Ridge: You know everyone's gonna be shocked.
Brooke: (Sighs) Doubtful. Steffy probably already put out a press release.
Brooke: Okay. (Sighs) Maybe not. But I'm sure that Steffy and Stephanie have a party in the works.
Ridge: (Sighs) It's not too late to change your mind here.
Brooke: (Sighs) I wish I could.
Ridge: I know you think you're doing what's best for everyone.
Brooke: I am. Believe me.
Ridge: Are you sure? Are you really ready to leave this company?
Brooke: I have to.
Steffy: Got your call last night. Tell me how the big breakup went. You broke up with her, right?
Oliver: Sort of.
Steffy: What do you mean, "sort of"?
Oliver: Don't do this. Please.
Steffy: I wish I didn't have to.
Oliver: I love her.
Steffy: And I know that.
Oliver: Then--then drop it. Let's say this works. Brooke leaves the company. Hope goes off to school, and--and we start dating. Then what? All's right with the world? All the pain you've been in for all these years just goes away?
Steffy: It's worth a shot.
Oliver: This is blackmail. You know that, right? You found out about something that never should have happened, a-a onetime accident that'll never happen again, and you're using it to hurt a lot of people. I've got a girlfriend that's in tears, because you're running her out of town. You want to be like your grandmother, a bitter, angry woman? 'Cause that's where you're headed.
Steffy: I think you mean ex-girlfriend.
Steffy: Your ex-girlfriend is in tears because I'm running her out of town, Oliver.
Oliver: So that's how it's gonna be?
Steffy: The clock is ticking. Hope better agree to leave for Boston, or I'm gonna tell her about Mommy's fun time with her boyfriend.
Oliver: Don't you mean ex-boyfriend?
Steffy: Now you're catchin' on.
Oliver: I got to go. Hope's coming over to my place
Steffy: Oh, don't take it so hard, Oliver. Hope's gonna have a great time in college, and, you know, two months from now, she's gonna have a new boyfriend, and she won't even remember your name.
Oliver: Keep telling yourself that. Maybe it'll make you feel better.
Steffy: Hey. I like your outfit.
Stephanie: Is everything all right?
Steffy: I couldn't be better. Today's the day.
Stephanie: You are absolutely so positive that she's going to resign.
Steffy: I am absolutely positive. Absolutely.
Stephanie: I don't suppose there's any way that we could get her out of more than just the company.
Steffy: Hmm... you know, I think it's enough. I'm not out to get Brooke, not really. You know, I-I just want a place for our family. I want Forrester Creations to be back the way it used to be-- a real hope for the future, our family's future.
Jackie: Oh, my darling, you are the best.
Bridget: Hello? Are you guys awake?
Bridget: Oh, hi. The door was open, so I--
Jackie: Yes, we've been awake for ages. Come down. Owen's made breakfast. Would you like to join us?
Bridget: Oh, I'd love to.
Jackie: Good. Do we have enough eggs?
Owen: Yes, we do, actually.
Jackie: We do. Well, I'm actually rather glad you're here.
Jackie: I need to talk to you, both of you.
Bridget: Well, is something wrong?
Jackie: I saw Nick last night.
Bridget: How was he?
Jackie: Not good. He says you're going to leave me, Owen.
Owen: Mm, well, that's not true.
Jackie: Well, he's convinced. And he's also encouraging Bridget to make a go of it with you.
Hope: Hey. Mm.
Oliver: Get any sleep last night?
Oliver: Same here.
Hope: I did make a decision, though.
Eric: Taylor is not coming today?
Ridge: She's at that conference in Vegas.
Thorne: What's this about, anyway?
Steffy: Yeah, Brooke. What's this about?
Rick: Some kind of announcement, or...
Brooke: I wanted you all to know the decision that I've made. And as much as it pains me to say this... I love this company very much, more than anything-- well, almost everything. My family is the most important thing to me in the world. And some things have happened lately, and the Logans have been under siege, so I'm just tired, and I'm exhausted. And things happened that could weigh heavily on me and this company, so I don't want my personal problems to get in the way. It should be a really special time, especially for Ridge, right? And as much as I hate to say this, and I hate to do this, I really feel like I have no alternative. As of today, I am leaving Forrester Creations.
Thorne: Brooke, you can't leave. You're like an institution here.
Rick: Mom, is this because you're not an owner anymore or--or what?
Brooke: No, it-- it has nothing to do with that. Please don't question me. I've made my decision. It's for the best.
Ridge: Brooke just needs time for herself and for her family. And we all need to respect that.
Eric: Brooke, um... well, of course I-I wish you the best. But couldn't you just consider this a sabbatical or something instead of just quitting?
Brooke: Eric, I don't think so. I really feel like this is the end of an era. I don't see myself ever coming back.
Jackie: (Scoffs) Please, don't look so grim.
Bridget: Would you please listen to me? What happened that night-- I was out of my mind.
Jackie: I know. Nicky is wrong. I-I just wanted you both to be aware of how he's feeling. I mean, telling me that my marriage is a joke? Well, it's just his way of coping.
Owen: Yeah, and he was finally starting to just accept me.
Jackie: Well, maybe he will again. Well, he could. (Sighs) He's just so hurt at the moment. But deep down, he knows how much I love you.
Owen: Look, no, my love for you is what he's questioning.
Jackie: (Laughs) Well, then just let him question it. Because once the baby's born, he'll see. He'll see how you can love the baby as a father and me as a husband. He'll see how committed we are.
Oliver: I'm almost afraid to ask what you've decided.
Hope: (Sighs) I have given this a lot of thought. I know you think that this is the best thing for me, even though I have a little trouble seeing it that way.
Oliver: Hope, please try and understand--
Hope: No, no. Please let me finish. (Sighs) You've made it very clear that you think this is what I should do. (Sighs) I know that you love me and that you're just thinking about what's best for me. And so as hard as it is for me to say this, yes, Oliver, I'll go. I'll go to Boston.
Woman: Oh, Mrs. Forrester. Oh, my God. What the heck? What happened? We're all gonna miss you so much.
Brooke: (Sighs) Thank you.
Woman: Tell me it's temporary. Tell me.
Brooke: Well, we'll see.
Woman: God, I hope so. It won't be the same without you around here.
Stephanie: No, it really won't... thank God.
Owen: Bridget, come on. No, no, no. Come on. Sit down.
Bridget: Oh, please. If you're gonna make me breakfast, the least I can do is try to clean up a little bit.
Owen: What am I gonna do? So are we okay?
Jackie: We're okay.
Owen: Nothing that Nick said bothers you?
Jackie: Look, I know that there is a powerful bond between a father and his child, but what Nicky doesn't get is our bond. To say that you'd leave me is... laughable. (Chuckles) But I get why he thinks it. I mean, it was my immediate reaction, too. Bridget is beautiful. And she's young. And she's giving you a child. And, my God, what woman wouldn't be intimidated?
Owen: Yeah, but you are not just any woman.
Jackie: And I'm secure enough not to be bothered by such nonsense. And you... you're too passionate a man to give up what we have and enter into a loveless marriage, and you're far too smart to think that it would last. Nicky's just being foolish, that's all. I actually did laugh when he said you were going to leave me for her. I mean, no offense to Bridget, but it's ridiculous.
Hope: (Sighs) You know-- you know, I always pictured myself going away to college. But then... then you came into my life, and with everything that was happening at Forrester, I just... I don't know. I guess I just allowed myself to think that it didn't matter.
Oliver: But it does. And all the new exciting experiences you'll have-- it'll be fun.
Hope: Thanks to you. You made me see. (Sighs) You're still gonna come with me to Boston, right, help me get settled in?
Oliver: That's why I bought two tickets.
Hope: Mm. You know, I was thinking about it, and, um, you know, winter break, it's not that far away. You know, we'll--we'll make it work. If this relationship means anything, and I know that it does, then we'll be fine.
Oliver: Look, a lot... a lot will happen while we're apart. We'll be living separate lives.
Oliver: But I want you to know no matter what I'm doing, I'll be thinking of you.
Hope: Same with me.
Oliver: It's gonna be hard.
Hope: Yeah. (Sighs) But we'll get through it.
Stephanie: This is a great day, Steffy, thanks to you.
Steffy: Grandma, this has nothing to do with me.
Stephanie: Whatever. I'm just glad you did what you did.
Brooke: I will leave you two to your celebrating.
Stephanie: No. Thank you, Brooke. I know you well enough that if you could have figured a way out of whatever it is that she has on you, you would have. You would have batted those big eyes or cried those crocodile tears of yours, but you didn't. You did the right thing. You left the company. And I shall always be eternally grateful. I don't know if you really understand how much it means to me that this company is back where it should be, in my family's hands. This is a whole new chapter for you. You're gonna go off and be a great wife and a great grandmother, and you're going to have a lot of joy. Forrester Creations is no longer your concern.
Owen: Bye. I'm just gonna take a show
Jackie: Don't be long.
Owen: I won't. I'm just gonna take a shower, and then I'm gonna be right in, okay?
Jackie: Okay. Try and get Bridget to come into the office. It might do her good.
Owen: I will.
Jackie: Bye, Bridget.
Bridget: Bye, Jackie.
Owen: Bye. Mm. Mwah.
Jackie: Love you.
Bridget: Have a good day at work.
Owen: See you.
Bridget: Thanks so much for breakfast. It was fun.
Owen: Yeah, of course. Are you kidding me? Hey, so, um, what do you think about coming to work with me?
Bridget: I don't know. I-I can't.
Owen: Why? What's the matter?
Owen: Come on, Bridget. You can talk to me. Hey. Hey. What? Come on. What's wrong? Come here.
Bridget: (Sighs) I think I'm just being silly. I guess it's just all hitting me, you know? I'm... I'm single. My husband left me. I'm pregnant. I just feel really lonely right now.
Owen: Hey, come on. Look, you're not alone. You got Jackie. You got me. We're both here for you, okay?
Bridget: I know. I just hard, you know? It--it's not supposed to be this way. This is supposed to be the happiest time of my life. I finally get to have a baby.
Bridget: It's just backwards. Maybe it's the hormones. I don't know. I just feel confused.
Owen: I know. I know. Listen, we're gonna get through this. We're gonna do it together.
Brooke: (Sighs) I don't need an escort. I have one more thing to get. Then I'll be out of your hair.
Steffy: Do you need any help?
Brooke: You've done enough already.
Steffy: I was just trying to be genuine.
Brooke: Look, if you really want to help, don't send Hope away. I know you think you have a thing with Oliver, and...
Brooke: If she goes to school back East, that maybe he'll fall in love with you, but that's just not the case. Have you seen the way he looks at her? Just because they're on separate coasts doesn't mean he's gonna change his mind about how he feels. I'm out of the company. What more do you need?
(Cell phone rings)
Brooke: (Sighs) It's Oliver.
Steffy: Answer it.
Oliver: It's done. Hope's leaving for Boston.
Brooke: Oh, no.
Oliver: Steffy promised to let me off the hook after a few months and still keep our secret. I'll give her a chance. But I'm still in love with Hope.
Brooke: I know. I just wish there were some other way.
Oliver: I'll call Steffy.
Brooke: No, don't bother. She's right here. I'll tell her.
Steffy: Hope's leaving?
Brooke: Yes. Now we're all out of the company. It's Logan-free. I just hope you keep your end of the bargain.
Steffy: I have. I didn't even tell my grandmother. And I won't say anything as long as you keep your part of the deal. Brooke, you're doing a really, really good thing. You're saving yourself and your daughter from humiliation. And, hey, Hope's gonna go away to college. She's gonna have a great time. It's gonna be good for her. It's gonna be good for you, too.
Brooke: You almost make it sound like it's not self-serving.
Steffy: Well, we all benefit. There's nothing wrong with that. I bet you thought I couldn't do it-- freeing this company of the Logans.
Brooke: I just wish you had a little more understanding about what I've contributed here at this company.
Steffy: Oh, I know. You worked extremely hard. You've given your mind, body and your soul. And Forrester will always be grateful for that. But you know the fashion industry. You live fast. You die young. And, Brooke, you lived way too fast. And that's the reason for your departure. And now my family is back in control-- Forrester Creations, filled with dignity and elegance. Free of the Logans, free from scandal. I'm sorry it had to be this way. Good-bye.
Ridge: You okay?
Brooke: It's just... (Sighs) So much of my life has been here in this building. So many memories. It's harder to walk away than I thought. (Sighs)
Ridge: Then don't go.
Brooke: I have no choice.
