gone. The park manager said it blew up. Boom! Man, am I glad to see that you and baby Spencer are doing okay.

Amber: Well, I really appreciate your concern, but I-I have to get back.

Carl: Oh, right, right, right, to Liam. Hey, I poked my head in a little earlier. It looks like you two are getting real chummy. The plan's working. He really believes that kid is his.

Amber: Wh-what do you want, Carl?

Carl: You owe me, Amber, big-time. I was expecting big bucks. That was our deal.

Amber: And you will get it.

Carl: When?

Amber: Look, our--our plan is very delicate right now, okay? Um, don't get me wrong. I'm very grateful for everything that you've done.

Carl: Well, I can't pay my rent with gratitude. Where's the money, Honey? Look, I came through for you. Now you come through for me, or, uh, William Spencer III out there is gonna learn the truth, that he is not the daddy of that little bundle you're carrying. Don't mess with me, Amber. I've got your whole future in my hands.

Liam: Amber. "Who-whole future in his hands"? Who's this? What's he's talking about? What's going on here?
