Steffy: So... we're good?
Ridge: (Sighs) We're good.
Steffy: (Exhales) Oh, my God. And everything that Brooke said about me is...
Ridge: Look, the only thing that really matters here is you stay the hell away from Spencer. Understand?
Steffy: Mm-hmm. It's not a problem. I got everything I needed from him.
Brooke: You do realize your father had to be told the truth?
Steffy: Yes, yes. You are absolutely right, and I'm glad, 'cause now our relationship is stronger than ever.
Craig: Congratulations, Taylor.
Craig: You're officially a 25% owner of Forrester Creations.
Taylor: Thank you, Craig. (Sighs)
Craig: A little intimidating, isn't it?
Taylor: Oh, more than a little.
Craig: Call me at my office if you have any questions.
Craig: Good luck.
Taylor: Thank you.
Whip: (Chuckles) Oh, boy. Oh, boy. Oh, boy. (Laughs) Yes!
Taylor: Mwah. Mmm.
Nick: Bridget, I'm going to keep leaving you messages, so... hopefully you will get these, and please call me back.
Jackie: Honey, she'll call when she's ready.
Nick: But in the meantime, she's devastated and hurting and alone, and I feel like it's my fault.
Owen: You're gonna get through this.
Bridget: That baby meant so much to me.
Owen: (Whispers) I know. (Normal voice) Bridget, there's gonna be other babies.
Bridget: (Sniffles) No, there wonít. Not for me. You have to have a husband in order to raise a child.
Owen: Come on, you do have a husband.
Bridget: No, I donít. I don't have a husband anymore.
Jackie: Okay, you cannot blame yourself for this.
Nick: If I hadn't invited Aggie over here, Mother, she wouldn't have fallen down the stairs, and there would be no miscarriage. So it is my fault. My wife feels betrayed. I gotta get ahold of her.
Bridget: I don't think I ever got over the loss of Nicole. But when we found out that Agnes was pregnant, that was-- oh, I was so filled with joy. I thought she was the perfect surrogate. What a fool I've been. God, what a fool I've been. All she wanted to do was take my husband away from me. (Sighs) She can have him.
Owen: Come on, you don't mean that.
Bridget: Do you know what Nick told me when we lost the baby? (Crying) He...
Owen: (Whispers) What?
Bridget: He said that maybe I just wasn't meant to have a child. How could he say that to me? How could he say that to me?
(Elevator bell dings)
Brooke: (Sighs) Hope. Hi.
Hope: Mom. Hey.
Brooke: Hi, honey.
Hope: You--you look upset. What's wrong?
Brooke: No, no. It's--it's nothing.
Hope: Steffy, she's in there with Ridge right now, isn't she?
Hope: God, what did she do to you this time?
Ridge: Steffy, can you please be a little more sensitive to Brooke?
Steffy: Oh, I wasn't mean to her.
Ridge: This was a rather large blow to her.
Steffy: She's your wife. She doesn't own the company, but she owns you. What more does she want, Dad? (Scoffs)
Jackie: Sweetheart, let it go for now.
Nick: She just lost our baby, Mother. I want to find her.
Jackie: She is upset. Give her some space. Give her some time--
Nick: I never should have kept this from her. I should have been honest with her from the very start about everything.
Nick: About Aggie. About what her real name was. About her past. You don't keep things like that from your wife. You don't keep anything from your wife, especially Bridget. She has huge issues in this area.
Jackie: I think you're just blowing this out of proportion.
Nick: Am I, Mother? Well, how would you feel if Owen kept secrets from you?
Owen: Nick was probably just trying to comfort you.
Bridget: By telling me that we weren't meant to have a child together? Owen, you, of all people, you know what that means.
Owen: Yeah. Jackie told me the same thing.
Bridget: How did you deal with it?
Owen: Well, the only way that I could. I had to accept it. Look, and that's what you're gonna do. You're gonna accept this because you love Nick. And I'm sure that he is as devastated about this as you are.
Bridget: I don't know what Nick feels. He's being so secretive. He keeps saying that he's trying to protect me. But from what? From what?! From the truth? I mean, wh--wh--wh--what is he talking about? Maybe he knows something that I don't even know. Owen, do you think he means that I would be a terrible mother?
Owen: No. No. Bridget, you would make an incredible mother. And you will be someday. You will.
Bridget: But not with him. I'm leaving him, Owen.
Ridge: That's the way you feel, that Brooke owns me?
Steffy: No, I'm--I'm sorry. I should not have said that.
Ridge: Honey, do you know how much you mean to me?
Steffy: You don't have to ask me that.
Ridge: This thing where you-- with Bill Spencer, I just have to wonder why you did it.
Steffy: I did it to get the company back. Aren't you proud of me at all?
Ridge: Oh, Steffy, I've been proud of you since the day you were born. I couldn't love anyone more than I love you.
Steffy: Why are you saying this?
Ridge: Because, uh, sometimes I feel like you are competing for my attention. And I want to tell you that you don't have to do that. I am always here for you, sweetheart. Always.
Steffy: Well, unfortunately, that isn't completely true. I know you always want to be available to me, and you always have been, but Brooke has stood in my way most of my life. You had to choose between Mom and Brooke and my family. And then finally I have-- I've done something incredible. I've done it for you. I've done it, well, for you and Granddad, but for us, too, so we could work together and build this company into what it used to be. I'm sorry. Just Brooke and her daughter and "Hope for the Future" just--they don't fit into the equation.
Nick: I just can't believe this has happened. It--It's not like I didn't know how important this was to Bridget. (Sighs) You know, Mother, I just feel like I've failed her. I feel like I don't deserve to be her husband.
Owen: You're in a whole lot of pain. You're not thinking straight.
Bridget: He lied to me, Owen! Nick lied to me!
Owen: He didn't lie to you. He just--he didn't-- he didn't tell you everything.
Bridget: Would you ever do that to me?
Owen: No. Listen to me, if I were Nick, I wouldn't keep anything from you.
Bridget: Oh, God, I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with me and this mess. I know I'm not your problem. I'm so sorry, Owen.
Owen: Bridget, Bridget, you know how much you mean to me. And I'm here for you. I want to help you. Whatever you need, I'm here.
Bridget: I'm just so scared. I'm so scared that I'm beyond help right now. My baby's gone.
She's really gone. I never got to meet her or hold her. She's in heaven, though, right...
Owen: Yes, yes.
Bridget: With God. And he's gonna be able to protect her the way that I couldn't, right?
Bridget: (Crying) I'm so sorry that I couldn't do anything about it. (Sobbing) Oh, God, please, just protect her. Why did this happen, Owen? Why did this happen?
Owen: It's okay. I know.
Bridget: I don't know what to do. I think I need--the candles. The candles. Wh--the can--I'm gonna need-- do you have matches? We need the candles.
Steffy: Do you honestly think "Hope for the Future" is the direction that we want to go? It's ridiculous, and you know that. What--Hope has never worked a day in her life, and now she's the centerpiece of a fashion line. And she came up with the idea on her own? If Katie hadn't been C.E.O., this never would have happened.
Ridge: (Sighs) It's more than that, though, isn't it? Steffy?
Steffy: Okay, maybe it is. You are an amazing stepfather to Hope, and I'm glad for that. She's lucky to have a dad like you, and so am I. But this--this is our place. This is the one place I actually have quality time with you, just you and me. We are gonna make this company great. But this company has to be ours. "Hope for the Future" is not our future. We can come up with something better than that.
Steffy: Mom. Hey.
Taylor: Am I interrupting?
Steffy: No. We were just talking about the future of the company.
Taylor: You want to fill in one of the owners? It's official. I signed the papers.
Steffy: Wait, are you kidding me?
Steffy: Oh, my God. That's awesome. Okay, so first order of business, I was just talking to dad about, uh, "Hope for the Future"-- dropping the line. So what do you think?
Taylor: That really isn't my call.
Steffy: No, but you can weigh in. I just think the campaign was a little ill-conceived. There was no planning, no coordination. And Dad was in a meeting when Katie signed off on it. It was ridiculous. Dad wasn't even consulted, but yet Dad and Granddad have to design it?
Taylor: That's--that's true.
Steffy: It's really a no-brainer. We haven't put that much money into it. So we can pull out whenever. And I'm sure you can think of something better, like the "Afterparty." We worked so hard on it and believed in it, Dad.
Taylor: Your daughter can make quite a pitch.
Ridge: Yes, she sure can. Would have made a good lawyer.
Steffy: So does that mean we're dropping the line?
Brooke: Oh, good, everybody's here.
Taylor: Brooke, we're in the middle of something.
Brooke: Well, if it has to do with business, shouldn't I be involved?
Steffy: Actually, it's good that both of you are here. We need to clear the air on something.
Hope: Uh, yeah. Yeah. What is it?
Steffy: Hope, you are a talented young woman with a bright future. But the line that you proposed--
Brooke: My daughter's going to be very busy with her schoolwork and promoting the new campaign, which is, by the way, what we wanted to talk to you about, Ridge.
Steffy: We're dropping the line.
Hope: What? No. No, you--you can't drop the line.
Steffy: It's really not your choice and not yours either.
Brooke: Why? Because I'm not part owner of the company? Is that it? Ridge, what are you gonna do about this?
Steffy: Dad, please tell them that we are not going forward with "Hope for the Future." It's not a winner. Dad, please tell them that.
Jackie: What are you saying? Uh, I mean, of course you deserve to be Bridgetís husband.
Nick: (Sighs) Mother, I have made a huge error in judgment.
Jackie: You did what you thought was right, and Bridget will forgive you.
Nick: I hope you're right. I hope you're right.
Owen: Look, Bridget, honey, you don't--don't--
Bridget: Shh, shh, shh, shh.
Bridget: It's time to say some prayers. No one's prayed for my little baby. Will you pray with me, please?
Bridget: Dear God, I don't know why this happened. I don't know why another child was taken from me. But I'm so sorry if I did something wrong. I need your help, 'cause I don't know what to do right now. But I trust you, and I know that you'll take care of her. I know that you'll take care of her. Please, Lord, just hold her in the palm of your hand. Lord, you're the only one that knows my heart. You know how much I wanted to be her mother. I would have protected her. I would have kept her safe. I really would have. (Crying) I wanted to try. (Sniffles) But you have her now. Will you tell her I loved her? Tell her I really wanted to be her mother. (Sniffles) I wanted to be her mother. (Sniffles)
Owen: You're gonna be all right.
Bridget: She's gonna be all right.
Bridget: God's gonna take care of her.
