Brooke: Mm. You want some coffee?

Ridge: Mm, no, I think I have everything I need to rev me up right here.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Ridge: How about you? You're the one that needs a little boost.

Brooke: (Sighs heavily)

Ridge: Did you get any sleep at all last night?

Brooke: Mm, my daughter's pregnant. I should be overjoyed, right? (Chuckles)

Ridge: Look, with Bridget’s history, you have every right to be concerned.

Brooke: And I'm not the only one. I saw Bridget and Jackie arguing yesterday when I went back in there to get my purse.

Ridge: Yeah, you said they were kind of intense.

Brooke: Yeah, uh, they did seem very intense. They were arguing, and they were... (sighs) very emotional. They didn't know that I was there.

Ridge: So you don't know for sure they were talking about the baby.

Brooke: No, I... (sighs) I really don't know what they were talking about.

Ridge: Could have just asked Jackie.

Brooke: No, she seemed really agitated. She was in a very weird space. But I definitely know that something's going on with my daughter and her mother-in-law.

Ridge: Well, when Bridget’s ready, she'll, uh, she'll talk to you.

Brooke: (Sighs) So what's going on with Hope? I heard you talking to her in the kitchen.

Ridge: Yeah. I'm trying to get a read on where she wants to go to college, whether it's gonna be here or one of the school's back east she's been accepted to.

Brooke: Mm. It just seems so far away. And if the launch for ‘Hope for the Future’ is a success...

Ridge: Do you want her to go school here and work at Forrester?

Brooke: Is that so selfish?

Ridge: No, I think it's a mother's prerogative.

Brooke: She's so excited. She really wants this, Ridge, and I really want it for her. And I believe that she has what it takes. The launch tonight will prove it. It will be a triumph for Hope. (Giggles)

(Camera shutter clicking)

Brio: Great. Great. Perfect. Just a few more, Hope. A little more energy, okay?

Hope: Yeah. Yeah, sure. I'll try. I'll try.

Oliver: That's some setup you got there.

Brio: It's my new baby. Are you in the market?

Oliver: Uh, no, it's out of my league. I'm--I'm an amateur.

Brio: Hope. Hope, hands down.

Hope: Oh, sorry. (laughs) sorry.

Brio: Stick with me. And get this done. Okay.

Oliver: You're gonna do great.

Brio: Nice. Nice. That's it. That's it. Right there. Beautiful. Love it.

Pam: (Laughs)

Steffy: You've gotta be kidding me. An exterminator? Pam, I love you.

Pam: Well I thought it was a fitting sendoff for Miss Donna.

Steffy: (Sighs) Two Logans down. Two more to go. We are so close to making Forrester Creations a totally Logan-free zone. (Sighs)

Hope: (Giggles)

Oliver: Yeah!

Hope: Stop. Stop. No.

Oliver: You were terrific.

Hope: Thank you.

Brio: Well, he's right. You know, it only takes one great shot to move whole collection, and I think we have a few great ones in here.

Steffy: Unfortunately it takes more than one photo to launch a campaign to get what we need. ‘Hope for the Future’ has to explode out of the gate. So will you two give it a rest? Hope, you really need to focus on your job.

(Cell phone rings)

Hope: That's mine.

(Drumming fingers on table)

Oliver: You trying to make her nervous?

(Rings)

Hope: Hey, it's my dad. He says he needs me in his office right away.

Oliver: I'll come with you.

Hope: Yeah, okay.

Taylor: Hey.

Pam: Hey

Taylor: How did the shoot go?

Pam: (Groans)

Steffy: Everything's gonna be okay.

Pam: (Chuckles) Hope was a little stiff. (Singsong voice) Boring.

Steffy: (Chuckles)

Pam: (Laughs)

Taylor: Wow.

Steffy: Mom, ‘Hope for the Future’ is not what Forrester is about.

Pam: Mnh-mnh.

Steffy: It's a leftover from the Logan era, okay? Hope should really just go away to college and let the Forresters handle the business.

Oliver: Hey, Mr. Forrester, your daughter was awesome.

Hope: (Giggles)

Brooke: Oh, hi, honey, Oliver.

Ridge: Hope, you remember Ms. Simmons from Eastern Valley University.

Hope: Yeah, yeah, of course. We met on my college tour back east.

Ms. Simmons: I'm out here recruiting, but I've got some very special news for you, Hope. The president of our university and the dean of admissions have authorized me to offer you the full presidential scholarship.

Brooke: (Gasps)

Hope: What? Oh, my gosh, the presidential scholarship?

Oliver: Guess that's a-a big deal, huh?

Brooke: Yeah.

Ms. Simmons: It's our most prestigious award for the incoming class at Eastern Valley. We only give these once a year. I'm proud to offer it to you, Hope.

Oliver: Congratulat--le that's awesome!

Brooke: We are so proud, of you, sweetheart. (Giggles)

Oliver: Wait a minute. Eastern Valley? Does that mean you're going to a college back on the east coast?

Hope: I'm very flattered and proud. I mean, this a huge honor. But...

Brooke: We don't need to give an answer right now.

Ms. Simmons: No, we understand a student like Hope has her pick of colleges.

Steffy: Wait. Stop.

Ms. Simmons: This is an important decision.  Talk it over with your parents. If you have any questions, here's my card. I'll expect to hear from you in the next few days.

Hope: Thank you. Um, again, I'm very honored, and I'll let you know soon.

(Knock on door)

Steffy: Hey, Dad, do you have a minute?

Ridge: Sure. Come on in.

Brooke: We'll walk you out Ms. Simmons. Hope, Oliver.

Steffy: Hi.  So who was that?

Ridge: College recruiter. Hope's been offered a very, uh, very impressive scholarship.

Steffy: Oh, to a California college?

Ridge: No, east coast.

Steffy: Oh, so if she takes it, then she has to leave.

Ridge: Well, let's, uh, see how it goes.

Steffy: Yeah.

Ridge: You know, the launch might affect her decision.

Steffy: Yeah.

(Intercom buzzes)

Ridge: Yeah? Okay, I'll be right there. I've gotta go down to the pattern room. I'll be back soon, okay, sweetie?

Steffy: Okay.

Steffy: Okay, did you hear that?

Pam: Yes. Looks like our little Miss Hope has a pretty big decision to make.

Steffy: Mm-hmm. Well, maybe we can make it easier for her.

Pam: Meaning?

Steffy: Meaning fashion is a very tough business, you know? If you're not 100% committed, you're gonna get eaten alive. If Hope had that kind of commitment, she wouldn't be looking at schools on the east coast. Now that she has a scholarship, if this campaign, I don't know, crashes, she'll be okay.

Pam: If it crashes?

Steffy: Mm-hmm. See, that's the problem with these Logan lines.  They don't last. Royalty, Glamour-- they're all gone. Maybe Hope for the Future could end before it even begins. (Chuckles)

Hope: Oliver?

Madison: Hey.

Hope: Hey.

Madison: Congratulations. I just heard. The presidential scholarship?

Hope: Oh, yeah. Uh, thanks. Wow, the recruiter, like, just left the building. (laughs)

Madison: Well, your boyfriend just told me.

Hope: Oh.

Madison: He's really proud of you. Oops, what'd I say?

Hope: Oh, nothing, no. It's just, um, it's just a huge honor, you know? I wasn't expecting it. It would be hard to turn down.

Madison: Why would you?

Hope: Well, you know, it's so far. Outside Boston. I'd have to drop the campaign and plus, I'd miss my family.

Madison: Not to mention Oliver.

Hope: Okay, my parents would die if they heard me say this, but, yeah. I mean, I know we haven't been dating that long, but I've never met anyone like him.  I just--I really, really don't want to lose him. There's just one problem.

Madison: Your folks.

Hope:  Steffy. She is constantly throwing herself at him, and now that she's the spokes model for the bedroom line, she has the perfect opportunity to run around in her underwear.

Steffy: Excuse me?

Madison: Whoops. Um, I have something I need to do.

Steffy: Okay. Hope, you listen to me. Don't you dare try to belittle my job like that. Could you stand up in front of a bunch of strangers wearing nothing but lingerie? No way. You'd run away (fingers snap) like that.

Hope: You don't have to tell me you work well in lingerie, Steffy. Isn't that how you got the company back?

Steffy: Mm, Hope, pull your claws back in. I already know what you think of me. You think I'm a ho.

Oliver:  Excuse me, uh, I was looking for Hope.

Brooke: Oh, uh, Hope's not in here, but could you come in for a minute? I want to talk to you.

Oliver: Yeah, sure thing. What's up, Mrs. Forrester?

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm gonna cut right to the chase. How do you feel about Steffy?

Oliver: Uh, we're friends.

Brooke: But you two kissed.

Oliver: Hope is the only girl I'm interested in.

Brooke: Good. Good for Hope, and good for you, too, because whatever designs Steffy might have on you, you can be sure that it's not out of genuine affection.

Oliver: Uh, like I said, Hope is my girlfriend. Whatever is going on with Steffy, it's from her, not me, and I'm not buying it.

Brooke: Okay, good. Thank you, Oliver.

Oliver: Yeah.

Taylor: My daughter's feelings aren't genuine? You had the audacity to say that?

Hope: Wearing lingerie doesn't make you a ho, Steffy. It's what you do while you're wearing it.

Steffy: I do my job. I do what my family and the company need me to do,  because I'm committed to seeing Forrester succeed. What about you?

Hope: What about me?

Steffy: You ready to get to work?

Hope: Photo shoot's over.

Steffy: Now it's time for bigger and better things.

Hope: What is this?

Steffy: Just some notes I jotted down for your press conference tonight.

Hope: Press conference? What, uh, no, I didn't know anything about that.

Steffy: I haven't heard back from everyone just yet, but I expect 30 or so of the hottest bloggers and journalists. Hope for the Future needs to take off, so you gotta put a show.

Hope: O-okay, but what am I supposed to do with this?

Steffy: Oh, I'll have one of our copywriters flesh it out into a speech. Of course, we'll have to expand it to make it more effective.

Hope: Wait, make longer?

Steffy: Mm-hmm.

Hope: Steffy, I-I-I can't memorize all of this?

Oliver: What's going on?

Steffy: Oh, hey, we're just going over Hope's press conference for tonight.

Hope: Look at this. These are just notes.  The speech is going to be longer. It's tonight. I had no idea. I only get one shot at this. I can't screw it up. Look, I-if I go out there unprepared, I'll panic.

Oliver: Steffy wouldn't let you go out there like that. She'll have a teleprompter, right?

Steffy: We're trying to reach a younger demographic. Teleprompters make you sound a little stuffy, a little canned.

Oliver: If you want her to keep to the script, you should put it up on the screen. Everybody uses a teleprompter, even the president. It's not that big a deal, Steffy.

Steffy: Fine. Fine, you can use a teleprompter. But it better not sound like you're reading some book report.

Hope: (Sighs)

Oliver: (Sighs)

Hope: Thank you. Thank you. God.

Oliver: It's okay.

Hope: (Sighs) You--you totally saved me just now. A-and you-ou know what? You probably saved the campaign, too. (Sighs)

Taylor: I am very well aware that Hope is dating Oliver and that you want to protect your daughter, but badmouthing her to one of our employees? Insinuating that she has emotional problem?

Brooke: I'm not sure that she doesn’t. The way that she's aligned herself with Stephanie, taken on the anti-Logan cause? Doesn't that concern you just a bit?

Taylor: You don't think Steffy's emotions about your family are justified?

Brooke: I realize she blames me for taking Ridge away from your family, but it's turned into something else. It's become some kind of crusade.

Taylor: I'm sure it feels that way to you.

Brooke: Look at what she did to get the company back. First she got Katie out and then Donna, and next it's going to be Hope and me.

Taylor: A conspiracy?

Brooke: I'm not saying it's going to happen. But Steffy wants this, maybe more than anything in the world. And that should concern you. Or maybe you're just oblivious, or you don't care. Or you're encouraging it.

Taylor: Ridge, thank God you're here. I'm so glad you showed up just now.

Ridge: Logan?

Brooke: I have some concerns about Steffy's behavior.

Taylor: Which she was discussing with one of our employees.

Brooke: An employee? I was talking with Oliver.

Taylor: And she was telling him that Steffy is trouble...

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: That she needs to be watched out for, and her feelings are not genuine.  That she's not capable of it.

Ridge: Is that true? Is that really what you said?

Brooke: Well... (sighs) that's not exactly what I said, Ridge.

Taylor: (Scoffs) Pretty much.

Brooke: I just wanted to warn Oliver and tell him the only reason that Steffy was interested in him was because he is Hope's boyfriend.

Taylor: See? She doesn't even deny it.

Ridge: Look, what is it gonna take with you two? What's it gonna take for us to get along here?

Brooke: (Sighs) I'm just concerned about Steffy. I really think that she would do anything to hurt my family. And I hate to say this, and I know you don't want to hear it, but I-I just don't trust her. I think that she wants to hurt Hope and ruin her new line.

Taylor: That is absurd.

Ridge: Look, Steffy is head of P.R. It's her campaign. She needs this to be a success.

Taylor: We all do. (Scoffs) I-if Hope and Steffy don't get along, I think we understand why. So stop blowing this out of proportion and dramatizing it like-- like Steffy has some kind of vendetta.

Brooke: Taylor, you've heard and seen the anger that Steffy has towards us.

Taylor: Well, it's very understandable why she has that anger, Brooke. We've talked about this, Ridge. You know what I'm dealing with.

Brooke: (Sighs)

Taylor: How much more do you want to take away from Steffy? It is natural, it is perfectly natural, for Steffy's anger to be transferred onto your daughter.

Brooke: I'm not gonna argue with a psychiatrist about what is natural. I'm just telling you what I see. And I really believe that Steffy's in a lot of pain. She's not in control of her actions.

Taylor: Well, if you genuinely believe that, well, then I would think that you'd have a little more tolerance for her and be a little more empathetic.

Brooke: You know, I have. I have, Taylor. I've had a lot of tolerance. And if she does anything to hurt my daughter, she is going to have to answer to me.

Taylor: (Scoffs)

Oliver: Don't let Steffy get to you.

Hope: I can't help it. Everything she said is true. I mean, this press conference could make or break the whole collection.

Oliver: No matter what happens tonight, everything's gonna work out for you.

Hope: Now you're just talking about the scholarship.

Oliver: Come on, you've gotta be so proud of that. It's so cool.

Hope: Yeah, but now it's not only the future of the collect on the line. It's my future, too. I mean, if this bombs, then my dad will can it, I will take the scholarship and go to school back east. But if it's a hit, I'll stay here and go to school in L.A.

Oliver: Well, I'm not worried. You're gonna do great.  Come on. This is every girl's dream. You got your name in lights. That's so cool.

Hope: (Chuckles)

Oliver: All right, the key to a good performance is attitude.

Hope: Attitude.

Oliver: Attitude. You got your teleprompter, right? The whole script will be right there for you so you don't need to worry about that? Just--just focus on them.

Hope: Who?

Over: The audience.

Hope: Oh.

Oliver: (chuckles)  Just make eye contact. Draw them in. And they want to hear what you have to say, so just talk to them.

Hope: Okay. It doesn't--that doesn't sound that hard.

Oliver: It's not. There is reason why your dad made you spokes model for this campaign. He's proud of you. And so am I.

Steffy: (Sighs)

Pam: So what's the plan? (Laughs) You have one, don't you?

Steffy: Pam, all the pieces just fell into place the minute Hope got a scholarship. If there's no reason for her to stay in L.A., then there's no way dad and Brooke will let her turn it down. It all comes down to this press conference tonight.

Pam:  So if she does well, then she goes to college out here and stays working at the company.

Steffy: But it won't go well. Mmm. You know, you should really start crocheting a sweater for her with the letter "B" on it for "Boston," because that's where she's headed.  Ooh, poor Hope. Her big moment in the spotlight. We've been looking for something to make this launch memorable, and I think I figured it out. I know exactly what to do to get rid of Hope and Brooke for good.
