Ridge: This is a private matter. My wife has my complete support. End of discussion.
Brooke: (Sighs) Thank you for handling the press.
Ridge: Well, you've got far too much on your plate already.
Brooke: Yeah, now on top of everything else, I have to deal with Donna selling her shares of the company to Bill instead of to me.
Ridge: I could strangle her, giving Spencer a foothold back in this company.
Brooke: Oh, I know. I-I don't know what she was thinking. I really gotta go talk to her.
Ridge: And I'm gonna go see Hope. I'm gonna try everything I can to get your daughter back home.
Brooke: Thank you. I really don't want her staying over there under Stephanie's influence. I am not going to let your mother steal my daughter.
Stephanie: I'm sorry. I was rooting for you and Oliver.
Hope: Yeah, me, too. But I'll never get over it. You know, I'll never understand what he was thinking.
Stephanie: You just don't think you could forgive him?
Hope: I can forgive him, but I'll never forget.
Stephanie: I kind of thought you two would work things out, but...
Stephanie: I guess what your mom did is... (Sighs) Well, it's just caused too much damage.
Katie: So should we celebrate our victory?
Bill: That felt like a celebration to me.
Katie: (Laughs) I was thinking more like dinner.
Bill: Hmm. Well, you know, I may have gotten 12.5% of Donna's shares, but I've got a long way to go before I gain controlling interest of that company.
(Cell phone rings)
Katie: Don't answer it.
Bill: I have to. That's Jarrett. He's on assignment. What do you got, Jarrett?
Jarrett: (Quietly) Got my eyes on the subject, boss.
Bill: Where is she?
Jarrett: At Bikini Beach.
Bill: I'll be right there.
Katie: (Sighs) What's going on?
Bill: Steffy Forrester. I have to do a little exploratory work, see where her head is now that she's got 25% of Forrester.
Katie: Well, just remember, I'll be right here waiting for you.
Bill: Hmm, how could I forget?
Hope: Look at this. It's everywhere. It's on the internet and in tabloids. Look. "Poor little Hope Logan, betrayed by her mother and her boyfriend." (Sighs) I almost wish I just didn't even know about it. I mean, if Steffy hadn't gone public with it, then...
Stephanie: Hope, she swears to me that she-- that she had nothing to do with it, and I've gotta believe her.
Hope: I don't know. Look, I--all I know is that now the entire world knows about my mother and my boyfriend, and I can't change it. You know? (Sighs) The press is camped out at the gate. I now have to change my-- my e-mail address and my phone number.
Stephanie: Oh, I can help you with that. We'll get that kid that works at the company sometimes on the internet. I'll have him come over and set up the Wi-Fi here for you, as well.
Hope: Okay. Thanks. (Sighs)
Stephanie: I know you want to blame Steffy for all of this, but it's not her fault. It's your mother's responsibility. It's just one more of her damn scandals.
Ridge: All right, that's enough. I want to speak to Hope alone. And I want you to stop disparaging her mother in front of her. Do you understand?
Donna: Taylor gave Steffy a 25% share of Forrester Creations?
Stephen: Brooke, we've been trying to get ahold of you.
Brooke: Obviously, I've been busy, and apparently, so have you. I can't believe what you did, Donna, selling your Forrester shares to Bill instead of to me.
Donna: Brooke, I-I tried to contact you.
Brooke: How could you let him back into the company?
Stephen: Don't be upset with your sister. We all felt this was the right thing to do.
Steffy: Bill Spencer. To what do I owe the displeasure?
Bill: You want me to be honest?
Steffy: Why start now?
Bill: I had you followed.
Steffy: You know, next time hire a better spy. Your little friend Jarrett doesn't exactly blend in at the beach.
Bill: Mm, yeah, I thought that might be a problem.
Bill: So I understand that you have become part owner of Forrester Creations. Congratulations.
Steffy: You know, it's not so much fun being part owner of a company that won't even allow you in the building.
Bill: Thanks. Cheers.
Bill: (Sighs) One more, please.
Bill: So why aren't you allowed into Forrester Creations?
Steffy: My father's orders.
Bill: This wouldn't have anything to do with that tribute to Brooke, would it? You said some pretty damning things.
Steffy: You know, believe it or not, for once, I'm actually innocent. I didn't say any of those things.
Bill: Well, it sure sounded like you.
Steffy: You know, it may have been my voice, but it was doctored somehow. I would never hurt my dad like that. But he is convinced that I did it, when there's some son of a bitch out there who's responsible.
Bill: So your own father doesn't believe you? He should.
Steffy: Yeah, I wish he'd believe me. Instead, he fired me. So I heard you bought Donna's 12.5%. No surprise there. I knew that's why you were getting so involved in my grandfather and Donna's divorce. You said you were gonna get your foot in the door, and you did. Congrats.
Bill: We have something in common, don't we?
Steffy: Hmm, everybody hates us?
Bill: (Chuckles) We're both part owners of Forrester Creations, and neither one of us is allowed in the front door. We ought to do something about that.
Brooke: Let me get this straight. Dad and Katie both encouraged you to sell your shares to Bill, and you went along with it?
Donna: Brooke, I-I-I tried to call you, okay? You never got back to me.
Brooke: (Scoffs) My life has been such chaos. I didn't even realize. Why didn't you just wait to hear from me?
Katie: The sale needed to go through.
Brooke: You were pressing this, weren't you? For your husband's sake.
Donna: Look, I'm--I'm sorry. Okay, I should have offered you the shares first. But... look, Brooke... (Sighs) Bill paid me twice as much as what they're worth. I-I'll split the money with you.
Brooke: No, it's okay. The damage has already been done. (Sighs) I'm not upset with you. Really, I-I know you're going through a lot with losing Mom and your divorce.
Brooke: But you-- I know you have divided loyalties, but, Dad, how could you encourage Donna to sell her shares to Bill?
Stephen: If it weren't for Bill, I would still be in jail.
Brooke: So he helped you out in exchange for turning your back on me?
Stephen: Brooke, listen to me. After years of abuse from the Forresters, we are aligning ourselves with a man of power and influence. And this is gonna be hard for you to understand, but if Donna would have sold you her shares, it'd be like handing them right back to the Forresters. You are a Forrester. That is your name.
Stephen: This was the right decision for the Logans, for our family.
Brooke: So you want Bill to be in control of Forrester.
Stephen: I don't think that would be such a bad idea.
Brooke: And you, Katie? You want to be C.E.O. again?
Katie: I enjoyed running the company. I won't lie about that.
Brooke: (Scoffs) 12.5% isn't exactly controlling interest.
Donna: Okay, could we just stop please? Okay, Brooke, I-I feel bad enough. And you have been going through such an ordeal. We all know that you wouldn't ever do anything deliberately to hurt Hope.
Brooke: Thank you. Your support means a lot to me, especially now.
Stephen: Sweetheart, how is Hope handling all of this?
Brooke: Not so good. She moved out. She now lives with Stephanie. I'm sure Stephanie is doing everything she possibly can to brainwash her.
Stephen: Damn that woman. She has no right to interfere in this family.
Brooke: Dad. Dad, it's okay. Ridge is with Hope trying to get her to understand, trying to convince her to come back home. I'm sure he'll get through to her. I'm sure of it.
Hope: Dad, why aren't you mad at Mom?
Ridge: Because it was a case of mistaken identity. Nothing more.
Hope: How are you so sure about that?
Ridge: Because I know your mother better than anyone. Yes, she's unpredictable, spontaneous, but those are also qualities I've always loved in her. Sometimes she lacks good judgment. This is one of those times. Sweetheart, she would never intentionally hurt you. She told me so many times she wanted that party to be the best night of your life. Please don't let this destroy your relationship with your mother.
Hope: Look, even if this was just some stupid accident, I don't understand how it happened. Okay, how could he think that-- that she was me? It doesn't make sense. I mean, he should have known, Dad. He should have known. Why didn't he know?
Ridge: Because he was a very typical stupid guy. Sweetie, he got carried away. The thought of being with you, the girl he loves, it... look, I was appalled at his lack of responsibility on many different levels. But ultimately, this was a terrible, terrible accident. That's all.
Hope: (Sighs) Dad, I want to believe this was an accident. I really do, but I-- I can't, you know? And... and I don't understand how you can. Are you sure you're not just believing what you want to believe?
Ridge: Sweetheart, they did not know. It was a mistake. I have no doubt in my mind about that.
Hope: (Sighs) You know, I... I don't even know who my mother is.
Ridge: She's someone who loves you very, very much.
Hope: Dad, she didn't even tell us about it, you know? She waited till she got caught. Otherwise, we never even would have known.
Ridge: Actually, your mother did tell me about it. I've known for quite a while.
Hope: And you didn't say anything to me?
Ridge: We made the decision together to not tell you. We were trying to protect you. I didn't see any reason to lay all this on you. Actually, I wish you had never found out. All it's done is damage your beautiful relationship with your mother. Sweetheart, there is a way to work this out. Your mother and I both want you to come home.
Hope: No. No, I can't. I can't do it. I'm staying right here with Stephanie. Being around my mother right now is just... it's too hard, you know. It's--it's too painful.
Stephanie: Ridge, I want to speak to you alone.
Ridge: Sweetheart, remember how much your mother loves you. This is not your home. Your home is with your mother and me.
Stephanie: Hope is staying here.
Ridge: Then stop polluting her mind against Brooke.
Stephanie: Honey, we are never going to see eye to eye when--on anything concerning your wife. I think it's very sweet of you to be worried about Hope, but what about your own daughter, your real daughter? All you've done is ostracize that kid.
Ridge: Look, Steffy will be more than welcome back if she adjusts her attitude.
Stephanie: Right, if she makes nice to your wife. You just refuse to see... (Sighs) You choose-- you choose Brooke over your own children every single time. And once again, she's driven a wedge between you and Steffy.
Steffy: You know, I bet I look pretty sexy to you right now.
Bill: You are in a bikini.
Steffy: Oh, stop being such a guy. I'm talking about my 25% of the company. That is why you're here, right?
Bill: I don't know. Is it?
Steffy: Dollar Bill, how long is it gonna take for you to make me an offer?
Bill: You selling?
Steffy: No, because you're not prepared to make me the offer that I want.
Bill: Try me.
Steffy: All right. You put me on your private jet. You get me out of this town, away from everything that I'm dealing with.
Bill: If you ask me, you got shafted by your father, and you deserve better than that.
Steffy: (Chuckles) Katie's a lucky woman. Ahh, I see that you got your sword back on. And Katie has her wedding ring back on. If I could have done it all over again, I would have...
Steffy: I would have appreciated you more.
Bill: Are you comin' on to me again? Trying to get your hot little hands on my 12.5%?
Steffy: Mm, oh, no, Dollar Bill. I am not the one out shopping for more shares of Forrester Creations, am I?
Hope: Hey, is Dad gone?
Hope: Okay. I thought it was really nice of him to come check on me, but, uh, it was just kind of hard listening to him plead for me to come home, you know?
Stephanie: I understand.
Hope: Yeah. (Sighs)
Brooke: Oh, hi. (Sighs) I was just about to call you. How did it go?
Ridge: I had a chance to speak with Hope.
Brooke: And what did you say to her?
Ridge: I told her that I know without a shadow of a doubt that it was an accident.
Brooke: You told her I would never want to do anything to hurt her?
Ridge: Of course, I did. I told her how much you love her and that you want her back. We both do. And I asked her to please come home.
Brooke: Thank you. (Sighs) Okay, so is she-- she out here right now?
Ridge: Logan, Logan, Logan.
Ridge: Come here. Come here.
Ridge: Sweetheart, I saw the look on Hope's face. She misses you. She loves you very much. We are gonna work this out with her, okay?
Brooke: Ridge, I'm really scared. The longer Hope doesn't come home, the more I'm gonna be losing her to Stephanie.
Stephanie: You're safe now, sweetheart. You're not gonna have to talk to your mother or see her or be around her anymore. I promise you that. You'll be safe here. I'm here for you.
Ridge: Hope will forgive you. We're gonna get her back. I promise you. We're gonna have her back.
Brooke: (Sighs) Okay.
