Bill: Yeah? Really? Hmm. Send her in. Well, well. Steffy Forrester. You know, I woke up this morning. I thought it was gonna be just another day. What a surprise.
Steffy: Mm, a pleasant one, I hope.
Bill: That depends why you're here.
Steffy: Well, I got a proposition for you, one I think you're gonna get a real kick out of.
Liam: I could do this all day.
Hope: It's a risky move kissing me in my dad's office.
Liam: I know. I know. But, hey, I had to risk it. I'm just--just... (sighs) glad he didn't walk in. (Chuckles)
Hope: Well, lucky for you, he is out of the building today. I'm just borrowing his office to do some promo stuff...
Hope: For ‘Hope for the Future’. I'm just trying to avoid the photo studio, you know?
Liam: Yeah, I know.
Hope: (Sighs) I'm really happy that you came by today. Kind of made my day.
Liam: Kind of made my day, too.
Steffy: I'm worried about your product, Bill.
Bill: Are you?
Bill: Oh, I am so moved by your concern, but my products are flourishing. We can't keep Spencer Magazines on the rack, and our web site hits have more than doubled over the last six months.
Steffy: Yeah, maybe so, but it's not gonna hold up, 'cause all you're really selling is scandal and gossip.
Bill: And, oh, how it sells.
Steffy: Oh, come on, Bill. You're better than that. You need to be focusing on-- on style and upcoming trends.
Bill: (Snores) Oh, I'm sorry. How--how rude. But you're putting me to sleep.
Steffy: All right, you-- you think you're riding high right now, but, hey, it's not gonna last, which is why I'm here. I got a plan, something that could do great things for both of us. Oh, you interested? Of course you are.
Hope: So what do you think? Which one of these should I use for, you know, ‘Hope for the Future’ campaign stuff?
Liam: My God, you're so gorgeous in all of 'em, but-- but, uh, personally, my favorite? This one, 'cause it's the most you.
Hope: I was thinking the exact same thing.
Hope: Great minds think alike, clearly.
Liam: I wish I didn't have to go, but I think I have to get back to the office, check in with my dad, you know, just in case he needs some files alphabetized or...
Hope: Are you still getting all the grunt work?
Liam: Yeah, I'm pretty much like a glorified gofer. I don't think he trusts me with anything except making him coffee and, uh, making copies. But, I mean, both of us are new to the whole father/son thing, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to get to know him.
Hope: You know what? You guys are both still finding your footing with each other. You just gotta hang in there, okay? It'll get better.
Liam: Okay, I really have to go...
Hope: (Groans) (Chuckles)
Liam: Before he wonders where I am.
Hope: Oh, hey, where's that, uh, necklace that he gave you?
Liam: Oh. (Sighs) You're right.
Hope: He says that you should wear it with pride, so I think that's what you should do. Here. There. Hmm. Be careful with necklaces. They can get you into a whole lot of trouble.
Bill: Let's hear what you got and don't put me to sleep.
Steffy: All right. Advertising budgets are really tight. And Forrester has all these new lines, but--and we're ready to premiere them, but we need the kind of coverage Spencer Publications can offer. So I-I want to put together an advertising package. I want to put a ton of our ads in your magazine.
Bill: I heard the words "tight" and "budget." I don't give discounts.
Steffy: Well, obviously. Your name's not "Dollar Bill" for nothing. You know, I am willing to pay full asking price.
Bill: The catch?
Steffy: I'd like to think of it as an added bonus. In exchange for buying a ton of your ad space, I want a 10-page spread in "Eye on Fashion," and I want the cover. You give me what I want, and I will give you an exclusive, in-depth interview.
Bill: With whom?
Steffy: With little old me, of course.
Steffy: You can ask me whatever you want. Nothing is off-limits. Seriously, Bill, where are you gonna get a deal like this? And plus...
Steffy: You get to work with me.
Oliver: I know you're busy working. I just need to talk to you.
Hope: Yeah, okay. Sure.
Oliver: I've been-- I've been thinkin' about this a lot. I'm just gonna say it. I miss you. You're all I ever think about. We were so great together. I messed up, but my life's not the same without you. I want you back. What can I do to make that happen? Just say the word, and I'll do it.
Hope: Oliver, I'm sorry.
Oliver: I'm down in the photo studio every day lookin' at pictures of you, but I never see you. How are we supposed to get past this if we never see each other? I messed up. But you've gotta forgive me. Please. Give me another chance.
Steffy: Though I am here at my official capacity as head of P.R., I've also taken over the bedroom line.
Bill: Yeah, I heard about that. You're in. Brooke's out.
Steffy: Mm, it's a new era for Forrester. You know, we have some amazing designs which I'd like to showcase in your magazine.
Bill: Is the new line as good as it was with Brooke?
Steffy: (Chuckles) Even better. Very classy and very, very hot. Come on, Bill. It'll be good for business.
Bill: You'd be wearing the lingerie on the cover?
Bill: I'd get the exclusive and an in-depth exposé?
Steffy: Done and done. So do we have a deal?
Bill: I'll give you six pages in "Eye on Fashion."
Steffy: Ten or no dice.
Bill: (Laughs) Always driving the hard bargain, aren't you?
Steffy: Well, I'm sure you remember.
Bill: How could I forget? All right, since you managed to keep me awake, you've got a deal.
Steffy: Yeah? All right, excellent. Oh, um, by the way, about the interview.
Steffy: I want your son to do it.
Steffy: Yeah, he says he wants to learn about the business from the bottom up, huh? So why not test him out?
Bill: Oh, yeah. You gonna be wearing the lingerie during the interview, as well?
Steffy: Well, I think I'd have to, don't you?
Bill: Oh, well, the young lad is in for a treat, isn't he? You do know he's dating Hope.
Steffy: As a matter of fact, I do.
Bill: Of course you do. You have ulterior motive.
Steffy: And so what if I do? Like I said, this could be a great thing for Spencer Publications and for Forrester, and this could be a huge deal for your son.
Bill: (Chuckles) You know, the kid's a little goofy.
Steffy: Eh, I think he's charming.
Bill: Hmm, well, you know what? You may be just what it takes to bring out the man in him.
Steffy: I can certainly try.
Bill: I have no doubt you will.
Liam: Oh, sorry. Sorry. I'll come back.
Bill: No, no, no, Liam. Come in. You know Steffy.
Liam: Uh, yeah. Hey.
Steffy: Hey. Um, actually, your father and I were just making some business deals, and I'm very excited about it, and I think he is, too.
Bill: Oh, I think it's gonna sell a hell of a lot of magazines.
Liam: More scandal?
Bill: No, no. Legitimate fashion news.
Liam: Oh, right on.
Bill: And you're gonna play a big part in it.
Hope: I care about you a lot, and what we had together was a really beautiful memory, but that's all that it can ever be.
Oliver: Don't say that. There's still a chance for us. We can get beyond that.
Hope: No, Oliver, you can get beyond that, and I can’t. I can't, okay? I've tried. But my feelings changed after what happened between you and my mom.
Oliver: If you could just remember what we had.
Oliver: Hope, this-- this--it's our symbol. It represents all the good times we shared.
Hope: (Sighs) May--maybe for you it does, okay? But for me, that represents a very dark time in my life that I don't want to revisit. Oliver, I don't ever want to see that necklace again. I'm really sorry. And I hate hurting you like this. But I have to be honest with you. It is over between us. I'm with Liam now, and... you have to let me go.
Liam: Are you serious? You're really gonna let me do the interview?
Bill: You want to learn fashion journalism? Now's your big chance.
Liam: Oh, my God. Oh, my God, this is awesome.
Liam: L-l-listen, this is such an incredible opportunity. I'm so grateful. Thank you, sir.
Liam: Yeah, Dad. Yeah. Thank you. Thank you, Dad.
Bill: All right, now look. This is, uh, you know, a huge deal. I don't want some tired, run-of-the-mill interview. This is the launch of Steffy's lingerie line. It's a big opportunity for you.
Liam: Oh, no. Yeah, I know. This is, like--this is epic. You have my word. I'll do my absolute best.
Bill: I know you will. I have faith in you.
Steffy: Hey, and by the way, you're--you're gonna have a-a blast. I promise you. Like, my lingerie line is not boring at all. (Chuckles)
Liam: (Chuckles) I'm--I am sure that's true. Wow, well, uh, if you guys don't mind, I actually have someone I have to go see, so, uh, yeah. Peace.
Steffy: (Laughs) Wow. All right. Well, you know, I-I think he's gonna go see Hope. And, you know, she may have a problem with this assignment.
Bill: It's business, isn't it?
Steffy: You're right. Yes. Yes. Strictly business. You know, I think you should be thanking me.
Bill: For what?
Steffy: Mm, gettin' you back to some old-fashioned reporting. Hey, you--you're really gonna like my designs. And your son and I, we're gonna have a lot of fun together.
Bill: Yeah, well, just take it easy on him, killer.
Steffy: Mm, he's in good hands. I promise you.
Liam: Hope? Oh, man.
Liam: I'm so glad--
Hope: I thought, uh, you had to be at work.
Liam: I know. I was. I-I had to see you. Come here.
Hope: Oh. (Laughs) Wow. What--what's gotten into you?
Liam: (Laughs) Um, well, great news.
Liam: My dad gave me my first big assignment.
Hope: Seriously? That's--what is it? What is the job?
Liam: I'm covering something at Forrester.
Liam: Yeah. Yeah.
Hope: Oh, my God. Oh, please tell me it's ‘Hope for the Future’. Please.
Liam: Oh, no, I wish. Oh, I wish. No, it's--it's the-- it's the bedroom line.
Hope: Oh. Oh. Uh, you're--you're covering Steffy's bedroom line.
Liam: Yeah, but--okay, yeah, but 10-page exclusive for "Eye on Fashion," and my dad wants me to do the whole thing. (Stammers) Isn't that crazy?
Hope: It's a-amazing. It's fantastic. Uh, congratulations.
Liam: (Laughs) Thank you.
Oliver: Hey, Steffy.
Steffy: Oliver, what's up? I haven't seen you in a while.
Oliver: You look happy.
Steffy: Well, I just had a meeting with Bill Spencer, making some business deals for Forrester and for me. So, yeah, I think I am happy. What's going on with you? Oh, let me guess. Starts with "h," ends in "e."
Oliver: I tried talkin' to Hope again.
Steffy: And she still won't listen?
Oliver: She's still hung up on this Liam guy.
Steffy: Well, what? Did you tell her that you're crazy about her? She's amazing? All the flowery stuff girls like to hear?
Oliver: About a million times. But she said everything changed after what happened with her mother at the graduation party. I didn't know it was her mom!
Steffy: Well, sweet virginal Hope thinks you should have known.
Oliver: She's right, you know. I should have. Man, I'm a mess. I can't eat. I can't sleep. I can't concentrate. All I can think about is her. What can I do, Steffy? How can I turn this around? You've gotta have some brilliant idea to get Hope back.
Steffy: I don't get how all these guys fall for Hope. You know, making her out to be "little miss perfect."
Oliver: She's perfect for me.
Steffy: Look, Oliver, I-I hate to say this, but maybe Hope doesn't think you're perfect for her.
Oliver: I really don't need to hear that right now.
Steffy: Look, I-I know. But I-I know what it feels like to go through something like this, when you-- when you're into somebody, and they want something else.
Oliver: One night. One night ruined my life. I lost everything that matters. This necklace meant so much to me. It gave me new hope in my life. It was the first time I really fell in love. Hope wants me to get rid of it, but I-I can’t. It reminds her of that terrible night.
Steffy: Well, maybe it's time to let her go.
Oliver: No, I-I can’t. She's the sweetest, most beautiful girl I've ever met. I don't think I'll ever be able to get over her.
Steffy: Well, maybe you have to.
Oliver: Can't-- can't you do something, Steffy? I mean, you're gorgeous. Liam is Bill Spencer’s son. He's right up your alley. Aren't you the least bit attracted to him? I mean, if you went after him...
Steffy: If I went after him, it doesn't guarantee Hope's gonna go back to you.
Oliver: No, but it'd give me an opening.
Steffy: Oliver, don't set yourself up like that. If it's meant to be, then it's meant to be.
Oliver: I'm not giving up. I can’t. And I'm not going to.
Liam: Hey, you don't have anything to worry about.
Hope: I'm not worried. No, why would I be?
Liam: Um, because Steffy's involved. I mean, come on. Admit it. That can't make you too happy.
Hope: (Sighs) It's just, I now she's interested in you.
Liam: Okay, well, I'm not interested in her.
Hope: Well, Steffy kind of has a way of making guys interested in her.
Liam: Not this one. But, Hope, if you don't want me to do it, I won’t.
Hope: No, no, no. I want you to do it. I do. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made you think that I didn’t.
Liam: I know you guys have a lot of history. I-I do. I know that. But I promise you-- I promise you I won't let that be a problem.
Hope: I know. And you know what? This isn't about Steffy right now. This is about you. And I trust you completely.
Liam: Good. Steffy may be the girl I have to work with, but you're the girl I want.
Steffy: Don't give up, Oliver. Liam and Hope-- their days are numbered.
