Stephanie: Keep your mouth shut, or I'll shoot you again.
Bill: Stephen? What--
Brooke: Oh, my God! What happened?
Stephanie: Well, I shot him.
Jackie: (Sighs) I don't know about you, but I'm thinking a bottle of wine and a long, hot soak.
Owen: Yeah, sounds good to me.
Jackie: (Sighs) I can't deny it. I am glad that's over.
Owen: Yeah, it was a little awkward being part of a baby shower for Bridget and Nick.
Jackie: You handled it beautifully, darling.
Owen: Well, it must have been rough on you as well.
Jackie: I'm just worried about Nicky, that's all. I mean, we know he can't be in the dark forever. He's going to find out the truth and... (Sighs) Then what will happen?
Nick: Say it. Tell me Aggie's lying, that it's not true about you and Owen. Tell me that it's not his child. I want you to tell me that it's a lie.
Bridget: Oh, God, Nick. I'm--I'm just so sorry. I'm so, so sorry.
Bill: Give me the gun, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Forget it, Bill. Okay, girls, go see Daddy.
Katie: Oh, my God, Dad?
Brooke: Dad? Dad? Are you okay? Are you okay?
Bill: Brooke, get towels. You have to apply pressure to that wound.
Brooke: Okay. Okay.
Katie: Here. Just don't move. Don't--don't move. Don't move. How could you do something like this?
Stephanie: Well, let's see. I, uh, I aimed, and I pulled the trigger.
Bill: Where's the phone? We need to call the paramedics.
Stephanie: I'll call the paramedics.
Brooke: Here. Put--put more pressure on it with that towel.
Katie: Here. Here.
Brooke: Make sure it's not bleeding too much.
Stephanie: Oh, hi, Jerry? Yeah, it's--yes, yes. It's Stephanie Forrester. Oh, I'm fine, thanks. How are you? Oh, I know. Isn't it fabulous? Such beautiful weather. Yeah, I-I am. I'm here at the cabin, yeah. Mm-hmm. Well, actually, I have a little situation here. I had a home intruder. Yeah, I had to wing him. He's down. That would be a good idea. Great. Okay. Thanks, Jerry. See ya. Okay, uh, the paramedics and the sheriff are on their way up, so don't die until I get to put you in jail.
Jackie: (Moans) Oh.
Owen: Wow, you are really tied up in knots.
Owen: That baby shower really did take its toll on you.
Jackie: (Sighs) Yep. (Sighs) Did you see how ill at ease Bridget was when Aggie was talking alone with Nicky?
Owen: Yeah, she said she's been picking up on some weird vibes from Aggie.
Jackie: It's almost like she feels Aggie knows something.
Owen: No, if Aggie knew anything, she would have blown this thing up by now.
Jackie: (Sighs) Yeah, you're right. Only three people know-- you, Bridget and me. Our secret's safe.
Oliver: I can't believe you told Nick the truth.
Aggie: He has a right to know the baby isn't his.
Oliver: You shouldn't have been eavesdropping on Bridget and Owen.
Aggie: It's not because I want him for myself, Oliver. But I care about him, and I can't stand to see him living with all this deception. Nick deserves better, and so does his mother.
Nick: You and Owen? My mother's husband? No. No, I don't believe that. I know you. That's not who you are. You're not somebody who-- who cheats and has affairs.
Bridget: It wasn't an affair. It was one night. It was just one time. Please, please, Nick, don't let that cost us everything. Just tell me--tell me that we can get through this.
Katie: Bill, take the gun away from her before she shoots somebody else.
Stephanie: Relax, Katie. It's over. Are you all right? Everything's going to be fine.
Katie: The hell it is. You shot our father.
Brooke: You tried to kill him, Stephanie.
Stephanie: Excuse me. He tried to kill me. He came into my cabin carrying this gun.
Katie: If that's true, it's because you pushed him to it.
Stephanie: He hurt my sister. You know, you girls are always talking about protecting your own. Well, I protected my own.
Brooke: By putting a bullet through our father?
Stephanie: (Sighs) I've I wanted him dead, I'd have shot him dead. It's a superficial wound. You'll be fine.
Katie: Much to your regret, I'm sure.
Stephanie: Well, he hurt my sister. I had to teach him a lesson, didn't I?
Brooke: That's why you did this, to teach him a lesson?
Stephen: (Grunts) Honey.
Katie: Okay. I'm sorry, Dad.
Stephen: It's all right. I'm okay.
Katie: Wh--you're not okay. What are you doing up here?
Stephanie: Well, that's the $64,000 question, isn't it, Daddy? You gonna tell her or shall I? He hurt my sister. I don't like that. Lucky for him, I happen to be a wonderful shot, or you wouldn't have your daddy.
Brooke: (Sighs) How are you doing, Dad?
Stephen: I'll be all right, sweetheart. I'll be fine.
Katie: Stephanie should be behind bars for what she's done.
Stephanie: This was self-defense-- trespass, coming on the premises with the intent to kill.
Brooke: He did not try to kill you.
Stephanie: (Sighs) Actually, you're right. He didn't. He tried to brainwash my sister into actually doing it. Can you imagine that, my own sister? If anyone should go to jail, it's your father.
Stephen: Oh, you would like that, wouldn't you, Stephanie?
Stephen: First you take the girls' mother from them. Why not the father?
Stephanie: Don't try and turn this around on me. We both know the truth, and so does Pam.
Stephen: What I know is that you aimed a gun at me, and you fired.
Stephen: You wanted me dead, the same way you wanted Beth dead, so we wouldn't be around to protect our daughters. And I wasn't there for you all those years or for your mother. I let you all down.
Stephen: I'm just... sorry. I wanted her gone. But once again, Stephanie wins.
Aggie: I can't imagine how Bridget is gonna defend herself. You know, all this time, she's letting Nick believe that baby is his when it isn't. Secrets have a way of coming out, don't they?
Brooke: I'm ready.
Aggie: Oliver? Hey. Hey, what's going on? You okay?
Bridget: It was the night that we lost the baby. I was devastated. I blamed Aggie, and I blamed you, myself. I couldn't get out of that hospital fast enough, and I-I just wanted to run until I was so exhausted that I couldn't feel the pain anymore. I-I-I wound up here at the office, and Owen was... Owen was still here. He saw how upset I was and knew it was about the baby. And he wanted to call you, but I wouldn't let him. And he wouldn't let me just... (Sniffles) wander outside in the dark by myself. We went to the beach house. And, uh, I just lit all these candles, dozens and dozens of candles. I was wanting to pray to God that he would take care of yet another baby that I couldn't mother. Honey, I was... out of my mind. I broke down, and Owen was a... there to comfort me. Nick, there were just extraordinary situa-- it doesn't excuse anything. It doesn't... doesn't mean I don't feel unbelievably horrible about what happened.
Nick: But it happened. And Owen let it happen. You might not have been in any condition to stop it, but he was! So why did he let it happen, Bridget? Why would he let it happen?
Bridget: I was just falling apart, Nick. It was the grief. It was so suffocating. I couldn't breathe or think or-- and Owen didn't let this happen. It just did, and we regretted it immediately. The people that we loved most in the world, we had just betrayed-- you and Jackie. And then to find out a few weeks later that I was pregnant, and then I--
Nick: Stop! I don't want to hear this. I don't want to hear any explanations. It's all... my wife. You. You cheated on me. The child I thought we were having I-is another man's. And look. Look at this happy couple, this marriage that I thought we had, this woman I thought we knew.
Bridget: Nick, please, Nick. Oh, God.
Nick: You slept with my mother's husband! You're pregnant with his kid. (Sighs) That son of a bitch. He used you. He took advantage of this situation. He's been using my mother all along, and it stops. It stops right here! It all ends tonight!
Stephen: I kept telling myself that I was justified going to the lengths that I did. But I had to do something. But the way I went about it was all wrong.
Stephen: I'm fine, honey.
Brooke: No. No, you're not. Where are those paramedics?
Stephanie: I'd be more concerned about the sheriff, seeing as he's gonna haul him out of here in handcuffs.
Bill: Enough, Stephanie. You've already shot their father. What more do you want, Stephen on death row?
Stephanie: That's not a bad idea. No, what I want is for everyone to open their eyes and see exactly what's happened here. Your father isn't the victim. If it--everything had gone the way he planned, I'd be dead, and my sister would be in jail for having done it.
Pam: Is it true, Stephen...
Pam: That you don't really care about me? That you were just using me? That you don't have feelings for me, and you never did? (Sniffles)
Stephen: I do have feelings. No, it didn't start that way. I saw you the way I saw Stephanie. I-I blamed you the way I blamed her. But the more time that we spent together, I started to realize that... I realized what a good woman you truly are, Pamela Douglas, a woman that I deeply am sorry for hurting, as I'm sorry for hurting you girls.
Katie: Dad, no.
Brooke: Dad, you don't have to apologize for anything.
Stephanie: Well, he certainly owes me one. And I'd be happy to have it, Stephen.
Stephen: I will never apologize to you, Stephanie. You killed my wife. You tortured my girls for years. You are responsible for all this misery.
Stephanie: You tell the sheriff your story about what happened here tonight, and then Pam and I will tell the truth. Right, Pam?
Pam: You were so loving with me.
Pam: So tender. I believed... you got me so confused. You almost had me... (Sobs) I'm so sorry, Steph. I'm so sorry, Steph.
Stephanie: Oh, honey, don't. It's all right. It's all right. There's nothing to forgive.
Stephanie: This man hurt you terribly, and he's gonna pay. Believe me. He's gonna pay.
Oliver: Why would you think something's wrong?
Aggie: Because you keep zoning out on me, and you're sweating. Are you coming down with something?
Oliver: I... I'm just drained, okay?
Aggie: Hope's big bash finally catchin' up with ya? All right. You go to bed. Get some rest. Tell you what-- unlike tonight, just be happy that your love life is complication-free. See ya.
Owen: Want some more wine, beautiful?
Jackie: Mm, I think so. (Chuckles) Thank you, my--
Nick: So sorry to interrupt this lovely moment. Mother, I'd like to fill you in on what your husband's been up to. You pig.
Jackie: (Gasps) No, Nicky! No. Stop it. Aah!
Nick: I was right about you all along. You're just a user. I should have kicked your ass a long time ago.
Jackie: Stop it. Stop. No!
Bridget: Nick! Oh, God. Nick!
Jackie: Stop it! Stop it! Right now! Stop this! Are you all right?
Bridget: Oh, God! Stop. I know you're hurting, but you can't just take this out on Owen.
Jackie: Are you all right?
Nick: Don't defend him! Mother, get away from him. He's lied to you all along.
Jackie: No, he didn't. Owen hasn't lied to me, not like you think. Not--not on purpose. I know, Nicky. I know what happened between my husband and your wife.
Bridget: (Sighs) Oh, God.
Nick: You've known?
Jackie: And I was as devastated as you are at first. Every emotion that you're feeling, I felt, too. I did. (Sighs) But I love Owen. And I know that Bridget loves you.
Nick: You've known? What am I hearing here? I mean...
Nick: Have you people lost your mind? Your husband had sex with my wife. She's pregnant with his child. Just what do you suggest I do with that, Mother? How should I deal with that?
Jackie: Owen didn't take advantage of Bridget. Circumstances were just beyond their control. And you've been there, too, so you've just got to get past this, Nicky. You've got to do what seems impossible. You've got to forgive.
Stephanie: What are you doing here? I thought you went to the sheriff's station with your father.
Brooke: Where is Pam? (Sighs)
Stephanie: In the bedroom. She's resting. It's gonna take a long time for her to get over what your father's done.
Brooke: My father hasn't been himself, Stephanie, ever since my mother died.
Stephanie: Look, honey, it's one thing to grieve for your mother's death. I understand that. But it's quite another to turn that grief into some sort of homicidal rage against me.
Brooke: Oh, my God. It's more complicated than that, and you know it. Where is your compassion?
Stephanie: With my sister, where it belongs. Your father did a terrible thing to her. She was intimate with him. The first man in her life that she's ever been intimate with, and she did it because he told her he loved her. That's a terrible lie to tell another person. He took advantage of her innocence and her naiveté. I'm so sick and tired of your crazy father and the rest of you. (Sighs) (Chuckles) And Ridge thinks he's gonna live happily ever after with you. (Chuckles) But that's not gonna happen. You know why? 'Cause you're a real screw-up. Your whole family is a screw-up. You are a screw-up.
(Cell phone rings)
Brooke: Yes, Dad.
Oliver: It's me, Oliver. I need to see you.
Brooke: I-I can... (Sighs) Can't talk right now. I'll call you later.
Stephanie: My son loves you. He really loves you, and he thinks that you've changed, but you haven't. You'll do something, and he'll peel back that mask and see you for who you really are.
(Daddy Yankee's "Pose" playing)
Stephanie: You will do something, because you can't help yourself. Who knows? You may have done it already.
