Nick: Something happen tonight you want to tell me about?
Bridget: (Sighs) Honey, uh, what I've done to you is inexcusable-- making myself out to be the one who's always right.
Nick: You are always right.
Bridget: No, Nick.
Nick: If there's something you want to tell me, tell me.
Jackie: Bridget was totally beside herself. She--she blamed herself. She blamed Aggie, of course. And she blamed Nick. She said they were never meant to be happy, that they were never meant to be together. And then she just ran off. She ran out of the hospital, and he no idea where she was. She finally called, and then she said that she was going to come home. Both their hearts have been broken.
Owen: This was so important to her. And now the loss of another baby-- my god. Her soul's probably got to be torn apart.
Jackie: Well, it would have to be, wouldn't it?
Owen: Well, whatever she's got to do to get past this, nobody has the right to judge her.
Ridge: Maybe we should all just go on a vacation, a trip. Maybe-- why don't we all go to Paris this summer?
Brooke: (Sighs) Paris in the summer? Sheesh.
Ridge: Okay. Colorado. Camping.
Brooke: Uh, who do you mean when you say "we all"?
Ridge: You, me and the kids.
Brooke: Which kids?
Ridge: Hope, R.J., Steffy, Thomas.
Brooke: And Taylor? You see, we're not really one big, happy family. We're splinters of two.
Ridge: Logan, I am not just gonna give up on all this.
Brooke: No, of course not. I mean, we may just have to find out a strategy for everybody involved, like Hope probably needs a longer leash and more encouragement, and Steffy, well, she needs a lot more of you.
Steffy: So, uh, should we order?
Marcus: Why, are you in a hurry?
Steffy: I just thought this place closed early.
Marcus: Why would you think that?
Steffy: Because the deejay is texting and not playing music.
Marcus: Maybe he's just on break or something.
Steffy: Yeah, yeah, could be.
Marcus: (Sighs) Look, what are we doing here? Huh? I mean, when I invited you to dinner, I meant some place nice, not some snack at a coffee shop.
Steffy: I'm tired of nice. I want to get rowdy and cause a scene.
Steffy: Oh, this should be interesting.
Hope: Sorry I'm late. Um, if that's me you're calling, I'm not there.
Oliver: Hey. Answer your phone or your messages once in a while. It's me again. Call me.
Hope: Okay, that was either your sister or your girlfriend.
Oliver: People don't take me seriously. My sister doesn't take me seriously.
Hope: I take you seriously. In fact, if that was your girlfriend, I'm gonna stab you with this fork.
Oliver: What would I do with a girlfriend?
Hope: Oh, well, hopefully, not playing with your phone and texting while you're talking to her.
Oliver: Ah, but this is a magic phone. You want to see?
Man: Here you go.
Steffy: Thank you.
Marcus: (Sighs) Thanks, man.
Man: You're welcome. Let me know when you're ready to order.
Marcus: Okay, cool. Do you want to invite them over?
Steffy: What? No. Are you kidding me? No.
Marcus: You know, what do you have against Hope, besides her being a Logan?
Steffy: Do I need anything else?
Oliver: What's the biggest problem with video on your cell phone?
Hope: Mm, I-I would say the squint factor.
Oliver: Exactly. So...
Hope: That's insane. What is that?
Oliver: A pocket projector.
Hope: Where did you get it?
Oliver: This rich kid threw this big party in Cambridge and ran out of his daddy's money, so he gave me it.
Hope: Cool. I want one.
Oliver: There's not many on the market yet. It's the, uh, the coast highway tonight.
Oliver: I was heading home to change to come meet you.
Hope: Yeah? Where's home?
Oliver: You know that guy, uh, Owen? He's married to my sister's boss.
Hope: Uh, yeah. Yeah, I know the name.
Oliver: Yeah, I'm, uh, staying at this-- this house some friend of his owns. It's, uh, it's really sweet. It's right on the beach. All I have to do is pay for the heat. I never want to leave.
Hope: So why do you?
Oliver: There was someone else there when I got home tonight.
Hope: Uh, who? The owner?
Oliver: Uh, I-I didn't want to barge in. Someone who likes candles is all I know.
Bridget: I think it's about time you found out exactly who you're married to.
Nick: You know, maybe tonight's not the right time to talk.
Bridget: Tonight I found out exactly what I'm capable of. And... (Sighs)
Nick: Bridget, now this accident wasn't your fault. You wanted her to take her medication. That's all you were asking her to do.
Bridget: I know, but I betrayed you, Nick. I ran from you at the hospital, and I turned my back on you. And it wasn't because I wanted to hurt you, honey. It wasn't even because I wanted to feel something. It was because I-- because I wanted to feel nothing.
Ridge: She's adventurous, all right. There's nothing she's afraid of. She's probably smarter than I am. She doesn't want me holding her hand or coddling her or paying her too much attention.
Brooke: (Sighs) She wants something. I mean, "attention" might be the wrong word.
Ridge: When I look back, Steffy’s always been independent. All that time she lived in London, I'd fly over there every three months or so to see her, and she'd be like, "Oh, hi, Dad." I don't know. Was it nice to see me? I don't know. (Chuckles) Sure didn't seem like that big of a deal.
Brooke: Well, of course it was a big deal. She loves you. It's not like she needs you to do anything for her. She just wants you to be around.
Marcus: How come they just don't put you in charge over at Forrester?
Steffy: I am. But only you and I know that.
Marcus: (Chuckles) No, I'm serious. That was a slick piece of business getting the company back from Spencer the way you did.
Steffy: I will tell you a secret. I was in way over my head. What?
Marcus: You were attracted to him.
Marcus: Did you ever, um... you know?
Steffy: No. No! He's married. God.
Marcus: Um, no kidding.
Marcus: Katie, my auntie-- I think I would know that.
Steffy: Has anyone ever said anything?
Marcus: No. They wouldn't talk about you in front of me, Steff. They know better.
Steffy: Well, the right guy will come around. Or maybe he already has.
Hope: So does that make you homeless now?
Oliver: I have flexible plans is all.
Hope: Mm, I should be more like that.
Oliver: I don't take you for the "sleep in the car" type.
Hope: Yeah, I don't sleep in cars, unless they come with showers now. In which case, maybe I would. (Laughs) It's--it's just things are really up in the air at work right now, and I need to have a more, "hey, whatever," kind of attitude about things. (Sighs) You think Owen would hire me?
Oliver: Well, how could you lose your job? Your dad runs the place.
Hope: Yes, this is true. But he has another daughter who's really not crazy about anyone named Logan, especially me.
Nick: Bridget, what's going on here? You're starting to scare me.
Bridget: (Sighs) I know. I'm starting to scare myself-- my selfishness, all the things I blamed you for.
Nick: Well, if you do want to put some blame somewhere, please, put it on me for not being able to be true to myself.
Bridget: No, Nick.
Nick: No, no, hear me out here. Because I had it the way I wanted it. You know, God gave me the son I wanted. It was all fine with me. But let's be honest, huh? We've each had this hole inside of us since we lost Nicole, that emptiness. But I wasn't able to stand true, you know? I wasn't able to say "no" to you, and here we are, okay? We--we've lost another child. So stop fighting me on this, please. I'm not gonna be able to get through this without you. Love's not a luxury, Bridget. It's not something you just pick and choose when you want it. It's a life-or-death deal, and I choose to live. But I'm not gonna be able to do that without you.
Jackie: I should call Nick.
Owen: I turned your phone off. If Nick's got something to say to you, it can wait till tomorrow morning. All you need to know tonight is how much I love you.
Jackie: You pick the strangest times to be a take-charge husband.
Owen: I don't pick 'em.
Jackie: Let me.
Owen: Make me clean.
Bridget: But I did that to you, Nick. I turned my back on you.
Nick: Well, you're here now.
Bridget: But, honey, you deserve so much better than me.
Nick: Okay, stop, please. This just--it feels like we're score-keeping here, like I was more wrong that you, or you were more wrong than me. I mean, we've--we've lost a child, and we're squabbling about who gets to feel worse. (Sighs) You know, life's not up to us, Bridget. We don't get to make that choice. And there's not some big reward for being good. (Sighs) So I highly suggest we find a little humility and a little compassion for one another. So starting now, I hereby declare an amnesty, which means no matter what's happened in this relationship, what either one of us have done wrong to one another from this moment forward is irrelevant, which means that life-- all of the joy and all of the happiness and all of the things that-- that our child won't experience, that's in our hands, that's what we get to live. And I choose a life with you, which includes the good and the bad. Can you say that? Can you say the same thing to me?
Bridget: Yes. Yes, I can.
Brooke: What? (Sighs)
Ridge: Sometimes you just say the right thing in simple enough words that even I get it.
I've always been trying to take care of Steffy in ways she doesn't need from me. She just needs me to be around, like you say.
Brooke: Yeah, well, I do think that's part of it. You know, after all those years of being in Phoebe's shadow-- I mean, let's face it. She was always the one that people looked at, and she was the cute one, the funny one, the helpless one, the center of attention. I mean, not that Steffy didn't like that. I'm just saying that I think after all those years, you know, of being "the other twin," I suspect that she-- she finally wants to be your number one.
Marcus: So you know what they do call you downstairs, though?
Marcus: "The new Stephanie."
Steffy: Is that a good thing or a bad thing?
Marcus: Well, it's a good thing. When it's bad, they call you "Stephanie, Jr."
Steffy: We are nothing alike. (Chuckles)
Marcus: (Chuckles) I know. I know. Um, speaking of that, now that she's gonna be back, what do you think, um, what do I call her? I mean, I can't call her Mrs. Forrester, because that's just wrong. That's not right. That's my mom.
Steffy: Well, you can't call her "Mom."
Marcus: Why? Oh, what, because Eric adopted me?
Steffy: Well, that's what people do when they pretend to be part of the family, like Hope, for instance. Hope calls my father "Dad." That's the way she was brought up. But sometimes a person's just got to face the facts.
Oliver: So you're gonna be a model?
Hope: Oh, well, I don't know yet exactly. But I get the impression that it's going to have something to do with my face.
Oliver: That would be smart on someone's part.
Hope: (Chuckles) You don't think it sounds too incredibly plastic?
Oliver: Hope for the Future?
Hope: Yeah. It doesn't sound like an oil company? Like, "Hey, folks, don't worry. We're here to take care of all your tar-covered seabirds." (Chuckles)
Marcus: All right, let's go.
Steffy: Oh, wait.
Oliver: I think it sounds just right. I know... (Chuckles) I want Hope in my future.
Ridge: I know being a father is not rocket science, but sometimes it is. I'm a pretty darn good husband. I'd have nothing but strong, healthy relationships if I could just marry everyone I know.
Brooke: (Chuckles) I used to think that. And lord knows, I've tried.
Ridge: I was never a scout. Mother wouldn't let me.
Brooke: Really? How shocking.
Ridge: Do they have a merit badge for parents?
Brooke: No, I'm sorry. You're gonna have to just muddle through on your own.
Ridge: No, actually, I won't, because, um, I've got you.
Brooke: Is there "a blonde leading the blind" joke coming?
Ridge: No, I mean it. You know everything. Why do you think I married you again... and again and again...
Ridge: And again?
Brooke: Well, I thought it was the sex.
Ridge: Oh, no. No, no, no, no, not ever.
Brooke: Force of habit, maybe? (Giggles) Mm.
Hope: I should go.
Hope: Nothing's wrong.
Oliver: I know.
Hope: I-I just--
Oliver: You're just happy. And so am I. And that's enough for now.
Hope: You're not really gonna sleep in your car, are you?
Oliver: I'll crash at my sister's, if I can find her.
Hope: Well, um, why don't you go back to the beach house, and, uh, if Owen said you could stay there, maybe whoever was there left.
Oliver: When somebody lights that many candles, they're not going anywhere for a while.
Hope: Well, maybe there was a power outage, and they were there to fix it.
Oliver: I can tell you in a minute.
Nick: Hey. We okay?
Nick: No going backwards. Never lose each other again.
Bridget: No going back. No letting go. No losing you.
Hope: What are you looking for?
Oliver: I got there, started to come in. I saw all this candlelight, so I knew someone had to be there. So I took out my phone and shot some video. I don't know exactly why, and then I got up and left.
Oliver: I'll-- I'll get myself squared away. I always do.
Hope: Okay, good. Well, thank you for...
Oliver: Yeah, me, too. Good night.
Hope: Good night.
Oliver: That's Owen. And... Oh, my God. Bridget?
