Brooke: So what did the doctor say?
Ridge: I didn't talk to him. Dad said he'd call me when he finished talking with them.
Brooke: Eric spent the night?
Ridge: Yeah. She has such a long way to go.
Brooke: She'll make it. We just have to believe that.
Ridge: Logan, I am so grateful for the concern that you have shown my mother.
Thomas: Hey, Dad, do you have a minute?
Brooke: Morning, Thomas.
Ridge: So what's up?
Thomas: I wanted to talk to you about the men's line. Look, I-I know you're still on the fence about expanding it, but I'm here to convince you that we have to. Dad, give me the reins. I'm--I'm ready.
Nick: You realize you're distracting me?
Aggie: Is that a problem? (Giggles)
Nick: I don't think so.
Aggie: (Gasps) (Chuckles) Listen, um... could I maybe just give you my honest opinion on those design sketches of Amber's?
Nick: No. No.
Aggie: You know, I just-- I think they're nothing special, really.
Aggie: Yeah, I mean, they're way, way, way worse than Bridget's, and I think our clientele will really notice. Nick? I think you should let her go.
Hope: You know I'm gonna want an autographed copy, right?
Liam: Of my article?
Hope: Yes, of your article.
Liam: Um, you know it's gonna be, like, mostly pictures of Steffy in her underwear, right?
Hope: I have scissors.
Liam: (Laughs) Touché.
Liam: I wonder if my dad's gonna let me choose my next assignment.
Hope: What do you want to write about?
Liam: What do I wa-- uh, you.
Hope: Oh. (Giggles)
Liam: The Hope for the Future campaign.
Liam: Since you're, you know, my hope for the future.
Liam: (Groans) Okay, that was corny. That was so corny. That was so cheesy. I'm not--I'm not normally that cheesy.
Hope: No, it wa--it wasn't-- well... (Laughs) It's not--it's not you. I promise. It's... eh.
Hope: It's-- Oliver used to say that.
Amber: Oh, could you be any more obvious, aggie? We all know why you want me fired, and it has nothing to do with my designs.
Aggie: I don't like these, and if I did, it wouldn't matter to me what a skank you are.
Amber: Oh, is that in the employee handbook? Page 52--"skankiness must be directly proportional to design talent."
Aggie: You clearly didn't get the memo.
Nick: Okay. Hey. Hey. Hey. Nobody's getting fired. Not today anyway. But she's right. These... these could be better.
Amber: Look, nick, um, this opportunity means everything to me the last thing I want is for you to be disappointed in my work. I-if here's a problem, I can fix it. So just give me notes. What are these designs missing?
Nick: (Sighs) they're missing depth. They're missing a little class. Don't get me wrong. I like your edge, amber. I like where you're headed with this. And it's gonna work for Jackie M., But, you know, we're facing Forrester creations here. That's our competition. There's a big buzz around this hope for the future line, and we gotta take advantage of that, so these... you know, you gotta dig deep here. You gotta bring some elegance to these designs.
Amber: I can do that.
Nick: I want revisions on my desk tomorrow morning, and I want to be impressed.
Amber: I'm on it.
Ridge: The men's line by Thomas Forrester.
Thomas: You won't regret it.
Ridge: I haven't said yes yet.
Thomas: Look at this.
Brooke: Oh, a new logo?
Thomas: Yeah, I've sketched a few ideas. This is my favorite.
Brooke: I really like it.
Thomas: I have a few more designs I've been working on right there.
Thomas: Dad, this is actually the one I showed you yesterday, but Brooke gave me some notes. I trimmed the lapel, slimmed the tie. It's perfect now.
Ridge: Thomas, this is great. You worked with him?
Brooke: Yeah. This project has so much potential. And so does Thomas. He is so passionate about it, Ridge. How can you even consider saying no?
Taylor: So, uh, hey. What's going on in here?
Thomas: Oh, hey, Mom.
Taylor: What's all this about?
Thomas: Oh, well, I'm proposing to take over the men's line.
Taylor: (Chuckles) Really?
Ridge: Thomas wants to make it a subsidiary of Forrester Creations under his own name.
Taylor: Really? And you'd be okay with that, Brooke? Giving over creative control? I thought that was your baby.
Thomas: Oh, no, no. Don't worry. She's gonna be helping me with it. We'll be working side by side on everything, assuming Dad says yes. Mom, isn't this great?
Aggie: You think she'll come through for you?
Nick: Amber's talented. I wouldn't have put her as lead designer if I didn't think that. She just needed a little fire lit under her, that's all.
Aggie: How did I ever let myself like her?
Nick: Because you like to see the good in people. It's cute.
Aggie: Oh, yeah, I must have been squinting pretty hard. (Chuckles)
Nick: Come on. Amber's harmless.
Aggie: Harmless? That look in her eye, that fake grin when she's talking to me. I can't shake the feeling that she's gonna try to mess with me.
Hope: I'm sorry. I shou--I shouldn't have brought up Oliver just now. (Sighs)
Liam: It's okay. He was your boyfriend. He's gonna come up.
Hope: Actually, we should go on that note. I mean, he comes here, like, all the time.
Liam: Hope, he's an adult. He knows we're together. I-I think he could handle us... kissing.
Hope: (Laughs) (Giggles)
Amber: Don't let them bother you. You're so much cuter when you're smiling.
Oliver: Hey, Amber. H-how's the ankle doing?
Amber: Much better, thanks to you taking such good care of me. So what'd you do? Bring the whole office?
Oliver: No, I-I couldn't get any work done there. I've got four more tracks to finish this campaign, and I thought this would be a nice change of scenery.
Amber: So what is this? Uh, the bedroom line? Or...
Oliver: Oh, that's the worst of it. It is Hope for the Future.
Amber: (Chuckles) You don't say.
Oliver: This is so pathetic. I'm here composing music for my ex-girlfriend's clothing line, and she's sitting a few tables away makin' out with some other dude. I-I can't do this anymore. I'm just--
Amber: Uh-- uh, you know what, Oliver? Um, just wait. Wait. Wait. I-I just got here. I just got here. (Chuckles) I mean, you don't want to let a girl drink alone, do you? And, um, besides, maybe I could help you.
Taylor: Ridge, may I talk to you for just a second?
Thomas: What? Is there a problem?
Taylor: Thomas, its one thing to work in the same building with Brooke, but it's another to work side by side with her.
Thomas: This has nothing to do with Brooke. This is about me making my own mark on the company.
Taylor: Well, I can think of a hundred better ways.
Thomas: I don't think you'd be having a problem if this were Steffy's idea.
Taylor: I'm sorry?
Thomas: She already has the bedroom line. She's been given title after title, and now she even owns 25% of the company. What's wrong with me having my own little piece?
Taylor: Okay, Thomas, I-I can see that you're upset, and I hear that you're angry that I gave those shares to your sister. But you know what? It makes me feel really--
Thomas: Whoa, Mom. Mom, stop it. You're doing that thing I hate. I'm not your patient. I'm your son.
Brooke: Okay. Okay. Don't talk to your mother that way.
Taylor: Don't correct my son.
Thomas: What are you doing? Why are you always attacking Brooke?
Taylor: You know our history. Thomas, you know what I have gone through with her.
Thomas: Yeah, so why can't we get over it already? Brooke works here. I work here. So if--if she feels like she wants to help me on something that benefits Forrester Creations, then, Mom, I feel lucky and grateful to have her support.
Taylor: Okay. Again, I hear what you're saying. But it's my opinion that you--
Thomas: You know, you should have held onto your stock, Mom. If you still had that 25% you thought Steffy so desperately needed, maybe, uh, you'd have a say, but you don't. This is Dad's call.
Thomas: (Sighs) So what do you say, Dad? You know how much this means to me. Can we do it or not?
Ridge: (Sighs) Thomas, there are a lot of emotions running very high around here right now. I need some time to think about it, and I need some time to talk with your mother alone.
Brooke: Come on. Let's go.
Nick: I think you're being a bit paranoid now. Amber's not going to mess with you. At least not now anyway.
Aggie: Because she's busy making her designs more elegant?
Nick: Well, she better be. If she steps up, we're gonna give Forrester Creations a run for their money.
Amber: No, no, no, you know-- stay. Stay. Stay. Please. Just--just let me help you.
Oliver: All right. I'll stay.
Amber: Oh, good. Good. Good. So, um, how--how does this work? Do you like, um, compose something for individual sketches or--
Oliver: No, it's, um, it's more for inspiration.
Oliver: This is so hard, Amber. I keep lookin' over there. I see her face. I just remember all the good times we had.
Amber: I can't imagine. It's...
Oliver: I keep thinkin' she'll realize her mistake, like you said.
Amber: I think the best thing you could do is try to make her a little jealous. Let her think that you've moved on with someone else, someone who appreciates you for everything you have to offer.
Ridge: Taylor, what's goin' on here?
Taylor: All right, I-- I know you think I came on a little strong. But you know where I'm coming from.
Ridge: Considering you just told our son that it's not a good idea to work with my wife, no. Actually, I don't know where you're coming from.
Taylor: Thomas is young. He's impressionable.
Ridge: So Brooke is going to corrupt him? Is that what you're saying?
Taylor: Yeah, if we let her. Yes. (Scoffs)
Ridge: Taylor, you really have this image of her? She's known Thomas all his life. She was there when he was born. She helped raise him. She very much loves him.
Taylor: (Sighs) Ridge, Brooke is a walking disaster. She's a magnet for trouble, and if you made a choice to live with that, that's fine. That's your business. I am done trying to save you from it. But as Thomas' mother, it's my job. It is my job to protect him from predators.
Brooke: Are you okay?
Thomas: (Sighs) I just wish everyone could leave the past in the past.
Brooke: Your mother's just looking out for you, Thomas. We have a very complicated relationship. It's only natural that she might be worried about my working with you.
Thomas: I know. It--it's not like I'm gonna cut her out of my life or anything.
Brooke: Good. Because that's the worst feeling ever when your child doesn't want to have anything to do with you.
Thomas: You and Hope are okay now?
Brooke: Yeah. It was painful for awhile, but we got through it.
Thomas: Look, I know you wouldn't deliberately hurt someone you love.
Brooke: Never. (Chuckles)
Thomas: (Chuckles) My mother sees you differently. My grandmother, my sister... but they just don't know the real you. I see you like my dad does. I didn't always, though. I-I--but I've grown up, Brooke. I-I understand things better now.
Nick: Mother, this is my fourth message. That means I've left three prior to this. We're moving forward with Amber's designs, and I would like your input. I thought you'd understand that Bridget and Owen had to leave. I didn't mean for you to leave. I want you here with me. I miss you, so call me. You know, once we start outselling that Hope for the Future line, she'll be here. She won't be able to take it. What's that look?
Nick: What is it?
Aggie: I'm sorry, Nick, but I-I'm not sure that Amber's designs can compete with Forrester Creations. I'm not sure that Amber is capable of delivering what you're asking.
Amber: Any girl would be lucky to have you, and if Hope can't see that--
Oliver: She can't see anything with that idiot kissing her nonstop.
Oliver: I hate this.
Amber: Listen, I know what will make you feel better.
Ridge: Taylor, Brooke is not going in for the kill. She just wants to try and help Thomas with a project he's completely and totally passionate about.
Taylor: I don't like the idea of our son working with a woman who at a moment's notice could end up on the cover of the next rag tomorrow with the latest scandal, all right?
Ridge: Come on.
Taylor: Ridge, you're blind to it. You don't see it, because I think you're honestly so-- you're so accustomed to this behavior that-- that you don't even know how ridiculous it is. You--I mean, you just go into forgiveness mode. You forgive her over and over again, every single mistake, every single indiscretion, every infidelity. Why do you want to put our son in the middle of that? Why do you want to throw him into that fire, ridge? What-- can you imagine if Brooke were to-- (Scoffs)
Ridge: Wait. Wait. Wait. You gotta be kidding here. You're honesty suggesting that Thomas and Brooke might become involved?
Taylor: I'm sorry. I didn't say that. No. I don't--I don't know exactly what I was saying, but I don't-- no, I don't think that would happen. But something will. Something will happen. Something that could destroy our son's reputation. I'm telling you, Ridge. (Sighs) Brooke thrives on chaos, and you know that. As a doctor, I know what kind of pattern that is. As a mother, I'm telling you that--that every instinct in my body is telling me-- it's screaming for me to get my son away from that woman.
Ridge: I don't understand this. I thought you two were getting along well. You've been working so well with her, handling this situation with my mother's cancer. What happened?
Taylor: What can I say? Brooke has her moments. I've tried to work with her. I've tried to be friends with her. I've tried to gain her trust, but you know what? Every time I do, I get burned. So this is all you have to do. Just say no to this men's line, and then I won't have to worry about that happening to our son.
Thomas: So what do you think my dad'll decide?
Brooke: I don't know. I hope he'll give it the okay.
Thomas: Oh. (Sighs) Thomas Forrester.
Thomas: Hey, Dad.
Ridge: I've made a decision
Thomas: Uh, okay. Brooke's here. Let me put you on speaker.
Ridge: Look, I've given this a lot of thought. It's a very dicey time in the fashion world right now. We cannot afford any big missteps. I'm not sure I'm comfortable taking the kind of risk involved in rolling out a revamped men's line. But I trust you, especially with Brooke by your side.
Thomas: (Chuckles) Let me get this straight. So what you're saying is that--
Ridge: The men's line by Thomas Forrester is officially in business. You, my son, are very lucky to have Brooke in your corner.
Thomas: Thank you, Dad.
Thomas: Thank you so much.
Brooke: Thank you, Ridge.
Ridge: Don't disappoint me.
Thomas: Oh, no, we won't.
Thomas: Can you believe it?
Brooke: No. This--this is so exciting.
Brooke: Oh, my goodness.
Thomas: My dad's right. I am so lucky to have you here, or else none of this would be happening. I--
Brooke: No, I-I don't believe that.
Brooke: You would have made this happen with or without me. You have that Forrester drive, that confidence, the ability to make things happen. (Sighs) I feel like I've stepped back in time, like I'm talking to Ridge for the very first time all those years ago. I said it before. You are the future of this company. You're a star. You're handsome. You're intelligent. You're artistic, creative, everything that Ridge is. You are so much like your father. (Chuckles)
Taylor: What are you doing? Take your hands off of him. You keep your filthy hands off my son!
Brooke: (Scoffs) (Sighs)
