Oliver: Maybe you just need to feel something else instead.
Steffy: What are you doing, Hope?
Hope: What am I-- what are you and Oliver doing?
Steffy: Uh, the last time I checked, kissing wasn't a crime.
Oliver: Stop, okay? Hope's upset.
Steffy: I can see that. There's no reason to be. It was only--
Hope: What? Just a friendly kiss?
Steffy: Yeah, basically.
Hope: Well, it didn't look like that to me.
Steffy: You didn't say why you stopped by. You're not spying on Oliver, I hope.
Hope: You would think that.
Steffy: What's that? Proofs?
Hope: Yeah, um, your mom and Stephanie wanted to see them, and I rang the bell, but no one answered.
Oliver: Hope, wait.
Hope: Why, you don't think I'm gonna stick around for an encore, do you?
Oliver: It's-- it's not like that.
Hope: We had plans, "Mr. Entertainment."
Oliver: Hey, I haven't forgotten.
Hope: But it looks like you're entertaining someone else.
Oliver: Hope, will you listen?
Hope: Why? Why? So you can make up some lame excuse as to why you're here? Because it looks pretty clear to me.
Brooke: (Sighs) (Giggles)
Ridge: Wasn't that worth turning in early for?
Brooke: (Sighs) And to think I wanted to wait downstairs for Hope.
Ridge: No, what you wanted to do was ambush her and her new boyfriend when they came home from their date.
Brooke: Stop. I just wanted to meet him.
Brooke: Hoped seemed so smitten.
Ridge: Smitten? Whoa. That's, like, something my father would have said. You don't think we're like-- no, it's not possible that we're, uh...
Brooke: Turning into our parents?
Ridge: No, no, no.
Brooke: No, no, no. (Laughs)
Ridge: No, that's not gonna happen.
Brooke: No, that could never happen. No, no.
Ridge: No, no.
Brooke: Uh, I'm-- I'm not sure if I left a light on downstairs.
Ridge: For Hope and her beau?
Brooke: I should check.
Ridge: No, no, no. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Ridge: What you should do I just relax.
Brooke: (Sighs) Okay.
Ridge: Okay? You know, you were this way with Bridget...
Ridge: When she first started dating in high school.
Brooke: No, no, I was worse. (Sighs) You know what? I should just relax.
Brooke: 'Cause this young man that Hope seems so--
Ridge: Smitten with.
Brooke: Seems very mature and very responsible. Mm.
Ridge: You mean for a high school kid, you mean?
Brooke: I forgot to ask Hope how old he is.
Ridge: Well, he's gotta be about her same age, right? Didn't they meet in school?
Brooke: Uh, no. No, at Insomnia. He's a deejay there, and she thought he was really cute, and apparently, he thought the same thing.
Ridge: Well, she is cute.
Ridge: And they're now out on their first official date.
Brooke: (Sighs) Yeah. I'm really excited for her. I just-- you know, this is the first time I've seen her so interested in a young man. I hope he doesn't disappoint her.
Oliver: Hope, come on. Will you listen to me? It's not what it looks like.
Hope: God, what does that even mean?
Steffy: It means you're acting like he did something terribly wrong. He didn't come here to hurt you. If you hadn't shown up unexpectedly--
Hope: Whoa, whoa. You are turning this back around on me when you're the one-- what is your problem, Steffy?
Steffy: Hope, I am not trying to ruin your life, if that's what you're thinking.
Hope: Then please, please explain to me why you lured Oliver over here if it wasn't to hit on him. Or wait, did you come over here on your own?
Steffy: You want to take this one, or should I?
Oliver: Would you give me and Hope a moment alone?
Steffy: Yeah, I'll let you lovebirds talk. I'll just be over here.
Hope: No. I want to hear you say it.
Steffy: Say what?
Hope: That kiss-- it--it was payback, wasn't it? I-I mean, that was you getting back at me.
Steffy: Oh, yes, I kissed him wanting you to see us, even though I had no idea you were stopping by. That's ridiculous.
Hope: You know what, Steffy? If you want Oliver, you can have him. It's fine.
Steffy: (Sighs) Let her go. She'll be okay.
Ridge: Thank you.
Ridge: Oliver? That's the guy's name?
Brooke: The boy she pretended to be engaged to. Remember? According to Hope, he's very sweet.
Ridge: Yeah, like she'd tell her parents anything else.
Brooke: You don't trust our daughter?
Ridge: I trust Hope implicitly. It's young guys with raging hormones that I, uh, worry about.
Brooke: Mm. And then if he is older...
Ridge: Hopefully not too much older. That creates a whole different set of problems.
Brooke: Well, maybe not. Not if he's the person that she described.
Ridge: This guy knows she has a curfew, right?
Brooke: Well, we could text her and remind her.
Ridge: Oh, that would be so not cool.
Ridge: No, no, no, no.
Brooke: No, don't worry. She's gonna be home for sure by 11:00. She promised. Anyway, she's gonna be seeing him tomorrow night.
Ridge: Tomorrow night?
Brooke: Don't tell me you've forgotten.
Ridge: Forgotten what?
Brooke: You're kidding me, right? Hope's been talking about it every single day. The dance in the Forrester showroom. Our daughter.
Ridge: Yeah, being elected queen. Like I could forget that, yeah.
Brooke: Ahh, okay.
Ridge: Any more than I'd forget any of the other amazing moments in our kids' lives.
Brooke: Especially when Steffy announced that she got Forrester Creations back for you?
Ridge: That was a truly magical moment for me.
Brooke: It was probably magical for her, too. Maybe one of the proudest of her life.
Steffy: Mom? Mom, hey, when did you get home?
Taylor: Oh, well, just a little bit ago. Um, I came in the back way.
Steffy: I thought you and Grandma were having dinner.
Taylor: Yeah, we did, but, uh, she's running an errand right now.
Taylor: What is that?
Steffy: Oh, proofs. Hope stopped by. She wanted to drop them off to you and Grandma.
Taylor: Oh. Well, she didn't have to come drop that by. That was very thoughtful of her.
Steffy: Yeah, if you say so.
Taylor: Did something happen while Hope was here?
Steffy: You mean, did I accidentally on purpose push her into the pool? No, though I think she would have preferred that instead.
Taylor: Um, what happened?
Steffy: Uh, Oliver was kissing me.
Taylor: Who's Oliver?
Steffy: This really great guy who's nice and sweet and--
Taylor: W-Wait a minute. Are we talking about a guy named Oliver that's related to Whip, his cousin? He's a deejay?
Steffy: Small world, huh?
Taylor: I didn't even know you were seeing anybody.
Steffy: Oh, I'm not seeing anyone, mnh-mnh.
Taylor: Then why were you kissing him? And why would Hope be upset anyway, unless... does Hope like Oliver, too?
Steffy: Well, after tonight, I doubt she still feels that way.
Oliver: Hope, don't go. Please, we need to talk.
Hope: If this is about you and Steffy, I-I--don't want to go there.
Oliver: Look, what you walked in on-- just--just let me explain or try to. Come on. I know how it looks, Hope, but it's not how it is.
Ridge: It still amazes me what Steffy was able to do.
Brooke: You're her father. She idolizes you. She would have sold her soul to get that company back for you.
Ridge: Yeah, well, that's exactly what worries me a little. Sometimes she just seems a little overzealous.
Brooke: (Chuckles) You can say that again.
Ridge: I mean, that was okay when Spencer had us by the throat, but now that we've got the company back, she still seems so driven.
Brooke: Mostly to rid all traces of Logans from Forrester Creations, which I'm trying not to take too personally.
Ridge: Look, it's not an easy time, I know.
Brooke: (Sighs) I still think about the day when we're eventually all going to be able to work together. I think Hope took a baby step in that direction tonight. She agreed to drop off the proofs from the "Hope for the Future" line so Stephanie and Taylor could take a look, and she didn't even put up a fuss that I was sending her into the enemy camp. But then again, she was on cloud nine because of her date, and anything I asked her, I think she would have said yes.
Ridge: Hmm. Maybe that's what Steffy needs right now, too-- a new romance. Some young guy her own age that she can, uh, get wrapped up in and have a little fun.
Taylor: Of all the young men in L.A., you and Hope are interested in the same one?
Steffy: I never said I was interested in Oliver.
Taylor: Then why were you kissing him?
Steffy: 'Cause it kinda, like, just happened.
Taylor: Oh, great. Great. When Brooke finds out about this from her daughter, we'll all be hearing about it.
Steffy: I know. She'll think I'm purposely going after Oliver as another way of messing with the Logans. I know.
Taylor: Oh, my God. You bet she will, and then she'll cry foul, and I'm sure she'll find a way to use it to her advantage.
Steffy: Not if I get to her first.
Taylor: What does that mean?
Steffy: Well, I got Forrester Creations back for the family against all odds, didn't I?
Taylor: Yes, you did, but now I want you to stop doing battling, okay? Your grandfather and grandmother and your dad and I, we have this whole thing under control, all right? The Logans are out.
Steffy: Mom, the Logans will always be causing trouble at Forrester in any capacity. You know that. So why don't I just give them a heave-ho? I've got the ammunition to make that happen. So why shouldn't I use it?
Oliver: Hope, please, unlock the door. I don't want you to leave this way. Come on.
Hope: Whatever you have to say, Oliver, right now, I really don't want to hear it. I just want to go home.
Oliver: Then let me drive you. You shouldn't get behind the wheel if you're upset.
Hope: I'm not upset. I'm not. I was, but I'm over it. And you don't owe me any explanations. It's not like we had anything serious going on.
Oliver: Just-- just let me explain, okay? We had a date. I was supposed to pick you up. I got sidetracked. I'm sorry. It was wrong.
Hope: And now you've apologized. Don't worry. Your boy scout image is still intact. However, if you get involved with Steffy, it won't be for long.
Oliver: I'm not involved with Steffy, okay? I just came over tonight because I needed something from her.
Hope: (Scoffs) Yeah, it doesn't take a genius to know what that was.
Oliver: It's not what you think it is.
Hope: You keep saying that. "It's not what you think it is." Like it's supposed to make what's happening better.
Oliver: There's nothing happening, okay? It--it's not wha--
Hope: Not like I think?
Oliver: Okay, th-- okay, there is something, but I-it's something significant that could affect a lot of people's lives. It's--it's just complicated.
Hope: What, and because I'm a kid, I wouldn't get it? Oh, but Steffy would, so that's why you confided in her tonight.
Oliver: I didn't confide in Steffy, okay? Not what--
Hope: Oh, you just needed something from her. But you can't tell me what it is, and you can't tell me how you started kissing. You know, I really should be calling you "Mr. What do you take me for" instead of "Mr. Entertainment." I'm not an idiot, Oliver.
(Car door shuts)
Oliver: I'm sorry. I won't leave. Not when you're thinking what you are about me right now.
Brooke: Ridge, you're right. I think it would be terrific for Steffy to find a boyfriend her own age.
Ridge: Maybe this Oliver has a, uh, a brother.
Brooke: No, I don't think so. But he does have a sister-- Aggie, as in Aggie Jones.
Ridge: As in Nick and Bridget’s surrogate? Oh, come on, Logan.
Brooke: I know. I know. She brought a world of heartache to Bridget, to her life. But it doesn't mean she has anything to do with her brother or with Hope and, you know, we haven't e-even met Oliver yet.
Ridge: In the meantime, my other daughter is, uh, fixated on everything company-wise until her personal life is pretty much nonexistent.
Brooke: Well, it wouldn't be if she found some way to get me out of the company.
Ridge: That is not gonna happen, sweetheart.
Brooke: Ridge, believe me. Steffy is not going to give up until she finds something that she can use against me.
Taylor: What do you mean you've got ammunition?
Steffy: Information-- something I could use to get Brooke out of the company for good.
Taylor: Steffy, I want you to listen to me. I-I know you love your family, and I-I love the way you're devoted to us. And you're-- you're such a beautiful and amazing young woman. I just--I don't want this to consume you, okay? I just-- (Sighs) I don't want you doing this. This isn't what you should be doing at your age. You should be out having fun, doing things that make you happy and--and not concerning yourself with th--this problem with the Logans. Just leave it alone. Your--your grandmother and I have got this covered. We can handle it.
Steffy: You shouldn't have to handle the Logans. They shouldn't be at Forrester. And I can make sure they're not, Mom.
Taylor: Steffy, listen to me. You have got to listen to me. It is time to let this go, okay? Let it go. Whatever you know about Brooke, just leave it alone. She's going to self-destruct anyway. She always does. It's gonna come out, whatever it is. Okay? Just leave it alone. Just stop letting this eat you alive, and--and go out and--and date, and meet a lot of people. Date men who are free and they don't have divided loyalties.
Steffy: (Chuckles) Mom, don't worry. If I want Oliver, I can get him.
Hope: Why do you care so much what I think about you?
Oliver: Because we're friends, and I like you.
Hope: You just like Steffy more.
Oliver: Did I say that?
Hope: You didn't have to say it. That kiss pretty much said it all.
Oliver: That kiss never should have happened.
Hope: Yeah, but it did, and I saw it, so now...
Oliver: You think I want to be with Steffy?
Hope: Look, Oliver, you should know that Steffy doesn't do anything these days without a reason. I'm not--I'm not saying that she's using you. But I think it's pretty clear that she's got an agenda.
Oliver: Getting back at your mother.
Hope: Of course, if you asked her, she'd say it's completely justified, since my mom stole her dad away, wrecked her entire childhood. That is, of course, Steffy’s selective memory. But, hey, if you want to hang out with her, go ahead. Be my guest.
Oliver: I don't want to hang out with Steffy. It's not like that between Steffy and me.
Hope: You're a guy, Oliver. Steffy is beautiful and fun and unpredictable. You know, she's got a dark side. That just makes her more fascinating, doesn't it?
Hope: You know, I'm really glad I saw what I did before we ever went out again, much less went to the dance together. I mean, it's not like you really want to go anyway. It's just a dumb high school dance.
Oliver: Would you stop, please? I want to go to the dance with you. I want to go out tonight with you. I want you, Hope, not Steffy. I think we could have something really special. I know we can. Will you just give me another chance? Will you give me another chance?
Hope: Yes, I will.
