Hope: (Sighs) (Laughs)
Liam: I love you.
Ridge: Someone sure looks happy.
Hope: Um, yeah, I-I am. I am definitely happy. I-I didn't know you guys were home.
Brooke: Yes, we got here a little while ago.
Hope: You did?
Brooke: And we should admit... (Sighs) We saw you with Liam.
Hope: He's a great guy, Oliver. I care about him... a lot.
Oliver: Liam? What--what are you doing here?
Liam: Can we-- can we talk?
Oliver: What do you want me to say? Congratulations, you won? You stole my girl!
Liam: That's not what happened, but we--we do have to talk about Hope.
Hope: You saw me and Liam together.
Ridge: It was not our intention, Sweetheart, to spy on you.
Ridge: We just came home, and you were out there.
Hope: Okay, look, Dad, I know that you have a lot of issues with Liam, but--
Ridge: The guy's been tied to some pretty horrible stuff that's really affected our family.
Hope: I know. I know he has. But it was not his fault at all. He is not the one who sabotaged Steffy's tribute to Mom.
Brooke: Honey, all your father and I want is for you to be happy.
Hope: Well... I am. I-I think that this is the real deal. (Sighs)
Ridge: Sweetheart, please don't rush this. Give it some time.
Hope: It--it just... it feels so good to--to feel positive again and normal.
Ridge: I think your mom was feeling a little like she ruined things for you.
Brooke: (Sighs) When I heard about you and Oliver...
Hope: I know, but donít. Don't blame yourself, okay? I-I donít. I will never feel the same way about Oliver again. It's changed. But... it's okay, because I have Liam now.
Taylor: Wow! Wow. These are fantastic. Now I want to get back to hearing about this intriguing young man that turned your beautiful head.
Steffy: (Laughs) Well, his name is Liam Cooper.
Taylor: Liam-- are we talking about Bill Spencerís son?
Steffy: All right, I-I used to think he was this, like, nerdy computer tech guy, but I was wrong. He is hot. And I am not the only one who thinks that. Hope definitely agrees.
Oliver: I have nothing to say to you, Liam.
Liam: (Scoffs) Okay, that's--no, that's fine. I'll--I'll do the talking.
Oliver: What are you-- what are you doing here? Did you come here to gloat? What do you want from me?
Liam: Well, if--if you love Hope like you say you do--
Oliver: I do.
Liam: Okay, then-- then you'll do the right thing. You'll back away gracefully, and you'll let her go.
Hope: I can see that you guys aren't exactly thrilled about Liam and me.
Brooke: No, Honey, when I saw that look in your face, the sparkle in your eyes, that joy...
Hope: You're--you're just not sure if you can trust him.
Ridge: Your mother and I just don't want to see you get hurt again.
Hope: The best way that I can describe this is I feel like I have finally come out of a very dark tunnel, and there is this whole bright new world up ahead of me.
Ridge: He makes you that happy?
Hope: I know. I know! I know. I-I-I'm shocked to be feeling something this strong so soon after... you know, I thought it would take months, I mean, years, even. But, you know, Liam, he came into my life, and I don't know, something just changed.
Brooke: The right person can do that. (Sighs)
Hope: And you know what? Once you meet him and get a chance to know him, you'll see that he's a really great guy, so just--just please give him a chance.
Brooke: Anybody who could put a smile like that on your face... (Laughs)
Ridge: Sweetheart, we only worry because we love you.
Hope: I love you guys, too.
Ridge: Well, I'm gonna get back to the office and get some more work done.
Brooke: Okay. (Sighs) Well, that will give us a chance to have some mother/daughter time.
Ridge: Okay. I will see you both later, okay?
Hope: Thanks, Dad. (Sighs) I know what you're thinking. I know you are thinking that this happened really, really fast, but Liam and I have been spending so much time together, and we've become really good friends.
Brooke: And now you're more than friends.
Hope: Yeah... much more. (Sighs) There's, uh, there's only one little problem.
Brooke: What's that?
Taylor: Okay. Okay. But what does Hope have to do with your opinion of Liam?
Steffy: Mom, I am not messing with Hope, if that's what you're thinking.
Taylor: Oh, my gosh.
Taylor: Are Hope and Liam dating?
Steffy: What-- (scoffs) All right, if Hope is afraid of a little competition, then she's hanging out with the wrong guy. William Spencer is the newest, hottest guy in town.
Brooke: Steffy's a problem? How?
Hope: (Sighs) I just don't want it to be like Oliver all over again.
Brooke: Why would it be?
Hope: Because that's just the way she is. You know, I-- she puts herself in places that she has no right to be, and I-I can't believe the way that she pushed herself into Liam and Bill's huge moment together.
Brooke: I'm not following you, Sweetheart.
Hope: Okay, that's-- that's the reason why Liam's here in the first place is because Aunt Katie and I, kind of on the sly, um, tried to get the two of them together to see if they would have any kind of relationship, and it worked. It worked! Bill actually reached out to Liam. Only I wasn't there to see it, and Steffy was. It's just somehow, she--she pushes herself into the middle of--of this big moment between them. (Sighs) You know, and as much as I trust Liam, I-I do not trust Steffy. I mean, you know how she is when she wants something. We all saw what she was like with Oliver, and I-- I just don't want to have to go through that again.
Brooke: Don't worry, Sweetheart. I'm not gonna let that happen.
Taylor: I-I thought that Hope was dating Oliver again. Thank you.
Steffy: Yeah, Oliver thought that, too, but Hope said it was over. She wants to see where things go with Liam.
Taylor: Well, I can't say I blame her for that after what happened with Brooke. But I-I thought you were interested in Oliver.
Steffy: Okay, Mom, I know it looks like I'm playing games with Hope, but, honestly, I-I'm really not.
Taylor: Well, it's going to look that way to her and, more than likely, to Brooke. I want you to be honest with me, Steffy. What is going on here?
Oliver: What's right for Hope, or what's right for you?
Liam: Okay, she told you how she feels, didn't she?
Oliver: She told me you've been spending time together, that you'd been through some terrible emotional ordeal finding your father.
Oliver: He's Bill Spencer.
Liam: Okay, all right.
Oliver: Gosh, we could all have such problems!
Liam: Okay, I didn't-- I didn't come here to talk about me. Hope is a--is a sweet, sensitive girl. You know that about her. It hasn't been easy for her to figure out where she stands on this, but she's done that. She didn't want to hurt you, Oliver, but she knows who she wants, and so I-- I'm ask--I'm asking you-- I'm asking you, for Hope's sake, don't interfere anymore.
Oliver: I love her. I'm not walking away.
Liam: Okay, you know what? I-I-I came here to, man-to-man, do the right thing--
Oliver: The right thing? The right thing would have been keeping your distance! Mr. Forrester.
Ridge: Looks like I showed up just in time.
Ridge: Is there a problem here, Oliver?
Oliver: No, Sir.
Ridge: You want to tell me what you're doing in my building?
Liam: I, uh... I came to talk to Oliver about your daughter.
Ridge: Well, what a coincidence. I was just talking to Hope about you. Oliver, would you mind giving us a moment here?
Liam: (Sighs) (Laughs) Just--just... so, um, I know you may not... want to hear this, but I do really care about your daughter, Mr. Forrester.
Ridge: I am looking out for Hope.
Liam: I know. I know that. I would never hurt her.
Ridge: I'm not so sure, Liam, that we can trust you.
Liam: Well, you have to give me a chance.
Ridge: You know, for some strange reason, she seems to think you're a stand-up guy, and she wants to see what happens with you.
Liam: I-I want that, too, Sir.
Ridge: My advice-- don't disappoint her.
Liam: Mr. Forrester, I-I-I know that you told me to stay away from Hope, and I should have. I-I should have. But... I couldnít. I'm crazy about the girl. I couldn't help myself. I mean, Hope has been there for me in--in ways that nobody has except... my mom. I mean, she--she had every right to hate me. She didn't have to help me, but she did.
Ridge: Look, Hope is a very generous and compassionate person. It's one of the things that makes her so special. But it can also make her a target.
Liam: (Inhales sharply) Um... Mr. Forrester, I-I-I don't--I don't think Hope needs protection. I mean, the girl is fierce. You should have seen her, the way she told my dad off when he told me to get lost. It was--I couldn't-- I couldn't believe it. I mean, I-I don't think he could, either. In fact, I-I really think that's what turned him around. I mean, Hope... Hope sees into people, you know? She--she doesn't fall for anybody's act, not even the great and powerful Bill Spencer. And I really wish she was there when he finally acknowledge me. Even Steffy was moved.
Liam: Yeah. Yeah. She--she just happened to be there at the house when he had his big epiphany. I didn't really peg her for the emotional type, but she said it was one of the most beautiful moments she's ever seen.
Taylor: Well, I-I can see that this experience had a-- had a major impact on you.
Steffy: Yeah. You know what? It was like... like a butterfly coming out of its cocoon. You know, here's this normal guy. He's kind of cute, pretty smart. You know, maybe you would look twice, but I don't know, he just didn't stand out. And how could he? He didn't know who he was. But the moment Bill accepted him, it was just like this... bam! This light went on, and he wasn't just some guy anymore. He was William Spencer III. It is all out there in front of him, his whole future. You know, he's not some nerdy computer tech anymore. Heís... he's got a whole different pedigree now.
Brooke: And that makes Liam very attractive to you, doesn't it, Steffy? Taylor, exercise some judgment here. Tell your daughter to stop playing these childish games.
Steffy: Well, I guess Hope got you all riled up.
Brooke: Steffy, I don't want to fight with you. (Sighs)
Taylor: Why are you here, Brooke?
Brooke: Do you know what's going on?
Taylor: Going on?
Brooke: Steffy is setting her sights on another one of Hope's boyfriends.
Taylor: Well, I-- I thought Hope was--was seeing Oliver.
Brooke: No, they're taking a break.
Taylor: And so suddenly, she just hooks up with Liam, and now they're dating?
Brooke: So you do know about Liam?
Taylor: I--well, I know that Liam is Bill Spencerís son and that they just reunited.
Brooke: (Sighs) Well, Steffy is sniffing around looking for her next conquest.
Taylor: Oh, Brooke, for heaven sakes.
Brooke: Don't you think it's a little odd, Taylor, that your daughter is only interested in the men that Hope is involved with?
Steffy: Brooke, I happen to like Liam, really.
Brooke: Please, I just wish you would find your own boyfriends and leave Hope's alone.
Steffy: Hope doesn't own Liam. (Scoffs)
Brooke: Taylor, aren't you going to say anything?
Taylor: What do want me to say, Brooke? You don't have any right to come in here and tell her how to think and make demands.
Brooke: Look, I'm not here to make demands. My daughter's had a hard time with her life. Her birth father abandoned her. She's had a lot to deal with. And I'm afraid that I may have hurt her by making this mistake... with... Oliver.
Steffy: A mistake? Please.
Brooke: Look, I'm opening up to you...
Brooke: (Sighs) Because I think that Hope is recovering, and she's found a new man that's--that cares about her, that makes her feel good and he's--he's a good young man.
Brooke: Yes, somebody that you weren't interested in before.
Steffy: Yeah, no, I wasn't into Liam. But William Spencer III, now he is the most eligible bachelor.
Brooke: Okay, Steffy, stop.
Steffy: What? What?
Brooke: Please, I'm asking you, both of you, please, just allow Hope and Liam to explore their feelings for each other.
Taylor: I have a meeting.
Hope: (Giggles) Oh, I'm so glad you called.
Liam: Yeah, I had to see you.
Hope: It's only been a couple--
Liam: Too long. (Laughs)
Liam: I'm still, um... I'm still, like, trying to get used to it, you know?
Hope: What happened with your dad?
Liam: Do you know he wants me to work with him?
Hope: No, you didn't tell me that.
Liam: Yeah. I mean, not--and not just as--as an employee, but, like, as his son. Can you believe that?
Hope: I... I'm--I'm just--I'm so proud of you, you know? And I'm so happy! And I'm sorry. I just--I get invested in things...
Liam: Oh, my God. Look at you.
Hope: And I get emotional.
Liam: It's okay.
Liam: You're beautiful when you're emotional. You're always beautiful.
Liam: Um... I was-- I was thinking a lot about... what we said before.
Hope: Mm. Me, too.
Liam: "L" word-- pretty heavy stuff.
Hope: Do you want to take it all back?
Liam: Do you?
Hope: I asked you first.
Liam: I... no, not at all, not a word. I meant everything.
Hope: (Sighs) Me, too. I meant every single word. (Laughs)
Steffy: You're not gonna get Liam, not without a little stiff competition.
