(Knock on door)

Stephen: Who is it?

Katie: Open up. It's--it's Katie.

Stephen: Just a minute. Katie, what are you doing here?

Katie: The question is, what are you doing here?

Bill: Can we come in, Stephen?

Stephen: Uh... sure.

Katie: Dad, what on earth is going on here?

Stephen: You have been talking to Stephanie.

Katie: And Pam. She says you're in love with her.

Pam: I cannot believe that you did this to me in front of everybody at the office. It's so humiliating.

Stephanie: And I had to put the child lock on in the car, didn't I?

Pam: Well, it's not gonna work.

Stephanie: Pam, listen.

Pam: (Sighs)

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Pam: Cut it out!

Stephanie: Get over here.

Pam: (Sighs)

Stephanie: We have to talk. We have to have some time alone, okay?

Pam: Oh, so you kidnap me, drag me up to the woods? I want to go back to L.A., Stephanie, right now!

Stephanie: No, not until you get your head screwed on right about the whole thing.

Pam: (Sighs)

Owen: Look, I'm sorry.

Jackie: (Sighs)

Owen: I've complicated your life so badly.

Jackie: (Sighs) Bridget's pregnant, and it's your baby. I've come to accept it.

Owen: But, I mean, have you really? 'Cause you've been tossing and turning at night, and that's not like you.

Jackie: (Sighs) Guess you caught me.

Owen: Look, Jackie, I know that you don't want to say this, and I know you won't, but this is hurting you.

Jackie: Well, people in love do hurt each other sometimes.

Owen: Look, no, but I don't-- I don't want to do that. I don't want to be that person that's hurting you every night and keeping you awake.

Jackie: It isn't you, and it isn't the baby. I know what this child means to you.

Owen: Wait a minute. It's not the baby? Then what is it?

Jackie: I want this child to be born. I really do. But--but if the child makes it, then we are just gonna have another huge set of really complicated problems that we--

Owen: That we are going to face one day at time as husband and wife.

Jackie: As will Bridget, whatever that may mean.

Owen: So what's the problem? We're gonna find the answer to this.

Jackie: I will, and you will, and Bridget will. Nicky, on the other hand...

Owen: Look, it's gonna be a bitter pill for him to swallow when he finds out, if he does find out.

Jackie: But it's not really realistic, is it? To think that he's never going to know.

Owen: Look, we all agreed on that.

Jackie: No, no, no. The three of us agreed on that. Nicky is in the dark.

Owen: Which I think is the best thing for the time being.

Jackie: Yeah, a bit of a double-edged sword, though, isn't it?

Owen: How do you mean?

Jackie: Well, the longer that he's in the dark, the more invested he is in "his child."

Owen: The bigger the fall and the greater the disappointment. I know.

Jackie: Exactly. He's gonna feel very betrayed.

Katie: I cannot believe that you've fallen for Pam Douglas.

Stephen: Katie, this is a lot more complicated than you realize.

Katie: I mean, she's as bad as Stephanie. Do you have any idea what she's done to Donna?

Stephen: I am aware of everything she's done.

Katie: Well, then how can you be involved with her on any level?

Bill: There's more to this, isn't there, Stephen?

Stephanie: I know you don't want to hear this, but he is not in love with you.

Pam: (Scoffs) Oh, because nobody could ever love somebody like me. That's what you're saying, Steph. Well, it's not true. He accepts me for who I am.

Stephanie: He is manipulating you, Pam.

Pam: Well, you would know all about that, wouldn't you? You've been pullin' my strings for years.

Stephanie: That's not true.

Pam: What? What have you ever really done for me? Think about it, Stephanie. What have you ever really done just for me?

Stephanie: Kept you from destroying yourself.

Pam: By what? Feeding me pills? Snatching me away from the only person who has ever loved me, and then dragging me up to this horrible cabin where--

Stephanie: Where you tried to feed Donna to the bears? You were off your medications then, weren't you? Weren't you?

Bridget: Hey, um-- oh, sh, I am so sorry to interrupt.

Owen: Uh, what's the-- what's the matter? Is everything okay?

Bridget: Um, yeah, you know, uh, we're...we're fine. We're fine, but I... (Sighs) I need to talk to you both.

Owen: What is it?

Bridget: Look, if I wait to tell Nick about this baby, I don't know if he will ever accept this child. If the baby makes it to the third trimester, I... I have to tell Nick the truth and just let the chips fall. I cannot keep the truth from Nick any longer than that.

Whip: No, it's all good. Taylor is completely up for it.

Nick: Well, uh, then I'm-- I'm totally game for it. Honey, I got a little news.

Bridget: Yeah? What?

Nick: Well, it seems as though Aggie, Whip and Taylor, they want to throw us an impromptu baby shower, so... (Chuckles)

Bridget: Um, well, when?

Aggie: Tonight, Bridget.

Whip: Yeah.

Bridget: Tonight? Wh--so--so

Aggie: Well, Nick said you don't have anything to do, so...

Bridget: No, I-I suppose we don't.

Aggie: So great. So it's settled, unless there's a problem.

Pam: Oh, my God, Steph, you're right. You're right. I have gotta go apologize to Stephen.

Stephanie: For what?

Pam: Well, for everything that I did to Donna. I've gotta go make this right, Steph. I've gotta find him right now.

Stephanie: Well, you're gonna have a long walk back, because I'm not driving you to L.A.

Pam: (Scoffs) He's right. He is so right about you. You don't care about me. You don't care about anything that I might need, that I want. You say Stephen is using me? You're the one using me, Steph, and you have been my whole life! Using me to take care of Mama. Using me to help you get rid of those poor Logan girls.

Stephanie: "Those poor Logan girls"?

Pam: That is right, Stephanie. Those poor Logan girls. What did they ever real do to you? They married your sons. They married Eric when you couldn't make him happy.

Stephanie: Oh, God, has this man got you brainwashed.

Pam: (Scoffs)

Stephanie: I guess you would do just about anything he asked, wouldn't you?

Pam: Yes!

Katie: Is Bill right? Is this some kind of game?

Stephen: I don't want to get into it.

Bill: Well, it's a little late for that, don't you think?

Stephen: And I don't have to answer to you.

Bill: What about Katie?

Katie: Daddy, please. You've got to tell me what you're up to. Why are you living with Pam? You have nothing in common.

Stephen: Well... maybe we do. Pam's been abused by Stephanie, just like you, Katie, like your sisters. She's been living under the shadow of that woman for years. Shes been taken advantage of, doing her dirty work.

Bill: That's right. Pam has been doing Stephanie's dirty work, and nobody's more aware of that than Donna. Pam tried to harm her on more than one occasion, Stephen. Now you expect us to believe that you're going to get involved with a woman who would do that to one of your daughters?

Stephen: (Sighs)

Katie: You're in pain. We all are. But no one more than you. Brooke has told me how difficult this has been, how consumed you are with hatred for Stephanie for what she did to Mom, to all of us.

Stephen: That's right. I'm consumed, and I'm committed to doing something about it. I'm not gonna let my family suffer at the hands of that woman one more day! All you need to know is that I'm protecting you and your sisters.

Katie: By shacking up with Pam? How is that protecting us?

Stephen: And it's best if you let me deal with this.

Katie: Deal with what?

Stephen: Will you please, both of you, walk away from this?

Bill: Stephen, when I married Katie you welcomed me into your family, and that's what we are-- family. Let me help you.

Stephen: How?

Bill: you're not the only one with an axe to grind with the Forresters.

Stephen: Well, then I would be doing you a favor, too.

Katie: How is this doing us a favor? What are you talking about?

Stephen: I'm going to put a stop to it, a stop to it all. Everything Stephanie Forrester has done to this family is going to be made right.

Pam: (Scoffs) No, thank you. So what are you gonna do, Stephanie? Hold me here forever? Keep me from the man I love like some evil witch? (Sighs)

Stephanie: I think you're not taking your meds.

Pam: (Scoffs) I don't need them anymore. That was all part of your little plan to control me.

Stephanie: You need to take your medicine. Where is it? Where are they? Here?

Pam: Gone.

Stephanie: You didn't let the prescription lapse.

Pam: No. I got rid of 'em.

Stephanie: What?

Pam: I don't need them anymore, Stephanie. That's what I said.

Stephanie: You got rid of them? Or Stephen got rid of them?

Pam: (Chuckles) Okay, yes, Stephen poured them down the drain for me because I have something better than pills now, Steph. Something that pills never did for. I have a man who makes me feel like a woman, like a real human being, something you never did for me, Steph. You made me feel like a slave.

Stephanie: I'm sorry you feel that way, Pam. Well, we gotta get that prescription filled. (Sighs) Um...

Pam: (Scoffs)

Stephanie: I left my phone in the car. I'll be right back.

Pam: (Scoffs)

Stephanie: And, Pam, don't think about sneaking out the back door. That's the National Forest, and you better than anybody knows exactly what it's full of-- big black bears.

Nick: Hey, I-I realize it's short notice, right? And it's still really early on, and we got a long way to go.

Bridget: Yeah.

Nick: But, you know, we really, we have to believe in this baby. We have to have that positive commitment, and that's what this is, you know? Whip, Aggie and Taylor, they want to put our family and friends together and make sure that this little baby feels the love, right? We want to feel the love. (Chuckles)

Whip: (Chuckles)

Aggie: You won't have to do anything, Bridget, really.

Whip: Yeah, except show up.

Jackie: I think it's a marvelous idea.

Owen: Well, it is kind of, sort of out of the blue, don't you think?

Aggie: Your wife doesn't think it's a bad idea.

Jackie: Well, of course it's out of the blue, darling, but that's the whole point-- spontaneity. It's the spice of life.

Aggie: (Chuckles)

Nick: You know, it's been a while since I've been to a baby shower. Can we drink there?

Whip: Don't worry. I think we can scare up a few cold ones for the guys.

Nick: Whew, thank you.

Whip: We gotta toast to the, uh, newest member of the Marone clan. So, uh, what are you guys hoping for? A boy? A girl?

Nick: Um...

Bridget: I'm sorry, what?

Nick: You know, as long as it has her eyes and her looks and my scintillating personality...

Whip: Yeah. (Whistles) Okay.

Aggie: Bridget, are you okay? You just seem kind of radiant.

Bridget: Oh, no, I'm-- I'm fine. I'm just caught off guard a little bit. I haven't even started thinking about the showers and stuff I'll need for the baby. But it's not that I don't appreciate the gesture. It is really sweet.

Jackie: Bridget will be just fine, won't you, sweetheart?

Whip: Okay, so we say around 7:00?

Nick: Hey, it's your party. You just tell us when to show up.

Bridget: You know, I don't know that I can do this. Look, I'm sorry, guys. I just don't know if I'm really up for partying tonight.

Nick: Is it the baby?

Bridget: No, no. The baby's fine. It's me.

Nick: You're not feeling well?

Bridget: Im just so tired. I-I need some rest.

Whip: Well, we promise we're not gonna keep you up late, Bridget. I mean, we know you need your beauty sleep. I mean baby sleep.

Nick: (Chuckles)

Owen: Well, maybe another night would be better.

Aggie: Well, this was the only night for a couple of months that we could all get together.

Whip: Yeah.

Nick: See? Come on. It's--it's karma.

Aggie: I mean, unless there's something else.

Bridget: No, no, Aggie. I'm just really tired. You know, pregnant women get that way. You remember, I'm sure.

Nick: Well, I-I promise you I won't let them wear you out. I' have you home in time for Letterman.

Bridget: (Chuckles) You promise? You sure?

Nick: You have my word. I promise!

Aggie: Hey, wait, does this mean you're in? You're on board? 'Cause, oh, it would be so amazing. A baby shower, a of us together like one big family, you know, celebrating you and Nick at this very special time in your lives.

Bridget: Thanks, Aggie. It's really lovely of you.

Whip: Okay, great, we're on. I'll go tell Taylor. Let's go, G.

Aggie: Okay.

Bridget: (Sighs)

Nick: Come on. Let's put this tether. It's a really special evening, right? Good energy. Just what the little baby needs. Okay?

Katie: Dad, you're making me a little nervous.

Stephen: I'm fine. I know what I'm doing, and I just don't want you here.

Kat: Dad, you're grieving, and grief can make you do crazy things sometimes. I know how much you despise Stephanie. But living with her sister just doesn't make any sense. (Cell phone rings)

Stephen: I, uh, I have to take this.

Katie: (Sighs)

Stephen: Pamela?

Pam: Oh, Stephen. Stephen, oh, thank God.

Stephen: W-whats the matter? A-are you all right?

Pam: It's Stephanie. She kidnapped me.

Stephen: Kidnapped you? Where?

Pam: She forced me to come.

Stephen: No, no, no, where? Where did she take you?

Pam: To the cabin in Big Bear.

Stephen: She took you all the way up there in the woods? Just the two of you?

Pam: She is being so mean to me, Stephen. I don't know what to do. What do I do?

Stephen: No, cal--calm down. Calm down. Remember, you're--you're not on your medication anymore.

Pam: I know. I know. I'm so furious with her. She dragged me up here, treating me like I was a little child.

Stephen: Just like she always does. Like she always will

Pam: I know. Sh--she wants to keep me here, Stephen, until I promise her that I'll end things with you.

Stephen: I told you how she'd be.

Pam: It's so not fair.

Stephen: We'll never see each other again, Pamela, if she has her way. You know that. It's me or her.

Pam: No, Stephen, I need you in my life.

Stephen: Exactly, sweetheart. And I need you in mine.

Pam: But Stephanie won't let me see you ever again. She's trapped me up here. Stephen, I don't know what to do. What do I do?

Stephen: I know exactly what to do.

Pam: You do?

Stephen: You have to get away from Stephanie. She'll never let us have our happiness.

Pam: No, she won't. She won't. But how do I get away?

Stephen: I'm coming to help you.

Pam: You're coming here? To Big Bear?

Stephen: Yes. I'll be there as soon as I can.

Pam: Oh, Stephen, thank you. Thank you.

Stephen: Stephanie has taken so much from you. It's your time, Pamela.

Pam: Time

Stephen: Yes, time to fire back. Sweetheart, it's your shot, and you're gonna take it.

Pam: I'll be waiting, Stephen.

Stephen: So will I.

Bill: It's taking a long time.

Katie: What do you think he's up to?

Bill: I'm not sure, but he's a desperate man fighting to save his family.

Katie: Pam Douglas. It just does not add up. (Sighs)

Stephen: Stephanie Forrester, prepare to die.
