Audience: (Cheering) (Gasps)

(Cheers and applause)

Dayzee: Hi. How are you?

Stephanie: (Laughs)

Dayzee: I'm sorry I haven't been by sooner. I've been so busy at the shelter.

Stephanie: I'm just happy you're here now.

Dayzee: Wow. Well, this is not a bad place to be recuperating.

Stephanie: Well, yeah. I'm pretty lucky. I have to admit it, but I can't wait to get out of here and get back to work and be productive.

Dayzee: Well, I'm sure they're missing you over at Forrester Creations.

Stephanie: Oh, I think they can manage without me.

(Camera shutters clicking)

Ridge: What the hell was that?

Taylor: That was a kiss. I cannot believe what I just saw.

Woman: What was that kiss all about?

Thomas: Well, it got your attention, didn't it?

Man: Brooke, how does your husband feel about you kissing his son? Is there more to this?

Bill: Do your job, Jarrett.

Jarrett: Right. (Clears throat) Uh, yes, talk about a showstopper, young Thomas. That was certainly a very racy ending.

Thomas: I told you you'd see something unlike anything before.

Jarrett: Ridge, can we get a comment?

Thorne: You better get out there and do some damage control.

Eric: Yeah.

Thorne: I'll get rid of the press.

Eric: Pam, take this.

Pam: (Whispers) Go. Go.

Thorne: (Speaking indistinctly)

Eric: Thank you all very much for being here. We appreciate you attending this event, and we look forward to your reviews for the Hope for the Future line and the new men's line by Thomas Forrester. Backstage. Both of you. Come on.

Jarrett: Eric, what did you think of that kiss?

Eric: No further questions. Thank you, Jarrett.

Thorne: Uh, thanks for coming, everyone.

Man: Do you have a statement for us, Thorne?

Thorne: That's all for tonight. Again, thank you for coming.

Eric: Good night.

Whip: I told him to do something. I didn't realize he'd do that.

Taylor: Oh, God.

Ridge: I need an explanation.

Taylor: Oh, I'm right behind you.

Whip: Okay, look. I'll come with you. I feel responsible.

Taylor: No, no, no, no. I'll see you at home. I'll see you at home. We're taking care of this ourselves.

Thomas: Hey, guys, you were great. You killed it out there.

Woman: (Laughs)

Marcus: Yeah. Well, well, well. Man, you are full of surprises, aren't you, buddy? My boy. (Laughs)

Thomas: Brooke! Brooke, did you see that?

Brooke: (Sighs)

Thomas: The crowd went nuts.

Brooke: Thomas, Thomas, we really need to talk about this.

Ridge: Everybody, thank you very much for your hard work. Great job. Can everybody clear out, please? We need a little time to talk.

Taylor: What was that out there?

Ridge: What the hell would make the two of you do something like that?

Stephanie: Eric told me that he gave you the 50-cent tour at the company and that you really enjoyed it.

Dayzee: (Laughs) I did. It was like a whole nother world down there. It was really neat to see.

Stephanie: It's very interesting, isn't it?

Dayzee: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: (Chuckles)

Dayzee: Thank you.

Stephanie: How'd you like to come work with us?

Dayzee: Thank you, Stephanie. That's very kind of you.

Stephanie: I think it'd be great.

Dayzee: I don't know. That's your place. My place is the shelter. And I really enjoy working there and helping out all of the guests.

Stephanie: Guests?

Dayzee: Oh, we call everyone that.

Stephanie: Oh.

Dayzee: It gives them dignity. And it also reminds them that, you know, the shelter is temporary.

Stephanie: Of course.

Dayzee: Yeah, they're supposed to get back up on their feet and find a job and get a place to live. I mean, we've had so many success stories. That's what makes it so important.

Stephanie: I know.

Dayzee: You're about to be another success story, too.

Stephanie: I'm counting on it.

Dayzee: Mm-hmm. (Chuckles) You're well on your way. I mean, you found a whole new purpose for your life.

Stephanie: Life is full of surprises. Believe me.

Thorne: Jarrett, the show is over. Would you mind leaving?

Rick: What the hell just happened? What was Thomas thinking?

Eric: I don't know. Ridge is talking to him now.

Marcus: Okay, so the last of the press just left the building.

Eric: Good.

Liam: We just saw Jarrett heading out.

Eric: Good. Thank you. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Katie: Okay, can anyone explain what just happened?

Bill: I'll tell you exactly what just happened. Little Tommy Forrester finally grew a set.

Pam: (Scoffs)

Whip: Okay, I think I can explain, guys. Thomas was concerned that the Hope for the Future campaign was gonna overshadow the men's line, so I suggested that he do something to grab the press' attention.

Katie: Oh, great.

Pam: (Scoffs)

Whip: I never imagined he'd do this.

Thomas: Mom, Dad, calm down. It was a publicity stunt.

Ridge: It was completely out of line.

Taylor: Why would you do that, Brooke? Why would you make him kiss you?

Thomas: Whoa, whoa, hey. Brooke didn't do anything. She didn't even know what I was gonna do.

Taylor: Oh, really? It was your idea?

Thomas: Your husband told me to do something big to get noticed, and that's what I did.

Ridge: You should have discussed this with me first.

Thomas: If I had, it wouldn't have happened.

Ridge: You got that right.

Thomas: Guys, what's the big deal? Fashion is theater, performing, acting. It's not like I really kissed Brooke.

Taylor: It looked real enough from where I was sitting.

Ridge: And it's gonna look very real on the internet, and on the cover of every newspaper and fashion magazine in the morning.

Thomas: Exactly. That's what I was going for. Front page all the way.

Ridge: Thomas, you should have just let your designs speak for themselves. They were impeccable.

Thomas: Dad, come on. Y-you saw the press. They were practically falling asleep in their chairs. I had to wake them up. And I did.

Dayzee: Well, I should be getting back. I have to help prepare for breakfast at the shelter.

Stephanie: Oh, wait. Give me a minute to change. I'll go with you.

Dayzee: Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Stephanie: Why can't I go with you?

Dayzee: Mnh-mnh. You need to go take care of yourself. Besides, you'll get down there soon enough. But you need your strength, 'cause I've got plenty of work for you to do.

Stephanie: Okay, boss.

Dayzee: (Laughs) And you'll start out as an apprentice...

Stephanie: Mm-hmm.

Dayzee: Working in the kitchen, greeting the guests. We like to give them the white-glove treatment as best we can.

Stephanie: Okay. Oh! Look, I was going to mail this. I might as well give it to you to take down, okay? If you don't mind.

Dayzee: Oh, no. Oh, well, we never turn down a donation. Wow. (Sighs) Stephanie, this is very generous of you. Thank you. I'm gonna be really excited to take this back to the shelter, and I'll be excited to introduce you soon as a new apprentice.

Stephanie: I'll look forward to it.

Dayzee: Great.

Stephanie: So you'll call and let me know when I should come to work?

Dayzee: Of course. Well, unless I see you at Forrester Creations first.

Stephanie: What?

Dayzee: Marcus. He's been leaving voice mails at the shelter for me. He's pretty relentless. I think I'm gonna have to go on a date with him.

Stephanie: Mm, he's pretty hot.

Dayzee: (Laughs) Who knows. I may be a Forrester pretty soon. (Laughs)

Stephanie: (Laughs) Stranger things have happened, honey.

Dayzee: Yeah.

Stephanie: Believe me. Although, you do know that this is a pretty wild and wacky off-the-wall kind of family.

Dayzee: Oh, girl, every family has their dysfunctions. (Laughs) But you seem to be doing fine. You know, especially you and the woman that you pretend to hate.

Stephanie: Oh, Brooke, yeah.

Dayzee: Mm-hmm.

Stephanie: Oh, God, relationships are so strange and weird. You know, I was thinking earlier about something you said to me...

Dayzee: Hmm?

Stephanie: Looking at life through new glasses. And I realized I-I have to look at Brooke through new glasses, too.

Pam: Wait till Stephanie hears about this, Eric. Brooke in another scandal? She's gonna blow a gasket.

Katie: Okay, I gotta go find Brooke.

Rick: Oh, Katie, I think she's a little preoccupied right now getting an earful from Ridge.

Bill: Maybe not the best time to interrupt them.

Eric: Whip, I think maybe you should go.

Pam: Yeah. (Sighs)

Whip: L-l-listen, Eric, whatever part I played in this, I really am so sorry.

Eric: Yeah, I--

Whip: I-I-I didn't-- I didn't know that Thomas was gonna do it.

Eric: I'm not gonna blame you for my grandson's bad judgment.

Thorne: Our family's dealing with a hell of a situation here. You shouldn't be here.

Whip: I understand. Um, just tell Taylor that I'll meet her at home. Good luck.

Bill: Well, this latest turn of events... not good for you, Eric. But it is gonna make me a lot of coin.

Thomas: Thank you. You know, check out the web or any fashion publication tomorrow morning, and what will you see? The new men's line by Thomas Forrester.

Taylor: With a photograph of you kissing your father's wife.

Ridge: Thomas, the thing is, you created one hell of a mess here.

Thomas: No, Dad, no. I've created a buzz. I've given us exposure. This was a calculated business move. The men's line is going to sell. It's gonna be the biggest thing in men's fashion.

Taylor: (Sighs) Brooke, you're being very quiet back there. Would you like to explain to me your role in this?

Brooke: I don't need to explain myself to you at all, Taylor.

Taylor: Oh, that-- I'm sorry. That's right. Right. You have no accountability.

Thomas: Look, I told you. She had no clue what was going to happen.

Taylor: (Sighs) It's just like clockwork. Brooke, I told you this would happen, didn't I? I told you this is exactly what would happen-- that it would just be a matter of time before you dragged my son into the mud and you ruined his life.

Brooke: Don't. Don't make this into something more than it was.

Taylor: I don't know what more it needs to be. Really, Brooke, you kissed my son right in front of me, right in front of his father, in front of the entire world. I really do not know what's wrong with you.

Ridge: Thomas, did you do this to hurt me?

Thomas: Dad, no, of course not. It was a stunt to get a reaction from the press. I'm sorry you're so freaked out. I thought you'd understand it for what it is. Just try to see my position here.

Ridge: Look, I understand why you did this. It's just that it was so painfully misdirected.

Thomas: Okay, okay. Maybe I pushed it a little too far, but, Dad, isn't that what fashion is about? Go big or go home. Out of everybody, I thought you would be able to understand that. I mean, this kind of thing I learned from you.

Ridge: Son, I was very much like you when I was younger. I pushed the envelope whenever I could. But never something like this. You went too far. You crossed the line.

Brooke: Ridge, for heaven sakes. You're overreacting.

Taylor: Your father is absolutely right.

Thomas: You know, I'm sorry we don't see eye to eye. I thought I was doing something positive for the company. Heck, I just got us an incredible amount of free publicity.

Ridge: Thomas, this is gonna cost us. Our reputation is on the line now. Every member of this Forrester family and our company is gonna be affected by what you've done.

Eric: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Oh, hi. You're home.

Eric: What are you doing?

Stephanie: What?

Eric: You're supposed to be in bed under the covers recovering from major surgery.

Stephanie: (Stammers) I'm in bed, okay?

Eric: (Scoffs)

Stephanie: You just missed Dayzee.

Eric: (Chuckles)

Stephanie: So what happened with the fashion shows? Tell me. I want all the gossip, all the news.

Eric: Well, uh, Hope for the Future was a big success.

Stephanie: Mm-hmm. Good. Tom's line--what happened?

Eric: Not so much.

Stephanie: Oh.

Eric: We had, uh, we had a situation.

Stephanie: What happened?

Eric: Thomas kissed Brooke.

Thomas: Mom, I know you're really upset with me right now.

Taylor: No, I'm worried about you, Thomas.

Thomas: (Sighs) Well, you shouldn't be.

Taylor: I'm your mother.

Thomas: Good. Then cut me some slack.

Taylor: (Sighs) Thomas, Brooke? Come on. Of all people...

Thomas: Okay, I-I-I know probably it wasn't easy for you to see, just like it wasn't easy for me when you gave your shares of the company to my little sister.

Taylor: Is that what this is about? Is that what this all is about? You're getting back at me?

Thomas: Mom, it's about a lot of things, mostly about making a name for myself. People are going to remember this for years.

Taylor: Sweetheart, listen to me. They're not going to remember your designs. All they're gonna remember is you kissing your father's wife.

Thomas: Guess what? That's a marketing coup. As long as the line sells.

Taylor: Thomas, Thomas, you are so talented. You are amazing. Your work was beautiful. It was elegant. It was classy. You worked so hard.

Thomas: Yeah, I did. And it was killing me to see all that hard work going to waste. The press hardly even noticed my line. No one seems to understand what that did to me. Look, I didn't expect the people I love to react like this. I did what I felt had to be done. It's as simple as that.

(Telephone rings)

Ridge: Ridge Forrester. No comment. God. Madison, you gotta hold all my calls.

Brooke: We should really talk about what happened.

Ridge: The press is already in a feeding frenzy.

Brooke: Look, Ridge, I know you're upset. Thomas made a bad judgment call.

Ridge: Mm-hmm.

Brooke: It must have been a shock to see him up on stage kissing me.

Ridge: Yeah, kind of shocking.

Brooke:  I can't even imagine how you feel.

Ridge: My son in lip lock with my wife in front of the world? Eh, well.

Brooke: Ridge... (sighs) I was just as surprised as you were.

Ridge: Did you know he was gonna pull this stunt?

Brooke: I knew he was going to do something to get noticed, but I had no idea he was gonna kiss me.

Ridge: Yeah, well, he did. It happened. There's no taking it back now. But the thing that gets me-- you allowed it.

Stephanie: Well, all right.

Eric: Thomas kissed Brooke full on the mouth at the end of the showing.

Stephanie: Really?

Eric: Yes. But Hope for the Future got a really big reaction. A wonderful reaction, really. And the reaction to Thomas' men's line was more tepid, and he was disappointed, so he felt he needed to do something to punch it up, and so he needed to pull this stunt.

Stephanie: And he kissed Brooke?

Eric: Yes. And apparently, it worked. The press went nuts. It's all over the internet.

Stephanie: Oh, no. Oh, God, Ridge and-- just--in another scandal?

Eric: Yeah, and Brooke is right in the middle of it again.

Stephanie: This is-- this is just unforgiveable. She's got Ridge in these scandals all the time, and now...

Eric: Yeah.

Stephanie: Oh, my God. Now she's got Tom? She's pulled him into the middle of something?

Thomas: (Sighs)

Taylor: Thomas, I wasn't trying to corner you or attack you.

Thomas: (Sighs)

Taylor: That's not my intention.

Thomas: Okay.

Taylor: You had to be upset today. You had to, when your father moved up Hope's premiere. I understand.

Thomas: Finally, my chance to be in the spotlight, and it was taken away from me, so I took my own action.

Taylor: But did you stop to think? Did you think about the consequences, how it might affect your father or the family or the company?

Thomas: I did what had to be done, and it worked.

Taylor: (Sighs) It was impulsive, Thomas, and you know that I've told you that impulsivity is the major cause of every problem in a family.

Thomas: (Sighs) Mom, please stop being a shrink.

Taylor: I just want to understand you. I'm trying to understand why you want to lash out.

Thomas: Mom, and why would I be lashing out? 'Cause my little sister owns a chunk of the company and I have nothing?

Taylor: Thomas--

Thomas: No, Mom, you don't get it. I have to scratch and claw my way in the fashion world to get some recognition. I haven't had it handed to me. And I'm sorry if I disappointed you and Dad, but... (chuckles) I made a name for myself today. And I can't say I regret it.

Brooke: Ridge, if I had known he was planning on kissing me, I never would have agreed to it. You know that. But I understand why he did it. He had to do something shocking, and, yes, it was inappropriate. But look what happened. The press went wild. Thomas' line is a huge hit. Okay. Okay. I agree he should have found another way to do it. But I don't think he thought this would bother you. He took a big risk. And I just happened to be there.

Ridge: Oh, you certainly happened to be there all right, right in the middle of it.

Brooke: You're not suggesting that I encouraged this?

Ridge: Logan, I don't really know what to think about all this yet.

Brooke: Ridge, I know that you're upset. But it was a kiss. It was a publicity gimmick.

Ridge: No, no, it was a little more than that. There's kind of a cumulative effect thing happening here now.

Brooke: Okay. I-I-I'm sure that people will realize that it was just a stunt, and it will all blow over.

Ridge: Logan, why does this keep happening? One incident after another. And they're building up. Now it involves Thomas. Come on, Logan. Not my son.

Brooke: You're kidding me, right? You know I would never do anything to hurt you. I love you, Ridge. Please. Please don't lose faith in me.
