Whip: You know what? Maybe... don't say anything right now.
Taylor: (Sighs) It was a mistake. Whip, I'm sorry. It didn't mean anything.
Whip: You know, it's bad enough you call me by his name. Don't lie to me, too.
Bill: You're a little spunkier than I gave you credit for.
Oliver: I am saying, thank you for the offer, Sir, but if I can't get her back on my own, then I don't deserve her.
Bill: Don't deserve her? It's not about what you deserve or don't deserve. Bad things happen to good people all the time. Do you think they deserve it? If you want something, you fight for it. You pull out all the stops until you get it. You can't be your own man in this world unless you have all that you want. All of it, like me.
Oliver: Well, if that's the case, then you don't need me. And when I tell Liam and Hope about this conversation, I'll leave it up to them to decide if they need you.
Hope: Hey, how do you feel about mirrors? I mean, I think mirrors can do a lot for a room.
Liam: Yeah, I mean, mirrors are all right... especially if they're on the ceiling. Oh, what? (Chuckles)
Hope: Is that how it's gonna be now? I'm gonna be having one conversation. You're gonna be having another one about sex?
Bill: I could almost respect you for standing up to me. Ask me why almost.
Oliver: I'm not looking for respect from you, and I wasn't looking for you to show up at my door.
Bill: Two reasons. Number one, you keep shooting yourself in the foot. Either you want the girl back or you don't. Cooperate with me, and we clear a path to her.
Oliver: You must be mistaking me for somebody like you.
Bill: Number two, what the hell were you smokin' for breakfast that makes you think you can threaten me? I'm not the one who hired a driver to try and turn my son into coyote bait while you, what? Dragged his lady love back here? Now how do you suppose Hope is going to react to that information? So I would suggest you get off that self-righteous high horse you're riding, and get on the pony that I'm backing if you want to be in the winner's circle. And you do want to win, don't you Oliver? So let me help you reach your goal.
Taylor: Sweetheart, I'm-- I'm so sorry.
Whip: All right, it's-- it's not like it's a big surprise, right? Look, I know you think about him, okay? I-I know you-- I know you see him. I know you talk to him. I mean, it's natural. You're--you're friends. You have children. I mean, it'd be one thing if you were-- if--if you were dreaming, you know? If--and you were--you-- you were asleep and you said his name. That'd be one thing. But we were doing something that's supposed to be about you and me, and you said his name.
Whip: Were you hoping that it was him that was touching you and not me?
Liam: It was just a joke.
Hope: I know. I know. I-it's just, that's not the first time you've said something that can be read two ways.
Liam: Okay, I'm-- I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable or...
Hope: No, I'm-- I'm not. I'm not. Well, I-I am. (Sighs) Sometimes you make it seem like something sexual could happen between us, like at--at any moment without warning.
Liam: I mean... (sighs) it's been known to happen.
Hope: Has it? I mean, is that the way it's been with you and-- and other girls? Really, I-I want to know.
Hope: I'm curious.
Bill: I can see why you'd be reluctant to have me on your team.
Oliver: Can you? Really?
Bill: I know I'm arrogant, demanding, but what you have to understand is that it's an arrogance born out of success, out of a lifetime of making the right decisions. You see, Oliver, I have an intuitive gift. I'm at my best when I'm up against a wall, when the odds are stacked against me. If by nothing other than sheer force of will, I'm gonna come out on top or die tryin'.
Oliver: So you're gonna force your will on your son?
Bill: I am going to give my son the guidance that he needs, the guidance I couldn't give him when he was growing up. You see, Liam doesn't see it yet, but he is an extension of me.
Oliver: He can't have his own life?
Bill: Of course he can have his own life.
(Camera shutter clicks)
Bill: I just need to nudge him in the right direction. That's why I can't let him sabotage it over puppy love. So if you want Hope Logan, she's yours. Are those such terrible marching orders? You don't have any other irons in the fire, now do you?
Taylor: Whip, I-I treasure you. I thank God the day you walked in my life. You--you remember how much I fought you at the beginning, and I-I had said that Ridge was one of those reasons why? Well, because we did have a-a very strong life together. We had a marriage that was great, and it was a time in my life that was absolute bliss, and--and then one day, everything changed, and I never knew why, and... it's just really hard when you're--you're not the one who wanted to end it, and... (sighs) but you helped me get past that.
Whip: So because of me, being married to Ridge looks good again? I-I-I'm--I'm trying to understand.
Taylor: When I remember my times with Ridge, I-I look back at good times like when we fell in love and when we were in this house and we were raising our kids, and, I don't know, when-- whenever I looked back at it, it--it was like I had lived maybe a dream or something, but then when I was with you and we fell in love, it was... (sighs) amazing because it--it made all of those good memories and--and those feelings just come to life for me again. And I just... I knew that--that love should feel a certain way. And--and you had made me feel that again. I know what it feels like to be in love, and I-I was happy then. And I'm happy now, and... I just--I never even thought that I would be able to have that again.
Whip: So he was on your mind?
Whip: But not in a wanting kind of way?
Whip: Let me ask you a question. If you could live anywhere in the entire world, where would you live?
Taylor: Right here, in--in this house where I-I raised my children. I have a lot of memories here.
Whip: Well, you know, memories are portable. You can have 'em with me in some place that you've never lived with Ridge or had children.
Whip: Taylor, I asked you before we were married. I needed to be sure that you were over him.
Taylor: I'm not sure how one can answer something like that. Whip, I mean, I mean, those relationships don't just disappear and vanish when they're gone. But the relationship does change.
Taylor: I know when-- when we first got married, we would talk about our future together like-- like, you know, this is our new life. We're goin' on with our new life. But that's-- that's not exactly reality, because I had a life before you, and you had one before me. I love you. I lo-- oh, my God. I love--I'm so sorry. I adore you, and I want you to know, this--this marriage is everything I had ever hoped it would be. I love the way you make-- make me feel like I'm first in your life, and I love the way you make me laugh and... (sniffles) (sighs) I love the way I can talk to you about anything, like-- like I'm doing right now.
Whip: Yeah, I love it, too. I do. I-I really--I live for it. But I can never really be first with you, can I? I mean, because you're not gonna lie to me and say that you love me more than you love him.
Bill: It shouldn't take much of an attitude adjustment on your part to see me as your guardian angel, your genie from Aladdin's lamp. I mean, what else would you call it when someone shows up at your front door that you would never come across during the normal course of your life and that someone orders you to pursue what you want most in the world anyway, and on top of that, promises to help you get it? Now have I done anything more sinister than that?
Oliver: I guess not.
Bill: Good. So I don't have to go through the whole song and dance of digging up more dirt on you to force you to realize how it's in your best interest to cooperate with me?
Bill: I love when people answer me in words of one syllable.
Oliver: What now?
Bill: That's two syllables. Hey, whatever you're doing, stop. Go home. Put on your jammies. Tuck yourself in bed, and be at my office at 7:00 A.M. tomorrow morning.
Liam: Why? What's up?
Bill: I'll tell you when you need to know.
Liam: Okay, yeah. I don't need any sleep.
Bill: You in the middle of something?
Liam: Uh, somewhat. Yeah.
Bill: Well, put it to bed.
Liam: Good night.
Bill: Don't ever hang up on your father. He's with Hope.
Oliver: He told you that?
Bill: He didn't have to. Who knows what could happen tonight.
Oliver: What are you gonna do?
Bill: I'm gonna hold up my end. And you're going to hold up your end by making a play for Hope and making it good. If I need anything else, you'll hear from me.
Oliver: Mr. Spencer. Wait. Wait. Wait. Wait.
Bill: We're done.
Oliver: Sir, wait! Wait!
Liam: Sounds like my dad has big plans for me.
Hope: Mm, this surprises you? (Chuckles)
Liam: I'm still getting to know him. I mean, everything's a surprise. Why, do you think I should, like, put on the brakes?
Hope: No, I don't. I-I think that it's still new for both of you, and I think you should take it as it comes and see what life as Bill Spencer's son has to offer.
Liam: I'm sorry that I act like a fool and I make you feel self-conscious like all I think about is sex with you.
Hope: No, I-I don't think that. I don't. I just--I don't want it to happen on the spur of the moment or--or by some prearranged signal. I... let's just agree that it will be a decision that we both make about how we want our relationship to be and--and what we mean to each other. And--and I don't want anyone to be sorry in the end, you know? No surprises. No being in a hurry. I... okay?
Liam: Is now a weird time for me to tell you how much I love you?
Hope: Not necessarily, no.
Oliver: How'd you disappear?
Amber: (Sighs) Well, I went around back. I figured you didn't want Spencer to see me.
Amber: Did I just hear what I thought I heard?
Oliver: I don't know, but I'm screwed. He traced back the town car you rented back to my credit card.
Amber: Well, did he know I was driving it?
Amber: I don't want to be on the radar of someone like Bill Spencer.
Oliver: And if Hope ever finds out that I was trying to get between her and Liam, she's not gonna trust me again.
Amber: Uh, why would he tell her? Wasn't he just saying that he wants you to break Hope and Liam up?
Amber: (Laughs) And this is a problem why? Isn't that what you want, too?
Oliver: Sure, it is. But secrets are bad. Going behind Hope's back is what got me in trouble before.
Amber: Really? I mean, you think it would have gone better if you'd said, "I cannot lie. I did your mom"? Come on. I'm on your side here. So what do you think Spencer has in mind that's so underhanded?
Oliver: I don't know. He didn't tell me.
Amber: So what's different than before he had your credit card? You want Hope back. And you're trying to change her mind. Meanwhile, Bill Spencer has some people out there that are doing... maybe something good. Maybe something not-so-good. How is that on you?
Oliver: I don't like it, okay?
Amber: Look, um, I think it's great. It's--it's very admirable that you care about being moral and all that, you know, doin' the right thing. But late at night, when it's dark and it's cold, wouldn't you rather think about being happy?
Oliver: Of course I want to be happy. And, yes, I think about it a lot.
Amber: About Hope, you mean?
Amber: Okay. So you want Hope back, and Spencer wants her away from Liam. He wants to help you make that happen. What's the big deal?
Oliver: What--what if Hope is really in love with this guy like she thinks? It's gonna turn her world upside down.
Amber: (Laughs) Exactly. That's where you come in-- to fix it.
Hope: You're gonna be happy here. This place has a really good vibe.
Liam: Yeah. Especially if you're with me.
Hope: I'm not going anywhere.
Amber: With Bill Spencer working against them and me at your side, they don't stand a chance. Hope will be yours.
Taylor: I've loved a lot of people in my life. But I-I've never loved any two of them the same. Just because I loved someone before, it doesn't mean I would love someone else any less. I-I could never love Ridge like I love you. I-it's not the same. Whip, I love you like I have never loved anyone. (Sighs) Listen, I think tonight... it was just that I felt so safe and I felt so free, and... (sighs) and I'm sorry. I know I hurt you.
Whip: Thank you. Really, thank you for-- for sharing all of that with me. The mind goes where it wants to, huh? (Chuckles)
Taylor: (Chuckles) (Sniffles)
Whip: Taylor, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I never had a great romance. I never had a happy marriage or kids to love and protect. Okay, maybe I'm envious, but I don't... I don't wish that you never had a life before me. I'm grateful for the woman that you've become, and I'm grateful for the woman that's before me right now. And I'm not jealous of your first love... so long as I'm number one in your life now.
Taylor: I am--I am totally committed to you.
Whip: Okay. All right. And I'm sorry for making... making so much out of just a... slip of the tongue. (Chuckles) Okay? Let's just forget it.
Taylor: Oh. (Sniffles) Oh, you mean the world to me. I love you. I love you. (Chuckles) (sniffles) (sighs)
Whip: Okay. Okay.
