Brooke: Oh, you should have gone straight home. I can update everybody on Stephanie's condition.

Ridge: Just make sure you mention what the doctor said, okay? She has to be in a positive attitude all the time. The surgery's just the beginning. She's got a very rough road ahead. She's gonna need a lot of encouragement.

Brooke: And she's going to get it.

Ridge: This is the secret she asked you to keep, isn't it? You've known about her cancer for a while.

Brooke: I'm sorry. I begged her to tell you.

Ridge: Yeah, the party, the slide, all that-- it all makes total sense now. She had to be so scared.

Brooke: But she's willing to move forward now. She's ready to fight this.

Ridge: Because of you. Thank you. (Sighs)

Nick: I love you, Mother.

Nick: (Chuckles) And I hope he's worth it.

Whip: Hey, Boss.

Nick: Hey.

Whip: Just on my way to see you.

Nick: Uh-huh.

Whip: Seen these? Amber's latest.

Nick: Yeah. Yeah, I have.

Whip: What do you think?

Nick: What do you think?

Whip: It's a bit of a departure.

Nick: Yeah. Different. Provocative and...

Whip: Mm-hmm.

Nick: Interesting.

Whip: Kind of like the woman who designed them?

Aggie: I thought we were friends, Amber.

Amber: You aren't acting very friendly.

Aggie: You're hitting on my boyfriend.

Amber: Okay, listen. I have had very few close girlfriends in my life. Don't ask my why. But, uh, the whole jealousy thing, it's just-- it's not cool.

Aggie: I'm gonna say this one time. You stay away from Nick.

Brooke: It wasn't me.

Ridge: You're the one that's been supporting her.

Brooke: I'm not the one who gave her the strength to go through with the surgery. You can thank Dayzee for that.

Ridge: The homeless girl?

Brooke: Mm-hmm. She saw what Dayzee was doing to try to help others, and it inspired her.

Ridge: Inspired her to fight this cancer, really?

Brooke: To live long enough to make a real difference.

Ridge: Oh, Mother's always participated in charity work.

Brooke: Yeah, but this is different, Ridge. She's a changed woman. She wants to make the lives better of the people that have so little. She wants to help them. She wants to fight for their dignity. And I want to help her.

(Knock on door)

Thomas: Hey, Dad?

Ridge: Yeah.

Thomas: Oh, Brooke.

Brooke: Oh, hi.

Thomas: How's Grandma?

Ridge: The surgery went well.

Thomas: Did they get the cancer? Is she gonna be okay?

Ridge: Uh, it's not really that simple, but, uh, so far, so good.

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm gonna let you two talk.

Ridge: Okay.

Thomas: Actually, Brooke, can you stay? I wasn't really planning on getting into this yet, but since you're both here, uh, I have something I want to show you. I'm pretty excited about it.

Nick: Yeah, Amber is certainly one of a kind. Of course, you should know. You're the one who brought her aboard.

Whip: Yeah, well, maybe I should have thought that through a little bit more.

Amber: Look, Nick's an impulsive guy. But the two of you have been taking it slow. I'm thinking there's gotta be a reason for that.

Aggie: Yeah, we've both been through a lot.

Amber: Has he even told you he loves you? Because if he felt it, he would say it, and I bet he hasn't.

Aggie: You don't know anything about my relationship with Nick and what we share.

Amber: Oh, he saved your life. He's your hero.

Aggie: He's my boyfriend, and that's all I should have to say about it.

Nick: So... you have a problem with Amber?

Whip: Yeah, I have my concerns. Don't you?

Nick: Well, maybe you should tell me what your concerns are.

Whip: Well, like for instance, why was she hired to fill in for Bridget and then suddenly become lead designer?

Nick: Well, it's not like this is her first line.

Whip: Look, I'm not disputing Amber's talent, Nick. I mean, is she Bridget? That's...

Nick: Bridget doesn't work here anymore.

Whip: Yeah, and she's also not your wife.

Whip: Listen, you and Aggie are seeing each other now, and, uh, from what I understand, you're getting kind of serious. Nick, I saw you and Amber in your office earlier. Now I don't know what was going on, but I'm gonna tell you how it looked.

Nick: Well, she was excited about her promotion, yes.

Whip: Yeah, I'm sure. Excited and very grateful, I'm sure. Nick, we both know what Amber is like, and we both know what Amber's capable of to get what she wants.

Nick: What she wants is for this line to be a hit. That's what we all want. That's what we should all be focusing on right now.

Whip: Hey, you're preaching to the choir, Nick. I-I've had about enough challenges to deal with in this office lately. But as P.R. for Jackie M. and also Aggie's cousin, I gotta ask.

Nick: Well, so ask.

Whip: Is this gonna be an issue?

Nick: I care about Aggie.

Whip: Okay, but you're not gonna deny that Amber is definitely vying for a position.

Nick: I care about Aggie. I respect her. I won't hurt her.

Whip: Well, that's good to hear. Let's just hope that Amber respects her, too.

Amber: Nick is yours. End of discussion.

Aggie: Well, there never was anything to discuss. Nick and I are involved.

Amber: Ooh, a challenge.

Aggie: (Scoffs) You talk a really big game. I heard that about you. But I also heard you can't back it up. Nick and I are solid.

(Cell phone rings)

Aggie: You can't mess with me. One sec.

Aggie: Hey, Oliver. Insomnia, right. No, I-I didn't forget.

Oliver: Yeah, you did, but its okay. If you leave now, you could be here in five minutes.

Aggie: I can't, actually. I'm sorry. I can't make it.

Oliver: Yeah, me, too. I could have use a dose of your happy vibe.

Aggie: Oliver, come on. Cheer up. Listen, you're gonna get hope back, okay? You just have to keep believing.

Oliver: I will. Thank you.

Aggie: I love you. And I'll definitely see you soon, just not tonight, okay? I've got a lot goin' on. Okay. I will. Bye. So was there something else? Or are we done?

Amber: You've made it very clear where things stand. You're a lot tougher than you look, Sister.

Aggie: Try interfering in my life again. You'll see just how tough I can be.

Amber: You know what I love more than a challenge? A dare.

Aggie: I'm scared. Give it up, Amber. I'm not afraid of you.

Thomas: I've been sketching a lot lately.

Brooke: Really?

Thomas: Yeah.

Brooke: Thomas, that's great.

Ridge: You kind of let that go for a long while.

Thomas: Yeah, yeah, I did. But, you know, all this stuff with Grandma has got me thinking. You know, like what she said at her party-- uh, all we have is the present. Make the most of it. Stop saying no all the time. And I realized that I was saying no to myself. No, that there wasn't enough room for another designer at Forrester. No, that my stuff wasn't good enough. So... (Chuckles) If she can build a slide in her living room, then I can show this to you. Okay.

Ridge: A tux.

Thomas: Yes.

Brooke: These are designs for the men's line. Hmm.

Thomas: Well, we haven't really had a men's line in the last few years. We've put out specialty items and a few pieces a season, never a whole collection.

Ridge: Hmm. You must have a dozen sketches in here.

Thomas: I have more at home.

Ridge: "The men's line by Thomas Forrester."

Brooke: Nice.

Thomas: I want to be a subsidiary, in-house. I'll handle my own P.R. and my own advertising. I've already started making contacts, uh, publicity, importers.

Ridge: Now hold on. Hold on.

Thomas: I-I haven't told them what I'm working on yet, but I do have a network in place. I'm ready, Dad. This is what I want. This is how I can make my mark on the company. What do you think?

Ridge: These designs are very good. A few could go to the pattern maker right now.

Brooke: Oh.

Thomas: Really?

Ridge: I'm just not sure this is the right time to rebrand the men's line. We're right in the middle of rebooting the bedroom line.

Thomas: Well, that's Steffy's thing.

Ridge: You want to do something on your own, something to set yourself apart, right?

Thomas: Yes.

Ridge: As a subsidiary, you'd have complete control over the line. The profits, of course, would go back into Forrester's pockets, but you would be in charge.

Thomas: (Sighs)

Ridge: Is that what this is about?

Thomas: No. No.

Brooke: No. (Sighs)

Thomas: This isn't about Steffy or her 25%. I know I can do this, Dad. The men's line is a proven winner. We've let it slide the last few years because you and Granddad can't handle anything else.

Brooke: A fresh look on the classic. (Sighs)

Thomas: Exactly. That's--that's where I'm coming from.

Brooke: This is the suit that will get you that corner office.

Thomas: Or the girl of your dreams.

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Ridge: All right. I'll think about it.

Thomas: That's all I can ask. (Sighs) Thanks, Dad.

Ridge: All right, I have a meeting with marketing. Please tell me if you find anything out from the hospital, okay?

Brooke: I will.

Thomas: Thank you for the support.

(Door closes)

Brooke: (Laughs) No, after all the support you've given me? I am happy to return the favor.

Thomas: Wow. (Laughs)

Brooke: (Laughs)

Nick: (Sighs) Did I forget a meeting or something or...

Aggie: No, and I just checked. You don't have anything on your schedule for a couple of hours.

Nick: Oh, okay. Good. Um, that gives us a little time to talk.

Aggie: Not exactly what I had in mind.

Nick: Yeah, yeah, me either, but, um... something's come up.

Aggie: Something or someone?

Nick: What?

Aggie: Amber, right? She was just in here. She hit on you. (Chuckles) She was just here bragging about it.

Nick: (Sighs) Well, okay then. Just--just let this go, okay? She knows that I'm involved with you.

Aggie: Well, if she didn't before, she certainly does now.

Nick: What did you do?

Aggie: Nothing, just...

Nick: Uh--

Aggie: I made my position clear.

Nick: I don't want any arguing around this office. No. No more drama. I want some peace.

Aggie: That's what I told her.

Nick: Well, good. Hopefully, you worked all of this out, and the two of you are friends.

Aggie: Amber doesn't have girlfriends. To her, all women are competition, and all men are prey.

Amber: (Thinking) Oliver Jones, Aggie's brother, look out. "Hurricane Ambrosia" is about to strike.

Nick: Look, I don't want you worrying about this.

Aggie: I'm not. And I have never been happier.

Nick: I don't want you to feel threatened.

Aggie: Why should I? Amber can't do anything to me.

Amber: Oh! Oh, my--

Oliver: Are you okay?

Amber: Oh, I just-- yeah, I-I-I'm fine.

Oliver: Here, let me-- let me help you up.

Amber: I think I can-- oh, my. Oh! (Gasps) Oh. Oh. Aah.

Oliver: Amber. Amber.

Amber: (Sighs)

Oliver: Are you okay?

Amber: (Sighs) I feel like such a klutz. Um, I--

Oliver: It might be a sprain. Sit. Sit. All right?

Amber: (Moans)

Oliver: Can you--

Amber: (Sighs)

Oliver: Excuse me, can you get her a bag of ice, please?

Amber: Oh, Oliver. You don't have to do that. I mean, it's--it's my own fault. I just--I wasn't watching where I was going, so let's just, uh-- (Chuckles) (Sighs) Well, aren't you a gentleman?

Oliver: (Chuckles)

Amber: (Sighs) It's these ridiculous shoes. I mean, they're gorgeous, but they're definitely not made for walking.

Oliver: You obviously came for coffee. Could I buy you one?

Amber: That would be wonderful. Um, a skinny latte.

Oliver: Thanks. May I?

Amber: Please. (Chuckles) (Sighs)

Oliver: Where's it hurt? Here?

Amber: No, uh, mm.

Oliver: Better?

Amber: Yeah, much. I just-- I'm usually not so clumsy. I just don't know what's gotten into me today.

Oliver: It might be the new big promotion you got.

Amber: (Sighs)

Oliver: Huh?

Amber: Aggie told you.

Oliver: Hope you don't mind. (Chuckles) Fashion can be pretty hush-hush, but she's my big sis. We tell each other almost everything.

Amber: So you and Aggie are really close?

Oliver: Yeah. We tell each other everything. (Chuckles) Feel better?

Amber: I just, I think I should stay put for a bit.

Oliver: And if you have nowhere you need to be, you could stay here and keep me company. Just chill. Leave everything to me. I'll take care of you.

Amber: Hmm.

Brooke: I agree with your father. I would put this whole group into production.

Thomas: Honestly?

Brooke: Absolutely. No revisions.

Thomas: Approval from the best.

Brooke: (Chuckles)

Thomas: What about the others?

Brooke: Oh, that's mostly your father's department

Thomas: Come on, Brooke. The men's line was your baby. We've never even done suits before you. (Stammers) Forrester was strictly couture until you changed the game, made a fortune in sales.

Brooke: Labor of love.

Thomas: You'd like to see it come back full force, wouldn't you?

Brooke: Heck, yeah. And with those designs, it would be stronger than ever.

Thomas: Mm, well, I'm not so sure about this one.

Brooke: (Sighs) Just thin out the tie a little bit, and trim up the lapels. And I think that would be one of my favorites.

Thomas: (Sighs) That's it. You're amazing.

Brooke: (Laughs) Thank you.

Thomas: So what about it? The new men's line. You think I should go for it?

Brooke: Absolutely. I think it's a fabulous idea. And I think you're ready for it.

Thomas: Wow. (Chuckles) For you to say that... you, you know, Brooke Logan Forrester, the--the inventor of Belief, the founder of the original men's line, not to mention Brooke's bedroom. I... (Sighs) The timing feels right, doesn't it?

Brooke: It's really great to see your ambition and your focus. I admire that. It's beautiful, really, to see a young man coming into his own.

Thomas: I want you to work with me, Brooke.

Brooke: Oh, Thomas. You have your whole future ahead of you. You don't need me.

Thomas: Well, are you kidding? The men's line without Brooke? I mean, you created it, made it a huge success. I wasn't sure I could even pull this off. But with you by my side, no one can stop us

Brooke: Boy, this is really weird. It's just reminding me of all those times that I spent with Ridge creating and designing and working together.

Thomas: (Chuckles)

Brooke: And now it's going to be you and me.

Thomas: So you're with me? We're a team?

Brooke: I do want this for you, Thomas. I do. I know how hard it's been for you here. I know that you have been feeling left out, and you can't really find your proper place at Forrester. I get it. It hurts. (Sighs) For as long as I've been here, I'm still barely hanging by a thread. But you know what we're gonna do? (Chuckles) We are going to take this new men's line, your new men's line, and we're gonna make people stand up and take notice.

Thomas: I'm ready.

Brooke: (Giggles)

Thomas: (Sighs)

Brooke: I know you are.

Thomas: Gosh, there's no one else I'd rather share this experience with. You're really something, Brooke.

Brooke: You're the future of Forrester Creations. You do know that, don't you?

Thomas: It means a lot to me that you think so.

Brooke: You're stepping into the role that your father groomed for you all these years.

Thomas: (Chuckles)

Brooke: You look like him. You act like him.

Thomas: (Groans)

Brooke: You have his sensitivity. You have his charm. You have his vision-- that most of all. You are so much like your father. (Laughs)
