Eric: Why am I always the last person to find out anything?

Felicia: Oh, don't worry, Dad. Mom got us all this time. Dayzee's?

Stephanie: Well... (scoffs) Listen. C.J. was desperate, okay, to sell, and I thought, why not buy it? Wait a minute. I thought you were gonna bring Alexandria.

Thorne: Rick and Bridget took her and R.J. caroling.

Stephanie: Oh, I forgot. He told me that. That's why they're coming late.

Felicia: (Chuckles)

Eric: All right, so you buy a coffeehouse, and now you're gonna put us all to work, is that it?

Stephanie: Well, honey, opportunity knocks, and I say grab it when it does.

Felicia: A coffee shop?

Stephanie: I know. (Laughs) But Dayzee's my partner. She's gonna run it day to day, the operations.

Thomas: Grandma is providing jobs.

Eric: Uh-huh.

Stephanie: Okay. More than just that, I hope. I want--you know, I want Dayzee's to be a place where everybody feels welcome.

Eric: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: Regular customers around the neighborhood, I hope, will continue to come, and they'll pay the asking price. But if somebody shows up, and they only have 25 cents to pay for a sandwich, then that's what we're charging.

Thorne: Not exactly going to make a profit.

Stephanie: Well, where it counts, it will.

Felicia: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: I hope.

Thorne: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Is that okay if we have Christmas here with our family and Dayzee's extended family?

Felicia: (Laughs)

Rodney Saulsberry: Did you know that miracles happen every day? I can feel your miracle set us on the way little baby is a miracle grandmamma is a miracle don't you know that the miracle is life? Oh, the sun is a miracle and a rose is a miracle don't you know the miracle is life? I know the miracle I know the miracle I know the miracle is life oh children little baby is a miracle grandmamma grandmamma is a miracle oh, yeah don't you know that the miracle is life?

Brooke: Anthony, what happened to your face?

Anthony: I got into a disagreement with a few guys.

Brooke: About what?

Anthony: Well, I wanted to keep my stuff. They thought they should have it. I lost.

Brooke: Oh, my God. Your foot.

Anthony: Oh it's fine. Those boys sure did know where to hurt me, though. Nothing classier than beatin' a man where he's already injured.

Brooke: Well, that is ridiculous. What did they take anyway?

Anthony: Oh, I had some change. They took my change. Not much, but enough. They took my CDs.  I guess they're sellin' 'em now. I wish they had taken this guitar instead of doin' what they did to it. Not my best week.

Brooke: We were looking all over for you. I almost gave up.

Anthony: You were lookin' for me?

Brooke: Yeah.

Katie: My sister was very determined.

Brooke: This is my sister Katie.

Anthony: How are you?

Brooke: This is my friend Anthony.

Kat: It's nice to meet you. Brooke's told me a lot about you.

Brooke: I couldn't get you off of my mind. You we so kind.  And now with the holidays here, I couldn't think about you out here on the streets alone. So I wanted to ask you a favor.

Anthony: There's not much I can do for you, I'm afraid.

Brooke: Come with me.

Anthony: Where we goin'?

Brooke: Away from here.

Anthony: Thank you, but I'm really fine right here.

Brooke: Anthony, you're hurt.  And I'm sure that you're hungry, and it's cold. It's only gonna get colder tonight. Please, let me take you somewhere.

(Cell phone rings)

Brooke: Oh, excuse me. Hello?

Ridge: Hey, Logan. (Sighs) I just got off the phone with mother. She's insisting that everyone meet at Insomnia.

Brooke: Why?

Ridge: Oh, who knows? Something about Christmas, she says. I did hear Dayzee in the background, so maybe she's involved.

Brooke: Oh, Dayzee's there, too? Okay, well, there's a few stops I have to make first, but I'll be there as soon as I can. Bye.

Anthony: Were you guy talkin' about my Dayzee?

Brooke: She's been worried about you, too.

Anthony: I have kind of fallen off the radar lately.

Brooke: Anthony, come with me, please.

Dayzee:  Marcus, that--that looks so good.

Marcus: (Sighs) Yeah?

Dayzee: Yeah.

Marcus: Well, look, uh, you need anything else before you open, you, um, just let me know.

Dayzee: Okay.

Pam: I'm back!

Stephanie: Oh, great, honey.

Eric: There you are.

Pam: Where should I put these?

Stephanie: Oh, Thorny, take those and put them over there for her.

Eric: That's more than I've ever seen.

Pam: Recognize this?

Stephanie: That's Mom's sweater.

Pam: That's Mom's sweater.

Stephanie: (Shudders) Well, dinner's ready.  Uh, all we need are some people to show up.

Pam: I think it is so wonderful what you're doing, Steph. I mean it.

Stephanie: Thank you, sweetheart, and I'm glad that you're part of it.

Dayzee: They're coming!

Stephanie: Oh!

Pam: Hooray! Here they are!

(Voices overlapping)

Stephanie: Good to see you again.

Man: How you doin'?

Stephanie: How are you?

Man: Oh, fantastic. Thank you.

Stephanie: Anthony, it's so nice--how are you? Great. Merry Christmas.

Stephanie: You're here just in time.

Hope: Hello! Happy holidays.

Stephanie: Hi. Happy, happy, happy, happy.

Hope: Hi.

Ridge: Hey, Mother, what's going on?

Stephanie: Well, honey, we're gonna celebrate Christmas here. Surprise. Shh. Uh, may I have everybody's attention just for a moment, please? I want to thank you all for joining us here at Dayzee's.

(Voices overlapping)

Dayzee: (Laughs)

Stephanie: Uh, I know. I know. We're not officially open for business yet. I mean, because after all, it is a holiday.  It's also a family occasion, you know.  Old friends, new friends, and, uh, well, I'd like to think that itís... a brand-new start for all of us. And I really appreciate that you would be willing to spend the day with my family. And hope that you'll believe me when I tell you I consider each and every one of you a member of my family.  Okay, enough of that. We've got good news and bad news. The good news is we eat family style which means we all eat together.  And the bad news is we all clean up together.

Leilani: It's all good.

Stephanie: Does that sound okay?

Dayzee: Sounds great.

Stephanie: (Laughs)

Ridge: All right, well, I guess we have a lot of catching up to do then.

Stephanie: Oh, just a little.

Eric: You will not believe what your mother has done.

Stephanie: Where is your mother?

Hope: She's not here yet?

Stephanie: No.

Ridge: No, she said she had a few things to do.

Stephanie: Okay.

Brooke: It's okay. Come on in. Wait right here.

Anthony: Uh, Brooke?

Brooke: I'll be right back.

Brooke: Okay. I laid out some nice clean towels for you and all the toiletries, whatever you may need for a shower. And Katieís gonna be back here soon from Forrester, picking up the clothes.

Anthony: Thank you.

Brooke: Of course.

Anthony: Wow, look at that.

Brooke: Yeah, that's my husband's guitar. Ridge's.

Anthony: May I?

Brooke: Sure.

Anthony: It's beautiful.

Brooke: He doesn't play it as much as he used to.

Katie: (Sighs) Hey.

Brooke: Wow, that was fast. (Laughs)

Katie: (Laughs) Well, I didn't know what size, so I just grabbed a bunch of stuff.

Brooke: Great.

Anthony: Oh, wow. Thank you so much.

Katie: You're welcome.

Anthony: Both of you.

Katie: Got it?

Anthony: Oh, boy. You're so generous.

Brooke: After everything you've done for me, it was the least I could do.

Katie: (Sighs)

Anthony: I'm gonna...

Brooke: Oh, yes, of course. Go shower.

Katie: Sure.

Brooke: I'll be downstairs.

Katie: Listen, uh, I'm sorry. I gotta run. I mean, Liamís supposed to come over for dinner, and I'm already late.

Brooke: Okay, well, give Bill my best, and we'll see you guys tomorrow.

Katie: I hope you have lots of room under the tree. Went a little crazy this year.

Brooke: What? Oh, my God, Katie.

Katie: I just see so many things I want to buy.

Brooke: (Laughs)

Katie: (Laughs) 6:00, right?

Brooke: Yeah, 6:00.

Katie: Okay, love you.

Brooke: Love you, too. Bye.

(Shower running)

Stephanie: I heard more than anything that they just wanted a chance, a place.

Taylor: And you've given that to them. It's great.

Whip: Yeah. What a great idea.

Stephanie: Well, it seemed sort of a no-brainer, you know, when the-- to buy it, so...at I did it for them, really, 'cause they saved my life.  Dayzee, literally. Listen, I don't know if this cancer thing is gonna take me or not, but I do know drinkin' mimosas and ridin' up and down on the roller coasters are okay for a day or two, but it doesn't really let you leave much of a mark in this world.

Dayzee: Well, that's what you're doing, leaving a mark.  And I'm really excited about what this place is gonna do. I mean, it's not just gonna be a free meal, you know, when you're hungry. Dayzee's is gonna make a real difference.

Stephanie: Well, everybody can make a difference. It sounds so, I don't know, corny, but it's true.

Dayzee: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Just one person reaching out to another person, helping--take--a helping hand, giving them a chance...

Whip: Yeah, sure.

Stephanie: Can make such a difference in their lives. I mean, it's--it's pretty good, isn't it?

Dayzee: Yeah, it's great.

Whip: It's great.

Dayzee: That's what you did. You reached out to me and that's what's gonna inspire every person that walks though these doors do. (Chuckles)

Taylor:  Hey, you okay?

Dayzee: Oh, yeah, I'm sorry. I'm just thinking about a friend of mine who I wish was here. His name is Anthony, and he's a musician. I-I could see him up onstage entertaining everybody.

Taylor: Mm-hmm.

Dayzee: He'd do a lot of good work here. But, um, heís been missing for a while. Yeah, it just kind of makes me nervous.

Taylor: Oh, I'm sorry.

Dayzee: Yeah, no, it's fine. I'm okay. (Chuckles)

(Cell phone alert chimes)

Taylor: Oh, wait, hold on.  What in the world? My husband.

Dayzee: Oh.

Taylor: Just a minute.

Dayzee: No go. Go, go, go

Taylor: "Join me"? What what?

Whip: Come here.

Taylor: What?

Whip: 2 inches to the left.

Taylor: Why?

Whip: 2 inches to the left. Do it. Do it.

Taylor: This left? Right here?

Whip: Yes.

Taylor: This left?

Whip: Yeah.

Taylor: Okay, what?

Whip:  That's good.

Taylor: (Sighs) Oh.

Whip: Oh, no. (chuckles) It's the old mistletoe trick. It's been workin' for me since middle school.

Taylor: (Groans)

Whip: It's good to see I haven't lost my touch, right?

Taylor: Mm.

Whip: (Chuckles)

Brooke: Dayzee's? What is she up to now?

Stephanie: Brooke. Hi!

Brooke: Oh, Stephanie.

Stephanie: Hi! (Laughs)

Brooke: Hi.

Stephanie: I'm so glad you're here.

Dayzee: Anthony!

Anthony: Hey, Dayzee.

Dayzee: I'm so glad to see you.

Anthony: I'm glad to see you, too. Look, I'm sorry I haven't been around. I ran into some trouble.  And I lost a lot of St--

Dayzee: Your guitar. Your face.  What happened to you?  Who did this?

Anthony: It doesn't matter.

Brooke: Let's help Anthony sit down. He needs to rest his foot.

Stephanie: Oh, hey, this-- this Anthony?

Brooke: Yes.

Stephanie: This is the Anthony- that helped you find me. Oh.

Brooke: Yes, this is the Anthony. Anthony, I'd like to introduce you to Stephanie Forrester.

Stephanie: Oh, Anthony, I'm so pleased to meet you.

Anthony: I'm glad to meet you, too.

Brooke: And, of course, my husband Ridge.

Ridge: Hey.

Anthony: Lucky man.

Ridge: Don't I know it.  Good to meet you.

Dayzee: Okay, well, no. Sit. Sit.

Stephanie: So you actually found him.

Brooke: Yes, I found him. I'm so happy.

Stephanie: That's so great.

Brooke: So Dayzee's, huh?

Stephanie: Yeah, well, what do you think? Good-bye, fashion, hello, espresso?

Brooke: Something tells me it has more to do with than just your new-found love for coffee. (Chuckles)

Stephanie: (Chuckles) I'll fill you in on everything later. But I want to talk to Anthony for a moment.

Anthony: So this is really your place?

Dayzee: Uh, well, you know, technically it's Stephanieís, but yeah.  Pretty cool, huh?

Stephanie: Anthony, um, I'm-- I'm glad I finally got a chance to--to meet you, because she's been bending my ear about you for quite a few days now. I want to find some way to repay you for, you know, helping Brooke that day.

Anthony: No, no. You're being too kind. You've already done enough, I mean, with the clothes and the food.

Dayzee: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: Well, I-I had something in mind like offering you a job.

Anthony: What's that?

Stephanie: A job.

Dayzee: (Laughs)

Anthony: (Sighs) I-I don't know how much use I would be. I-I tried, uh, busin' tables when I was kid, and, you know, I-I got this bad foot.

Stephanie: I don't care if you can walk fast or slow. It doesn't matter. I want to give you a job.

Anthony: God bless you.  Thank you.

Stephanie: You're welcome. Uh, I just want to thank everyone for being here today. Uh, and look, it's difficult times. We've all been through a lot of difficulties, but that doesn't worry me because we're still here breathing and kicking, and we're still here today in this moment. I think Iím still alive for a very special reason. And that reason is all of you. We're all in this together.  We're one family. We're one village. And I think if there's anything that you can learn from the Christmas season, it's reaching out and helping somebody. Come here. If you just reach out and give somebody a helping hand, you can change their life. And if you change their life, your life will be changed. I think it's really quite simple if we look at it this way-- giving is living. Remember that. Merry Christmas to all of you. Merry Christmas.

Rodney: Did you know that miracles happen every day? I can feel your miracle

Stephanie: Pretty special day.

Leilani: Yes, it's full of love and everybody together here. I mean, we're just so happy to have you.

Stephanie: ...If you don't mind, because when we talked, you said to me that you really hadn't seen anybody in your family. Is that still the same case now?

Tony: I started talking to mother again.

Stephanie: Was she surprised to hear from you?

Tony: Yeah, she was. It was, um, it was the greatest feeling that I-I had ever felt in a long time. I miss my mom. And to hear her voice again and to--to know that she missed me, too...

Stephanie: You gonna go see her?

Tony: Oh, definitely.

Stephanie: Well, that's great.

Tony: Definitely, yeah.

Stephanie: I'm so happy you came to spend the day today.

Tony: You know, I'm glad to be here.

Stephanie: And I'm so glad to see you again. Anything further on the, uh, the section 8 housing that you were talking to us about?

Antoine: Yes, well, matter of fact, in a couple of weeks, we have our interview, yeah.

Stephanie: (Gasps) Oh, my gosh, that's wonderful.

Antoine: Absolutely wonderful, so we should get our housing and move out of the mission and back on our feet to--to, uh, to a new place.

Stephanie: Oh, my goodness. That would be fantastic.

Antoine: It's just beautiful. It's just beautiful. Beautiful.

Stephanie: If you could have anything in this world, I you had one special wish for Christmas, what would it be?

Caroline: That wish would be that everyone that don't have a place to go would have somewhere to go for Christmas, to be in their own place and not on Skid Row.

Stephanie: Bless you.

Caroline: Bless you, too.
