Nick: There you are.
Nick: Tough to get any work done around here with that picture on the desk, isn't it?
Nick: You packed?
Nick: Yeah, for our trip to New York. Just because Stephanie left, we're not gonna let her connections dry up.
Bridget: Um, right. When--when is that?
Nick: Today. Did you forget?
Bridget: Today? Um, oh, my goodness, Nick. I'm so sorry. I-I just have so much on my mind. Oh, goodness. You know, honey, I... I don't know that I'm really up for this trip.
Taylor: I just wish Brooke would let this go. Oliver's an adult. He can make his own decisions.
Ridge: It's not that simple, though. Hope's a young girl in love for the first time. You know how that is.
Taylor: So what are we supposed to say to our daughter? Tell her to leave him alone?
Ridge: I'd rather we didn't have to tell her anything. Hope and Oliver are dating. I think Steffy should respect that.
Steffy: They're not engaged, Dad. She doesn't own him.
Oliver: I burned those songs, Brooke. You want to hear?
Hope: Yeah, sure.
Oliver: Hope. (Chuckles)
Hope: (Singsong voice) Hmm, awkward. (Chuckles)
Oliver: Wow, I'm sorry about that.
Hope: (Normal voice) Eh, don't be. People confuse me and my mom sometimes. It's fine.
Oliver: Bet you love that.
Hope: I do. She's beautiful. Of course, she likes it even more.
Oliver: How could she not?
Brooke: Uh... (Sighs)
Hope: Mom, hey. We were just talking about you, actually.
Brooke: Uh, Oliver, I need to have a word with you.
Hope: Mom, what is it?
Brooke: It's a good thing you're here, too. We need to get this out in the open.
Hope: Um, get what out in the open?
Brooke: Oliver, I want you to tell me honestly where things stand between you, Hope and Steffy.
Steffy: Oliver is not committed to Hope.
Ridge: Sweetheart, that's not what Hope thinks.
Steffy: She's infatuated. She's not being objective.
Taylor: Well, I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I-I'm assuming that your feelings are genuine and you're not out to just hurt Hope.
Steffy: I'm attracted to Oliver, and he's attracted to me. If Brooke doesn't like it, that's not my problem.
Ridge: Brooke is just trying to protect her daughter, and so am I.
Steffy: Well, it doesn't feel like you're protecting this daughter.
Ridge: But I am, though. Very much so. I just don't want another generation of rivalry in this family.
Steffy: (Sighs) Mom, how do you feel?
Taylor: Well, I-I understand how your father feels. I understand his point of view, and--and Brooke's.
Steffy: Okay, what about mine?
Taylor: I understand that, too. If you really have feelings for Oliver, and they're genuine, and he's not committed to Hope, then I would never be the one to tell you to back off.
Steffy: Thank you.
Taylor: But I-I would tell you to be very sensitive to Hope. She's a young lady, and she could get hurt very badly.
Steffy: Okay, can you please just stay out of this? I cannot protect Hope from heartache. Every girl goes through it. It's a part of growing up.
Ridge: Yes, that may be true. I just don't want you to be the cause of all that heartache.
Steffy: No, that is not my intention.
Ridge: What is your intention?
Steffy: I like him, okay? There's something real between us.
Ridge: That's it?
Steffy: Look... (sighs) if I could get what I want without hurting Hope, I would. Now can we please just drop this? I have something much more important to talk to you two about.
Bridget: You know, honey, I just... I can't handle a trip to New York right now.
Nick: Is this about the pregnancy? Is there something you're not telling me?
Bridget: No, um, no. No. The--the baby's fine. Look, it's--it's not that.
Nick: Okay, well, then what is it?
Jackie: Oh, good, you haven't left yet. (Chuckles) I want you to read over this marketing report on the plane. Give me your feedback, okay?
Nick: Bridget doesn't want to go to New York.
Jackie: Why not?
Bridget: I'm just not comfortable with it right now.
Owen: Bridget, your pregnancy-- is everything okay?
Bridget: Yeah, yeah. Everything's fine with the baby. I'm just a little tired. It's perfectly normal.
Nick: Maybe I should just stay here with you.
Jackie: No. No. You are going. You--you can take Aggie with you. I-I'll stay here. I'll take care of Bridget.
Jackie: Aggie, you're up to speed on these meetings in New York, right?
Aggie: Yes, but--
Jackie: But you're on. (Chuckles) Unless, of course, there's some reason you feel you can't go.
Aggie: Are you guys cool with this?
Nick: I'd like a moment alone with my wife, please.
Jackie: Well, make it quick. You and Aggie have got a plane to catch. Come on. I'll fill you in on the details.
Nick: Okay, something's up with you. I'd like you to tell me what it is.
Steffy: The European buyers are coming back into town. It's our first big meeting since we've taken back the company. We need to show them Forrester Creations is back.
Taylor: And how do you propose to do that?
Steffy: Well, Dad is key now that you're C.E.O. You've always had a sense of flair and showmanship, and that's what the company is known for. We need to leave a good taste in their mouth, excite them, create a buzz.
Ridge: A fashion show?
Steffy: Exactly. The most stylish night of the year in L.A. society, but we have to do it right. We have to go back to our roots. Cocktail dresses, gowns, everything upscale. Classic Forrester elegance... none of that ‘Hope for the Future’ business.
Hope: This is so embarrassing.
Brooke: I'm sorry, honey. But I need information, and I'm going to get it.
Oliver: Okay, hold on. I have--I have no problem talking about this. You want to know how I feel about Hope?
Oliver: I'm crazy about her. Have been since the first day we met. And I would never, ever do anything to hurt her because I care about her so much. In fact, the biggest problem I have with Hope is finding anything not to like about her.
Brooke: That answers my question. Well, almost.
Hope: Don't push your luck.
Brooke: Oliver... (Sighs) I know what happened the other night. Well, what almost happened after the ‘Hope for the Future’ press conference.
Hope: Oh, my God.
Brooke: And Hope tells me that you didn't pressure her, and I really want to believe that. Obviously, she's not ready for sex.
Hope: Mom, will you please stop?
Brooke: Honey, we need to talk about this. Now there are so many things that a young couple can do to get to know each other. You can go to movies...
Brooke: And plays, art galleries, trip to the zoo. It doesn't all have to be about sex.
Oliver: Uh, I totally agree.
Hope: Well, fine, that's settled. Thank you, Mom. Good talk. (Chuckles)
Brooke: Okay, I guess you want me to shut my mouth and leave.
Brooke: (Singsong voice) Have a good trip to the zoo. Toodle-oo.
Hope: Please... (sighs) please tell me that didn't just happen.
Oliver: Come on. She's your mother, and she's right.
Hope: Oh, she is?
Oliver: Are you ready for a trip to the zoo?
Hope: (Chuckles) Yes, I am. (Giggles) (groans)
Nick: Bridget, I'm waiting.
Bridget: All right. Yes, I'm--I'm worried. I'm worried about the baby.
Nick: The baby? Is there something wrong?
Bridget: Well, only in my mind. Dr. Caspary says that everything's fine.
Nick: So this is just in your mind? Well, would you please stop worrying then? Forget the trip to New York. I'll cancel it. We'll go someplace. We'll have a little r&r together. Please, just relax.
Bridget: No. (Sighs) Nick, no. I'll be all right. You are needed in New York.
Nick: Well, I am. But this is on you now. Are you okay if I go with Aggie?
Nick: Okay. Well, I gotta get moving. I'll call you when I get there. Stop worrying.
Nick: Okay? Okay.
Owen: Hey, is Nick gone?
Bridget: Yeah, he just left.
Owen: Can we talk?
Oliver: And over there, we have the monkeys.
Oliver: That way to the elephants...
Oliver: And right in front of us, we have the--the bears.
Oliver: (Laughs) All right, let's focus on the monkeys.
Hope: Oh, my.
Oliver: Must be that time of year--mating season.
Hope: Mm-hmm, yeah. Good idea, Mom. Go to the zoo. Don't think about sex.
Ridge: Steffy, a fashion show is actually a very good thought.
Steffy: No-holds-barred. Traditional Forrester, signaling back to our glory days.
Brooke: Ridge? Do you have a minute?
Ridge: Sure. Can we talk about all this later?
Steffy: Yeah. Yeah, sure. You know what? Come on, Mom. I'm gonna bring you to the photo studio.
Taylor: All right.
Steffy: I've got some ideas to show you.
Taylor: Sure. Oh, I'd like to see this.
Brooke: I just had an interesting conversation with Hope and her boyfriend.
Ridge: Yeah? About what?
Brooke: Well, more like what a young couple can do that doesn't involve sex.
Man: I need you, Marie. I want you. I know you feel the same way.
Marie: But-- but what about our jobs?
Man: I'm willing to take that risk. Are you?
Marie: Yes. Yes. Make love to me.
(Romantic music playing)
Hope: (Whispering) Good idea, Mom. Go to the movies. No sex there. (Chuckles)
Oliver: And this is by whom?
Hope: Um, let's see? A, uh, Ganelli, an Italian artist.
Oliver: What's it called?
Hope: What else?
Hope: "Lovers." (Laughs)
Oliver: Your mom keeps comin' up with these great ideas.
Oliver: Are--are they doing that standing up?
Hope: (Sighs) Come on. Let's go get coffee. (Giggles)
Owen: I wish I could say something to make you feel better about this.
Bridget: Feel better about what?
Owen: Bridget, you and Nick are having a baby. I figured you'd be on cloud nine.
Bridget: How do you know that I'm not?
Owen: Well, come on. Look at you. You're stressed out. What's the problem?
Bridget: Oh, the problem is I can't forget what we did and how I... betrayed my husband.
Steffy: What? What's the matter?
Taylor: Nothing. I... I just don't want you to think that I'm not concerned about your involvement with Oliver.
Steffy: Oh, Mom, can you please, please just let it go?
Taylor: Wait a minute. I'm not saying that you should cave in to Brooke's demands by any means.
Steffy: Well, that's a relief.
Taylor: But Brooke does have a point.
Steffy: Mom, Brooke always has a point.
Taylor: Well, she's trying to protect her daughter.
Steffy: She's trying to protect the Logan legacy. Well, she can protect it in the valley, not here. Trust me. I'm not out to ruin Hope's life. But I'll tell you this. We will all be a lot better off without Hope and Brooke around.
Ridge: Sounds like you had a good talk with the kids. Better you than me.
Brooke: You don't agree?
Ridge: That sex should wait? Yes, of course I agree.
Ridge: As long as it has to do with Hope and Oliver. You and I, on the other hand...
Hope: Hey, guys.
Brooke: (Gasps) Oh, hi, honey. Mm-hmm.
Brooke: How was your afternoon?
Hope: Oh, it was great. We took your advice.
Oliver: Yeah, the, uh, the movies, the art museum, the zoo.
Brooke: Oh, what'd you see at the movies?
Hope: Oh, something romantic, very sexy.
Ridge: Mm, and what about the art museum?
Hope: Did you know they're doing a retrospective on renaissance lovers?
Brooke: Oh, I did read about that.
Ridge: Great. How about the zoo?
Oliver: It's mating season.
Hope: The most graphic part of our day.
Hope: Any other suggestions, Mom?
Brooke: Maybe you two should go home and jump in the pool.
Hope: Good idea. We will do that.
Oliver: All right.
Hope: (Laughs) Oh, fully clothed, of course.
Brooke: Oh, of course.
Ridge: Ahh, yes.
Brooke: Yeah. (Laughs)
Ridge: The best-laid plans, huh?
Brooke: Yeah, the pool. That--that'll be good for them. They can cool off a little bit.
Ridge: Yeah, they need that, but I don't, do I?
Hope: Oh, hey--
Hope: Oh, never mind. Sex is everywhere.
Ridge: Come here.
Bridget: I can't stop thinking about that night, everything that happened. It just goes against every-- everything I am as a human being.
Owen: Bridget, I feel the same exact way. I hate keeping secrets from Jackie, but we can't let this one moment of vulnerability destroy our lives. Come on, you--you have got a baby growing inside of you. You've got Nick's baby. You're gonna be a family. You've gotta focus on that.
Bridget: I can't.
Owen: But why not? Look, the two of you are gonna raise this beautiful little boy or girl together, and you're gonna forget about everything that happened between us.
Bridget: You just make it sound so simple.
Owen: That's because it is simple. List--I mean--
Bridget: No. (Sighs)
Owen: No, this can be simple. This child is a living legacy of you and Nick, your love for each other. You gotta focus on your blessings here. To be able to--to have a child with somebody you love, that's the greatest human experience anyone can have. I mean, I don't know. I guess maybe it's just more clear to me because this is an experience that I'm never gonna have. I'm never gonna be a father. But through you and Nick, I can--I can live vicariously.
Bridget: I'm so sorry, Owen. I'm so sorry.
Owen: About what? No, I'm--look, I'm sorry. This isn't--this isn't about me. I've got my blessings. You've got yours. But... (sighs) I mean, you and Nick are having a baby. This is a gift from God. I... you know, the joy of bringing another human into this world is-- it's amazing to be able to be a parent. I-I can't even imagine something that could fulfill that way... to be a father.
Bridget: You are.
Owen: Wait, what?
Bridget: Oh, I can't do this anymore. (Sniffles) I just can't.
Bridget: It's this baby. This--it's not Nick's.
Owen: Wait. That... you're not pregnant with Nick's baby?
Owen: Wait a minute. Are you-- are you telling me that...
Owen: That I am-- I'm the father?
Owen: That--that--that that baby is mine?
Owen: Oh, my God. Cowabunga, I... I mean, I'm--I'm gonna be a dad!
Bridget: You're gonna be a dad.
Owen: I'm gonna be-- this is the baby that I've always wanted, Bridget! Oh, my God! Oh, God. (Sighs) I'm gonna be a dad. (Sighs)
