Eric: Stephanie--

Stephanie: So you've chosen Donna over me. Well, I guess I should be used to that.

Eric: (Sighs)

Stephen: Beth? Honey? Why don't I go get you something to eat?

Beth: Oh, I just-- I just ate... on the--on the cruise. Oh... that was hours ago. Days?

Stephen: Well, it's been a while, so why don't I make you a sandwich, huh?

Beth: Okay. Stephen? Where are you going? Stephen?

Brooke: No, Mom, don't fret. Everything's gonna be okay.

Beth: Not with that woman in the house.

Donna: Mom, listen, we don't want you worrying about Stephanie.

Beth: You worry, and you should, Donna. You should.

Brooke: I don't have to worry about Stephanie. I'm happily married to Ridge.

Donna: Brooke and I don't have to worry about Stephanie, Mom.

Beth: (Sighs) Uh, but she's living in your home, Donna. She's in your home. (Sighs)

Brooke: Mom, we're big girls now. We can take care of ourselves.

Beth: But I-- but I can help. I can still help, like you helped me. I can help. I can help.

Donna: It's okay.

Brooke: Yeah, it's okay.

Beth: I can help.

Bill: Anything I can do?

Katie: I wish. I wish you could make this horrible disease go away.

Bill: So do I, baby.

Katie: (Sniffles)

Bill: Well, at least your mother's in town, right?

Katie: (Sighs) Yes, and I'm so grateful for that. I'm so grateful that she's here with the family.

Katie: She's just deteriorating so fast.

Bill: That's why we have to make this time very special for her.

Katie: (Sighs) Time is so fleeting, isn't it?

Bill: We only have the now, baby. And you know what? Your mother is surrounded by her children, the man who loves her. It could be much worse.

Katie: It is worse. She's in that house with Stephanie.

Bill: You really think Stephanie will be a problem?

Katie: (Scoffs) If you had seen her today, you wouldn't be asking that question.

Bill: What do you mean?

Katie: She is determined to ruin Donnaís marriage. She's been after my sisters since they were teenagers, and no one is more aware of that than my mother. (Sighs) You think Stephanie is loyal to her family? You haven't seen anything until you've seen my mother in action. She will fight until her dying breath. And I don't want her to have to do that.

Stephen: Honey, look. I found your favorite-- roast beef.

Beth: Oh, not... (Chuckles) Oh, not now. Not now. I--

Stephen: Beth, listen. Listen. Listen. It's no good for you to feel you have to fight with Stephanie. The girls have this under control now.

Beth: But she-- but she is still here. I-I need to get... I need to get rid of her. I need to--

Stephen: Shh. Shh, shh, shh.

Donna: No, Mom. Mom, Eric will deal with Stephanie.

Beth: Eric is too nice. He's never been able to fight her. But me, I-I can. I can. I can. I can.

Stephen: Shh, shh, shh, shh.

Stephanie: I'm sorry you ever asked me to stay in the guesthouse in the first place.

Eric: I wanted you to move in.

Stephanie: (Chuckles) And now you want me to move out.

Eric: Look, I'm sorry that this is happening.

Stephanie: They're taking advantage of your kindness and your generosity. Well, I suppose I am, too, in another way.

Eric: No, no, you're not, and neither are they.

Stephanie: You never could see the worst in anybody. I guess that's one of the reasons I love you.

Eric: And you're such a fierce defender of your family. I guess that's one of the things I love about you, too.

Stephanie: But it's not enough.

Eric: This isn't just about you and me. This is about human compassion. Beth is dying of Alzheimerís, and I'm married to her daughter. And although things have not been going well for us, I... (Sighs) she needs my support. I--What kind of a man would I be to walk away from her right now?

Stephanie: That woman is going to need constant supervision. That's why I keep telling everybody this house is not equipped to give her the very best care, the best care that she deserves. And her daughters and her husband will not acknowledge it. They won't see it. It's very selfish on their part. And because of their selfishness, I'm supposed to move out.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: Here you go, baby.

Katie: Thanks. You know, my mother has been fighting for us her entire life. She just deserves some peace, especially now.

Bill: Well, we have to help her see that.

Katie: It's just so hard. It's so frustrating dealing with someone with this disease. You can't reason with them. A-And you never know who you're gonna get-- if you're--if she's gonna be lucid and clear, or if she's gonna be completely incoherent. And she's just become so obsessive-compulsive.

Bill: In what way?

Katie: In every way. She's got this lace that she's sewn pictures of--of Storm and my sisters and me, and she says that it keeps us with her always, even when she's confused. She won't let it out of her sight, and God help you if you try to touch it.

Bill: (Sighs) Well, you know what? There's got to be something we can do for her.

Katie: We can keep her calm, but it's hard to do with Stephanie in her face.

Bill: Sweetheart, you need to stop focusing on Stephanie. Focus on your mom. Shower her with all the love and attention you can. Wait on her hand and foot. Treat her like a queen.

Katie: I'll do that. And you, my love, my husband... are a prince. (Sighs)

Stephen: Listen, uh, I think we'd better avoid the subject of Stephanie.

Brooke: I agree.

Donna: (Sighs) It won't matter. If Eric allows Stephanie to stay in the guesthouse, Mom and Stephanie will cross paths.

Stephen: Well, then, we-- we just have to prevent that.

Donna: But how? When Eric and I are here in the house, I mean, Stephanie, she just barges through the door. That's how she does it.

Stephen: (Sighs)

Brooke: I think it's time to take Mom to my house for a while.

Stephen: Oh, honey, I've already suggested that to her, and she won't have any part of it. You know how your mother gets. She gets an idea, she's gonna hang on to it. She wants to be here. She's gonna stay here.

Beth: (Thinking) (echoing) That woman poisons everything she touches. I won't let her hurt us anymore. I have to protect my daughters.

Eric: I don't know what's gonna happen. All I know is--is what feels right to me.

Stephanie: Does your marriage feel right to you? Because if it does, then just say it.

Eric: No, no, of course it doesn't, and you know it.

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Eric: But your being here doesn't help.

Stephanie: I'm a strong woman, Eric.

Eric: Is that right?

Stephanie: Yeah, I know you've noticed it.

Eric: Yeah, yeah. I feel like you're going someplace with this. Where?

Stephanie: I'm a strong woman, but I'm not that strong.

Eric: (Sighs)

Stephanie: When you kicked me out of Forrester, I was devastated. I--but I-I got my life together. I went over to Jackie M. with--with Jackie, with Nick. I was happy. I was content. And I built a wall around my heart. And then we had the chance to get the company back, and I thought, okay, this is for the family. I can be around you. I can work with you, despite Donna. I will accept the marriage. That's all well and good. And then you... you kissed me, and that wall came crumbling down. You told me you love me, and I had to make a decision at that moment to believe you and trust you, or... If your future is with this woman, then you have got to tell me that right now.

Eric: I don't know.

Stephanie: (Sighs)

Eric: I don't know what the future is. (Sighs) All I really know is that, uh, having you at Forrester with me, working with you again, I thank God for that every day. Having the children happy again, seeing them like this, I thank God for that every day, too. I love you. But maybe it would be better for both of us if I didnít.

Stephanie: Still the same little boy that wants his cake and wants to eat it, too. I'm gonna leave tonight.

Donna: Oh.

Stephen: Beth, honey, where are you going?

Beth: To the bathroom.

Donna: Oh, oh, I'll go with you, Mom.

Beth: Uh, no, I'll be fine.

Donna: No, really, it's okay. I don't mind.

Beth: Donna, I am still your mother. (Sighs)

Donna: Eric? Hi. Hi.

Eric: Hey. I asked Stephanie to leave.

Donna: What? Oh, my God, darling, thank you! Thank you! Thank you! (Giggles) Thank you so much.

Stephen: Eric, you did the right thing, and we all appreciate that.

Donna: (Sighs)

Brooke: Yes, thank you, Eric.

Donna: (Sighs)

Eric: Could we all just lay off Stephanie now? This is not easy for her.

Bill: I don't believe so, but let me check. Does your mom have any dietary restrictions at all?

Katie: No, I don't think so.

Bill: No, no restrictions. So listen, I want you to vary the food every day, and, Jean Paul, presentation is very important.

Katie: (Sighs)

Bill: I want everything first-class, just like in the executive dining room. Thanks. Jean Paul is the best.

Katie: No, you're the best. Thank you.

Bill: You don't have to thank me. All right, so all your mom's meals will be catered from the executive dining room. What else can we do?

Katie: Uh, I'm waiting for hospice to call me back. I got to get ahold of Eric.

Bill: Why?

Katie: Well, if mother's going to be staying there, then Eric needs to coordinate with in-home hospice.

Bill: You know what? Uh, I think I have a better idea. Why don't we move your mom in here? We have a beautiful guest room. She'll have the deck, the beach.

Katie: You--you mean that? Oh, my God, I would love that. That would mean so much to me to have her here, to spend time with her and take care of her. Thank you. Oh, thank you.

(Knock on door)

Stephanie: Eric, you'd better not have changed your mind again.

Beth: Get out.

Stephanie: Beth, what are you doing over here?

Beth: Never mind.

Stephanie: Did Eric say something to you?

Beth: No. No.

Stephanie: You shouldn't be out--

Beth: Just get out of here.

Stephanie: You shouldn't be out of the house alone.

Beth: You shouldn't be here at all. You want Eric again.

Stephanie: Does Stephen know that you're out of the house?

Beth: But you can't--but you cannot--you cannot have him.

Stephanie: Let's not argue. Let's not argue, okay? Let me just walk you back to the house.

Beth: No. You--you stay away from my daughters.

Stephanie: Beth, I don't have anything to say to your daughters. I just--I just want to help you, all right?

Beth: Help me? (Scoffs) You have never helped me.

Stephanie: Okay, I'm gonna call Stephen up at the house.

Beth: No. No, you canít.

Stephanie: (Sets phone down) Come on.

Beth: Don't touch me. Don't touch me. Don't touch.

Stephen: Eric, I realize Stephanie has been through a lot, but she brought this on herself.

Donna: Oh, Daddy. Daddy, don't, please.

Stephen: Honey, I am just making the point.

Eric: You know, for the record, Stephen...

Donna: (Sighs)

Eric: It was my idea. I asked Stephanie to stay here. It wasn't her idea.

Donna: Okay, all right. And--and now she's gone. So can we just please let it go? And thank you. Thank you. You don't know how relieved I am.

Eric: Okay.

Donna: (Sighs)

Brooke: Where's Mom? Shouldn't she be back by now?

Stephen: Why don't you check the bathroom, huh?

Brooke: Okay.

Donna: Yeah, let's go.

Stephanie: Beth. Beth, wait a minute. Wait.

Beth: Stay away from me.

Stephanie: Wait a minute. Wait. Wait. I-I... don't be frightened, please, okay? I-I-I won't touch you. I won't touch you. I-I just want to take you back up to the house.

Beth: No.

Stephanie: Yeah, I want to make sure that you're safe. Please?

Beth: (Scoffs) You're a liar.

Stephanie: No.

Beth: You always have been. You hate us, and you think you can get away with anything.

Stephanie: Beth--

Beth: And for the most part, you have.

Stephanie: Look, just calm down, all right, please? I see how confused you are, are you're just--

Beth: But--but no. You were a hateful old woman, and now you are a bitter old one! You have won so many times. But I know you, Stephanie, and I will not let you win this time. I will not let you win! I will not. Stop it. Stop it!

Stephanie: All right, Beth!

Beth: (Gasps) (Gasps) (Sighs) I... (Gasps) (Sobs) (Breathing heavily) (Gasps) (Grunts) (Choking) Aah! No. Aah! (Gasping) Help! Aah!

Bill: So let's really try to get your mom over here, okay? Away from all the chaos at Ericís, especially Stephanie.

Katie: (Sighs) That would be so great. It's just amazing that you would do this for my mom.

Bill: When I married you, I told you that I never knew about being part of a family. Now I do.

Katie: We just don't know how much time we'll have left. I don't even know how long she'll remember us.

Katie: (Sighs) (Sniffles)

Brooke: Mom? Oh, Stephanie, have you seen my mother? We can't find her.

Stephanie: Thank God you're here. This is exactly why your mother shouldn't be on this property.

Brooke: Okay.

Stephanie: She can get out on her own.

Brooke: But have you seen her? Where is she?

Stephanie: Yes, she's down at the pool.

Brooke: The pool?

Donna: Mom? Mom? Mom? (Screams) (Screams) (Screaming)
