(Doorbell rings)

Bridget: (Sighs)

Bridget: Mom? Uh, c-come in.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bridget: Is the press hounding you?

Brooke: (Scoffs) They're everywhere like vultures lying in wait.

Bridget: Oh, sorry.

Brooke: Yeah, me, too. Thank you, honey, for calling me last night and letting me know that Hope was here. You know, I wanted to rush right over, but I-I realized she probably wouldn't want to see me. Is she still sleeping?

Bridget: No. No. She got up and left already.

Brooke: To go where?

Bridget: I don't know. She wouldn't say.

Stephanie: Hope.

Hope: Hi, um, can I please come in before one of these, uh, reporters sees me?

Stephanie: Certainly. Come on.

Hope: Thanks. (Sighs) Um, Stephanie, I-I really need to talk to you.

Steffy: Thanks for coming, Liam.

Liam: Yeah, no problem. Wow. (Chuckles) Some house.

Steffy: Yeah, one of the advantages of still living at home with my mom.

Liam: (Chuckles) I'm sorry. Why did-- why did you want to see me?

Steffy: Well, someone hacked into my computer and sabotaged this tribute video I made for my stepmom at yesterday's press conference and basically ruined my entire life. So now I want answers.

Liam: Um... uh, wow. The, uh, the way you're looking at me right now, you don't, like, suspect me, do you?

Steffy: Well, at this point, I suspect everyone.

(Doorbell rings)

Steffy: Ed. (Sighs) I'm glad you're here.

Ed: Well, you did say it was important.

Steffy: Yes, it is. Ed, this is Liam.

Liam: Oh.

Ed: Nice to meet you.

Liam: Yeah, you--you, too.

Steffy: Ed is an I.T. investigator. Liam is a computer whiz.

Ed: Oh.

Liam: Uh...

Steffy: I'm hoping with both your help, we can figure out who sabotaged me.

Jason: So how bad is it?

Oliver: Hope doesn't want to speak to me. I left her a bunch of messages. Nothin'.

Jason: Man, I've never seen you like this over a girl.

Oliver: I've never been in love before.

Jason: Well, just keep callin' her. That's all you can do.

Oliver: Yeah. Voice mail. Hey, Hope, it's me again. Call me, please. I really need to talk to you.

Aggie: Oliver, hey. What's up? I came just as soon as I--what?

Oliver: Jason Castro, my sister Aggie.

Jason: Hey.

Aggie: Hi. I know. I-I'm a big fan.

Jason: Oh, thank you.

Oliver: Hope's a big fan of Jasonís music. He's gonna help me put something special together for her if she'll give me the chance.

Jason: Yeah. Well, I'll let you two talk. I'm gonna check out the beach.

Oliver: Thanks, man.

Jason: See ya, guys.

Oliver: Enjoy it.

Aggie: He's gonna check out the beach. (Giggles) It's Jason Castro. Hey, what is going on? It's all over the news about you and Hope's mother Brooke Logan.

Oliver: (Sighs) Yeah, it's a long story. It was all a big mistake, all right? Brooke thought I was Ridge. I thought she was Hope. I-I know it sounds crazy. It is crazy, right, the whole thing. I'm dying a little here knowing I hurt her so much. You know I'd never do anything to hurt Hope like that.

Aggie: It's a pretty amazing story. But if you say that it was an accident, of course I believe you. Come on.

Oliver: Thanks, sis. Now if I could just get Hope to listen to me. She won't return my calls or answer my messages. I mean, I'm freakin' dying here. I gotta find... I gotta find a way to make this right.

Brooke: (Sighs) Hope is still not answering her phone.

Bridget: Well, Mom, she's really hurt, upset. You're gonna have to give her some time. She's strong. She'll find her way.

Brooke: How was she last night?

Bridget: Oh, she's devastated. Her world is completely rocked. She didn't know where else to go. Obviously, we have something in common. You know, it's all over the news, Mom. It's in the paper today. It's all over the press. News is spreading fast.

Brooke: I know. The press has been calling the house nonstop. (Sighs)

Bridget: I just can't believe this is happening again.

Stephanie: How are you?

Hope: Um, I-I don't know. Really, I... I feel numb, you know, but confused. You know, I couldn't even go home last night. I couldn't face my mother. I-I stayed at Bridgetís.

Stephanie: Yes, Ridge told me that. I hope you understand that I had absolutely nothing to do with anything that happened at that press conference.

Hope: No, yeah, I know. That's, um, that's not why I'm here. Uh... (sighs) look, I-I know all the things that you've said about my mother over the years, all the bad things. Um, and I realize that you have no use for my mother at all, but I-I have to ask you... do you think that she knew she was with Oliver? Is she that cruel, really? I mean, would she do something like that to me? [ Sighs ]

Ed: So you want me to go into your computer and find out who tampered with your files?

Steffy: Exactly. You think you can do that?

Ed: Well, I can try.

Steffy: Here.

Ed: I'll check back with you when I have some more information.

Steffy: Great. Thank you.

Ed: Good day.

Steffy: See you. Look, um, I know it seems like an overkill having both you guys work on this, but I have to figure out how this happened. You know, I have a lot riding on this-- my relationship with my father most of all. I gotta prove to him I didn't do this. So the burning question is, who did?

Aggie: Wow, that is, uh, some story.

Oliver: I know. It sounds pretty unbelievable, but I swear it's the truth.

Aggie: I-I can kind of see how you might have thought that you were with Hope.

Oliver: I did. I did. I--honestly, right? I never even thought for one second.

Aggie: Okay, but what about-- what about Brooke? I mean, the Logan women are notorious for sleeping with men that don't belong to them. In fact, Brooke, years ago, slept with her daughter's husband, so how do you know that she didn't realize it was you and not her husband?

Oliver: She-- she didn't know it was me. She didn't even realize what had happened until the next day. Brooke adores Hope. She'd never do anything to hurt her like that. She's--she's as devastated as I am.

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm so sorry to put you in the middle between Hope and me.

Bridget: I'm sorry, too. I'm sorry this whole mess is going on. Listen, Mom...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bridget: With everything that's happened... (Sighs) I just need to ask you a few things.

Brooke: Okay.

Bridget: How much do Hope and I really have in common? You had an affair with my husband, and now, years later...

Brooke: Oh, my God. You can't possibly think that I knew.

Bridget: Well, I don't know, Mom. Did you lure that boy out there to be with him, Hope's boyfriend? I-I mean, I-I hope not. I don't want to ask this, but I--

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bridget: I'd like to know.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Knowing your mother the way I do, yes, honey, I think she probably knew it was Oliver. But you're not convinced of that. Otherwise you wouldn't have asked me that question. You know, Hope, this is probably your first hard lesson in becoming an adult. Do yourself a favor. Put some distance between you and your mother. Move out of that house. I'm sorry to say something like that, but I just... I don't think you can trust your mother.

Hope: And what about Oliver?

Stephanie: Well, I don't know Oliver that well. He's probably the innocent in all of this. And I mean, I know he tells you that he loves you. So maybe he does deserve a second chance. I don't think that he should be punished for what your mother did and has done before.

Steffy: I want a full investigation. Check the security cameras, everything. Yes, I am taking a temporary leave of absence. But I will be back as soon as I can prove who hacked into my computer. All right, thank you. Forrester security's looking into it, too.

Liam: Wow, you're really, uh, determined to get to the bottom of this.

Steffy: Because I didn't do it. You believe me, don't you?

Liam: Yeah. Yeah, I-I believe you.

Steffy: Oh, thank God. Look... (sighs) I have done some harsh things in the past, but I would never do anything as horrible as this publically to my family or the family's business.

Aggie: So Steffy leaked it in the press conference? She's responsible for the whole mess.

Oliver: Yeah, I still can't believe she did it. I thought she was above all that. I guess I gave her too much credit. So what, uh, what's going on with you? I got your text about some fabulous news. I've been kind of distracted. Sorry.

Aggie: Yeah, I noticed. I do have some pretty-- pretty good news.

Oliver: I could use some.

Aggie: (Laughs) Um, I opened myself up to a guy for the first time since my attack.

Oliver: Seriously?

Aggie: Yeah.

Oliver: Nick?

Aggie: (Giggles)

Oliver: (Chuckles)

Aggie: He's separated, you know.

Oliver: That's kind of a landmark, huh, after all these years?

Aggie: Uh, that's how it feels to me right now.

Oliver: Well, at least things are going well for one of us.

Aggie: Hey, I want you to listen to me, okay? You're the best guy that I know, and Hope, she's gonna realize that you love her and that you would never intentionally hurt her.

Oliver: Thanks.

Aggie: Oh, come here. And just don't stop fighting for Hope. Whatever you do, don't stop fighting for her.

Oliver: No way. I'm not giving up on Hope, not even close.

Bridget: Well, answer me, Mother. Did you know it was Oliver?

Brooke: No. No, of course not. (Sighs) Look, I understand why you doubt me, and I don't blame you for that, but I swear I did not know it was Oliver. Please, sweetie, you've got to believe me. I'm telling the truth.

Bridget: I'm sure it did start out as an accident. But, Mom, I mean, come on. Didn't you notice at some point that it--it was different?

Brooke: No. No, I-I did not, and if I did, I definitely would have put a stop to it. Honey... (sighs) I would never want to betray Hope that way. You know that.

Bridget: Okay.

Brooke: (Sighs) I have to ask you something. What did you say to her? Did you tell her that I would never want to hurt her? Bridget, I have to know what you said to my daughter.

Hope: I don't know. I mean, one minute, I-I believe Oliver. You know, I do, and then the next... I-I'm not sure.

Stephanie: Well, it's very confusing. That's understandable.

Hope: (Sighs) It... it's hard, you know, 'cause I still really love him. But I don't know if this is something that we can get past. (Sighs) The thing is, is that even if it had been me that he was with, I was waiting for the right time. You know, I was waiting for something really special, and he knew that. He knew it. How could he think that I would want my first time to be outside at a party somewhere?

Stephanie: Men are men. Listen, um, you've been through a tremendous ordeal, and I personally think it's just beginning because of all the publicity.

Hope: (Sighs)

Stephanie: Would you like to come and stay here with Eric and me?

Hope: Stay here with you?

Stephanie: Yeah. You can have the guesthouse. You'll have all the privacy in the world.

Hope: Oh, wow. That's really-- that's really nice. But, um, I'm not sure if that's really a good idea.

Stephanie: I think you need some space from your mother. And the guesthouse is quiet, peaceful, just what you need.

Hope: Yeah, okay. Yeah, um, that sounds good, just until I get things sorted out.

Stephanie: Sure.

Hope: Yeah, thank you.

Stephanie: Okay, then it's settled.

(Cell phone rings)

Hope: (Sniffles)

Hope: (Sighs) Oh, it's Oliver calling me again.

Stephanie: Talk to him.

Hope: Hello?

Oliver: Hope! I've been trying to get ahold of you.

Hope: Yeah, I know.

Oliver: We gotta talk and work this out. I can't stand to be away from you. C-can you come over to the beach house?

Hope: (Whispers) Um, the beach house?

Stephanie: (Whispers) Go see him. Talk to him.

Hope: (Normal voice) Okay, I'll be there.

Oliver: Oh, thank you. I'll see you soon?

Hope: Okay.

Stephanie: (Normal voice) That was a good decision.

Hope: (Sighs)

Hope: God, why does my mother do these things?

Stephanie: (Chuckles) Honey, I am not a psychiatrist. I don't know. But you need to give yourself some distance from her. Get away while you can.

Hope: (Sighs) God, do--do you think my mother is--is, like--

Stephanie: I know your mother has some very deep and profound issues when it comes to men. She's addicted to the attention that she gets from them. She needs it. She craves it.

Hope: Do you think she'll ever change?

Stephanie: I've asked myself that same question for a long, long time. And, uh... I--no. No, I don't, Hope. I think she's incapable of that. Look, go see Oliver. Listen to him. Hear him out. And if it's in your heart to forgive him, then forgive him. And then you come back here, think of this as your new home, and you'll be safe. We'll keep you safe. Okay?

Hope: Yeah, okay.

Steffy: Whoever made that bogus video is going to pay. They ruined everything I worked so hard for. You know, my dad even fired me because of it.

Liam: Yeah, I know. I mean, y-you want to clear your name, get your job back.

Steffy: No, I want to gain my father's trust. That's more important than my-- my job or my reputation. You know, it kills me to know that my dad doesn't believe me.

Liam: Why would your dad think that you'd do something like this?

Steffy: Uh, I've done some things recently that could make him think that I'm guilty. But I-I'm not. I'm innocent, and I'm gonna prove it.

Liam: Yeah, I really do feel bad about what's happened.

Steffy: Thank you. So you'll help me? Please, Liam, I-I-I really, really, need you. I have to figure out how this happened. Just please say you'll come through for me.

Bridget: I completely understand why Hope is so hurt and feels betrayed. And honestly, Mom, it's brought up a lot of those same feelings for me, too.

Brooke: Oh, honey, I'm so sorry.

Bridget: But, look. Just--I thought about it a lot. And Hope wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for what you did with Deacon. It was wrong, and it was very hurtful, but something good did come out of it. And it's just like this baby that I'm carrying. It wasn't created under the best circumstances, but something very good can come out of a bad situation, almost like it... it's meant to be.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bridget: I'm in no position to judge you. I mean, look at me.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Bridget: And I know that you would never hurt Hope on purpose. I do believe you. And that's what I told her. I told her that she should forgive you.

Brooke: (Sighs) (sniffles) Oh. (Sighs) Thank you. (Sighs) Thank you for supporting me and believing me, okay? (Sighs) Now if I can just... (sighs) get Hope to understand and forgive me. And I've got to get to her b-before the press does, you know, before they drag up all that old dirt. Oh, and most importantly, I've got to get to her before Steffy and Stephanie do, and before they brainwash her against me.

(Knock on door)

Oliver: Hi.

Hope: Hi.

Oliver: I'm glad you came. I hope this means you can forgive me. Can you, Hope? Can you... can you find it in your heart to forgive me?
